standing on the fringes of life ... offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it
looks like from the dance floor.
This haunting novel about the dilemma of passivity vs. passion marks the stunning debut of a
provocative new voice in contemporary fiction: The Perks Of Being A WALLFLOWER
This is the story of what it’s like to grow up in high school. More intimate than a diary, Char-
lie’s letters are singular and unique, hilarious and devastating. We may not know where he lives. We
may not know to whom he is writing. All we know is the world he shares. Caught between trying
to live his life and trying to run from it puts him on a strange course through uncharted territory.
The world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends. The world of sex, drugs,
and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect
drive to feel infinite.
Through Charlie, Stephen Chbosky has created a deeply affecting coming-of-age story, powerful
novel that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller coaster days known as growing up.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Out With The Old and In With The New
Living in the tough streets of Camden had lead him down a dangerous and
drug filled path and his only escape was through music and the bonds which he
forged while performing. James Roy’s story begins in one of least friendly areas
in London, Camden where he and his older brother grew up and spent most of
their life. Throughout their teenage years, many challenges and problems
presented themselves to the two brothers such as local gangs and drug dealers
and after much perseverance; the two gave into the pressure and began a life
of drugs and violence. During an interview with James he stated that “It was
the most torturing part of my childhood, I wasn’t allowed to turn back once I
started, it felt like I was stuck in a never-ending cycle of drugs and violence.”
He said with teary eyes. Living a life without a choice of his own lead James
from the selling of drugs to the consumption of them.
After many years of this however, his older brother overdosed on heroin, ever
since then, James has moved away from all the crime and turmoil which
caused him a life time of grief and decided to live with his uncle in Kent, there
is where he began to show is talents in music. His uncle encouraged him to
play an instrument and so began to play the guitar and sing in his local hall.
“living with my uncle was the best thing which could have happened to me, I
began to live a normal life” he said with a big grin on his face. Whilst living with
his uncle, he also began to build a strong relationship with the other teenagers
in the area and began to start preforming with them and entered in local battle
of the bands and ranking very high.
“As time went by, I didn’t see myself wanting to stay in Kent like the others and
so I decided to live in London as a way for me to promote my music or to
pursue anything else just if I didn’t stay in Kent as I believe that if I stayed, I
would have never been able to escape.” He said with a determined look on his
face. With the support of his uncle he moved back to London and rented out a

1 bedroom apartment in Barnet and began his journey to become a musician.
James searched through the newspapers and went to local and not so local
music studios hoping that someone would be his manager and after a year of
searching, he began to give up, and with no help in sight, he began to work full
time in a music store, selling instruments and CD’s to customers as he thought
that this is final option.
5 months passed by when a customer came in by the name of Charles
Hennessy and asked James about one of the guitars on the rack. So, James
takes it down and begins to test the guitar to see if it is in tune and decides to
play a small riff, Charles is amazed by the small demonstration and asks James
who taught him how to play. “I responded by saying that I was self-taught
*giggles* and the rest was history. He gave me his number and told me to call
him if I ever wanted to put my talents to good use… so I did.” Stars were
aligning for James and he got his first song uploaded to YouTube, “Having my
first song uploaded to YouTube was my idea as I wanted my friends and uncle
back in Kent to see how far I’ve come and wanted them to be one able to see it
the same as everyone else.” He said with a huge smile across his face.
Amazingly, James’ first song got over 2 million views and 1.6 million likes
making it one of the most popular videos on YouTube (at the time). Many
different record companies wanted to recruit James but he refused all of them
and decided to stay with Charles as he believed that he should stay with who
made his dreams real.
On the back of his first songs major success, he has decided to release his first
album called ‘The Beginning’ which is a solo album with no features but
however has inspirations from his past and the ordeals he has had to
overcome in order be where he is now. “This album is a very sentimental one
for me, not just because this is my first ever album, but also because it’s from
the heart and all the hardship I’ve had to overcome to be where I am today.”
James has also gone on to state that half of his earnings from the sales of the
album will go to towards charities which support children living in rough and
drug ridden areas who can’t escape just like him when he was younger.
