When did you know you wanted to be famous?
I have always been singing ever since i was a baby. Its been my life goal. Ever
since i was a baby my mum has always been recording me singing and acting. Me
and my mum use to listen to music together, and we use to sing together.
When i was old enough my style of music changed. it still does i love listening to
new songs and music. I just want to keep promoting my music.
Are you excited to be collaborating with Drake?
I’m so excited i cant believe im opening for him at wireless festival this year. He’s
my biggest and favourite artist i cant believe i have this opportunity. Especially
form where i started, who would have thought i would be able to do this. I am
honoured to be working along side my idol.
How’s your clothing brand going?
Really well business is booming, everyone’s wearing them there perfect for
summer a little light, bright jacket.
Your so young do you feel a lot of pressure performing ?
I enjoy what I’m doing,. I do it because i love it and enjoy it if i was stressed i
wouldn’t do it to myself. Music gives me a release i just like people feeling happy
and dancing to my music. I have a unique style my songs to me are deep but
everyone can relate and they always have a good beat.
Any surprises for 2017 summer?
Its going to be madddd. Wireless is going to be my biggest performance over
thousands of people and opening for Drake is crazy.
But im so happy.
Any love life?
No time to be honest, music is my passion at the minute. Got to work now and
enjoy later.
How did it all begin?
Music has always helped me through all my stresses, worries and hard time as a
kid. I lived in Castle estate in Camden when I was growing up to stay out of
trouble I use to sing in my cousins house. We set up a studio and sang together.
Eventually we got good, and many people wanted us to perform so we had our
first gig, and we took off. We started to go out and perform around Camden
getting well known everyone knew us for our music. But I was never where I
wanted to be I was always a feature on my cousin’s music. I wanted to be well
known and to get a better life that I could never have, I kept working hard
writing my songs. But my cousins weren’t the same they kept going out, and
started missing performances. They thought they had everything, they tasted a
life they never had and it got to their head. I started to distance myself from my
family; unfortunately I didn’t want my music to be associated with them. After a
while the fame got to my cousin and he overdosed on drugs. This left me
devastated and I couldn’t help but give up.
I went into a spiral of depression I moved out and started a fresh. The pain was
too much so I stopped singing for a while, and I got sad and depressed. To me
music and songs made me happy it gave me joy, and happiness.
Eventually I decided to get back to it to make myself happy, and it was then I
realised music can help anyone and everyone. I used my social media as a
platform and posted a lot of videos of me singing it got a lot of views and likes. I
was scouted and put under management by some people and they gave me gigs
and opportunities.; at the roundhouse.
I performed at the roundhouse along side Emilie Sande , she is a great inspiration
to me and inspired me to keep working hard till I get where I want to be. As well
as Rihanna due to our similar style of music i enjoy the vibe of her music and her
vibes.
