This document summarizes the goals and structure of a local learning set in the North West Coast of England working towards making pregnancies smoke-free. The learning set aims to improve rates of smoke-free pregnancies by 2020 through better carbon monoxide monitoring and midwife advice. It will involve multiple local healthcare organizations and hold training events over 12 months to introduce quality improvement methods and a change package based on effective interventions. The next steps outlined are a zoom catch up and third learning set meeting focused on implementing and testing changes to support more smoke-free pregnancies.
