TEAMS is a chat-based collaboration platform that enables instant messaging, audio and video calls, and sharing content in one place. It allows users to communicate through chats and conversations as well as meet via video or audio calls. Users can also collaborate on content across Microsoft 365 applications like Office, SharePoint, and Planner. The presentation provided tips for using TEAMS such as creating teams and channels only if needed, making teams and channels public or private, and the different ways to start meetings.

8. MICROSOFT “TEAMS”
• A Team is a container (with or without Branding) for a collection of Channels and their
resources (Posts, Files, Wikis, SharePoint Online site…). You can have a combination of
teams – Private or Public.
• A Channel is a single place for a team to share messages, files and apps in common. It has
shared resources such as Posts, Files, Wikis, a SharePoint Online site etc. A collection of
channels makes a team.
• Meetings in TEAMS can be achieved through "Meet now", "Schedule a meeting" and in
Microsoft Outlook "New Teams Meeting".
• Conversations (or chats), Announcements are ways to collaborate with your team through
messaging and meetings. They exist in the "Posts" tab. The formal exists in channels or private
chats.

10. 5 “TEAMS” TIPS AND BEST PRACTICES
1. Create a team (or channel) only if it is required or it will be used (remove inactive teams and
other content that your team isn’t using).
2. When you create a team, you can make it "Public – Anyone in your organization can join"
or "Private – Only team owners can add members".
3. When you create a channel you can make it visible under the team it belongs to or part of.
This is known as a Public channel. Otherwise, it will be invisible (or hidden) and Private.
4. You can leave a private team or channel only. "Channel notifications“ can be turned off for
public teams or channels. You can leave a private channel if you are an owner (unless last
the owner), member or a guest.
5. There are three main ways to start a meeting in Teams.

A. Create "New Teams
Meeting" or just "Meet Now"
in the "Teams Meeting" tab in
Microsoft Outlook.

TEAMS is a single access point for all your
intranet resources and a hub for teamwork.
TEAMS enables your team to be more
productive by giving them a single place to get
their work done.
It is a chat-based app that users communicate
through chats, conversations, announcements
etc. as well as meet by way of video or audio-
only calling.
Users can also collaborate on content across
M365, for instance with Office applications,
SharePoint, Planner, etc. and other third-parties
apps.
