Server Virtualization And Software Virtualization
Server Virtualization Abstract: During past thirty years, the term concept of server virtualization has
invoked in order to allow the large expensive main frame servers to be used and shared among the
different application layered environments from various geographical locations. Server Virtualization
is a process of portioning the single main server into several server partitions . In clear terms to state,
main server is being used as many number of cloned severs where maximum programmers/users can
access that cloned server in their work area location locally satisfying the user requirements reducing
the cost effectiveness. Availability of hardware in market made virtualization concept to fade away. In
modern era, virtualization at the different levels alike network, storage and system has gained much
more importance in terms of improving the system security, reliability and availability. Server
Virtualization is a gate way for the organization in order to reduce their cost efficiency compared to
any other modern technologies. Concept of Server virtualization is the most effective and desired
method of executing and to make run on the different virtual operating systems which are collectively
used on single physical layer which would be maximizing the cost investment on hardware. Gordon

A just law is a man made code that squares with the moral law, or the law of God. An unjust law is a
code that is out of harmony with the moral law. (3) In 1963 in this particular statement made by
Martin Luther King Jr. in his Letter from Birmingham Jail, he explained how man made (white men)
laws were created to persecute the black race, and how it is his duty to fight against such laws. He was
the one who articulated the progressive hope of many African Americans along with other colored
Americans to have civil rights. At that time, African Americans were battling against racial
segregation and discrimination and they fought it continually and solely until they achieve the
freedom they want. His main goal was to achieve justice and peace amongst colored people, including
white Americans. The civil rights movement in 1964 has led to remarkable forward advances for
individuals rights for African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics, and Asian Americans. Today
in this country, individual rights are highly valued and this was because of the four racial groups who
had fought and faced the different struggles for this movement. However, African Americans suffered
more than the other groups in terms of political, social, and economic roles while making progress for
the advancement of the civil rights movement. During the slave trade era (1619 1863), millions of
Africans were brought to the U.S. to be sold as slaves. The need for slavery existed in the plantation of

Antony And Cleopatra Research Paper
In the year 51 B.C. Cleopatra became queen when she was 18 years old. She ruled with her brother
Ptolemy XIII, who was only 10 years old and not old enough to rule by himself. She also became his
wife, which was a formality because of his age. Cleopatra was strong willed and ambitious. She
wanted to bring her county to the glory of its former days. However Ptolemy s advisers drove
Cleopatra out of Egypt by the time she was 20 years old.
Cleopatra was determined to fight for the throne, so she made an army in Syria and prepared to go to
war against her brother. However, before the battle could begin it was interrupted by the arrival of
Julius Caesar the most powerful man in all of Rome. He was pursuing his defeated rival in a Roman
Civil war. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some time later one of Octavian s men came to the door to speak with the queen, trying to persuade
her to come out. While she was distracted by this conversation, Octavian s men brought a ladder
around to the very window through which Antony had been carried. Once inside, they rushed down
the stairs and took her captive.
Octavian allowed Cleopatra to give Antony a lavish funeral, as befitted a king. Then he ordered her to
make ready for a voyage to Rome. She knew what would happen to her there. Cleopatra would be the
highlight of Octavian s triumphal parade. She would be led in chains through the streets of Rome
where the crowd would mock and curse her.
She returned to her room and washed up after she enjoyed a sumptuous meal. It was her last. A
peasant arrived with a basket of figs for the queen. The guard commented agreeably on how large and
fine the figs were the man laughed and offered him some, but they declined, so he took them to

I Am Hard-Personal Narrative
I VE LEARNED Due to my comparatively insignificant age, I haven t learned many Oprah worthy
lessons in my life. Although I am young, I feel that a certain lesson in particular has been key to my
small but important successes. I ve learned that working hard will demand your respect no matter who
you are. I continue to apply this life long lesson on the wrestling mats with my coaches at every meet,
practice, and free time.
It was the Bend City Championships (wrestling). My palms were sweaty, my face tomato red, and my
heart was pounding, due to the 7 testosterone filled, middle school boys, in my bracket. Luckily, I had

