M A G A Z I N E
I will use typical genre conventions of magazines to make it look realistic
The Masthead will be in either white or a saturated colour to establish brand identity
The main image will look straight at the camera, engaging with the audience and also fulfilling
a convention of real-life magazines
The coverlines will are usually on health, fashion and beauty, another convention of real-life
magazines
My magazine will have a house style, with the masthead consistently and the top and with the
main image in the centre focus.
A direct mode of address will be used, but not at the expense at sounding too colloquial,
subverting genre conventions
I will adopt hi-key lighting and make the main image less simplistic, such as using props to
create a statement. I will also use a more saturated colour palette to make the print front
cover more aesthetically pleasing.
W E B S I T E
In my website I will create subcategories of content that will appeal to the reader e.g Health
and Beauty etc.
My website will have a popup that will invite you to subscribe and/or offers a discount which
would appeal to a mass audience
The audio-visual element will come in a Q&A segment for their YouTube channel with one of
the subjects of the print editions. The questions will be sourced from the 'audience' asking
from a social media site e.g. Twitter which demonstrates cross-platform media convergence
and audience interaction.
The Masthead will be in the same font to create brand identity
I will also include varied subject content in order to appeal to a mass audience, male and
female, unlike the genre's typical female skew
My slogan will be consistent in both media forms to further show brand identity
