Katie wanted to create a fashion magazine and looked at other popular magazines for layout inspiration. She found a logo font that stood out and fit her magazine. Katie edited photos on the cover and spread to make them stand out on blue backgrounds by adjusting cyan and red tones. Her cover features the title in a prominent font with a model photo. The contents page places a photo on the right with text wrapping around it. While the layout and article writing could be improved, Katie is pleased with how the photos stand out on pages through editing.

2. I wanted to find out what type of magazine was popular and what It
needed to sell and be a popular magazine. I also wanted to look how
other magazines did their layout and what made them stand out from
the rest.

3. Put your logo design in say why you liked it
I liked the logo because It stands out and goes well with my
fashion magazine.
I used a site called DaFont to look at different types
of fonts to see which ones I liked the look of and if
they matched my magazine and stood out. These
are the 3 fonts I liked best and I ended up choosing
the middle one because it stood out and fit my
fashion magazine.

4. I didn’t edit he photo I used on the cover as I liked the way it looked, I just cut around the image and then put in
on a blue background which made the picture stand out. For my double page spread picture I messed around with
some effects and liked the way It came out so I did the same to my other photo’s. I did this by adding more cyan
or red to make the photo look lighter and stand out.

5. This is my magazine cover. I like the blue back
ground and the font of the title stands out and
catches you eye. I used the same font on the
cover lines as I liked the font.

6. This is my contents page. I liked the idea of
putting the photo on the right side then
writing around it. I like the little flower as it
shows a new page number and title.

7. This is my double page spread. The blue background and the title stand
out, and the way the pictures have been edited it also stands out. The
writing could have been better but I like the way its laid out.

8. Strengths
 Photo-shoot – I took a lot of
photo’s so I had a lot to choose
from.
 Pictures are clear and took in
good lighting so they were
easy to edit.
Weaknesses
 Layout – The idea I had in my
head didn’t come out on paper
as I thought they would.
 Article – Writing the article
was hard as I didn’t know what
to write.