Charli and Lazarus! our future ref shouted impatiently.
Do we have a Charli and Lasarus here? he said with a roll of his eyes.
I m here I said with as much confidence as I could mustar.
Here spit Lazarus looking back at his snake like buddy s.
You know the drill, shake hands I shook hands as respectful as I could knowing that anyone with
enough guts to set foot on any wrestling mat at least deserves a genuine handshake. I readied myself.
Twweeeeetttt! the whistle blow furiously and we were off. There was a quick glance into eachothers
eyes and just 27 seconds later somebody was slugging off the mat in tears and let me just say it wasn t
me. Although it was a tough match for him, I believe that he, along with his friends, had gained a new

What Is The Five Mutual Funds
In this report, we intend to observe, select, and critically analyze five mutual funds and produce an
optimally risky portfolio. After thorough evaluation, we agreed upon the following mutual funds;
Vanguard PRIMECAP Fund (VPMCX), Harbor Small Cap Value Fund (HASCX), Vanguard Tax
Managed Capital Appreciation Fund (VTCIX), Victory RS Small Cap Growth Fund (RSYEX), and
Allianz GI NFJ Mid Cap Value Fund (PQNCX). We selected these particular funds due to historical
performance and future growth potential. We used the Standard and Poor s 500 Index (S P 500) and
the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) as our benchmarks to evaluate and determine performance
and returns. We selected these mutual fund styles based on the Morningstar s Style Box, ... Show more

The optimal investment weights for our portfolio are 21.20% in VPMCX, 11.00% in HASCX, 11.40%
in VTCIX, 1.80% in RSYEX, and 53.60% in PQNCX.
Part 1: Descriptive Data and Summary Statistics of the Five Mutual Fund
Table 1:
We selected 5 mutual funds that have 80% of more invested in stock equity securities in the mutual
fund. The 5 mutual funds all have different investment styles according to Morningstar. The
investment objective defines what each mutual fund s long term goals are. It includes things such as
required return, the risk tolerance, and investment time horizon. The investment style is the different
strategy used to set asset allocation of the mutual fund. It sets expectations for long term portfolio
performance. For example, VTICX focuses on large blend, where HASCX focuses on small blend;
meaning that they will target different portfolio asset allocations. Each fund will allocate its funds
differently and in different proportions. The investment strategy is a set of rules, behaviors or
procedures designed to guide an investor s selection of an investment portfolio. For example, VTICX
looks into stocks that pay lower dividends and are included in the Russell 1000 Index so they can
provide a tax efficient investment return consisting of long term capital appreciation. Behind every
capital investment there is a strategy. Arithmetic mean returns are the total average of the returns for

Essay on In Defense of Historical Fiction
The genre of historical fiction novels can be subdivided into many categories and often crosses genres,
such as historical mysteries and romances. The traditional definition of the historical fiction genre is
fiction set in the past where the author is writing from research rather than personal experience. This
definition leaves a lot of room for interpretation, controversy, and contradiction. Critics in the media,
even when they praise individual historical novels in their reviews, somehow manage to turn this
praise into criticism of the genre as a whole. In 1950, author Howard Fast, a historical novelist
himself, wrote: This is an era of many historical novels, few of them good and very few indeed which

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain is a classic example of a successful historical
fiction novel depicting the life and adventures of youthful boys in the Mississippi River town of St.
Petersburg, Missouri and various locations along the river through Arkansas. Readers of this novel are
confronted with difficult themes such as slavery and revolution in the south before the Civil War. In
chapter 6 of the novel we see Huck s father, Pap, confronted with a finely dressed and educated free
African American. As the man passes Pap states, There, now that s a specimen. They call that a
govment that can t sell a free nigger till he s been in the State six months. Here s a govment that calls
itself a govment, and lets on to be a govment, and thinks it is a govment, and yet s got to set stock still
for six whole months before it can take a hold of a prowling, thieving, infernal, white shirted free
nigger. (Twain 151). This little speech by Pap shows that he s a blatant racist who treats African
Americans as though they are not at all human beings. This novel is full of authentic points of view
from the various characters Huck encounters on his adventures. Twain uses dialog such as this to
educate readers about past conflicts such as the Civil War and slavery. Although highly controversial,
this novel has been used as an educational tool in English literature classrooms for years. The point is
there are numerous historical fiction

