The white background allowed it to be easier to use the Lasso tool to go around and get rid of the background, using the feathering tool between 6-8 to soften the edges.

Breaking conventions by including a black man could give my Pop publication a unique selling point.

Second feature image Original Photoshop I selected this female model to be the second feature image on the front cover because she is fitting with the conventions of beauty and how females are shown to be represented in Pop magazines. The white background enhanced her natural tanned skin and the feathering tool on Photoshop took away the harsh edges which would appeal to my target market.
- 4. Contents page image Original Photoshop I selected this female model to be the contents page image because the pose shows excitement and the playfulness of the hairbrush, standing in as the microphone, requires the audience to think – could prove a challenge to younger ages.

Third feature image Original Photoshop I selected this female model to be the final feature image on the contents page because she is using popular iconography (headphones) and has bright make-up that suggest a Pop publication. I had to crop and resize this image in Photoshop to remain the detail within the hair, and turn up the contrast.
