Persuasive Essay On Slam Poetry
Harold Bloom has famously said that slam poetry is the death of art . But is this statement actually
true? Before getting into why slam poetry should or should not be considered art it is important to
first establish a definition of what art actually is. According to Dennis Dutton, in order for
something to be considered art it must bring direct pleasure to the writer or the audience, it must
include emotional saturation, and it must challenge an individual intellectually (Torres). With all of
that in mind, it seems that Bloom s statement does not stand true. Slam poetryis art because it brings
pleasure to individuals, it includes emotional saturation and it challenges an individual intellectually.
Slam poetry is art because not only does it bring pleasure to the writer, it can also bring pleasure
to the audience. Some may ask why pleasure is important or even relevant when talking about
art. Pleasure is relevant because it is imperative that a person enjoys what they are doing or it
would be considered work. In What Teachers Make by Taylor Mali you can see that slam brings
him pleasure through his performance. If someone tries to judge you / by what you make, you give
them this (31 32). This quote is a great ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All throughout Taylor Mali s performance you can tell he is passionate about the topic he is
speaking on. The two major emotions Mali displays in his performance are anger and pride.
Right from the very beginning it is obvious that Mali is angry about the way the guest is talking
about teachers: I decide to bite my tongue instead of his / and resist the temptation to remind the
dinner guests / that it s also true what they say about lawyers (8 10). Pride is displayed in the end
when Mali states, Teachers make a ... difference! Now what about you? (34). It is imperative that
emotional saturation be included in this piece in order for it to be considered

Essay on Home Sweet Home
Home Sweet Home
How would you feel if you went into a business, to fill out an application for a job, and had to leave
the section blank that was asking for your address? I am sure that you might feel lost, sad, or
even embarrassed. On the other hand, how would you feel if you were able to fill in the section
asking for your address, but did not feel like you could call this place home? Maybe you would
have feelings of being alone, not loved, or not even cared about.
I always hurt for people, that I see on the streets, that are homeless, and I wish that I could do
something for them. But, I pity those who have a house and cannot consider it a home. Home is not

I strongly disagree and believe that if someone cannot consider their house a home, it has a lot to
do with the attitudes of those living in it. I also believe that a house is the place where most
teenagers remain until, at least, the age of eighteen because of not being able to afford their
own house. On the other hand, they all belong to a home where, whether or not they admit it,
they will always have a loving family to welcome them into their hearts. Many of them tend to
feel this way because as they grow older they begin to only think of themselves and become very
self centered or selfish. These feelings of selfishness usually do not change until teenagers begin
progressing into adulthood. If a teenager sees how their selfishness negatively affects their family
and they begin to change their ways, while still in their teenage years, this change is usually the
cause of a bad event that left them lonely and in the dark. This event could have been something
along the lines of tough love from family members which caused this person to look back on
events they regretted from the past and helped them to look forward to changing these actions for a
better future. Many of my friends complain about not being happy at home and how much they just
cannot wait to move out of the house. When I hear them complaining about this, the first thing that
comes to my mind is, igrave; How do you expect yourself to experience the true feeling of a home
if you never make the best

Jerry Spinelli s Maniac Magee
In the book, Maniac Magee, the author, Jerry Spinelli, uses descriptive details, dialogue, actions,
and thoughts develop the character, Amanda Beale. Amanda Beale is a young black girl who
loves her books. Knowing that her dog, her brother, and her sister could rip them up and destroy
them, she doesn t leave the house without them. She is also very comfortable with guests, let s
take Maniac for instance. Maniac Magee was a stranger and he did not know Amanda, yet she
trusted him to not only keep her book safe until she wanted it back but to stay in her house. She
knew he was not black and she knew he was a boy, but she also knew that he was harmless and
had a heart. One charactertrait that describes Amanda is caring. I think she s caring because

New Medical Findings From Anterior Cruciate Ligament...
As new medical findings become disseminated present day practices are subject to amendment,
exposing the inherent nature and complexity of the human body. This is particularly true in a
health care setting where a top down processing approach is adopted to study and treat complex
comorbidities. The problem is that, while health care professionals acknowledge the limitations of
the traditional top down approach, they rarely appropriate the necessary time needed to respond to
such constraints. This study intended to identify alternative methods of responding to disparities
seen amongst athletes recovering from anterior cruciate ligamentreconstruction (ACLR) by
embracing the inherent nature and complexity of the human body. Rehabilitative care for an ACLR
is invariably complex and delicate in nature. Inexperience, rapidly changing technologies and
procedures, unpredictable psychosocial environments, and increasingly demanding training
standards brings immense challenges for those health care professionals involved with returning
an athlete to their pre injury level (Morrison Waltner Toews, (2010). Many factors have been
found to affect the quality of recovery. However, it is generally assumed that each factor is
mutually exclusive from each other (Duquin et. al., (2010). As a consequence, little is known about
the strength and direction of association between each variable. Before we can engage in improved
rehabilitative care for ACLR, it is important to take a step back