The discovery and use of tumor cells in pertinent to the development, diagnosis and treatment of
cancer. This paper will show specific research not only about tumor cells but also about circulating
tumor cells (CTC). It is important to understand how these cells are discovered and the recent
development in finding them in peripheral blood in a minimal amount of time. The Chemistry,
Pathology and Laboratory departments conduct a study on 90 specimens from 24 patients, all who

Tumor markers and cancers cells are both produced by cancer that is the tale tell sign for the

Doctors will biopsy, measure and test tumors to discover whether or not it is malignant or benign (

also a useful tool. It is defined by the CellSearch assay, that CTC is a cell that is EpCAM positive,
cytokeratin positive, CD45 negative, and nuclear stain positive (Zhao et al., 2013).
The Department of Chemistry, Laboratory and Pathology at the University of Washington in Seattle,

blood using their own recently developed ensemble decision aliquot ranking or eDAR. While these
cells were reported about 150 years ago, they have continued to be a useful tool in diagnosis cancer
and its treatment (Zhao et al., 2013). These particular cells has been discovered in patients with
different kinds of cancer (Zhao et al., 2013). Unfortunately, however, observation of these cells comes
at a timely cost. Up until recently it took

Persuasive Essay On Early Voting
When you think of America, what do you think of? Most people probably imagine an American Flag,
maybe some are thinking of their home, but one thing that will not be far from everyone s mind when
they think of America, is democracy. Democracy is one of the foundations of our country, and is one
of the thousands of things that make America a free nation. Although America prides itself on
freedom, specifically freedom of expression, only about half of our citizens are taking part in their
civic duty. There are many reasons for this, some that are unsolvable, but as a nation, we must do
better to make voting more readily available for all citizens. One way to do this, is to allow early
voting. Currently, 37 states allow some form of early voting, but Pennsylvania is not one of them
(STATE LAWS GOVERNING EARLY VOTING.) I m proposing for the Pennsylvania State
Government to take action, and allow early voting for the sake of their people.
The 2016 election was one that most would consider the most in your face election The United States
has ever seen, and still only 55.7% of eligible citizens voted (Bureau, US Census.) According to the
Pew Research Center, the US ranks 31 out of 35 when compared to other developed nations around

nations. In Pennsylvania specifically, we rank just 23rd out of 50 states for voter turnout. Looking at

How To Read Genesis 1 Essay
Genesis 1:1 reads, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). If I never had
access to any books and could only learn or know about the universe through what I observe with my
own eyes, there would be a few things that I would be able to learn from reading Genesis 1:1. The first
thing that I would be able to learn from reading Genesis 1:1 is about God. If I never heard or knew of
God prior to reading Genesis 1:1, others along with myself would probably wonder whom God is.
From the reading, I would know that God is the creator of the heavens and the earth. Others reading
this might also wonder what creating the heavens and the earth really means, and if he created
everything else on earth. Another big question

HURRICANE SANDY Hurricane Sandy was a tropical cyclone that devastated portions of the
Caribbean, Mid Atlantic and Northeastern United States in late October 2012. The eighteenth named
storm and tenth hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, Sandy was the largest Atlantic
hurricane on record, as measured by diameter, with winds spanning 1,100 miles. Sandy is estimated in
early calculations to have caused damage of at least $20 billion. Preliminary estimates of losses that

