Isis Religion
Isis was the most beloved goddess in ancient Egypt, whose popularity spread to the Greco Roman
world, and then was Mourner. Could be Isis mourning Osirissuppressed by Christianity. Today, she is
worshiped by some Pagans. This article will discuss her history, her cult, and her mythology.
Isis History
Isis started out as an ancient Egyptian goddess, worshiped as the Divine Mother.
As a goddess, she not only was a mother goddess, she, with her husband the god Osiris, taught the arts
of civilization to humans, and supported the reign of the Pharaohs, or kings, of ancient Egypt.
She was also the goddess of magic, and was frequently portrayed with her son Horus on her lap,
emphasizing her role as mother.
Finally, she dealt with death and resurrection, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They find most of them, and put Osiris body back together.
Afterwards, Isis restores Osiris to life, and she becomes pregnant by him and gives birth to their son,
Horus.
The story ends with Horus avenging the death of his father on Set.
The myth of Isis and Osiris bears many similarities to similar myths of the Goddess and the
Dying/Rising God of the ancient Middle East and Mediterranean.
These myths together influenced the Jesus story in Christianity, especially the parts with Mary
Magdalene in them, such as Jesus crucifixion, death, and resurrection.
These facts show that Isis is a goddess who held and still holds appeal for her dealing with universal
concerns.
Conclusion
Isis started out as a popular goddess in ancient Egypt, who blessed the reign of kings, healed the sick,
protected the dead, raised her husband from the dead, who could change fate and destiny with magic,
and who was the ideal mother.
These aspects of her ensured she would become popular outside Egypt, and therefore her cult spread
from Egypt throughout the Mediterranean, and even northward to Great

The Construction Of The Parthenon In Athens, Greece
The Parthenon is located in Athens,Greece. It was constructed approximately in 447 BC and
completed around 432 BC as a temple dedicated to the Goddess Athena., which the original one was
destroyed in Persian Invasion of 480 BC. The Parthenon was used primarily as a treasury. In the sixth
century AD, it was converted into a Christian church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. During the
Ottoman conquest it became a Mosque which was around 1460 s. The Parthenon was partially
destroyed in 1687.
The architects were Iktinos and Kallikrates with a mention of Vitruv and dedicated to the Goddess
Athena Pallas or Parthenos (virgin). It s main function was to house the statues of Athena which were
made of gold and ivory by Phedias. The inner chamber was unusually large so it could house the
oversized statue of Athena. The greater width and length of the Parthenon features double decked
columns instead of walls. The back room sheltered Athena s treasure. ... Show more content on

the temples of Greece were designed to be seen from the outside. When one moves toward the east
and then looking at the exterior of the temple visitors would be mesmerized by the beauty of the

Synoptical Essay On The Gospel Of John
John s Gospel, unlike the Synoptic Gospels focuses more on eye witness events of Jesus life. John s
passage about Jesus washing his disciples feet is one of the many passages where Jesus teaches his
disciples through demonstration what it truly means to be a disciple. Jesus knows that he is the son of
God, and despite that knowledge, he still gets down on his knees to wash his disciples feet. This
passage shows his profound love for all of his disciples. John s audience at this time was all of the
Christians living between 100 110 CE.
Although the Gospel of John is formally anonymous, with the help of internal and external evidence, a
better understanding of who wrote this text can be achieved. Modern scholars believe that this gospel
was written in three stages, by the beloved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also included two well known ceremonies, the Water Ceremony and Light Ceremony found in
chapters seven and eight, along with the sacrifices of lambs in the Temple during the Passover. In the
Synoptic Gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke, most of events take place in Galilee, whereas in the
Gospel of John more events take place in Jerusalem and Judea. These customs and locations of events
suggest that the audience this Gospel was written for were people who believe in Judaism.4 Despite
these conclusions, some may argue that the Gospel of John was written more for Gentiles since this
Gospel portrays Jews in a more hostile lightning as seen when they reject Jesus.5 For many years,
people have tried to approximate which year the Gospel of John was finished. Many scholars believed
that it was written sometime between 140 170 CE, and many would also agree that John was the last
written of the four Gospels. It is very hard to set a date for this Gospel because of how the theological
nature has developed. However, most scholars believe now that it was

Mccutcheon V. Federal Election Commission Essay
McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission was a 5 4 decision divided along liberal and
conservative lines. Shane McCutcheon is a businessman from Alabama who donated thousands of
dollars to various Republican committees and candidates. If he donated any more, he would violate
the limit to aggregate contributions established in the Federal Election Campaign Act and the
Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act. The aggregate limit capped the amount of money an individual
could donate to candidates and committees per two year election cycle at 123,000. McCutcheon and
the Republican National Committee sued the Federal Election Commission, which enforced campaign
finance regulations, arguing that the aggregate contribution limit violated the First Amendment ...

He argued that the precedent of the 1976 Buckley v. Valeo court case, which upheld aggregate limits,
did not apply in this situation because the court at the time did not consider McCutcheon s legal
argument and the situation in which aggregate limits functioned back then is 1976. Then, he
established that because an aggregate limit restricted how many candidates and committees an
individual to support, it limited free speech and thus was only justified if it was necessary to prevent
political corruption. He confined political corruption to bribery, arguing that if corruption was
understood as money resulting in more influence to or ingratiation from an officeholder, then the
government would have a say in who could govern, citing the precedent of Arizona Free Enterprise
Club s Freedom Club PAC v. Bennet. He also added that ingratiation and influence create more
responsive candidates and are therefore good for democracy. Roberts argued that aggregate limits
were not necessary to preventing bribery because any scenario where circumvention could happen
would be either illegal under earmarking rules or unlikely because many state parites would have to
participate in the scheme. There were also alternatives to preventing circumvention, including
restrictions on transfers among party committees and candidates, the tightening of earmarking rules,
and the implementation of broad disclosure

with producing and consuming nations on its outside affiliations.
MAIN BODY
This essay will begin by examining the government of Bhutan and its direction of improving the
economic structure of its country for a sustainable future. Bhutan is a country located on the southern
slopes of the eastern Himalayas. It is a country that is grappling with modernity and development.
Around thirty years ago, Bhutan was completely isolated. With that span of years, the country is now
known too much of the outside world. Recently elected Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, of the
country Bhutan has been a prominent figure of the country. Tobgay believes that acting on issues like
youth employment, corruption, and the national debt is more necessary than focusing solely on the
GHN. Tobgay additionally concentrates on stopping corruption in Bhutan s government, and
interacting with the Bhutanese population. Tshering Tobgay declared that the country is additionally
carbon negative rather than simply carbon neutral. The Royal government of Bhutan is comprised of
10 ministries which work in bringing the goal of Gross National Happiness closer to reality. Gross