Illegal Street Racing
Illegal Street Racing
It would seem that the import car scene is becoming one of the largest trends in the automotive
industry since the introduction of the assembly line. Nearly every manufacturer of vehicles has a
sport compact car in the market. Teenagers and other young adults are customizing and souping
these cars up for purposes that no car was intended for, illegal street racing. These speed contests on
public roads are a danger to anything and everything on the roads, including the driver. The
problem is these adolescents think it is fun to and show off their cars and race. They neglect the fact
that there are alternatives to illegal street racing, like the drag strip. They also ignore the major
consequences involved with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Los Angeles has even formed a special street racing task force and is attacking these racers at
full throttle. The unit gave out 259 citations at one location in one weekend (Wood). The
Toronto police have also formed there own program called P.A.C.E.R., Police and Community
Educating Racers. Toronto is ranked among the highest in North America for illegal speed
contest with several hundred local participants, hundreds more that are drawn there from all
over Southern Ontario and the United States, plus the hundreds more in attendance. The
program has already cited many drivers; one weekend saw as many as 401 charged including
twenty five criminal charges. Most of the offenses were committed by people holding G1 and
G2 licenses, which happen to be the least experienced behind the wheel ( Street Racers ). But
drivers are not the only ones the law is after, spectators of these races are also being ticketed.
Laws have been passed saying that just watching a race can be punishable by a $250 fine. The
Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee is now trying to pass a law making it
misdemeanor and punishable by six months in jail and a one thousand dollar fine for being a
spectator to a race on public streets. Councilman Ralph Inzunza Junior says, We have to do
something that s very strong, that s going to get people s attention. Spectators are said to be the
antagonist behind racing. They will trash talk and use peer pressure

Transitional Bilingual Program Essay
DATA Surrounding the Transitional Bilingual Education Program:
в€™ Based on the FY97 Fall Housing Report, schools identified 118,246 students as being eligible

Exploratory Study
As an undergraduate, I initially majored in exploratory studies so that I could better assess my
skills and interests to see which major would be best fit for me. It did not take long for me to
decide on a major of movement and sports science because of the focus on the biomechanics of the
human body. I did not know that I wanted to become a physicianassistant right away. Initially I
thought about becoming a physical therapist or personal trainer, since I was interested in exercise.
However, it didn t take long for me to realize that my interests were more widespread than that. I
was interested in the diagnostic aspect of medicine, so I knew that I did not want to become a nurse.
Of course, I considered medical schoolbut found that the PA

Analysis of Wing Safety Using Full-Range Leadership Model...

in the death or serious injury of multiple individuals. Unfortunately service members and/or
dependents have been identified as the root cause. As the new Chief of the Wing Safety office
this is my number #1 priority. I cannot solve this problem alone and will rely heavily on my
team. This paper will explain how I analyzed the current environment using the Full Range

committed to solving this problem and will do so without cutting corners. Second, I will make it
clear that I cannot do this alone. Following the intellectual stimulation model I will communicate to
them the need to come up with new ideas, but just as important, I want them involved in decision
making process. Third, I will address the morale issue by using the inspirational motivation
model. They need to hear we will succeed. By using this technique I will convey to them that
despite the awesome challenge that lies before us, we will succeed and save lives. This will be a
theme throughout our problem solving process in order to eliminate self doubt and instill
confidence. Finally, like any team in a sport or work environment, not everyone is the same and
each person may require different levels of attention. Simply put, I need to know who these people
really are. It is my responsibility to provide the proper feedback, guidance and mentorship to each
of them using the individual consideration trait. In this role I will be developing safety experts
today, who in turn, can spread their knowledge and successful techniques to the troops of tomorrow.

The Characteristics Of A Serial Killer And The Zodiac Killer
In this paper, I will describe who the Zodiac Killer was, but also how a serial killer is different from
a normal homicide suspect. In addition, I will explain if the Zodiac Killer had specific criteria
when he selected his victims and whether a forensic psychologist or criminal profiler provided
input in this case. Finally, I will express my thoughts on why the Zodiac Killerwas never captured
and what else, if anything could have been done to help find the infamous Zodiac Killer.
In order to explain how a serial killer is different than a normal homicide is to first understand
how a serial killer operates. On December 20, 1968, in the sleepy town of Benecia, California the
murders of a teenage couple were discovered in an area called lover s lane off Lake Herman
Road. The victims, Betty Lou Jensen and David Faraday, were shot while parked in their car
around 11:10pm. Investigators collected shell casings and other evidence from the scene, but
after several months they still did not have any witnesses or suspects. Then on July 4, 1969, a
second young couple were attacked by a gunman while in their car parked at Blue Rock Springs
Park in Vallejo; about 10 miles northwest of the Benecia murders. The female victim Darlene
Ferrin died from her wounds, but Michael Mageau who was shot in the leg, neck and jaw survived
and was able to tell the police what had occurred, along with a brief description of the gunman.
Later, the gunman phoned the Vallejo Police Department

Being An Outsider
No matter where one goes on this dismal chunk of rock, one will probably encounter an outsider.
In high school lunchrooms there is always at least one poor, sad teenager who has the unlucky
seat next to the trash can. In parks and school playgrounds there is always that one melancholy
kid that provides a stark contrast from the joyful shouts and screams coming from the other
playing children. The experience of being an outsider is an inescapable universal condition that
can be caused through social class, appearance, or other factors. Being an outsider is caused by
social class no matter where one is in the world. In Santha Rama Rau s memoir of her childhood
as an Indian girl in British controlled India, she talked about how she and her sister were seen as
outsiders in their British run school... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Ryszard Kapuscinski s lecture, Encountering the Other: The Challenge for the 21st Century ,
Kapuscinski argues that everyone is part of another group that is deemed the Other .
Kapuscinski states that Others are indeed Others, but for those Others, I am the one who is
Other (Kapuscinski, 22). Thus, being an outsider is a universal condition since we are all the
Other to someone else. However, some might argue that being an outsider is not a universal
condition as humans are by nature social animals so being an outsider is a rare occurence. To
this, Kapuscinski also states that being an outsider is universal as ...the Other is a mirror into
which you peer...a mirror that unmasks and denudes, which we would prefer to avoid
(Kapuscinski, 28). In other words, being an outsider is a universal condition even though humans
are social animals because the Other is a reflection of qualities that define a person and humanity
in general. The quality of being in outsider is universal as everyone is an outsider to someone else
and outsiders are simply reflections of who humanity