Michigan and Wisconsin, with particularly severe damage in New Jersey and New York. Its storm
surge hit New York City on October 29, flooding streets, tunnels and subway lines and cutting power
in and around the city. It is having various political effects in the United States especially in terms of
the general election scheduled for November 6, 2012. Hurricane Sandy developed at 1500 UTC on
October 22, when the National Hurricane Center initiated advisories on Tropical Depression Eighteen
to the south of Kingston, Jamaica. The system developed from an area of low pressure and had
organized convection. It moved slowly at first due to a ridge to the north. Low wind shear and warm
waters allowed for strengthening, and the system became Tropical Storm Sandy late on October 22.
Early on October 24, an eye began developing, and it was moving steadily northward due to an
approaching trough. Later that day, the NHC upgraded Sandy to hurricane status about 65 mi south of
Kingston, Jamaica. At about 1900 UTC that day, Sandy made landfall near Kingston with winds of
about 80 mph. Just offshore Cuba, Sandy rapidly intensified to winds of 110 mph, and at that intensity
it made landfall just west of Santiago de Cuba at 0525 UTC on October 25. After Sandy exited Cuba,
the structure became disorganized, and it turned to the north northwest over the Bahamas. By October

Homer Bad Man Analysis
Modern society relies heavily on media, a form of mass communication, to inherit its values and
beliefs on political and social issues occurring around the world. Two of the most common forms of
communication in this field are current affairs programs and news broadcasts. Due to the mass
production and high demand for news around the world, the images and stories presented to the public
are often skewed, therefore sometimes misrepresenting the truth behind the stories being reported on.
As media has become more commonplace in modern society, modern texts have explored this idea
more frequently. Both the television series, Frontline by Rob Sitch et al and The Simpsons episode

The episode has the media depict Homer Simpson, the protagonist, as sexually harassing a younger
woman when the audience can see that Homer was really trying to retrieve his precious gummy bear
from the back of the woman s pants. When the woman retaliates to what she assumes is an act of
harassment, the media begin to get involved and a fictitious news station called Rock Bottom asks to
interview Homer to get his account of the story. The report begins with the woman portrayed as a
university honours student who devoted her life to kids, (Daniels Lynch, 1994, 10:46) and Homer as a
grossly overweight pervert. (Daniels Lynch, 1994, 10:49) When she is spoken about, the music is
angelic and sweet which suddenly contrasts to the sinister non diagetic sound played when Homer is
depicted. Later in the interview, Daniels and Lynch humorously show the blatant and obvious cuts in
the interview by the clock in the background constantly switching back and forward in time, and
Homer s words cutting from sweet and candy repeatedly. This mise en scene and use of cinematic
techniques within the show, is used to portray how easy it is for the media to misrepresent the truth

An Intelligence Officer For The Australian Army
As an Intelligence Officer for the Australian Army, the main role is to provide the intelligence support
required by commanders and staff at all levels. The role requires the highest calibre of noetic
suppleness and flexibility and the facility to operate at the tactical, operational and strategic levels and
to integrate with joint, inter agency, inter governmental and multi national agencies. This environment
will additionally demand culturally astute and situationally vigilant officers, comfortable in dealing
with capricious circumstances in an asymmetric battlespace (Defence, 2016). As an Intelligence

This is due to the fact that an Intelligence Officer must compose and distribute reports and briefings to
military units and other military leaders, effectively lead the soldiers they may have under their
command and finally, they have to be able to interrogate people captured by military combat units.
When presenting briefings and reports, the officer, as the sender, must be able to articulate,
ascertaining the receiver understands the message even if there are other environmental conditions
mitigating his ability to hear. Doing this will ensure that whenever those who attended the briefing are
deployed or go to make plans they will be able to have the best information ensuring that the objective
can be accomplished. Another reason that interpersonal communication is so important for an
Intelligence Officer is that without being effective at interpersonal communication they will not be
able to effectively lead soldiers in their platoon (Hawkins, 1985). Communication in the army goes far
beyond that of simply exchanging information. Commanders use communication to strengthen bonds
within a command. Communication builds trust, cooperation, cohesion, and shared understanding
(Ford, 2015). As an intelligence officer, the soldiers that you lead are more than likely intelligence
analysts themselves. This means that communicating with them about work related issues is most
likely to be easy as they will be to

