Teacher : ‘The Initial pitch follows the codes and
conventions of the chosen genre in a focused manner.
The ideas are suitable for the chosen genre and are
achievable within the time limit on offer. You have
given due consideration to mise en scene and
cinematography, for example it would seem that you
have made sure that you have a variety of shots and
have listened to the song carefully to make sure that all
three of you have defined roles.’
Originally the ideas that we came up with as a group stuck very closely
to the lyrics of the song (reality in motion). After analysing and
interpreting the lyrics of our chosen song we had some ideas of what
we wanted our music video to show. Our original storyline was about a
male who couldn’t face reality and the fact that he couldn’t bring
himself to tell a particular female that he has feelings for her and what
we wanted to portray was a contrast where some shots would show him
in the present and other shots would show his imagination. So our
main characters in our music video would have been the male and
female. However certain things changed and we faced a few problems
whilst filming this original idea for our music video so we then had to
make a decision on whether or not we should change our idea. In the
end we did decide to change our idea and realised that is was difficult to
film a music video that stuck very close to the lyrics of the song.