Neorealism Kim Jong-Na
North Korea s nuclear program is making advances daily. This authoritarian regime, which rules
over approximately twenty five million people, has to take calculated actions in order to remain
relevant internally, as well as internationally. The nuclear program is raising concerns across the
international system. At a superficial level, Kim Jong un is perceived as a mentally unable tyrant,
but in reality, is performing calculated actions. North Koreas nuclear program identifies power
balancing actions. Through military power, Kim Jong un is seeking to maximize long term
viability of the regime. This phenomenon that best explains this is through the neorealist
perspective.
Theoretical Foundation Neorealism or neorealism relies on the assumption that states are only
interested in survival. The main actors in this perspective are great powers. These states are
considered rational actors. However, one state can never be certain of the actions of other states. It
is because of this structure that these states operate in a state of anarchy within the system. Due to
this structure, states are always in a state of fear. This fear results from the intentions of other
states. The best action for a state that wants security is for the state become more powerful. The
stronger, and more powerful a state becomes relative to other states, it reduces the likelihood of a
conflict. This is in the relative senses, not absolute. Thus states will always be looking to exploit
opportunities

We are surrounded by organizations and we participate in them as members, employees, customers,
and clients. Most of our life is spent in organization, and they supply the goods and services on
which we depend to live. Organizations on the other hand depend on people, and without people,
they would disappear. Factors Contributing to the Growing Importance of HRM a. Accommodation
to workers needs Workers are demanding that organizations accommodate their personal needs by
instituting such programs as flexible work schedules, parental leave, child care and elder care
assistance, and job sharing. The human resource department plays a central role in establishing and
implementing policies designed to reduce the friction between organizational demands and family
responsibilities. b. Increased complexity of the Manager s job Management has become an
increasingly complex and demanding job for many reasons, including foreign competition, new
technology, expanding scientific information, and rapid change. Therefore, organizations frequently
ask human resource managers for assistance in making strategic business decisions and in matching
the distinctive competencies of the firm s human resources to the mission of the organization.
Executives need assistance from the human resource department in matters of recruitment,
performance evaluation, compensation, and discipline. c. Legislation and litigation The enactment
of state laws has contributed enormously

In everyday life in regular basis we as humans undergo such experiences but we forget them, we

friendships and meaningful bonds in the play. Society perceives loyalty as the faithfulness in those
in relationships and those that have created a certain bond, and honesty as sincere without deceit or
untruthfulness. This paper focuses on Othello, arguing that the traditional ideas of loyalty, with an
emphasis on honesty, in relationships should be rethought through the many characters interactions
and motives. By examining how traditional definitions of loyalty and honesty in ... Show more

Othello married Desdemona out of his love for her, but eventually kills her because he no longer
believes that she is loyal, while Emilia, Desdemona s attendant and Iago s wife, tries to convince
him otherwise and calls Iago a betrayer.
Shakespeare does not waste any time developing the manipulative character of Iago, as his
Machiavellian actions are introduced in the first scene of Othello. Iago is a soldier in the
Venetian army, who wanted the position of the lieutenant. When Othello, the Venetian army
general, appoints Cassio to this position instead of Iago, he begins to portray a revengeful
character with problematic actions. When Iago states, I am not what I am (1.1.64), this is the
first notion that the audience and the characters will not know who he is because his thoughts
and his actions are different. He says this to prove that Othello truly does not know who he is
and that he may seem good on the outside, but it bad on the inside. In his article, I am not what I
am Destructive Emotions in an Organizational Hierarchy: The Case of Othello and Iago, Chris
Poulson argues that Iago is Shakespeare s most complex and powerful character as we see him
plotting revenge and his hatred for Othello in the first scene, which sets the tone for what is to
come in the tragedy.

Analysis Of The Showdown At House Of Blue Leaves Scene In...
Since the 1990 s Quentin Tarantino has been viewed as one of the most iconic directors of
modern cinema. His most praised scenes are always his combat scenes, or the finals scenes of
each film. While there are plenty of good combat scenes in each Quentin Tarantino film, the
Showdown at House of Blue Leaves scene from Kill BillVol. 1 (2003) is by far the most beautiful
and impactful. Kill Bill Vol. 1 follows an female ex assassin The Bride on a brutal
Atkinson 2 revenge filled journey. Within the scene Showdown at House of Blue Leaves, through
the use of mise en scГЁne, sound, and cinematography, Quentin Tarantinobeautifully reflects the
emotions and capability of The Bride and her enemy O ren Ishii.
Firstly, through the use of mise en scГЁne, at the beginning of the scene, Quentin Tarantino
displays and manages to symbolize the complete contrasts of how the two characters are feeling.
The setting of a film is the most fundamental featur[e] of mise en scГЁne. (Corrigan and White,
69) The Bride has just finished maiming and killing 88 fully trained assassins, and now walks
out onto the rooftop garden of O ren Ishii s House Of Blue Leaves. The contrast of the inside of
the house compared to the outside of the house, makes it appear as if The Bride is literally
walking into a movie screen, hinting towards the next scene holding a different tone from the
previous one feeling like it is from a different movie. This indeed happens, as the battle between

The Red Pyramid Cultural Differences
Egyptian culture is quite different from mine; on the other hand, there are some similarities
between the two. The book which I am comparing and contrasting is The Red Pyramid by Rick

going to go through various topics and aspects dealing with the two cultures and comparing and
contrasting them. In my opinion the biggest differences between the Egyptian and my culture is
probably religion. First off Sadie and Carter are polytheistic. This means they believe in more
than on god. I on the other hand an monotheistic. I am catholic so I believe in one god. I believe
that god created everything on his own. The Egyptian mythology explanation for the world is So

Collecting data on social entrepreneurs is problematic for a number of reasons. For instance, the
nascency of the field means that there are relatively few (as compared with fields like commercial
entrepreneurship or family firms) potential subjects for those wanting to study founders of social
ventures. Moreover, due to the global nature of the field, social entrepreneurs tend to be a disbursed
group. Add to this the fact that there is little government mandated public information on most
social enterprises (as is the case with publically traded firms, for example), and one can understand
why few empirical studies on social entrepreneurship have gone beyond case studies. This is ...