In the story The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, the villagers gather annually to select a person to sacrifice
to ensure a good harvest. Although, the word lottery is usually associated with winning a grand prize, I
believe that Ms. Jackson used that word to create a sense of familiarity in the gathering of villagers for
her audience. It certainly made me feel secure that in the unfurling of the story I would find out which
lucky villager won something nice. I smiled as I read about the young children playing with the rocks
and the husbands and wives gathering and gossiping. I imagined the scene of a sleepy little farming
town where the cheerful civil servant would officiate public events and all the townsfolk had a
wholesome sense of community.

Iran cut all ties with the United States and lost its dominance in the area; it s army was disorganized

confrontation with the U.S. ensured it would be cut off from its primary weapons supplier. During the

Women During The Nineteenth Century
Women both in Europe and America during the nineteenth century were living in a society that was
characterised by gender inequality (Wwnorton.com, 2015). In the early periods of the century, women
were expected to remain passive and subservient to the male counterparts. They were denied many of
the legal, social, or even political rights, which in the modern world we consider as a right
(Wwnorton.com, 2015). Thus, generally speaking women who belonged to the middle and upper
classes remained home; they were expected to care for their children and run the household. In
contrast, lower class women worked more frequently and so had other roles to play in society, which
was outside the home. However they were likely to be poorly paid servants ... Show more content on

The roles of women were undergoing significant change, and so therefore many of the writers reflect
this change in their writing, and so we see different explorations of the roles of women in society.
Many of the writers in the nineteenth century explored the role that women played in society. The
historical changes that occurred in this period prompted much discussion and argument about the
nature and role women played in society. The reform bills of 1932 and 1867 stimulated the discussion
of women s political rights (Wwnorton.com, p. 418). These changes inevitably were reflected in the
works of many of the nineteenth century writers, as the industrial revolution presented a challenge to
the traditional perceptions of the female stereotype. Emily Bronte s Jane Eyre being a very prominent
work of literature at the time, as she challenged stereotypes by creating a female heroine that did not
meet the social conventions of a woman living in the nineteenth century. The female protagonist Jane
articulates passionately the view that women are not different from men, but need a field of action as
much as their brothers (Wwnorton.com, p. 420). Bronte presents to her readers a character that
challenges the notion that women depend on men, and so we see Jane striving for independence.
Bronte challenges the Victorian ideals as her character Jane finds love on an equal basis, and not for
financial security, which was an important feature in Victorian society. This

Why Do Jewish Holidays
When people think of holidays they would think Christmas or thanksgiving. But with the Jewish
religion they celebrate holidays a little bit different than most people. With the Jewish cultural they
celebrate Shabbat, Passover, You Kippur, Sukkot, and Hanukkah.
The Shabbat is considered the most important of all Jewish holidays. It is the day of rest and weekly
observance of God s completion of creation. Shabbat starts on a Friday night an hour before sunset, it
lasts for 25 hour until sunset on Saturday night. This holiday is one of the way the Jewish people
connect with Yahweh because these people will make some of the tuitional meal that comes with this
holiday. Also, they will make the setting special because they are celebration their god ... Show more

It is the most solemn day of the Jewish year, Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement offers an
entire day devoted to self examination. Many spend the day in synagogue devoted to prayer and study
while abstaining from food and drink. The goal is to begin the New Year with a clean slate, which can
be good for many of the Jews who do bad things and need a new start at life.
And after that would come Sukkot. This seven day festival celebrates the fall harvest and also
commemorates the time when the Hebrews dwelt in the Sinai wilderness on their way to the Promised
land of Israel, which is important for the Jewish people because they don t want to end up in what they
called pit of fire. Also, the holiday is celebrated by building (and then dwelling in) ceremonial huts
called Sukkot.
Finally comes Hanukkah. This beloved eight day winter festival celebrates the miracle of a small cruse
of oil when it burned for eight days, instead of only one. It also celebrates the military victory of the
Jewish Maccabees over the powerful Syrian Greek army in 167 BCE. The victory was followed by a
rededication(Hanukkah) of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. It is from this act that the holiday gets its
name, which I find very interesting because of something so small created a holiday. But with
Christian religion it would be Christmas and its only celebrated one day. The day where Mary had

