2. As you can see in the match of the day
magazine straight away you can see the bold
title in front of the title page. Mise en scene is
used here as you can see football is linked to
almost every image. Furthermore a large eye
catching image of two footballing celebrities
Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo who are
influential stars of the game. Additionally the
180m signing was in bold relating to Gareth
Bale’s 180m move to Real Madrid. Under it
there is a quote which grabs the reader “Best
double act in world footy!”. Also the I can see
the bar code at the bottom of the magazine
which is not too big or not too small. Also in
the top banner the use of posters is a good
incentive for a child to buy the magazine.
Relating to the audience as it being a male
characterised magazine you would imagine
that a lot of young boys would buy this.
MATCH OF THE DAY MAGAZINE
3. The word vogue straight away linking
to the image on the front cover as
vogue means fashion in French.
Rihanna is naturally a edgy person
but vogue changed her appearance to
suit the audience. Additionally her
name RIHANNA written in bold.
Image also links to the cover line as
links to the central image to the text.
The little show of flesh relates to the
Rihanna's persona but still matches
the elegant vogue audience.
VOGUE
4. GQ, which stands for gentleman's
quarterly which is a up market lifestyle
magazine. As you can see the central
image is used effectively as is linked
with the magazine name. This is shown
through the mix of Kevin Durant a
famous basketball player in a suit but
also playing basketball at the same
time. Furthermore you can see from
the magazine that is up market through
the limited use of colour: blue, white,
black and grey. Also the celebrities
name written in bold highlights the
relevance of the magazine which links
to the central image and draws
attention to the target audience.
GQ
5. I can see from this magazine that as vibe is
already a well known magazine is okay for
some of the magazine name not to be
hidden. Additionally I can see that they
used a celebrity as their central image. This
image is effective as the serious face that
T.I has matches his persona and reputation
in the R&B industry. Furthermore I can see
a limited use of colour mainly red, blue,
white and a shade of text. The cover stories
match the central image. This is a good use
of mise en scene as it mentions other
famous R&B well known celebs such as
Keri Hilson, Jay z, etc. Also something
which caught my eye and would attract an
audience of this type is that the word vibe
matches this R&B genre.
VIBE
6. This magazine seems to attract like a male
generated sporty audience. Floyd
Mayweather as the central image a man
normally who moves with a smile and walks
around egotistically may have been changed
to a serious look to suit the type of
audience the magazine is trying to attract.
Furthermore I can see at the bottom right
corner of the magazine hints of what is yet
to come in the magazine, (“10 essential
running shoes”) which is something that
would again attract such a sporty audience.
Additionally I can see that the magazine
costs £2. Which is not too pricey or not too
cheap and is probably target to a middle to
upper class sport audience.