The Cask Of Amontillado, And The Masque Of The Red Death
Edgar Allen Poe, a master of suspense, wrote stories over a hundred and fifty years ago that
remain popular today. One of Poe s suspense techniques in these short stories are unreliable
characters. An unreliable character is a character, whether in literature, film, or theatre, whose
credibility has been seriously compromised. The unreliable narrator forces the reader to ask
questions like, Is this true? rather than Who did it? or What happened? Poe uses unreliable
characters in many of his stories very effectively to keep the reader guessing what is ultimately
true. Three of his most famous stories, The Tell Tale Heart , The Black Cat, The Cask of
Amontilladoand The Masque of the Red Death . He illustrated how effective such narration is....

If the main character was not mad, it would still be a good story. However, Poe made this
narrator unreliable by making him mad. The narrator says, I heard all things in heaven and in the
earth. I heard many things in hell. How then am I mad? This shows that he is unreliable, he asks
himself how he is mad but, right before he said he heard things in heaven and hell. That is
unreliable. Poe also doesn t name the unreliable narrators in these stories which makes them
unreliable. He does name other characters that are more reliable including, the old man and Pluto
in The Tell Tale Heart and The Black Cat. Additionally, Poe uses violence and death to show that
the characters were unreliable. In The Black Cat the main character cut his cats eye out and then,
hangs his cat. In The Tell Tale Heart the main character chokes the old man to death. This is

Persuasive Essay On Government Spending
Government spending has been a major concern for numerous years. Many individuals believe the
United States is the land of opportunity and the most powerful country in the world, but we re
heading into another potential financial crisis. The U.S. has currently exceeded twenty trillion
dollars in national debt from fighting unnecessary wars, economic stimulus packages, taxcuts,
wasteful spending and lastly, government corruption. Although there is transparency in where
taxpayers funding is allocated, I believe more accountability is needed within our government. If
the United Statescontinues adding to its enormous debt, we could also experience a credit default.
If the U.S. were to default for example, the value of the dollar would drop, interest rates would rise
causing inflation and for these reasons, it could lead to another recession. While some
policymakers believe increasing taxes is the solution to our debt concerns, the government needs to
cut spending and eliminate deficits. Many economists claim that cutting spending will only hurt the
economy, but it has been attested spending cuts would shift resources from mismanaged
government programs to more productive private activities, furthermore increasing the overall
gross domestic product. I believe the government needs cuts within public spending in order to
reduce the national debt. The Department of Defense is allotted nearly six hundred billion dollars
annually to best serve and protect our country, our friends and allies, and our natural interests in
today s global security environment. While I m a supporter of the DOD s initiatives, I feel
administrative waste within the Pentagon could be addressed. According to the Defense Business
Board, the Defense Department was paying a staggering number of people 1,014,000 contractors,
civilians and uniformed personnel to fill back office jobs far from the front lines. Ironically, that
workforce only supported 1.3 million troops on active duty, the fewest since 1940. To add insult to
injury, an internal study has also been performed exposing the Pentagon burying evidence of $125
billion in bureaucratic waste according to the findings by The WashingtonPost. (Victoria Walker

Australia The Land Of Opportunity Essay
Before the 11th of September, 2001, Australia had been a home to the Al Jamil family. Granted, it
was never the same as their home country of Iraq, but it was a place to live and they were content.

It happened slowly at first, with strange looks in the street and the word terrorist constantly on

physical. Mama and Papa called the school, asking for answers, but were given none, being told

Disadvantages
Unfortunately, there are some disadvantages of wood based crates for shipping. Wood needs to be
treated. The finished product when the crate is all put together is too heavy, requires lifting
equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts or even cranes, they can even become a safety risk to
employees handling the crates because of splinters and concerns with handling to get inside. Wood
also sometimes has a smell to it that can be bad for the products that are inside. Wood has been
used for centuries for crafting. Wood based shipping containers are used to gather, store, shipand
protect consumer goods.
Paper based
As time changes, paper and paper based packaging have become key components in today society.
Communication, food, and consumer products are just a few of the things that are improved upon
and more easily accessible as a result of paper and paper based packaging (American Forest and

The Energy Power Of Natural Resources Essay
Most of the energy to power our homes comes from fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas.
Due to environmental concerns there has been a considerable drive to move away from these
finite resources to renewable forms of energy. Harnessing the power of natural resources has
seen significant developments over the past three decades. The use of solar energy to power our
homes has, arguably, seen the most advancement. The sun is made up of helium and hydrogen
atoms and emits radiant energy. Nuclear fusion is the process by which these elements are
transformed. Nuclear fusion is, the combination of two small atomic nuclei to produce one

one helium atom through nuclear fusion. However, the new helium atom has less mass than the
beginning hydrogen atoms. The left over matter is not lost but transformed into radiant energy.
The law of conservation of energy states, Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only
transformed (Hill, McCreary pg. 444). The by product of this transformation of atoms is the left
over radiant energy becomes solar energy here on Earth. So how do we channel the sun s radiant
power into useable solar energy? With the use of photovoltaic (PV) cells. PV cells are used to
collect sunlight and convert it into electricity. According to Kathie Zipp with Solar Power World,
A solar panel, or module, is a series of interconnected silicon cells