Ryan Bailey Patterson s Resistance And Resilience
In Ryan bailey Patterson s article, Resistance and Resilience Patterson discusses the impact that
politicalized art can have on a movement. Patterson articulates her argument by first giving historical
context to the violent phenomena and then explaining the impact that politicalized art had on the anti
feminicide movement in Cuidad Juarez as the art functioned as a communicator between the women
of Cuidad Juarez and the outside world. The art not only communicated the problem in the city but
helped give context to the problem and excited enough emotion in the outside party to transform the
grassroots movement into a transnational movement. Through a wide range of evidence, Patterson
supports the idea that politicalized art is an effective way to create social awareness of a social ...

which replaced the Bracero program in 1965. Patterson claims that , Cuidad Juarez became a hunting

of the National boarder Development Program which allowed foreign corporations to outsource their

Definition Essay On Ghetto
Definition of Ghetto The word Ghetto is a term that is used to describe where a person is from, or the
type of person they are. All around the world the word ghetto is used, and all around the world it has
the same negative meaning. Mostly a derogatory word to some, but to others ghetto is a word of pride
and respect in the streets. It s a word loosely used among younger individuals to identify where they
are from, or the type of lifestyle they live. In I was a member of the King Fu Crew , Henry Han Xi
Lau uses the word ghetto to describe the area in which he grew up, personal appearance, and writing
techniques used to describe ghetto in his essay. Lau uses a couple of self definitions of how he defines
the word ghetto and what it means to him. In paragraph ten, Lau begins to describe part of what the

My Childhood Speech
I always ask myself this question. Was I really that annoying when I was small? Every time I see my
sister acting out of control. She runs and screams that give you a great big headache. Since I can
barely remember things I did when I was small I asked my parent s many questions. Now let get
started with this chapter that talks about my childhood. Let us start with mom s story. When I first
started school I was really excited. When I first arrived in the classroom, I didn t cry. I was really
surprised when she said that. She told me that my little sister and I were the only children who didn t
cry. My brothers did cry when they first started school. She really didn t know what I did in school
because she wasn t there but she remembers that every time she went to pick me up I always had a
smile on my face. Now it s dad s story time. His story takes place at home. My dad worked so he didn
t really have time to spend with us but when he did he said that I used to make the biggest disasters
that took lots of cleaning up. One time I had baby powder and I accidentally spilled some powder.
Some of the powder fell on my hand, so I blew it off. When I blew it off it created a big cloud of
powder. It was cool to see a cloud of powder fly in the air so I poured all the powder in my hands and
threw it in the air. It was like snow in the hot summer. When my parents found out what I was doing
they put me in the time out corner for 10 minutes for causing a mess in their room. That is

Benefits Of Cursive Writing
Imagining our future citizens being unable to write their own signature is truly a bewildering thought.
Unfortunately, this reality is a very possible and likely outcome for our country as schools around the
United States are debating whether or not to keep cursive writing in their curriculums. Some states
believe it is a vital and basic necessity of education, while others think print handwriting would do just
fine. Generally, this matter has proven to be a very controversial topic that largely impacts education.
From the Sources, it can be gathered that there are many credible arguments to this debate, however, it
is evident that the benefits of maintaining cursive writing in schools outweigh the negatives, if any.
Those who believe cursive writing is an overrated tradition, argue that the space it takes in the
curriculum can better be used to expose students to new, more helpful material. For instance, Source A
claims that the practice of cursive writing in schools is completely replaceable. The article states,
when society adds new skills and new knowledge to the list of things public schools teach, some items
have to come off the list to avoid a curriculum that is a mile wide and an inch deep. As a result, some
states have had no problem removing cursive, while others like California are still managing to
squeeze it in. Source A also explains that with the technology of today, there may very well be
substitutes for a signature such as fingerprint scans. The general

During the winter break, I did a lot of things and I spent most of the time with my family and friends.
One of the things, I did during the break was to go meet my uncle in Hayward, California. It was a

time. Then my cousins and I went to the mall to do some shopping. Then on our way back from the
mall, we went to theater to watch a movie. We spent our Christmas in Hayward and I got a lot of

Atom Dbq Report
Throughout the centuries, there have been many people, from Democritus to Rutherford, that have
changed the structure and the ideas of atoms. The atom has changed 6 times in the last 200 years(OI).
Can you imagine that? Here are some ways the atom has changed.
What is an atom? An atom is a small particle that makes up most types of matter(OI). The atom was
first discovered by Democritus in about 300 B.C.(Doc 1). He believed that bits of matter were too
small to see and could not be divided. As a result he named it the atom, which means cannot be
divided in Greek. This was the first step to understanding matter. The next person to study atoms,
2,000 years later, was a French chemist by the name of Antoine Lavoisier(OI). From his experiments,

Imagine if an agency was able to actually ensure that its officers were safely responding to calls for
service, communicating with the public in a courteous manner, and enforcing the law without
violating the rights of the citizens they are sworn to protect. The thought of providing this type of
oversight and close supervision seems nearly impossible there are far too many officers and far too
few supervisors who already have a myriad of tasks. However, while this might first appear as an
exercise in wish fulfillment, the solution lies in a tool that most agencies are already utilizing: the
body worn camera (BWC).
As more and more law enforcement agencies purchase BWCs in response to the public s demand for
transparency in police ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ask the question, Where is the agency bleeding? If an agency has experienced negative media
attention or civil litigation as a result of poor officer performance, this model will help leaders
discover which incidents create the greatest opportunity for the negative results they are trying to
mitigate. Vehicular pursuits, arrests involving the use of force, and confrontations with combative
subjects during mental health related calls are the most prominent areas where law enforcement
agencies have experienced loss. The agency s first step toward employing BWCs for risk management
involves identifying the incident types that have been most problematic for the agency. Review the
agency s loss data to determine what types of incidents historically have had the greatest negative
affect on officer safety and civil liability. Once this high risk critical incident list is generated, agency
leaders should require selected supervisory personnel to conduct a mandatory review of all incidents
that fall under these categories.
Step 2. Deconstruction and Key Performance Indicators
The next step in developing a holistic risk management program using BWC video as core content
involves deconstruction. Deconstruction is the process of separating a complex system into the
smallest subsystems possible to better understand the

