Dragon Tales Week of August 30thTHANKSThanks to everyone for your willingness to do what’s necessary for the students of Mc Donogh 26.The Journey BeginsWe have embarked on a tremendous journey to impact the lives of students by providing them with aquality education. Remember a key part is for us to have a clear mindset, method, and mission around ourdaily work. What are you doing daily in your classroom to live out the belief that all children can learn. Doyou give up on the struggling student? Do you stick with this child saying you may not be there yet buttogether we are going to get you there? Do you provide challenging work for all of your students? Whatmethods are you using to ensure all children learn? Are you incorporating small group instruction into yourdaily routines? Have you shared our mission of increasing our school performance score by 20% across allcontent areas. The students should have a sense of where we are headed and what we are expecting. Everyjourney begins with a single step. We have taken that step and must continue to take steps toward reachingour finish line. At Mc Donogh 26 all students will achieve proficiency or beyond.Mastery ObjectivesWhen planning for instruction all decisions should be focused around WHAT DO I WANT STUDENTS TOKNOW AND BE ABLE TO DO BY THE END OF THIS LESSON. The learning focus is the key lever toall other decisions made about how learning will occur and what evidence there will be that studentslearned. I will be looking for evidence of this on weekly lesson plans.Committee Sign –UpPlease complete form at the end of this weekly update to indicate which committee you would like to serveon.
