Long Tail Keyword Strategy Find those easy to obtain keywords These often have high intent (“las vegas lawyer” vs “chapter 7 bankruptcy lawyer in las vegas”) Content can hone in on what people are looking for Grow as the Website Grows With long-term in mind grow steadily Expand your site as you can Add content with services / jobs Reviews can expand your content naturally FAQs are perfect for identifying new pages Pages don’t have to be 1000 word articles, keep it simple. View analytics on a weekly basis – at first Don’t get discouraged, it takes time Looking at your analytics a month at a time at first is not bad It takes a lot of data to take action Put yourself in the users shoes (actions)
  4. They say “ignorance is bliss” but, this couldn’t be further from the truth for SEO. Do industry research to see what you need. Start by looking at what is happening in the industry New technologies New trends What is the hot product/service What is common vs specialized (concrete contracting vs concrete stamping/coloring) Review competitors to see what is helping them. What is working for them How do they cover things What kind of content do they have Do it better then them Use your own customers to get new ideas. Read reviews, search for them Use questions to expand content Ask customers what they want/need
  5. Content is so common now days you really have to go above and beyond to create something people care to read. Make it interesting, unique, and diverse! Content is not just text, expand your content! Pictures (Projects, Store Fronts, People) Videos (Tutorials, Projects, Reviews, Infomercial) White-papers, eBooks, PDFs PowerPoints or Slides Free Stuff! (Resources, Links, Samples, etc.) Pick something you like to do/use. Social Media Pick what you like and want to use. Use it consistently to engage and share Blogging Blog on your site Or find a blog/platform and use it Make it unique and custom to you. Be yourself – You have your own style (Outgoing, Helpful, Teacher, etc.) Use your unique view to express your business (Tame, Blunt, Edgy, Prestigious, etc.) Let your assets (website, social media, content, etc.) reflect yourself Create something you would be proud to share (over and over again). Create something you care about Can you share it 100 times? Share it in different ways Add a DIY Tutorial to your Blog Text Pictures Link to your service page Create a YouTube Video and optimize it Share it or have your employees/peers share it Repeat the process and your content will ALWAYS be amazing and you will have a ton of it!
  6. Make sure you have enough pages to thoroughly help users. Create paths for your customers How can you get someone from discovery to purchase Get hyper specific with your pages if it makes sense Being the expert really means teaching Create navigation that is easy to use. Envision and create hierarchy Have pages nested where they need to be See what others are doing if your lost Can you go broader? You not be shooting for client nationally but the exposure can’t hurt! Link internally if it makes sense and helps users. Don’t forget to create those paths If it makes sense to throw in a keyword and link it to a relevant page, do it! Strive to get users to go 2 pages or more on your website
  7. SEO Is a slow road but it can yield time and time again. SEO is slow because you are literally creating a mountain The more unique and interesting the mountain the more visitors Make your mountain something for everyone (DIY, Kids, Research, Fun, etc.) If you build a mountain it takes a long time to erode.
  8. The allures are real especially when you see something like 100 high PR links for $20. Or instantly getting a 40 page website cheaply. Buying Links Beware anyone talking about PageRank Purchasing links from a PBN Non-Relevant Links (non vertical) Too Many of 1 link type Buying Followers/Likes This is pointless, like “buying visits” Subscribers without interaction looks bad Its about communication not numbers 1 interaction could be 1 sale vs 200 likes and no sales Buying Thin/Duplicate Content Be aware of what you purchase Always double check content purchased Don’t use content from a resource or catalog If you cant create/modify it don’t take it (MLMs) Don’t risk your investment with quick or cheap fixes. Hosting Building Adding Links Trust Users Time The real investment adds up quick!