Essay on Classicism Versus Romanticism in Tom Stoppard s...
Tom Stoppard is one of the finest playwrights of the modern age. Some of his well known plays are
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Coast of Utopia, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour,
Professional Foul, The Real Thingand many more. The finest of all his plays is Arcadia. The literary
meaning of the term Arcadia inspired Tom Stoppard to write his play Arcadia. It was titled Et in
Arcadia ego . Arcadia actually means a vision of pastoralism and harmony within nature. The Greek
province of the same name has helped in the derivation of the term. The term s existence has also been
figured out in Renaissance Mythology. Arcadia refers as something unattainable as commonly as

The play focuses on the romance of the mind and the body. Remarked by early reviewers to be similar
to Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz, Tom Stoppard had excelled in this field and gives a glimpse of his
theatrical genius with Arcadia.
Arcadia covers the two different ages the early nineteenth century and the present modern world,
matched, juxtaposed together bringing in a rare combination of the different facets of Classicism and
Romanticism. The two timelines talk about sex, literature, love, epistemology, landscaping, the
Second Law of Thermodynamics and the romance. Stoppard s intellect looms large over the plot of
the play and is efficiently presented in the form of this play. It is a two act play containing seven
scenes. The characters belonging to the early nineteenth century are Septimus, Thomasina, Mr. and
Mrs. Chater, Lady Croom, Captain Brice, Mr. Richard Noakes. Hannah Jarvis, Valentine, Bernard,
Gus and Chloe are the characters belonging to the present modern world. Thomasina Coverly, the
thirteen year old daughter of Lady Croom, is more interested to know what carnal embrace is than
anything else. With her Stoppard had presented a truly heartbreaking character. She is driven not only
by intellectual knowledge but by sexual desires also. Although Lady Croom tells Thomasina that she
must wed before she is over educated. With her Stoppard puts forth the classicism in an elegant way.

Gender Expectations In Ancient Mythology
In our current world, gender expectations apparent in our society be traced back to ancient mythology.
Women of today find inspiration in beauty and fashion often unknowingly form ancient cultures.
Similarly, popular masculine attributes are relatable to the myths of heroes and important gods. Basing
current social standards upon mythological texts however creates problems. In striving to achieve such
physical greatness people of this era are attempting to reach the impossible: to become a god or
goddess of immortal standards themselves. By relating ancient myths to that of the current media, one
can view the effect that the ancient world has upon the social standards apparent in our society today.

If they, or at the minimum their leader does not fit into the standard and accepted body standards, then
they are overlooked. Hephaestus, the Greek god of smithing fits into this category with his lame leg.
Other than his leg, Hephaestus is often described and pictured as a fit and athletic looking male. As
Homer writes in the Iliad, Hephaestus had a massive neck and hairy chest and his shrunken legs
moved lightly beneath him ( Hephaestus ). This description makes Hephaestus appear as a strong man
whose disability is apparent but does not fully take away his immortality. Similarly, characters in
superhero stories with the unusual attribute of being overweight are frowned upon by society.
Superheroine Big Bertha, otherwise known as the Ample Amazon uses her overweight characteristic
to fight evil; her large size makes her bulletproof and gives her immense strength ( Overweight
Superheroes and Supervillains. ). However, Bertha s large size is only apparent during her heroic
adventures in the comic world. During her regular life, she is a slim figured supermodel who is
famous throughout the globe for her gorgeous figure and looks. Characters similar to Bertha would

Sports s Impact On Our Lives
Sports have played a unique role in our everyday lives and carries a large influence on us, shaping the
way we act in our daily activities. What happens to the participants of competitive sports on the field
or court can, in some ways, prepare them for the situations that they maybe wouldn t be able to
understand or deal with without the influence of sport; and even just being a spectator of these sports
has a dramatic impact on your life. Sports are about having fun and playing the game you love just
simply because you love it is something maybe an average Little League coach would say to his kids
and in many ways that is completely correct, but there is a lot more to sports then what we have been
taught to believe growing up. What they didn t tell us is that sports is very much a business as much as
it is about having fun and doing what you love. It was said that, Sport is too much a game to be a
business and too much a business to be a game (Hums, Barr, Gullion, 1999). Sport industries are
constantly growing and making and spending millions of dollars a year on the players, facilities,
coaching staff, and attractions that will draw in thousands of fans. The Financial World magazine of
individual professional team sports estimates that an average of $174 million dollars values the
National Football League s teams. Major broadcast networks like CBS, NBC, and ABC, are paying
sporting industries to allow them to play the game on their station so they can earn even more

Pros And Cons Of Exhibition Driving
How many things do you get pulled over for, scolded, and fined hundreds of dollars for, maybe just
because a cop needs to give more tickets by the end of the year, or isn t having a good day? Exhibition
driving could be one of them, and it especially targets people who are into cars. Exhibition driving is
just being loud, chirping tires, or excessive acceleration without speeding. There needs to be a finer
line between exhibition driving and reckless driving. Too many people get fined, or if you have a
restricted license like a 15 year old, exhibition driving is six points and will cause you to lose your
license, just for having a loud or fast car.
Think about all the things that can get you stopped, no seatbelt, tires are too big, a chain hanging from
your mirror. Some of it is ridiculous and people have better things to do. Should you really be getting
pulled over and fined because most people can t tell the difference between reckless and exhibition
driving. Here s a few differences; reckless driving puts lives in danger, drifting, speeding, swerving in
and out of traffic, etc etc. Exhibition driving involves accelerating fast, loud exhaust, chirping tires,
and revving an engine. The differences between these is that reckless driving can result in people
getting hurt as the driver of the car doesn t care about anything other than showboating. Exhibition
driving causes no harm, it is just another pointless law that lets cops pull you over because they have
nothing better to do.
People think exhibition driving includes swerving through traffic, burnouts and drifting around
corners, but in my opinion and the state law, that is reckless driving and that should be enforced. Many
high end vehicles, such as the new muscle cars and older pickups, that people buy are street legal, and
can go vast amount of speed, that doesn t mean that they are always speeding. In exhibition driving,
you can get pulled over for accelerating fast, for example, at a stop light and you put the throttle down
quite a ways on a clear road. A cop will hear it and pull you over. Let me show you an example in a
mechanical point of view. All the driver is doing is putting down the accelerator, which opens the
throttle body, which when opened,

money constraints because of the Cold War. This class is much quieter, faster and has more torpedo

2. Ballistic Missile Submarines (SSBN) The fleet of ballistic missile submarines is placed in our seas
in order to retaliate against any attacks to the United States. We are prepared for surprise attacks that
would compromise our land security. Just having this system of submarines in place has avoided many
aggressive attacks towards the U.S.
a. Ohio Class Also known as the boomers, this class of lethal submarines is designed for stealth and an
accurate delivery of nuclear warheads. When sent out for a mission there is a crew of about 15 officers
and 140 enlisted submariners. They will be deployed at sea for approximately 70 days depending on
their mission. The submarines are equipped with the Trident II D5 missile that have an increased range
and accuracy over the old Trident I C4 missile. These missiles were first deployed in 1990 and are
currently only used by the U.S. and British Navy.