Jane Adams Dissent From Militaristic Imperialism Analysis
While it seems that many Americans, businessmen and politicians, eventually saw the war and the
annexation of foreign lands as a good, necessary and honorable endeavor, there were still many
more who felt the imperialism of US policy was not only unnecessary but also destructive to the
US way of life. In the next section of the Imperial Surge, the essays focus on the anti imperialist
who publicly denounced the US and what was happening in the Philippines and Hawaii.
In President Cleveland s Opposition to the Annexation of Hawaii , Thomas Osborne discusses the
reasons why President Cleveland denounced the annexation of Hawaii. In 1893, President Harrison
s administration assisted American sugar planters and overthrew the Hawaiian Queen. ... Show more

discusses the American writers who were critics of the events in the Philippines. There were a few
American writers who supported the American interventions in the Philippines. The number who
opposed the Philippine policies greatly outnumbered the supporters. The most effective writers were
the satirists. Even Theodore Roosevelt admitted to enjoying the observations of Mr. Dooley,
Finley Peter Dunne s philosophical Irish American saloon keeper... (133). Samuel Clemens also
used his pen name, Mark Twain, to attack the administration. He had told a New York newspaper
that he had become convinced that the aim of American policy was not redemption but conquest.
(134). Anti imperialist poets gave the most stinging critics. Imperialism in their eyes was made
doubly wrong by being wrapped in the humbuggery of benevolent assimilation, Christian duty,
and the expansion of liberty. (136). The poets were using the American Dream as the victim of
the Imperialistic policies that the US government was following. American writers varied in the
degree that they were willing to dissent. As was already stated, poets and satirists were in direct
opposition, while college professors were more moderate and literary magazines and journals were
evenly divided. While they were vocal about their beliefs, is seemed to do little to influence either
the public or the

Summary and Critique of The Gift of Sex Essay
A Book Review of The Gift of Sex University Abstract This paper is a summary of the book The
Gift of Sex along with my responses for each section in the book. Along with the physical aspect
of sex, there is a spiritual aspect of sex, which is mostly neglected by today s culture and even by
Christians. The authors believe that sex is also a spiritual and emotional act, involving the total
person, the body, soul and spirit. There is a connection with the sexual relationship of a husband
and his wife, and the intimate relationship of God and man. Revelation of this reality would bring
freedom and fulfillment in God and in marriage. There are many aspects to a sexual relationship
between a husband and wife,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scriptures such as Jeremiah 7:9, 23:10; Isaiah 62:5; and the entire book of Hosea reveal that the
relationship of God and His people is compared to a marriage relationship. The symbolism of the
bride and groom is depicted in the New Testament in scriptures such as Ephesians 5 and
Revelation 19:6 7. The authors believe that sex is not just for unity and procreation, but also for
pleasure in the marriage relationship. The Song of Songs is poetry of the erotic relationship
between a man and his wife, which is filled with passionate feelings. Christ has broken down the
barriers between men and women, and therefore they do not have to live by different standards
of sexual pleasure any longer. Men and women are equal in terms of value, ability, and position
before God. Therefore, both husband and wife are commanded to give themselves to each other
in marriage, with love being the guiding principle for sexual behavior. Penner and Penner (2003)
believe that, it is important for Christian couples to understand the Bible s pro sex message
(Kindle Location 425). I agree that sexuality reflects an aspect of the image of God in us and I
believe that the church should openly speak out about the biblical perspective of the gift of sex.
The concept of marriage is portrayed in the relationship the church has with Christ. God desires an
intimate relationship with each one of us; one that reflects the depth of a sexual relationship
between a man and a woman. Sexual

The Post Watergate Era
Born on May 29, 1955, John Hinckley Jr. suffered from depression and obsessive tendencies
throughout his life. (The Biograpghy.com, 2015) Garnering an obsession with Jodie Foster due to
the frequent viewing of the movie Taxi Driver, he soon began his fascination with killing the
President in order to impress her. With the purchase of a .22 caliber Saturday Night Special bought
from a pawnshop for $25, Hinckley decided it was time. On March 30, 1981, while leaving the

Mikhail Gorbachev had taken power of the Soviet Union resulting in the introduction of

contrast, had the Cold War not have ended the United States would continue paying trillions of
dollars with the great possibility of nuclear war. Bomb shelters along with nuclear silos would be
in every backyard following more regional conflicts with smaller countries. Less we forget the
taking down of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989 allowing East and West merge freely in

Adoption and Usage rate Because the system is capable of advancing quality of care in numerous
ways, the healthcare service providers have been considering to implement the technology in their
institutions since the system has been commercially available in the market place since 2006 (Ford,
McAlenrney, Phillips, Menachemi, and Rudolph, 2008). Although a good number of institutions
have been analyzing the possibility of adopting the system, until recently, it was estimated that only
5% of U.S. hospitals had the system in operation (American Hospital Association Archive). Another
study, a 2003 report from First Consulting Group for the American Hospital Association and the
Federation of American Hospitals, says that an estimated 5% of American hospitals used CPOE in
2002. Moreover, a report found that the amount of U.S. hospitals with completely available CPOE
system was estimated only 9.6% in 2002 [Ash et al, 2004]. Another report from the Leapfrog Group
titled Healthcare Benchmarks and Quality Improvement has estimated that about 10% of all U.S.
hospitals would have completed CPOE implementationby the end of 2006 [Ash et al, 2004]. Add a
transition clause here, according to the Leapfrog Group CPOE evaluation tool, it was reported that
a mere 8% U.S. hospitals were using the system (Anderson, 2009) 120. Not only the
implementation rate but also the usage rate of the system is very slow in recent time. In support of
this statement, it was reported that a group of top

