The Importance Of Maths
For many students, maths is a language only spoken at school, but maths is a well
spoken language in my home. My mother s love for maths has inevitably infected
me with the desire to solve problems with logical reason. I feel that a solution to one
question in maths may open up more questions ranging in different domains of
mathematics. Maths has helped me to discover different ways to achieve solutions

Gustav Holst s The Planets
Gustav Holst was a British composer born in Cheltenham in 1874. The Planets
nearly took Gustav two years to compose because he had other jobs on the side, like
teaching, which he did almost his entire life. He believed that The Planets wasn t his
best works, though it was an immediate success. Along with the success of The
Planetshis work load and his stress levels also rose. In 1924 he was ordered to take a
break, by his doctor, in the country where he could compose his music without any
problems or other stresses. Gustav Holstdied on the 25th of May 1934 of congestive
heart failure. The live performance of The Planets that I observed was conducted by
Maciej Tarnowski. He started experimenting and learning how to play instruments...
The hall was very well lit the whole time during the performance. I expected for the
hall to be dimmed just to make the room feel more intimate, but I guess I had a
bias idea of what a classical performance should look like. I found the venue to be
small compared to what o was anticipating. The walls to the venue seemed to be
made out of a white marble and it had a huge beautiful organ as the back drop.
There were also two balconies, one in each side of the room, and a large chandelier
in the middle that shined on the orchestra below. The venue could probably be
classified as a warm/ friendly environment.
The attire of the orchestra was the usual black and white tux for men and the black
dressy dresses for the ladies. Being that it was a classical music event, I didn t see
anything out of the ordinary with the outfits and the colors didn t call my attention
in any way either. It was the normal, expected look that you would see for these
type of performers to have. I saw a few lace dresses, some had embroidery, and others
were just plain black dresses. As for the men they looked like copies of one another.
They had the same bow tie, same dress shirt and the same suit

Omega 3 Fatty Acids Fatty Acids have a linked chain of carbon atoms. These atoms
can be unsaturated or saturated. Saturated means that there is only a single bond in
carbon atoms, which leaves hydrogen to have the rest of them. Unsaturated means
that there has to be at least once carbon atom that needs to have a double bond. In
the case of Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Essential Fatty acids are polyunsaturated.
Polyunsaturated fat is fat that has a lot of double bonds in between carbon atoms.
They have to contain at least two double bonds. A double bond is when there are two
atoms that share two electrons. In all omega 3 fatty acids, the first double bond is
located between the third and fourth carbon atom counting from the methyl end of
the fatty acid(n 3) (Higdon). There is a double bond that is the first on the carbon
chain in between the third and forth chain. These double bonds are on a carbon
chains which are in all omega 3 fatty acids. Another example of another fatty acid
is omega 9. Omega 9 has its first double bond in between the ninth and tenth carbon
atom. Omega 3 fatty acids are very good for a person to have. There are different
types of omega 3 fatty acids that we as humans can put into our diet. The two major
types of omega 3 fatty acids are alpha linolenic acid (ALA) and the other is
eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Alpha linolenic acids

ABSTRACT
Buchi Emecheta is one of the growing numbers of African women writers who have
set their authorial eyes on the conditions of women living both on their home
continent and abroad. She takes her place among Tsitsi Dangarembga, Miriama Ba,
Bessie Head, Ama Ata Aidoo, Lauretta Ngcobo, and Lindsey Collen, to name a few,
as writers who have formed an intense new voice of African womanhood. Emecheta
has published more than twenty works; including the novels Double Yoke, The
Bride Price, Head above Water, Destination Biafra, and Kehinde. Each is an
exploration of what it means to be a woman and a mother in rapidly evolving
societies where traditions and mores are in a constant state of flux. While some of
her novels mirror her own experience as an expatriate living in London, her work
mostly focuses on her native country of Nigeria. The Joys of Motherhood is among
her most pivotal works, as it offers critical commentary on colonialism, tradition,