Reflection Paper On The Movie Precious
After speaking with my classmate, the film I choose to watch was Precious because she gave it a
glowing review and highly recommend it. Furthermore, the movie was a perfect fit for me as I have
personally not had many interactions with poor inner city people of color, and the limited interactions
I have had were not in the environment where they live their daily lives. Additionally, I asked my
girlfriend if she had a movie recommendation out of the list of films that were available after
removing the movies I had already seen. Ultimately, Precious stood out to her as an excellent movie
that painted an insightful illustration of life in the poor inner city community. Although she saw the
movie several years ago, she recalled that the film evoked many strong emotional responses which
made a lasting impact and enduring perspective. Once she gave that feedback, the decision of which
movie to watch was not difficult. As I watched the film, I, like my girlfriend, experienced a wide range
of emotions which included; anger, fear, empathy, frustration, and pride. For example, I was frustrated
when Preciouses mother berated her after Preciouses teacher visited the pairs home and informed both
of the opportunity that Precious had to attend an alternative school by calling her stupid, asking if she
thought she was better than her, and physically abusing her. Also, I was frustrated when the mother
forced Precious to overeat when Precious did not prepare the mother s dinner

The Gospel Of Mark And The Synoptic Gospel
The Gospels of Mark, Luke and Matthew are called the Synoptic Gospels because they all share many
of the same stories including some verses that are word for word identical. Most scholar believe that
the Gospel of Mark was written first with the Gospel of Luke and Matthew having been written later
using Mark and other sources. Since the authors of Luke and Matthew had Mark as a guide while
writing, the differences between the three gospels are purposeful and have theological importance.
The selected verses in the three gospels contain the same general structure with Jesus asking who the
public and his disciples think he is and then correcting them. However, the additions, removals and
revisions Luke and Matthew contain change the focus of the argument and have theological
implications.
In the Gospel of Mark, the disciples are predominantly mentioned to highlight their and by extension,
the public s, lack of understanding of Jesus and his ministry. In Mark 8:29 however, Peter
distinguishes himself from the public and correctly answers that Jesus is the Messiah. The title of
Messiah is not explicitly defined in the Gospel of Mark but instead I used to differentiate Jesus from
the prophets who came before him. As Black writes on page 195 Messiah does not define Jesus; to the
contrary, Jesus redefines the term Messiah. The Gospel of Mark uses the term Messiah to cast Jesus as
a religious figure whose role is more important than a prophet who interprets the Law or a

Analysis Of Van Gogh Room
The painting, The Bedroom, is one that has a lot of elements put into it. Some may think it is not the
best piece of artwork, but to others, like me, it is a piece of artwork that has style, and elegance. When
someone first takes a look at the piece of artwork, they are able to take in all of the detail that is put
into it. But, some others may ask what made Vincent van Gogh want to produce this piece of artwork?
There is some detail that is behind this piece of artwork, and facts about Vincent van Gogh that not
everyone knows. Even though Vincent van Gogh is a famous artist, there are some things that people
do not know about him, or about the piece The Bedroom.
To start, there is a lot of historical background in this piece of artwork that some people would not
now. According to the article Van Gogh s Bedrooms | About the Paintings, it talks about how this piece
of artwork was made in 1888 in Arles, France. It also talks about how this piece was made in a
building called the Yellow House ( Van Gogh s Bedrooms ). There is also information about how Van
Gogh first lived in an area that was above a restaurant, and then moved because the room was not nice
enough for him ( Van Gogh s Yellow ). The first sketch of this piece that was made by Van Gogh was
for his brother Theo ( Bedroom ). It also states in the article that Van Gogh was sent to the room that
he created The Bedroom after, and Van Gogh said that it was the best looking room to him ( Bedroom

to Indians and Fillipinos. Prior to the passage of this legislation, immigration had been denied to all
Asians since the National Quota Act of 1924. And prior to this there were probably never more than
10000 Indian Americans in the United States to effectively press for a special exception on their

