The reing of this monarch, marked one of the highlights of
French history, both from the political and cultural point
of view. He was the highest representative of monarchical
absolutism, which can be resumed in the phrase " I am the
State". He strove to control all the activities of goverment,
from the court protocols to economic reforms or
theological disputes regulation. His first concern was to
submit his authority to the other powers of the kingdom,
also reformed the administration, what kept the nobility in
constant rebellions. Apart from that he also increased the
power and French influence in Europe, fighting in three
great wars: The war of Holland, the nine years war and
the war of Spanish succession. Ftrom now on he will be
consider as a GREAT KING for all of us