Character Analysis Of Adora s Relationship With Joya
Adora s troubled relationship with Joya caused her to develop a serious pathology, called Munchausen
by proxy syndrome, which leads her to an obsessive search for external approval. Because of her
condition, she is unable to experience remorse for her actions or empathy towards her daughters
sufferings provoked by her detached behaviour and destructive tendencies. This disease pushes Adora
to seek attentions through the systematic sickening of her offspring, which allows her to show the
world what a caring and loving mother she is. She uses nurturance, an intrinsically female capacity, to
perform the maternal role which can lead her to obtain recognition. In this way, Adora turns maternal
watchfulness in an obsession, displaying the hurtful force of extreme dedication and nurturance. Adora
s psychological disorder devastates her daughter s and her own life, and serves as evidence of the
destructiveness of disturbed mother daughter relationship. The most noticeable proof of the
seriousness of her condition is Marian s death, which shows Adora s complete and insane dedication
to her own purpose. This exemplifies how mental illness overpowers appropriate maternal behaviour.
While she acts as an all powerful mother in the private sphere of the house, her own reign, Adora
tends to hide her oppressive force in public. The caring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Social Interaction Influence Cognitive Development Essay
Social interaction plays an important role in people s life starting from the early childhood as infants
interact with their caregivers and build the emotional attachment that is the base for future
relationships. By social interaction with others children learn how to communicate, play and behave in
particular situation. Berk (2009) proposed the overview of the literature that concentrates upon the
early attachment and its importance. Knowing the influence of social interaction on child development
in the first few years, the essay is going to elaborate upon the implication of social interaction on the
development of cognition. Cognitive development as Lee Gupta (eds.) claimed is the term that refers

The interesting question is whether the social interaction is shaped in similar way across different
children. Therefore, specific groups of children as normally developed, deprived of parental care, with
Down syndrome, and Autistic are going to be considered to elaborate whether social interaction is a
necessity for cognitive development and how social interaction influences the later stages of children s
life. The essay is going to introduce short overviews of Piaget (1926) and Vygotsky s (1978) theories
to indicate their different approaches when considering cognitive development. Piaget (1926)
developed a constructivist theory which is the basis for the other cognitive development theories that
followed. He proposed the definition of schema which refers to children s construction of shaping
their thought and actions through the set of cognitive processes as assimilation, disequilibriums and
accommodation. When encountering new experiences, children try to interpret them in terms of
known cognitive schemas. In case of failing, they need to adjust their interpretation to the reality
(Schaffter Kipp,8th ed). Based on his assumptions, Piaget (1926) proposed that child as a lone
individual progress through four main stages of cognitive development. On the other hand, Vygotsky
(1978) presented sociocultural theory. Vygotsky (1978) concentrated on the social interaction between
child and adult considering

Abstract Studying ancient Egyptian tombs have long been an important source of information
regarding many aspects of Egyptian religion. Walls of New Kingdom tombs are often decorated with
plenty of painted religious scenes. While they were primarily private structures containing images
selected by the person who expected to be housed there for eternity, the funerary monuments also
reflect religious beliefs. While numerous researches focused on many of the religious scenes depicted
on the walls of ancient Egyptian tombs, no one focused on the knife holders scenes. Hence, the current

The Garbage Of Trash Garbage
Community Trash Pickup Trash, also known as litter is a very big concern everywhere in the world.
Litter is nothing but a piece of waste or rubbish that has been disposed improperly, without consent
and at wrong location. Littering simply means throwing away objects on the ground or leaving them
lying on the ground instead of disposing them at garbage can, recycling bin or trash container. (What
is Litter? ) It is very concerning that there are only a few people who would like to make a change
within their own community. The trash laying alongside the highways is very distracting, it makes you
want to stop and pick it up. Many people who feel such a way decide that they need to come up with a
plan that could get their community involved. The environment that we live in needs to be treated
better, if only humans could take a second look at what it actually does look like. There are so many
ideas and ways trash could be taken care of instead of just being disposed alongside the highways, on
the streets, or anywhere else it does not belong besides in a garbage can. It is very disappointing that
many people do not even care at all that the mother earth is very trashy. However, there are a few good
people out there who take their time to keep their community looking nice and clean. It is surprising
when you do notice the few places that you travel by are clean. Some ways that a community can get
motivated in trash pickup would be to start off with your friends who

He asserts we must question historicism as an idea thus suggesting that to understand anything it has
to be understood as a whole via its historical development (6). Thus, the totalizing theory makes
society blind to how local knowledge, different races, and cultures are essential in the development of

History 1 is defined as the history of capitalism, and History 2, is defined as the development of
human history that does not fit in the metanarrative of History 1 (50). Chakrabarty says Marx
totalizing theories argue, that History 2, will ultimately be subsumed by History 1 overall history of

Chakrabarty asserts without History two there would be no History one as history two is charged with

Individualism In Ayn Rand s The Fountainhead
The Fountainhead written by Ayn Rand primarily revolves around the protagonist Howard Roark and
his struggle to maintain his individuality and morals in the face of opposing forces. Howard

to live a rich, fulfilling, independent life. (Matthew, np) Objectivism also praises individuality and
condemns altruism, stating that to achieve you must only help yourself. Because of his beliefs,
Howard feels that he does not require punishment for the explosion of the Cortlandt homes. He also
feels that because of the details of his ideals he had to destroy the buildings. Bringing in the objectivist
philosophy it was a matter of integrity; of which Howard was very protective. He fights to keep his
integrity and the destruction of the Cortlandt house was the result. Howard chose to represent himself
in the trial; during the trial, Howard chooses the least sympathetic jury and makes his case by using a
moving speech. Howard chooses that specific jury, because he knew that if the jury did not have a
basic understanding of the planks of Objectivism then they would not have been able to comprehend
and agree with his standing on the destruction of the Cortlandt homes. He does not call any witnesses,