Decaying Gratification
Aristotle once formed a compelling viewpoint, stating in his discussion on self mastery that many
individuals choose to have a weakness of will. In other words, they know what is best for them, but
still choose to do something else. In an experiment done by Walter Michel, many of the individuals in
the experiment have proven to make a rational decision to not do something that their basic instincts
were pushing them to do. Aristotle s engrossing point of view has shown that willpower can be
achieved, and make the impossible things possible. Based on my own experience, I had not thought
about delaying gratification or self control. Typically, I try to make decisions to act in ways that will
benefit me, although sometimes I slip into a moment of weakness. When the Oreo was placed on my
desk, my basic instinct was that I was hungry. Even though I knew that I could receive another Oreo,
if I waited until the end of class to eat it, I had slipped into a instant of frailty and eventually, just
succumbed to it. I have found that this sense of self control has been an issue with me throughout

Saudi Arabia: The Middle East The Middle East is by no means a westernized area of the world;
however there are staple factors that make it seem democratized. Its legitimacy weary, the Middle East
is fantastic at growing its governments based on the Medina Constitution. However, there is one
particular area of the world that is both deeply religiously rooted and contemporary at the same time.
Saudi Arabia has created the impossible through economic, political, and social legitimacy that not

economic and religious legitimacy. It can be described as a single tribe full of all chiefs and no Indians

whether the state controls religion, or religion controls the state. While religion seems to be more
influential in the domestic policy territory, the state, along with secular security goals, appears to
shape most foreign policy decisions. Religion legitimized the Al Saud s territorial expansions,
justifying military conquests by the religious belief that it was the duty of all true Wahhabis to carry
the message of Islam to all peoples who were non Muslim infidels (Helms, 1981:

So when Griffith compares the story to the nature of human beings, there is no doubt an impression on
Victor s curiosity and sanity:
Since Victor s story is a story of creation, murder, investigation, and pursuit, Frankenstein is ultimately
a book about our pursuit of self discovery, about the knowledge of the monster within us (Griffith 2).
Griffith further supports the idea of Victor being the problem and his ignorance becoming increasingly
detrimental to his family s health. Victor s actions inevitabely brings death and pain to his family
although the monster is responsible. Victor is the real monster for creating the monster and negleting
his very own creation. Also, after creating the being, he neglects its needs and wants and runs away
from his responsibility as the creator. This quote from Mary Shelley s novel, Frankenstein, shows that
Victor, being too binded in his ambitions, did not think through the process of creating a human and
rushed it creating a bitter and crushed soul:
Yet you, my creator, detest and spurn me, thy creature (Shelley 83).
William A. Walling goes on to say, ...still later, as the monster recalls the anguish he has endured
because the life given him has fallen so short of his innate desires, he cries bitterly to Frankenstein
(Walling1)

The Inaccurate Western Civilization In The 16th Century
In the 16th to mid 20th century, Western powers and knowledge have dominated other countries, due
to the Western superiority to the other cultures in terms of civilization. According to Said, having
knowledge is to dominate it; having authority is to deny autonomy to the Oriental country. Evidently,
the inaccurate Western cultural perception towards Eastern world has resulted in the practice of power
over, what they presumed, the weaker countries. Java was once an influential Hindu Buddhist empire

Service Quality Of English Islamic Banks
Abdullrahim (2010) in her dissertation titled Service Quality of English Islamic Banks used a

the methodology I will propose to use in my study. Abdullrahim (2010) used a mixed methodology of
qualitative (focus group) and quantitative (questionnaire) to conduct the study. A modified service