Decision Making Of The Workplace
Each and everyone of us go day in and day out making decisions. Some of these decisions that we
as individuals make can impact numerous of aspects of our life. According to authors Robins
and Judge (2009), decision making occurs as a reaction to a problem (Robins Judge 2009, p.
147). It is important to truly understand the importance of the decisions that we make throughout
our everyday life. With job rotation and the job characteristic model decision making is in the
workplace is truly important. Decision Making in the Workplace As we make decision
throughout our day, for most of us we make a lot of decisions within the workplace. Those who
are in leadership roles make decisions within the organization such as determining organizational
goals, missions, visions, and other decisions that can greatly affect the organization either in a
positive or negative way. According to Robins and Judge everyone play in the role of decision
making in the workplace. Non managerial employees also make decisions that affect their jobs
and the organizations for which they work. They decide whether to come to work on any given
day, how much effort to put forth at work, and whether to comply with a request made by the
boss (Robins Judge 2009, p. 147). These particular decisions that non managerial employees make
can affect the workplace in numerous of ways such as impacting views and decisions of other
employees, impacted the set atmosphere in the workplace as well as impacting

Lending Tree Home Loans And Home Loan Lenders
Lending Tree portends to act as an online conciliator between individuals looking for home loans
and home loan lenders. The premise is that by connecting several lenders with the client, or rather
making several lenders aware of a potential customer, that the loan with the best interest rate will
rise to the top of the stack. Lending Tree claims to offer debtconsolidation and to lower one s
monthly interestrates. The company s advertising campaign seems to suggest that Lending Tree
will act as a negotiator for the client, urging banks to compete for your business. While this is
not exactly the case, using the site essentially amounts to shopping around for a better deal
which, of course, is better than buying on impulse. Lending Tree Home Loans takes your
information, including your financial goals, and runs a credit check. At this point the service
submits this information to a number of lenders. This is meant to create the impression that
banks are competing for your business, when in fact the client is only receiving basic service
offers from lenders who have been made aware of her or him by Lending Tree. Many customers
have had the experience of receiving offers from lenders during non business hours within minutes
of submitting their query. This is suspicious, as it seems clear that in these cases Lending Tree has
acted as little more than an advertising service for the lenders. This would mean that Lending Tree
s real clientele are the lending firms, who are

Rwanda Genocide Sociology
The term genocide encompasses some of the darkest times in the history of the world. There is
no definitive answer as to what drives one sect of society to try and eliminate another based
purely on their cultural, racial, national or political affiliation either by birth or by choice. During
World War II, between six and eleven million Jewish people were systematically exterminated by
the Nazis. Although it was the most prolific of genocides, it was not the first or the last of this
atrocity to occur. In 1994, genocide occurred in the African nation of Rwanda. At the time it
happened, the world paid little heed while almost a million people were killed. After the incident,
the reaction of the United Nations came under scrutiny as researchers... Show more content on

This had to do with the peacekeepers that were sent to Rwanda, and how long they should stay
there. The UN wanted to pull out troops, but they did not want to be hated. During the time the
plan was being approved President Clinton did not want to commit any forces to Rwanda.
Because of this, the US was scrutinized by the media and asked why they said no, but they did
try to help clean up the situation. Althorugh troops were sent, they did not arrive until the middle
of July. Though they were late, this did help to receive any other refugees to get away and to
clam the genocide. But only fifty US vehicles were really sent to help them get out, the extra
troops were sent by the UN Secretary General for peacekeeping duties along with 200 artillery
pieces for a thousand men. Thanks to all the plans that had been approved and suggested by
others to appease the situation thought many have died a few were saved thanks to UN efforts
and as all know thans to a certain owner of a hotel who convinced a UN officer to take refugees
out of Rwanda despite the risk of taking them out. There were many road blocks that were
swarming with Hutus trying to stop them , but it was too late and because of this many more
lives were saved so the UN sending peacekeepers actually saved lives CONCLUSION In
conclusion, the Rwandan genocide clearly stemmed from decades of feuds and led to the death of
over 800,000 people. Some people think the genocide could have been prevented if the United
States and the United Nations would have done more sooner. Looking at the history of Alexander