Pharmaceutical Practices
Obstruction of Generic Pharmaceuticals in the Marketplace
It has been estimated that most of the major pharmaceutical companies have engaged in some unusual
practices to keep generic equivalents of their products from entering the marketplace. These measures
usually have a negative effect on consumers and health care plan providers, prohibiting them from
buying equally effective products at a discounted rate. The objective of the major pharmaceutical
companies in attempting to prevent generics from entering the market is clearly to provide their
shareholders with exceptional profits. Some would argue that there is a morality argument to be made
against big pharma in these cases of market manipulation. We will explore the moral ... Show more

Trying to delay this patent expiration is the most common method of keeping generics off the street.
Every single hour that a generic is kept off of the shelves, it only means more sale of the original
pharmaceutical. Even if the patent lawsuit has no merit, the delay due to legal filings and court tie ups
can buy valuable time for the original patent holder. Below you will find several examples of brand
name pharmaceuticals that have enjoyed a longer monopolistic life due to some innovative, yet highly
controversial techniques:
 Tamoxifen, which is sold under the brand name Nolvadex, is an example of company collusion.
The generic version only sells for about 5 percent less than that of Nolvadex, which is made by
AstraZeneca. The meager discount is a result of a private agreement between Barr and Zeneca, made
after they left the courtroom. Under that pact, Zeneca paid Barr $21 million and Barr agreed to sell
Zeneca s drug rather than produce its own version. Zeneca became AstraZeneca in a 1999 merger.
 An often repeated example is the way Eli Lilly prevented the Lupin group from entering into the
generic market for a drug. It got a patent for about 70 different chemical processes used to make the
relevant drug.
 The example of Cephalon has truly become the way that businesses have skirted the 1984
legislation acts. Instead of defending its patent in court, they paid the competing generic

American Ultra
This isn t the first time this particular pair of stars have made a movie together. American Ultra was
described within their distinct star characters, almost as if they represent both gendered sides of the
same indie stoner coin even outside of the only two movies they have completed together. In 2009,
Stewart and Eisenberg starred together in Adventureland, another infamous independent, pot head,
coming of age movie that incorporated a mix of comedy and dramatized love story at carnival summer
job in middle America. Furthermore, in interview promoting American Ultra, both Stewart and
Eisenberg confessed they were re assuming their former characters: where Adventureland ended,
where they were finally getting together, it seems like where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Posters supporting the two stars where always accompanied with smoke, as this image shows below,
both characters exhale smoke (implied that it is produced by cannabis) that forms into the movie title.
Both sporting long, unruly hair and thrift like jackets helps to embody and sell the two as the perfect
image of a stoner couple for the public to easily identify and expect out of the movie s premise.
Marketing techniques push this niche even more, creating tag lines that cleverly play on both the
stoned perception and the action packed spy vs spy genre. Examples of these are, too high to handle
and Everyone s getting smoked which reads clearly at the bottom of another promotional poster in
which both characters wear the stigmatized stoner plaid, sunglasses at night, and an exciting explosion
in the background to detail the action to be anticipated in the film. Both in the UK and United States,
yet another poster was circulated with the tagline The hit is on , wittily playing on the word hit as a
meaning of drug use and for an assassination, nodding toward the spy genre aspect of the story line. In
this poster, Eisenberg and Stewart are posed in the Buddhist lotus position backed by a haze of smoke,
further stimulating the stoner dynamic, with multiple arms

The Wolf of Wall Street a Film by Martin Scorsese
The only person the narcissist will ever pity or feel sorry for is him/herself. If the narcissist believes
he/she can get away with doing something (even if it s illegal, immoral, or will hurt someone), he/she
will do it. At different times, many high profile individuals are classified as a narcissist in the media.
The movie The Wolf Of Wall Street demonstrates how a rapid success leads to the narcissistic
behavior. Feel good holiday movies, usually focus on traditional family values of heroism whereas
Martin Scorsese in his film The Wolf of Wall Street, does the opposite. The movie focus on lavish life
of Jordan but it was a true satire for an individual exploring quick fortune and shortcut of getting rich.

At beginning the Belford view to success is by helping the client making money at the same time
making money for himself. Where as Narcissism starts developing in Belfort since he started to work
in the penny stock brokerage firm in long island. With a rapid success, narcissistic behavior keeps
adding up in him that eventually destroys his wealth and empire. In the film, Scorsese presented all
aspect of Belford s narcissism one after another in the systematic succession. Scorsese shows the
beginning of the narcissism at first in penny stock company of Long Island after Belford first sale
when Belfort says, Everybody looks at me as I first discover fire. Narcissism develops within him
when other people started to follow him giving Belford a pseudo perception of importance and sense
that money can buy everything. And finally this leads to the destruction of his great empire. In film,
Scorsese portrays the development of narcissism in Belford by showing his involvement in party and
buying the women and other humans (dwarf) for the pleasure. Belford narcissistic behavior is
fertilized when a college graduate leaves their college and home to work with the Belford. Above all
his desire to have a relation with the Manhattan s model and the failure of SEC to convict him in
security fraud, all contributes to push his narcissism to the peak. All these success provokes Belfort to
engage in criminal activities to make money. Finally, Belfort s downfall starts when he refuses to

Spider Visual Analysis
My visual interpretation, I have decided to create a spider and the web as a center focus that creates
and attaches to the ideas of agency, identity, culture, and structure. The spider represents the dominant
group (white race) creates these labels on how the world should look and be like. It weaves these
invisible norms, just as a spider weaves an invisible web to trap their prey. I place these words in a
circular motion surrounding the spider. The words that are closest to the spider are created by the
dominant groups and influence the rest of the other words. For instance in the inner circle pictures of a

created by the dominant group on the way people should look, speak, or live by. These identities are
meant to put people in different categories and really limit the mobility of people from the lower
groups. In a multicultural environment, ever teacher and student have their own identify. Being aware
of one s these diversities can be an insight to teachers to listen and get to know there students

