What’s In An Update? Status updates  in LinkedIn are similar to the same feature in Facebook. They allow you to share relevant content with the LinkedIn community. In LinkedIn, this community is focused on professional info – but that doesn’t mean eliminating your personality in your posts! These updates are opportunities that you should take advantage of daily to share things about your career life with your connections. Industry news, your views on your field, helpful tips, memorable quotes from others – share with your network every day!
LinkedIn Groups Sharing articles, asking questions, and answering questions are all great ways to MEET people while adding to the conversation. Following members helps you see member updates. Posting content in your  groups  is a great way to raise awareness of your presence and value.

LinkedIn Companies Follow a company to be notified when the company profile is updated, new jobs open, or employees join, or  leave , an organization.
LinkedIn Signal Social media makes up an important portion of your career toolbox.  Used together, these tools make your job search much faster and easier. A great example of this dynamic is LinkedIn Signal. Signal taps into the tweets posted by the people in your LinkedIn network. It then gives you the ability to search those tweets for the most relevant content. What is the value of this type of application?
Skills & Expertise Features the ability to search and select skills to show on your profile, links to the profiles of professionals with those skills, and a listing of jobs that focus on those skills.
