The document discusses innovative approaches to management that focus on building meaning, innovating management styles, accelerating learning, running experiments, embracing playfulness, nurturing happiness, and managing systems. It provides advice on delegation, celebrating learning over success or failure, documenting organizational culture, and using both hierarchical and network structures within organizations. Graphics illustrate concepts like the celebration grid and levels of delegation. The overall message is that non-traditional, people-focused approaches to management can make organizations more effective by prioritizing employee well-being, continuous learning, and flexibility over rigid controls.
To survive as a company, the organization needs to become a shapeshifter: sometimes hierarchical, sometimes networked; sometimes efficient, sometimes effective; sometimes great at execution, and other times great at innovation. You can only achieve this by motivating people to change continuously. To achieve this, we take a closer look at gamification and habit-forming. Because games and habits are the keys to intrinsic motivation and change. And you need those in your company to become a great shapeshifter!

20090507 Self Management for Self Development 64s ATI, EPI, Ramanthapur, Hy...viswanadham vangapally
Self-Management for Self-Development is one of the topics included in the One-week programme on Human Resources Development, organized by the Advanced Training Institute, Electronic Process Instrumentation, Ramanthpur, Hyderabad. Every person must consider himself or herself as a life-long learner. While during the early phases of life, parents and teachers are likely to provide the required guidance, during later part, every one has to assume responsibility on their own, for their self-development. Ability to manage oneself, time, resources, energy and everything else constitutes the beginning. Without self-management, you cannot hope to plan and achieve self-development. This presentation covers certain related aspects.
10 Simple ways to make your business more Joyful...and more productiveAmanda Gore
Joy is the new competitive advantage!
Success in business is always about feelings – the the way we feel about a product, organization or person influences how we behave and informs our decisions about how we spend, or who we conduct business with. When compared with industry competitors at the company level, organizations with more than four engaged employees for every one
actively disengaged employee saw 2.6 times more growth in earnings per share than those with less engaged workers.
Create a work environment that is fear free and joy filled - especially if you are a leader. Fear inhibits performance, creativity and blocks the ability to experience joy at work.
This presentation was used at a programme organized for the benefit of Non-agricultural Executives, held at Hyderabad. The presentation aims at motivating the participants to aim at excellence, in all their endeavours, whether personal or professional, as it would benefit one and all.

Does a company really need a head office? The new organizational structure of the 21st century is the network, not the hierarchy. And the focus of management should be on leadership, not governance. But how can you organize this?

No matter what you call it, the software development community is in need of people with a professional attitude towards their work. From self-motivation to goal setting, from connecting with peers to delegating work, there are a number of crucial behaviors that software testers and developers need to adopt to be able to call themselves "professionals".

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

41. The word management is
derived from the Italian word
maneggiare, which means
handling horses.
42. Giving and Taking Control
Quite often, when managers delegate work to
people or teams, they don’t give them clear
boundaries of control.
43. Delegation is not a binary thing. There are
more options than being a dictator or an
anarchist. The art of management is in
finding the right balance.
44. 1. Tell
You make a decision
for others and you
may explain your
motivation. A
discussion about it is
neither desired nor
assumed.
45. 2. Sell
You make a decision
for others but try to
convince them that
you made the right
choice, and you help
them feel involved.
46. 3. Consult
You ask for input first,
which you take into
consideration before
making a decision that
respects people’s
opinions.
47. 4. Agree
You enter into a
discussion with
everyone involved,
and as a group you
reach consensus about
the decision.
48. 5. Advise
You will offer others
your opinion and hope
they listen to your
wise words, but it will
be their decision, not
yours.
49. 6. Inquire
You first leave it to the
others to decide, and
afterwards, you ask
them to convince you
of the wisdom of their
decision.
50. 7. Delegate
You leave the decision
to them and you don’t
even want to know
about details that
would just clutter your
brain.
51. The 7 Levels of Delegation is a symmetrical model.
It works in both directions.
52. A delegation board gives managers “something to control”. It is
better that they push around the notes on a delegation board
rather than the people in their organization.
61. Argh, it’s difficult!
We now know that happiness is the
precursor to success, not merely the
result.
- Shawn Achor, The Happiness Advantage
Does employee satisfaction lead to
high performance? Probably, but [...]
the reverse effect is stronger.

a simple fact is…

63. What are the things
that make people
happy in their jobs?
64. Thank someone and be appreciative toward
your colleagues, every single day
105. Many organizations hold a yearly
company-wide values day where
everybody is invited […] to revisit the
organization’s purpose, values, and
ground rules and inquire how
they […] live up to them.