Weeks 6 7 Zambia Trade Tour Assignment Worksheet The exchange rate of a country measures the
external value of the currency. To a country such as Zambia the market for foreign exchange is very
important. Its own currency, the kwacha is not a hard currency and thus not universally accepted in
payment of debt. Zambia relies on generating foreign currency from selling exports to enable it to
finance imports. The macroeconomic situation such as the balance of payments position, employment
and inflation are all influenced by a country s exchange rate. Hence it becomes a key economic policy

The Mexican Revolution Of Mexico And The United States Essay
During the Mexican Revolution there were many prominent figures that emerged during the long
struggle. Some of the figures had a positive impact on the region, and some others a very negative
impact on the people of Mexico and their quest for an uncorrupted government. One figure that stands
out in the border region between Mexico and The United States during this time is General Francisco
Pancho Villa. To understand Pancho Villa s significant role during this uprising it is important to
understand who Villa was prior to the revolution, and what acts lead to his rise to power.
Francisco Pancho Villa (born Doroteo Arango on June 5th, 1878) was known as a bandit prior to his
life as a Mexican General. Villa was born to sharecropper parents on a hacienda in San Juan Del Rio,
Durango, Mexico. After the death of his father, Villa only in his teens became the head of his family.
Villa soon found himself on the run from the law and the Haciendas owner after he shot the man in the
foot after an altercation over Villa s sister; this is what led to him initially becoming an outlaw. While
on the run as a fugitive Villa adapted other well known bandito ways of making money including
robbing haciendas, and sticking up wealthy mine owners, this is also when he officially dropped
Arango and only used Francisco Pancho Villa (Katz, 1998). Some bits of folklore can be found when
describing Villa s actions during this time period. There are tales of him acting like a Robin

Essay Penn State Scandal
The Jerry Sandusky case had a major impact on Penn State. It affected both academics and athletics in
a major way. In this essay I will discuss the situation that occurred and the impact that the social
media had on this once great school. Jerry Sandusky is a retired American football coach. He was the
assistant coach at Pennsylvania State University under the legendary Joe Paterno for 30 years. He was
the defensive coordinator for the football team. He is also the founder of The Second Mile. The
Second Mile is a non profit organization that serves underprivileged youth. This is where Jerry
Sandusky had met many of his victims. On November 5th, 2011, Jerry Sandusky was arrested and

Graham Spanier at the time was the president of Penn State University. He was forced to resign
following the Penn State child sex abuse scandal. Tim Curley was the athletic director for Penn State
and Gary Schultz was the Vice President. After it was revealed that they failed to report the incident to
authorities, both of these men were fired by the board. The FBI had stated that after conducting an
investigation that these senior officials had known about Sandusky s actions as early as 1998 and had
failed to disclose this information to authorities. On October 9, 2012, Jerry Sandusky was sentenced to
a minimum of 30 years and a maximum of 60 years in prison. Spanier, Curley, and Schultz have been
charged with grand jury perjury, conspiracy, obstruction of justice, and child endangerment in
association with the scandal. Paterno and McQueary never had any charges pressed on them because
they did what they were obligated to do. McQueary had reported the incident to his superior which is
Joe Paterno. Joe Paterno also reported the incident to his superior who is Curley and Schultz. This
whole situation caused a huge reaction nationwide. The media had criticized the University for being
so irresponsible. Many radio stations and newspapers harshly criticized the school for this scandal.
Many people had criticized McQueary for not protecting the child that was being raped by Sandusky.

Isis History Isis started out as an ancient Egyptian goddess, worshiped as the Divine Mother. As a goddess, she not only was a mother goddess, she, with her husband the god Osiris, taught the arts of civilization to humans, and supported the reign of the Pharaohs, or kings, of ancient Egypt. Afterwards, Isis restores Osiris to life, and she becomes pregnant by him and gives birth to their son, Horus. The story ends with Horus avenging the death of his father on Set. The myth of Isis and Osiris bears many similarities to similar myths of the Goddess and the Dying/Rising God of the ancient Middle East and Mediterranean. These myths together influenced the Jesus story in Christianity, especially the parts with Mary Magdalene in them, such as Jesus crucifixion, death, and resurrection. These facts show that Isis is a goddess who held and still holds appeal for her dealing with universal concerns. Conclusion Isis started out as a popular goddess in ancient Egypt, who blessed the reign of kings, healed the sick, protected the dead, raised her husband from the dead, who could change fate and destiny with magic, and who was the ideal mother. These aspects of her ensured she would become popular outside Egypt, and therefore her cult spread from Egypt throughout the Mediterranean, and even northward to Great

