Wayra is Telefonica's startup accelerator program that aims to support innovative technology startups. It provides funding of 40k Euros in convertible notes to ICT projects, as well as access to Telefonica's resources like its network and over 300 million customers worldwide. Startups participate in a 6 month accelerator program where they receive business support and mentorship. Wayra has already accelerated over 13,000 projects and helped Spanish startups raise 2.5 million Euros in external funding. Telefonica plans to expand Wayra across Europe after launching programs in Germany and the Czech Republic.
