1. Emily Gleeson Article
We’re back again! Today we are here in London, Camden on our way to have an exclusive
interview with the beautiful Emily Gleeson for our special edition of ‘Refrain magazine. The sun is
beaming down on the high-street so we know it’s going to be a good day for everyone. We are
interviewing the stunning artist at her beautiful penthouse that overlooks the city. We arrive at her
house and she opens the door her dressing gown with a cup of tea in her hand, living up to her
indie lifestyle stereotype. We enter the apartment that has a strong smell of in scents and
lavender. We sit down with the singer on her balcony, with a cup of herbal tea and begin the
interview. It's been almost 2 years since we last spoke to the singer/songwriter so we have lots to
catch up on. Since the last time we spoke she had just released her second album, ‘Melody’ has
just signed her record deal with Sony. “I’m so excited to be doing this interview with you guys, it's
been too long” She bursts out as we begin the interview. The 22 year old is sat on her balcony
swing chair with her cavapoo dog ‘Barney’ on her lap. “I’m so glad you've asked me to be the
feature issue for this magazine”. She sips on her herbal tea and looks down over the balcony at
the fuss of the streets below. She seems to be a lot more radiant this time round and a lot more
quirky, it's nice to see the young girl back to her youth instead of how she was during the big
breakup that caused havoc over social media. “It was so silly! I was head over heels for a guy
and engaged at 20 years old” (she laughs at herself before carrying on) “My mum told me I was
too young and I didn't listen! Instead I let him treat me like shit and I was the one with my heart
broken” She looks down at her hands before exhaling and looking up and smirking. “I mean
we’re ok now, I wouldn't say we’re best friends but I have definitely moved on and we are both so
much happier for it.” The singer has been back in London for just over 5 months after travelling
around the world on her latest tour. Travelling from the U.S, Asia, Europe and South America.
Her tour ended in Rio De Janeiro where she was said to have been dancing the nights away with
her fans as her tour came to an end. However she says “I love touring the world it's one of the
best things about my job, but after all of that the only thing I look forward to is curling up into a
ball in bed and hibernating for at least a week! Just the company on my fridge, T.V and of course
my Barney Boo”. Throughout the rest of the interview, she breaks out in some further laughter
and bad language, as she is highly known for having a laugh. “The media is so messed up, like I
can’t go out with any off my guy friends without being accused of dating and it's annoying
because the media are trying to relate me to Taylor swift as another one of the girls who run
through guys! And that is definitely not the case for me or Taylor for that matter”.
So what's changed about Emily since the last time we spoke? Well for a start she seems to be
bursting with her confidence she first had when she was first being discovered. It's so lovely to
see such a young spirit living her life independently. With her amazing friends such as, of course
Jords Cords, but also Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Bonnie Harper, Gigi Hadid and so many
more… So we wanted to get to the bottom of Emily’s current love life so we asked her a few
questions that we knew you guys were dying to know: So Emily are there any relationships
blossoming at the moment with you and anyone? She laughs “NO! I can imagine everyone wants
to know” she carries on laughing “for now yes I am dating but it’s just dates here and there, no
serious relations with anyone so far” How’s your third album going? “Really well! I am so excited
for this album to be released, like me and Jordan have put our blood and sweat into this whilst on
tour writing the songs. It’s so different from the rest because it’s almost like our personal diary?
Each and every song has a meaning and purpose behind it and I love the idea of people trying to
figure out the bizarre scenarios for what they think it might mean! We’ve finished writing all the
songs it’s just a case of recording them, so for now I don’t think the albums going to be released
until sometime in 2017! But I can’t wait for my fans to hear it and I hope they love it as much as I
do”