It was constructed approximately in 447 BC and completed around 432 BC as a temple dedicated to the Goddess Athena., which the original one was destroyed in Persian Invasion of 480 BC. The Parthenon was used primarily as a treasury. In the sixth century AD, it was converted into a Christian church, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. During the Ottoman conquest it became a Mosque which was around 1460 s. The Parthenon was partially destroyed in 1687. The architects were Iktinos and Kallikrates with a mention of Vitruv and dedicated to the Goddess Athena Pallas or Parthenos (virgin). It s main function was to house the statues of Athena which were made of gold and ivory by Phedias. The inner chamber was unusually large so it could house the oversized statue of Athena. • 8. Synoptical Essay On The Gospel Of John John s Gospel, unlike the Synoptic Gospels focuses more on eye witness events of Jesus life. John s passage about Jesus washing his disciples feet is one of the many passages where Jesus teaches his disciples through demonstration what it truly means to be a disciple. Jesus knows that he is the son of God, and despite that knowledge, he still gets down on his knees to wash his disciples feet. This passage shows his profound love for all of his disciples. John s audience at this time was all of the Christians living between 100 110 CE. These customs and locations of events suggest that the audience this Gospel was written for were people who believe in Judaism.4 Despite these conclusions, some may argue that the Gospel of John was written more for Gentiles since this Gospel portrays Jews in a more hostile lightning as seen when they reject Jesus.5 For many years, people have tried to approximate which year the Gospel of John was finished. Many scholars believed that it was written sometime between 140 170 CE, and many would also agree that John was the last written of the four Gospels. • 9. Mccutcheon V. Federal Election Commission Essay McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission was a 5 4 decision divided along liberal and conservative lines. Shane McCutcheon is a businessman from Alabama who donated thousands of dollars to various Republican committees and candidates. If he donated any more, he would violate the limit to aggregate contributions established in the Federal Election Campaign Act and the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act. The aggregate limit capped the amount of money an individual could donate to candidates and committees per two year election cycle at 123,000. McCutcheon and the Republican National Committee sued the Federal Election Commission, which enforced campaign finance regulations, arguing that the aggregate contribution limit violated the First Amendment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He argued that the precedent of the 1976 Buckley v. Valeo court case, which upheld aggregate limits, did not apply in this situation because the court at the time did not consider McCutcheon s legal argument and the situation in which aggregate limits functioned back then is 1976. Then, he established that because an aggregate limit restricted how many candidates and committees an individual to support, it limited free speech and thus was only justified if it was necessary to prevent political corruption. He confined political corruption to bribery, arguing that if corruption was understood as money resulting in more influence to or ingratiation from an officeholder, then the government would have a say in who could govern, citing the precedent of Arizona Free Enterprise Club s Freedom Club PAC v. Bennet. He also added that ingratiation and influence create more responsive candidates and are therefore good for democracy. Roberts argued that aggregate limits were not necessary to preventing bribery because any scenario where circumvention could happen would be either illegal under earmarking rules or unlikely because many state parites would have to participate in the scheme. There were also alternatives to preventing circumvention, including restrictions on transfers among party committees and candidates, the tightening of earmarking rules, and the implementation of broad disclosure ... Now let get started with this chapter that talks about my childhood. Let us start with mom s story. When I first started school I was really excited. When I first arrived in the classroom, I didn t cry. I was really surprised when she said that. She told me that my little sister and I were the only children who didn t cry. Unfortunately, this reality is a very possible and likely outcome for our country as schools around the United States are debating whether or not to keep cursive writing in their curriculums. Some states believe it is a vital and basic necessity of education, while others think print handwriting would do just fine. Generally, this matter has proven to be a very controversial topic that largely impacts education. From the Sources, it can be gathered that there are many credible arguments to this debate, however, it is evident that the benefits of maintaining cursive writing in schools outweigh the negatives, if any. Those who believe cursive writing is an overrated tradition, argue that the space it takes in the curriculum can better be used to expose students to new, more helpful material. For instance, Source A claims that the practice of cursive writing in schools is completely replaceable. The article states, when society adds new skills and new knowledge to the list of things public schools teach, some items have to come off the list to avoid a curriculum that is a mile wide and an inch deep. As a result, some states have had no problem removing cursive, while others like California are still managing to squeeze it in. Source A also explains that with the technology of today, there may very well be substitutes for a signature such as fingerprint scans. The general ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The atom has changed 6 times in the last 200 years(OI). Can you imagine that? Here are some ways the atom has changed. What is an atom? An atom is a small particle that makes up most types of matter(OI). The atom was first discovered by Democritus in about 300 B.C.(Doc 1). He believed that bits of matter were too small to see and could not be divided. As a result he named it the atom, which means cannot be divided in Greek. Mechanisms For Risk Management And Control Imagine if an agency was able to actually ensure that its officers were safely responding to calls for service, communicating with the public in a courteous manner, and enforcing the law without violating the rights of the citizens they are sworn to protect. The thought of providing this type of oversight and close supervision seems nearly impossible there are far too many officers and far too few supervisors who already have a myriad of tasks. However, while this might first appear as an exercise in wish fulfillment, the solution lies in a tool that most agencies are already utilizing: the body worn camera (BWC). Ask the question, Where is the agency bleeding? If an agency has experienced negative media attention or civil litigation as a result of poor officer performance, this model will help leaders discover which incidents create the greatest opportunity for the negative results they are trying to mitigate. Vehicular pursuits, arrests involving the use of force, and confrontations with combative subjects during mental health related calls are the most prominent areas where law enforcement agencies have experienced loss. The agency s first step toward employing BWCs for risk management involves identifying the incident types that have been most problematic for the agency. Review the agency s loss data to determine what types of incidents historically have had the greatest negative affect on officer safety and civil liability. Once this high risk critical incident list is generated, agency leaders should require selected supervisory personnel to conduct a mandatory review of all incidents that fall under these categories. Pros And Cons Of Exhibition Driving How many things do you get pulled over for, scolded, and fined hundreds of dollars for, maybe just because a cop needs to give more tickets by the end of the year, or isn t having a good day? Exhibition driving could be one of them, and it especially targets people who are into cars. Exhibition driving is just being loud, chirping tires, or excessive acceleration without speeding. There needs to be a finer line between exhibition driving and reckless driving. Too many people get fined, or if you have a restricted license like a 15 year old, exhibition driving is six points and will cause you to lose your license, just for having a loud or fast car. Think about all the things that can get you stopped, no seatbelt, tires are too big, a chain hanging from your mirror. Some of it is ridiculous and people have better things to do. Should you really be getting pulled over and fined because most people can t tell the difference between reckless and exhibition driving. Here s a few differences; reckless driving puts lives in danger, drifting, speeding, swerving in and out of traffic, etc etc. Exhibition driving involves accelerating fast, loud exhaust, chirping tires, and revving an engine. The differences between these is that reckless driving can result in people getting hurt as the driver of the car doesn t care about anything other than showboating. Exhibition driving causes no harm, it is just another pointless law that lets cops pull you over because they have nothing better to do. People think exhibition driving includes swerving through traffic, burnouts and drifting around corners, but in my opinion and the state law, that is reckless driving and that should