  • 2. Persuasive Essay On Slam Poetry Harold Bloom has famously said that slam poetry is the death of art . But is this statement actually true? Before getting into why slam poetry should or should not be considered art it is important to first establish a definition of what art actually is. According to Dennis Dutton, in order for something to be considered art it must bring direct pleasure to the writer or the audience, it must include emotional saturation, and it must challenge an individual intellectually (Torres). With all of that in mind, it seems that Bloom s statement does not stand true. Slam poetryis art because it brings pleasure to individuals, it includes emotional saturation and it challenges an individual intellectually. Slam poetry is art because not only does it bring pleasure to the writer, it can also bring pleasure to the audience. Some may ask why pleasure is important or even relevant when talking about art. Pleasure is relevant because it is imperative that a person enjoys what they are doing or it would be considered work. In What Teachers Make by Taylor Mali you can see that slam brings him pleasure through his performance. If someone tries to judge you / by what you make, you give them this (31 32). Essay on Home Sweet Home Home Sweet Home How would you feel if you went into a business, to fill out an application for a job, and had to leave the section blank that was asking for your address? I am sure that you might feel lost, sad, or even embarrassed. On the other hand, how would you feel if you were able to fill in the section asking for your address, but did not feel like you could call this place home? Maybe you would have feelings of being alone, not loved, or not even cared about. I strongly disagree and believe that if someone cannot consider their house a home, it has a lot to do with the attitudes of those living in it. I also believe that a house is the place where most teenagers remain until, at least, the age of eighteen because of not being able to afford their own house. On the other hand, they all belong to a home where, whether or not they admit it, they will always have a loving family to welcome them into their hearts. Many of them tend to feel this way because as they grow older they begin to only think of themselves and become very self centered or selfish. These feelings of selfishness usually do not change until teenagers begin progressing into adulthood. If a teenager sees how their selfishness negatively affects their family and they begin to change their ways, while still in their teenage years, this change is usually the cause of a bad event that left them lonely and in the dark. This event could have been something along the lines of tough love from family members which caused this person to look back on events they regretted from the past and helped them to look forward to changing these actions for a better future. Many of my friends complain about not being happy at home and how much they just cannot wait to move out of the house. When I hear them complaining about this, the first thing that comes to my mind is, igrave; How do you expect yourself to experience the true feeling of a home if you never make the best ... • 5. New Medical Findings From Anterior Cruciate Ligament... As new medical findings become disseminated present day practices are subject to amendment, exposing the inherent nature and complexity of the human body. This is particularly true in a health care setting where a top down processing approach is adopted to study and treat complex comorbidities. The problem is that, while health care professionals acknowledge the limitations of the traditional top down approach, they rarely appropriate the necessary time needed to respond to such constraints. This study intended to identify alternative methods of responding to disparities seen amongst athletes recovering from anterior cruciate ligamentreconstruction (ACLR) by embracing the inherent nature and complexity of the human body. Rehabilitative care for an ACLR is invariably complex and delicate in nature. Inexperience, rapidly changing technologies and procedures, unpredictable psychosocial environments, and increasingly demanding training standards brings immense challenges for those health care professionals involved with returning an athlete to their pre injury level (Morrison Waltner Toews, (2010). Many factors have been found to affect the quality of recovery. However, it is generally assumed that each factor is mutually exclusive from each other (Duquin et. al., (2010). As a consequence, little is known about the strength and direction of association between each variable. Before we can engage in improved rehabilitative care for ACLR, it is important to take a step back ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to explain how a serial killer is different than a normal homicide is to first understand how a serial killer operates. In high school lunchrooms there is always at least one poor, sad teenager who has the unlucky seat next to the trash can. The experience of being an outsider is an inescapable universal condition that can be caused through social class, appearance, or other factors. Thus, being an outsider is a universal condition since we are all the Other to someone else. • 13. Neorealism Kim Jong-Na North Korea s nuclear program is making advances daily. This authoritarian regime, which rules over approximately twenty five million people, has to take calculated actions in order to remain relevant internally, as well as internationally. The nuclear program is raising concerns across the international system. At a superficial level, Kim Jong un is perceived as a mentally unable tyrant, but in reality, is performing calculated actions. North Koreas nuclear program identifies power balancing actions. Through military power, Kim Jong un is seeking to maximize long term viability of the regime. This phenomenon that best explains this is through the neorealist perspective. Theoretical Foundation Neorealism or neorealism relies on the assumption that states are only interested in survival. The main actors in this perspective are great powers. These states are considered rational actors. However, one state can never be certain of the actions of other states. It is because of this structure that these states operate in a state of anarchy within the system. Due to this structure, states are always in a state of fear. This fear results from the intentions of other states. The best action for a state that wants security is for the state become more powerful. The stronger, and more powerful a state becomes relative to other states, it reduces the likelihood of a conflict. This is in the relative senses, not absolute. Society perceives loyalty as the faithfulness in those in relationships and those that have created a certain bond, and honesty as sincere without deceit or untruthfulness. Iago is a soldier in the Venetian army, who wanted the position of the lieutenant. When Othello, the Venetian army general, appoints Cassio to this position instead of Iago, he begins to portray a revengeful character with problematic actions. When Iago states, I am not what I am (1.1.64), this is the first notion that the audience and the characters will not know who he is because his thoughts and his actions are different. He says this to prove that Othello truly does not know who he is and that he may seem good on the outside, but it bad on the inside. • 24. Analysis Of The Showdown At House Of Blue Leaves Scene In... Since the 1990 s Quentin Tarantino has been viewed as one of the most iconic directors of modern cinema. His most praised scenes are always his combat scenes, or the finals scenes of each film. While there are plenty of good combat scenes in each Quentin Tarantino film, the Showdown at House of Blue Leaves scene from Kill BillVol. 