This document discusses lessons that can be learned from the entertainment industry for meeting new readers and subscribers. It provides data on paid digital subscribers for movies, TV, sports, music, and news in the US. Key lessons discussed include:
- Making content widely available across multiple platforms and devices.
- Extending the life of content through new copyright licensing models.
- Experimenting with various pricing models from transactional to subscriptions.
- Focusing on usability, flexibility, and easy unsubscribing to prioritize the consumer experience.
- Bundling content and services to provide better value to users.
- Connecting online platforms to drive traffic between different types of content and experiences both online and offline
The audiences for TV are fragmenting. The Internet continues to grow, and ad money continues to move online. But technological obstacles and vested interests will probably keep the Internet from becoming what TV was or is.

Music revenues are declining for more than ten years. But we are not listening less music. Digital revolution, piracy, streaming and mostly customers behaviors are affecting heavily the monetization of the entire industry. Define a new business model is key to grow.
With the Internet and social networks, some new business models have emergied. Consider Flickr. Anybody can sign up and use the service for free. Only a fraction of the users get pro account and pay. How can Flickr make money on that? It turns out that services like this can.
Many businesses make money by giving things away. How can that possibly work? The music business has suffered severly with digital distribution of content. Should musicians put all there songs on YouTube? What is the future business model for music?
In this lecture we look at new busines models, include the business of free.

Now is an extraordinary time for entertainment. Academy Award-winning directors are shooting films on iPhone, songwriters create hits using artificial intelligence, online games reach Super Bowl-size audiences—there is so much going on. I use data to make sense of developments in creative segments (music, video, podcasting/voice, publishing, esports) and related tech (5G, Internet of Things, AI, VR/AR, blockchain and other disruptive innovations).

Advancements in viewing technology and increased competition for eyeballs have resulted in a more fragmented environment where consumers can watch TV from a wide array of devices and access content from countless sources. Led by certain segments of the population, most notably Millennials, consumers have quickly adapted to this new environment and are drastically changing their viewing patterns at an accelerating rate. In this report, we asked more than 1,000 Americans about their TV viewing behaviors to provide context for the shifts in their consumption habits and better understand viewing audiences.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