be enforced. Many high end vehicles, such as the new muscle cars and older pickups, that people buy are street legal, and can go vast amount of speed, that doesn t mean that they are always speeding. In exhibition driving, you can get pulled over for accelerating fast, for example, at a stop light and you put the throttle down quite a ways on a clear road. A cop will hear it and pull you over. Let me show you an example in a mechanical point of view. All the driver is doing is putting down the accelerator, which opens the throttle body, which when opened, ... Character Analysis Of Adora s Relationship With Joya Adora s troubled relationship with Joya caused her to develop a serious pathology, called Munchausen by proxy syndrome, which leads her to an obsessive search for external approval. Because of her condition, she is unable to experience remorse for her actions or empathy towards her daughters sufferings provoked by her detached behaviour and destructive tendencies. This disease pushes Adora to seek attentions through the systematic sickening of her offspring, which allows her to show the world what a caring and loving mother she is. She uses nurturance, an intrinsically female capacity, to perform the maternal role which can lead her to obtain recognition. In this way, Adora turns maternal watchfulness in an obsession, displaying the hurtful force of extreme dedication and nurturance. Adora s psychological disorder devastates her daughter s and her own life, and serves as evidence of the destructiveness of disturbed mother daughter relationship. The most noticeable proof of the seriousness of her condition is Marian s death, which shows Adora s complete and insane dedication to her own purpose. The essay is going to introduce short overviews of Piaget (1926) and Vygotsky s (1978) theories to indicate their different approaches when considering cognitive development. Piaget (1926) developed a constructivist theory which is the basis for the other cognitive development theories that followed. He proposed the definition of schema which refers to children s construction of shaping their thought and actions through the set of cognitive processes as assimilation, disequilibriums and accommodation. When encountering new experiences, children try to interpret them in terms of known cognitive schemas. In case of failing, they need to adjust their interpretation to the reality (Schaffter Kipp,8th ed). Based on his assumptions, Piaget (1926) proposed that child as a lone individual progress through four main stages of cognitive development. The trash laying alongside the highways is very distracting, it makes you want to stop and pick it up. Many people who feel such a way decide that they need to come up with a plan that could get their community involved. The environment that we live in needs to be treated better, if only humans could take a second look at what it actually does look like. There are so many ideas and ways trash could be taken care of instead of just being disposed alongside the highways, on the streets, or anywhere else it does not belong besides in a garbage can. It is very disappointing that many people do not even care at all that the mother earth is very trashy. However, there are a few good people out there who take their time to keep their community looking nice and clean. It is surprising when you do notice the few places that you travel by are clean. Some ways that a community can get motivated in trash pickup would be to start off with your friends who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He asserts we must question historicism as an idea thus suggesting that to understand anything it has to be understood as a whole via its historical development (6). Thus, the totalizing theory makes society blind to how local knowledge, different races, and cultures are essential in the development of history. Developing a distinction Marx made between the two kinds of history, Chakrabarty says History 1 is defined as the history of capitalism, and History 2, is defined as the development of human history that does not fit in the metanarrative of History 1 (50). Chakrabarty says Marx totalizing theories argue, that History 2, will ultimately be subsumed by History 1 overall history of capitalism from feudal stages to the present, However Chakrabarty argues that History 2 is not separate from capital. As History 2 inherent in capital but interrupts and punctuates the logic of capitalism (64). Additionally, Marx, (Marxist) Gramsci thinks that History 1 is the real history, while Chakrabarty asserts without History two there would be no History one as history two is charged with the function of constantly interrupting the totalizing thrusts of History 1 (66). Individualism In Ayn Rand s The Fountainhead The Fountainhead written by Ayn Rand primarily revolves around the protagonist Howard Roark and his struggle to maintain his individuality and morals in the face of opposing forces. Howard demonstrates this struggle in the act of dynamiting the Cortlandt Homes and fighting for his freedom in court. Throughout the novel, Howard s ego stands firm against public opinion, he does not waver despite opposition in instances such as the construction of the Stoddard Temple, the building of the Aquitania Hotel, and the erection of the Enright House. Objectivism is the Philosophy of rational individualism and morality. (Matthew, np) Objectivism also praises individuality and condemns altruism, stating that to achieve you must only help yourself. Because of his beliefs, Howard feels that he does not require punishment for the explosion of the Cortlandt homes. He also feels that because of the details of his ideals he had to destroy the buildings. Bringing in the objectivist philosophy it was a matter of integrity; of which Howard was very protective. He fights to keep his integrity and the destruction of the Cortlandt house was the result. Howard chose to represent himself in the trial; during the trial, Howard chooses the least sympathetic jury and makes his case by using a moving speech. • 43. Pharmaceutical Practices Obstruction of Generic Pharmaceuticals in the Marketplace It has been estimated that most of the major pharmaceutical companies have engaged in some unusual practices to keep generic equivalents of their products from entering the marketplace. These measures usually have a negative effect on consumers and health care plan providers, prohibiting them from buying equally effective products at a discounted rate. The objective of the major pharmaceutical companies in attempting to prevent generics from entering the market is clearly to provide their shareholders with exceptional profits. Some would argue that there is a morality argument to be made against big pharma in these cases of market manipulation. We will explore the moral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Trying to delay this patent expiration is the most common method of keeping generics off the street. Every single hour that a generic is kept off of the shelves, it only means more sale of the original pharmaceutical. Even if the patent lawsuit has no merit, the delay due to legal filings and court tie ups can buy valuable time for the original patent holder. Below you will find several examples of brand name pharmaceuticals that have enjoyed a longer monopolistic life due to some innovative, yet highly controversial techniques:  Tamoxifen, which is sold under the brand name Nolvadex, is an example of company collusion. The generic version only sells for about 5 percent less than that of Nolvadex, which is made by AstraZeneca. The meager discount is a result of a private agreement between Barr and Zeneca, made after they left the courtroom. Under that pact, Zeneca paid Barr $21 million and Barr agreed to sell Zeneca s drug rather than produce its own version. Zeneca became AstraZeneca in a 1999 merger.  An often repeated example is the way Eli Lilly prevented the Lupin group from entering into the generic market for a drug. It got a patent for about 70 different chemical processes used to make the relevant drug.  The example of Cephalon has truly become the way that businesses have skirted the 1984 legislation acts. • 48. The Mexican Revolution Of Mexico And The United States Essay During the Mexican Revolution there were many prominent figures that emerged during the long struggle. Some of the figures had a positive impact on the region, and some others a very negative impact on the people of Mexico and their quest for an uncorrupted government. One figure that stands out in the border region between Mexico and The United States during this time is General Francisco Pancho Villa. To understand Pancho Villa s significant role during this uprising it is important to understand who Villa was prior to the revolution, and what acts lead to his rise to power. Francisco Pancho Villa (born Doroteo Arango on June 5th, 1878) was known as a bandit prior to his life as a Mexican General. Villa was born to sharecropper parents on a hacienda in San Juan Del Rio, Durango, Mexico. After the death of his father, Villa only in his teens became the head of his family. Villa soon found himself on the run from the law and the Haciendas owner after he shot the man in the foot after an altercation over Villa s sister; this is what led to him initially becoming an outlaw. While on the run as a fugitive Villa adapted other well known bandito ways of making money including robbing haciendas, and sticking up wealthy mine owners, this is also when he officially dropped Arango and only used Francisco Pancho Villa (Katz, 1998). Some bits of folklore can be found when describing Villa s actions during this time period. There are tales of him acting like a Robin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
