A car wash is a facility used to clean the
exterior and, in some cases, the interior of
motor vehicles. It may be Automatic or

• Hand Car Wash
• Self Service Car Wash

Hand Car Wash
• Vehicle is washed by employees
• Cars will be placed on a conveyor as
multiple attendants wash the car
Self Service Facility
• Here customer does the washing
• Coin operated
Mobile Service
• A vehicle which is fully equipped powered by a mobile
unit and is outfitted with everything needed to wash
the car.
• Sometimes these systems are mounted on trailers, on
trucks, or in vans.
Full Service
• A Conveyor belt takes the car to several
washing machines
• The entire system is automated
Advantages
• It can be a good business for people
• Includes time savings, a lack of
physical effort, and a fairly thorough
clean.
• Also can spray underneath the car for
easy removal of dirt or mud
Disadvantages
• Risk of damage to the car, spot
washing and an inability to pay close
attention to trouble spots.
• It can sometimes leave patches of dirt
or grime untouched.

•Support the tube

PIPES

NOZZLE
•Used to direct or modify the flow of water
•Three nozzles are provided on the brush
casing which rotates as the fluid emerges out
from the nozzle.
BRUSH
•Used to clean the vehicle.
•Remove dust and dirt
•Should withstand impact of water jet from
the nozzle

Principle of Operation
•Water enters the tube at a certain pressure
and velocity
•Ejects out of the nozzle at a high velocity
and high kinetic energy
•This energy is utilized in the rotation of the
brush about its axis
• Tapered portion of the brush facilitates the
water to fall on the required surface
• High pressure air can also be used as an
alternative to water.
