hyperreal (par. 1). Through his consumption of texts, Oswald constructs an identity without
substance or reality: a hyperreal identity. Baudrillard cites a Borges tale about a ruler who

The world is full of distractions to keep us comfortable with living in a false reality, one of the
biggest distractions being the internet. The invention of the internet has accommodated us with an
immense amount of knowledge; ironically, the internet also conditions us to accept shallow
knowledge as truth. Plato argues that each person possesses some form of ignorance, and that it is
our job to break free from our chains to truly see the world in its purest form. In The Allegory of
the Cave, Plato uses inductive reasoning through a conversation, symbolism, and imagery to
challenge society s view of reality and compel his readers to stop accepting the world as incomplete
and inaccurate.
The conversation written throughout The Allegory of the Cave forms a very distinctive teacher

Schifferstadt Historical Site
It is simple to overlook a historical site or museum when it is in your local area and pass it on
the daily. Schifferstadt Architectural Museum is the historical site I continually disregarded until
I had a class trip there, it is less than a half mile away from school and I always pass it driving
home, it is bizarre that I have never visited there before the trip. Schifferstadt is located directly off
of route 15 North on Rosemont avenue, it is a colonial German stone house that was built in 1758
by the Brunner family. The historical site is currently owned by the Frederick CountyLandmarks
Foundation, and has been since 1974. The site is different than some typical lager museums, there
are no self led tours, only docents tour individuals and groups throughout the house. The staff was

Mr. Jack Little, the current executive director, has been with ECCO since 2005. During a
personal interview with Mr. Little, he informed me that as a youth he had worked for his father
and had planned to continue with that professional as his career choice. He explained that he
decided to alter his career direction when God called me to work in this type of work on a
mission trip in Philadelphia six years after I graduated from Business School with a degree in

Thinking of life back almost 40,000 years ago can be a challenge to wrap the mind around. To
learn about the human species past, we must decipher the clues left behind of how humans used
to live. When asked to recreate cave paintings a common drawing some might think of stick
figures. The actuality of the cave paintings is that they are incredibly detailed and are able to
show the artistic talent of the cavemen and women. In the film Cave of Forgotten Dreams, it
focuses on a cave in southern France and the intricate paintings and artifacts found inside. The
cave dates to around 30,000 years ago and there is a unique aspect of how everything was

The animals ranged from horses to rhinos, and even cave lions. The drawings were detailed enough
to allow scientists to decipher the paintings and learn what they were witnessing at that period of
time. Along with the paintings of the animals, bones were found in the cave and that also revealed
more about the life in the cave other than just the cavemen and women. Using all of this
information given to them, the scientists were able to learn not only how the cavemen and women
lived but how animals lived during this time. The drawings in the cave in Southern France seemed
to be quite anatomically correct to the animals roaming Earth today. The drawings are so detailed
that there is not much hesitation on what type of animal they could have been drawing, it is obvious
what their intent was. A surprise regarding the animal paintings was the lack of anything other than
mammals. Throughout the cave there were a handful of paintings depicting insects such as
butterflies and the one sole drawing of a human, but besides that they animals were mammals. Why
these paintings are important depends on who is answering the question. A scientist might answer
differently than an art professor who might answer differently than a random civilian. The
importance is in what each person gains from these drawings. A scientist can analyze and learn
