Born and raised in London, 18 year old Emma Stingwire has become a teen sensation
to the world of Rock and has become the youngest rock singer in history. Emma
Stingwire’s debut single “Me against the world” got 19,000,000 views in only a week,
which was amazing for an unknown singer. We caught up with the raising star to find
out more about her and how the newly acquired fame is treating her.
“How would you describe the early years of your life?”
“Well I didn’t really have the best childhood I suppose, I use to always get bullied as
a kid which led to a lack of confidence in myself. I didn’t know why but people use to
always see me as an easy target. But bullying only taught me to be stronger and fight
my enemies, so the whole bullying thing stopped as I got older.”
“When did music become a part of your life?”
“It all started when I was 6 , My brother was a massive rock fan and use to listen to
many rock albums a day from Slipknot to Nine Inch Nails, because of my brother, I
soon became interested in the genre of Rock. Not long after that I started singing ,
People always use to tell me that I would never become a rock princess, but I knew
from the start that I was born for rock. At the age of 12 I got put in a music school
because my parents saw the passion I had for music”
“Was there a dark moment in your life?”
“Well when I was 16 when my Nan died and I hit rock bottom. I started drinking and
self harming due to the depression I was suffering from, Like when she passed away it
left a void in my heart and at the time drinking and self harming was the only
solution. My Nan was the only one that believed in me, she was an inspiring woman
and she taught me never to give up, So when my mum told me the news it completely
destroyed me”
“How did you overcome it?”
“Well music was there for me,i started writing songs about how much I hated the
world for taking something important from me, well I haven’t fully overcome
everything really, I’m still in recovery stage, but I guess that music is helping me
recover faster”
“Would you say that music’s saving your life?”
“I guess I could say that, I mean if it wasn’t there who knows what I could have done
other than become a heavy drinker at a young age and a self harmer”

depression etc?.”
“Put it down because you don’t need it!! Yeah life can be a b*tch but we need to show
it who’s boss!”
“Speaking of fans, how has your newly acquired fame been treating you?”
“Wow! I mean everything happened so fast, one minute you’re at the bottom and the
next you’re at the top. It’s amazing the support I’m getting for a newcomer , I mean
I’ve just started working on my album and already it’s one of the most anticipated
albums of the year”
“How’s your album coming along?”
“The album’s coming along great, I hope the fans like it. It’s gonna be mostly about
my anger and personal experience because I just wanna let it all out, hopefully people
can relate to my songs”
“Do you think your album will reach number 1 in the charts when you release it?”
“I sure hope so! Rock needs to get back on track and show Pop who’s boss!!”
“So you’ve already been nominated for awards, how does that feel?”
“F*cking amazing!- Opps. Well it’s awesome I mean I just released my debut single
and I’m already nominated for awards?. It takes a newcomer ages to reach that stage”
“Any upcoming gigs?”
“Yes! I can’t wait to trash hotels after the shows. The gigs are gonna be happening in
4 months time so don’t forget to buy your tickets!”
“Sounds amazing, you gonna throw parties too?”
“Yes I am! Especially after parties, those are the epic ones. Me and the crew are
gonna completely destroy places”
“What are your hopes for the future?”
“Well I hope my album and my voice makes it out there, it’s not every day that you
get an opportunity like this. Also I’ll be working on a screenplay about my life soon. I
just want people to get to know MY story and that there’s always a better path to
chose from “