1 (2003) is by far the most beautiful and impactful. Kill Bill Vol. 1 follows an female ex assassin The Bride on a brutal Atkinson 2 revenge filled journey. Within the scene Showdown at House of Blue Leaves, through the use of mise en scГЁne, sound, and cinematography, Quentin Tarantinobeautifully reflects the emotions and capability of The Bride and her enemy O ren Ishii. Firstly, through the use of mise en scГЁne, at the beginning of the scene, Quentin Tarantino displays and manages to symbolize the complete contrasts of how the two characters are feeling. The setting of a film is the most fundamental featur[e] of mise en scГЁne. (Corrigan and White, 69) The Bride has just finished maiming and killing 88 fully trained assassins, and now walks out onto the rooftop garden of O ren Ishii s House Of Blue Leaves. The contrast of the inside of the house compared to the outside of the house, makes it appear as if The Bride is literally walking into a movie screen, hinting towards the next scene holding a different tone from the previous one feeling like it is from a different movie. Moreover, due to the global nature of the field, social entrepreneurs tend to be a disbursed group. One of Poe s suspense techniques in these short stories are unreliable characters. An unreliable character is a character, whether in literature, film, or theatre, whose credibility has been seriously compromised. The unreliable narrator forces the reader to ask questions like, Is this true? rather than Who did it? or What happened? • 28. Persuasive Essay On Government Spending Government spending has been a major concern for numerous years. Many individuals believe the United States is the land of opportunity and the most powerful country in the world, but we re heading into another potential financial crisis. The U.S. has currently exceeded twenty trillion dollars in national debt from fighting unnecessary wars, economic stimulus packages, taxcuts, wasteful spending and lastly, government corruption. Although there is transparency in where taxpayers funding is allocated, I believe more accountability is needed within our government. If the United Statescontinues adding to its enormous debt, we could also experience a credit default. If the U.S. were to default for example, the value of the dollar would drop, interest rates would rise causing inflation and for these reasons, it could lead to another recession. While some policymakers believe increasing taxes is the solution to our debt concerns, the government needs to cut spending and eliminate deficits. Many economists claim that cutting spending will only hurt the economy, but it has been attested spending cuts would shift resources from mismanaged government programs to more productive private activities, furthermore increasing the overall gross domestic product. I believe the government needs cuts within public spending in order to reduce the national debt. The Department of Defense is allotted nearly six hundred billion dollars annually to best serve and protect our country, our friends and allies, and our natural interests in today s global security environment. While I m a supporter of the DOD s initiatives, I feel administrative waste within the Pentagon could be addressed. According to the Defense Business Board, the Defense Department was paying a staggering number of people 1,014,000 contractors, civilians and uniformed personnel to fill back office jobs far from the front lines. Ironically, that workforce only supported 1.3 million troops on active duty, the fewest since 1940. The Song of Songs is poetry of the erotic relationship between a man and his wife, which is filled with passionate feelings. Christ has broken down the barriers between men and women, and therefore they do not have to live by different standards of sexual pleasure any longer. Men and women are equal in terms of value, ability, and position before God. Therefore, both husband and wife are commanded to give themselves to each other in marriage, with love being the guiding principle for sexual behavior. Penner and Penner (2003) believe that, it is important for Christian couples to understand the Bible s pro sex message (Kindle Location 425). I agree that sexuality reflects an aspect of the image of God in us and I believe that the church should openly speak out about the biblical perspective of the gift of sex. The concept of marriage is portrayed in the relationship the church has with Christ. God desires an intimate relationship with each one of us; one that reflects the depth of a sexual relationship between a man and a woman. Sexual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Computerized Provider Order Entry Adoption and Usage rate Because the system is capable of advancing quality of care in numerous ways, the healthcare service providers have been considering to implement the technology in their institutions since the system has been commercially available in the market place since 2006 (Ford, McAlenrney, Phillips, Menachemi, and Rudolph, 2008). Although a good number of institutions have been analyzing the possibility of adopting the system, until recently, it was estimated that only 5% of U.S. hospitals had the system in operation (American Hospital Association Archive). Another study, a 2003 report from First Consulting Group for the American Hospital Association and the Federation of American Hospitals, says that an estimated 5% of American hospitals used CPOE in 2002. Moreover, a report found that the amount of U.S. hospitals with completely available CPOE system was estimated only 9.6% in 2002 [Ash et al, 2004]. Another report from the Leapfrog Group titled Healthcare Benchmarks and Quality Improvement has estimated that about 10% of all U.S. hospitals would have completed CPOE implementationby the end of 2006 [Ash et al, 2004]. Add a transition clause here, according to the Leapfrog Group CPOE evaluation tool, it was reported that a mere 8% U.S. hospitals were using the system (Anderson, 2009) 120. Not only the implementation rate but also the usage rate of the system is very slow in recent time. In support of this statement, it was reported that a group of top ... • 46. Lending Tree Home Loans And Home Loan Lenders Lending Tree portends to act as an online conciliator between individuals looking for home loans and home loan lenders. The premise is that by connecting several lenders with the client, or rather making several lenders aware of a potential customer, that the loan with the best interest rate will rise to the top of the stack. Lending Tree claims to offer debtconsolidation and to lower one s monthly interestrates. The company s advertising campaign seems to suggest that Lending Tree will act as a negotiator for the client, urging banks to compete for your business. While this is not exactly the case, using the site essentially amounts to shopping around for a better deal which, of course, is better than buying on impulse. Lending Tree Home Loans takes your information, including your financial goals, and runs a credit check. At this point the service submits this information to a number of lenders. This is meant to create the impression that banks are competing for your business, when in fact the client is only receiving basic service offers from lenders who have been made aware of her or him by Lending Tree. Many customers have had the experience of receiving offers from lenders during non business hours within minutes of submitting their query. This is suspicious, as it seems clear that in these cases Lending Tree has acted as little more than an advertising service for the lenders. This would mean that Lending Tree s real clientele are the lending firms, who are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Rwanda Genocide Sociology The term genocide encompasses some of the darkest times in the history of the world. There is no definitive answer as to what drives one sect of society to try and eliminate another based purely on their cultural, racial, national or political affiliation either by birth or by choice. During World War II, between six and eleven million Jewish people were systematically exterminated by the Nazis. Although it was the most prolific of genocides, it was not the first or the last of this atrocity to occur. In 1994, genocide occurred in the African nation of Rwanda. At the time it happened, the world paid little heed while almost a million people were killed. After the incident, the reaction of the United Nations came under scrutiny as researchers... The UN wanted to pull out troops, but they did not want to be hated. During the time the plan was being approved President Clinton did not want to commit any forces to Rwanda. Because of this, the US was scrutinized by the media and asked why they said no, but they did try to help clean up the situation. Althorugh troops were sent, they did not arrive until the middle of July. Though they were late, this did help to receive any other refugees to get away and to clam the genocide. But only fifty US vehicles were really sent to help them get out, the extra troops were sent by the UN Secretary General for peacekeeping duties along with 200 artillery pieces for a thousand men. Thanks to all the plans that had been approved and suggested by others to appease the situation thought many have died a few were saved thanks to UN efforts and as all know thans to a certain owner of a hotel who convinced a UN officer to take refugees out of Rwanda despite the risk of taking them out. There were many road blocks that were swarming with Hutus trying to stop them , but it was too late and because of this many more lives were saved so the UN sending peacekeepers actually saved lives CONCLUSION In conclusion, the Rwandan genocide clearly stemmed from decades of feuds and led to the death of over 800,000 people. Some people think the genocide could have been prevented if the United States and the United Nations would have done more sooner. Looking at the history of Alexander ...
