2. Halifax Town
• My first location is Halifax town.
• In this location the gang will meet up down an alley way to talk
about what they will be doing before walking away to the next
location. They will meet here because it is quite secluded showing
the audience that they are talking about something bad and don’t
want to be overhead by other people.
• I will record this during the day because my song is happy so
should be filmed in the brightness of the day.
• The advantages of using this location is that it is very local so it
isn’t very hard for the actors to get there. Another advantage of
this is that it is a known place for groups of people to hang out
and do nothing all day therefore making it relatable to the
audience.
3. White Room
• This location is a normal room with a white
background. In this location the majority of the
performance will happen. I will record during the
day so the room will have a natural light. The
advantages of this location is that it is simple
meaning it conforms to one of the codes and
conventions of the indie genre. An issue of this
location is that other people may want to use it at
the same time meaning it will be hard to make
sure it is free for when I need it.
4. Street
• This location is just on a street, not on a main road where there are
would be shops. There are only houses because near a shop on a
main road would mean there are lots of people walking about who
would be witnesses whereas with only houses people are only sat
down watching TV for hours and would not necessarily notice
anything dodgy going on their street
• In this location a the gang will start shouting and pushing a younger
person about but a woman in a window of a random house will
notice and call the police on them. I will record during the day
because it will be a younger child that is being pushed around and
they wouldn’t be out at night as well as this the darkness does fit it
with the mood of the song. The advantages of this location is that it
is local to another one of my locations meaning that it makes it
easier when trying to film in other parts of my music video. An issue
that may arise is the fact the because it is public, people in their
houses might see and think it is real and call the police.
5. House (Inside and Out)
• The next location is a house. The events that will occur here
is the group trying to break into the house then they start
routing through it look for valuables, which will be why
they are arrested.
• I will record during the day because it allows the audience
to see what the actors are doing where as at night it will be
harder to see the actions of the actors at night. As well as
this, Burglars usually strike at night meaning people are
more prepared for it than during the day.
• The advantages of this location is that it is my own house
meaning I will have access to this at anytime I want. The
issues that may arise is that people on the street may
actually think it is a real break in.
6. Police Cell
• This location is a police cell. In this location the main
character will be trapped in here after being in court.
They will be singing the song whilst looking sad that he
messed up his life after following the crowd, trying to
fit in. I will probably film in the day however I doubt it
makes a difference because there may not be windows
in the police cell for the audience to be able to tell
what time of day it is. The advantage of using this
location is that it looks realistic making the music video
look better. An issue that may arise is the fact the
police department might not left me film in their police
cell.
7. Hall
This location is a hall in my school that I will convert to
try make it look like a court room because it is normally
a clear open space. In this location the main character
will be on trail in front of the judge pleading to be let
out but is sent back to the police cell. I will record in
this location during the day because firstly I will be
unable to film here at night, as well as this when
people are in court it usually takes place during the day.
