This document describes the design of a cam and follower mechanism to pump peanut butter onto cookies. Three designs were considered and evaluated. The final design uses a cam with a prime radius of 70mm and follower displacement of 10mm over 180 degrees of cam rotation. Calculations were done to determine the required piston diameter and spring properties. Solidworks models were created of the nozzle and packaging for the mechanism. The design aims to meet specifications such as pumping 0.4cc of peanut butter per cookie at a rate of 600 cookies per minute.
