2. Performing shots.
We used Jessie J’s ‘Whos
Laughing Now’ as a template
of shots to use for our music
video. I first took a few shots
of my model at similar angles
to Jessie J’s video to give our
group some idea of what we
would need to create when
filming the actual video.
I used another shot in the
performing scene but took
it from a different angle to
show variation throughout
the video to show examples
of each angle we could film.

3. More performance shots.
Another example of a close
up is used within Jessie J’s
music video so I thought I
would show this throughout
my shots of the model to
show how we could include
this in our filming.
Another shot angle helps
give the performance more
variety. Also makes sure
that the audience won’t
become bored with the
music video throughout.

4. Narrative shots.
We are using this shot
within our music video as
it fits in with the genre
and is quite similar to the
shot in Jessie J’s music
video. This could be a
tracking shot in front of
the singer as she moves
forward.
As our music video is
typically filmed
within the school
environment we felt
that a corridor scene
similar to the one in
Jessie J’s video was
vital and also to add
different characters
to show variety and
characteristics within
the video.

5. More narrative shots.
We used another
location within the
music video as it shows
variety and is typical of
the music genre I am
following.
We liked the idea of
keeping with the
same locations
throughout the
music video and the
classroom would be
the main focal point
of the music video as
this is where the
story is based.

6. More narrative shots.
The back of the
head shot we
found would be
useful in the music
video as it could
track the main girl
as she walks
through the
corridors.
Using a straight on
shot of the ‘bullies’
in our story we
thought this would
give them direct
contact with the
audience so would
use a similar shot
against the lockers
looking straight at
the camera.

7. More narrative shots.
As we planned to
base our music
video mainly upon
classroom activity
the location tends
to come back to
the classroom full
of children.
Also this shot within
Jessie J’s video we wanted
to recreate as it seems to
show the character being
care free and not
bothered about anything
which is what the
storyline is based upon.