Age Of Exploration During The Commercial Revolution
Age of Exploration (1350 1550) (Call to Freedom CTF)
The Commercial Revolution changed Europe by changing the way people did business in the 1200s.
On page 33 in CTF, the second paragraph states During the Commercial Revolution, however,
merchants and craftspeople became more aggressive about making a profit. Many Landlords wanted
farmers to grow crops to be sold on their rented land. Cities grew rich from specific things such as
dying cloth in Florence and glassmaking in Venice. They also brought rare goods from far away
making many cities have rich trading centers. Not everybody could afford a business because people
were too obsessed with making money. Instead, they created joint stock companies just in case their
business didn t work out as planned. People opened banks to earn capital from interest such as the
Medici family. Europe reached a high point where many people were wealthy and gained more power
changing rising Europe s economy and power causing many monopolies. There was also great growth
in the merchant s class and towns/urban centers (Page 33, CTF). The Commercial Revolution was
greatly based off trade (CTF, PG. 35, Paragraph 3 6) and many things were traveled via the Silk Road.
When trading with other places, people became interested in where these things were from so the
explored and looked for these places. Another reason for people exploring was that they wanted to

The black community was able to gain justice and equal rights in America by protesting and marching.
Gay and lesbians have gained equal rights as well through social movement. Due to the economic

history it shows that racism began with white Anglo Saxons taking over Native American lands, and
then eventually bringing in slavery of African people; which ultimately led to white wealth. White

Unjust enrichment is defined as circumstances that give rise to the obligation of restitution, that is,
receiving and retention of property, money, or benefits which in justice and equality belong together
(11). Black American s were subjected and forced to work so that the wealth would continue to grow
amongst the white population. President Abraham Lincoln suggested in his Second Inaugural Address
in 1865 that the war was caused by the greed and wealth of the white Americans. White American s
taken all of the wealth and prospered as much as possible which led the black Americans to poverty
and oppression that is still seen today. Unjust impoverishment is a way to describe the conditions of
those who suffer such oppression (11). Since the poverty and oppression that was created by white

Resurrection In Charles Dicken s A Tale Of Two Cities
The concept of resurrection has always been an alluring subject in all cultures. Some believe this can
be achieved through purification and repentance. Throughout the book, situations arise in which
characters allude to rising again in a new life. The reader sees to what length people will go to bring
about improvement in a beloved s life, or to achieve a much desired afterlife of one s own. In Charles
Dicken s novel, A Tale of Two Cities, the idea of resurrection plays a huge role in the lives of many
characters, including Dr. Manette, Sydney Carton, and Jerry Cruncher; the theme also adds to Dickens
s message by illustrating the importance of love, morality, and faith. One very significant example is
of Dr. Manette, who originally was traumatized as a result of his unfair imprisonment but eventually is
recalled to life (Dickens 13). While Dr. Manette was in jail, he grappled exhaustingly every day trying
to deal with his deteriorating mental state. His time spent in the Bastille is compared to him being
buried alive for this reason; it was so inhumane and cruel that he felt dead. Dr. Manette was essentially
being brought back to life with his release from prison. However, Dr. Manette s rebirth has just begun
and does not become complete until he is reunited with his daughter (Dingyuan and Xiaohua 91). His
freedom does not only affect his life, it has a huge impact on his daughter and even other characters

Night By Elie Wiesel Book Report
Connector
Introduction: The majority of the content perceived in Obasan are interconnected to another novel (
Night , by Elie Wiesel) that I read previously.
Night Connection : First of all, the author of Night experienced many catastrophic occurrences the
most brutal one was being a victim in a concentration camp (luckily, Elie was a survivor and he
immigrated to France once the US helped free all the prisoners), along with his family who were
sundered from each other. Similarly, the novel also tells us the story of a boy (roughly the age of
Naomi from Obasan) whose name is Elizer , who lives in Hungary where he is raised in a family that
have the beliefs of an Orthodox Jew. Also, the book mentions that the father, mother and the sister of
Eliezer die due to the poor conditions in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another similarity in the book is how the mother, father and a sibling of Obasan also passed away
(due to the Nagasaki bombing, which caused maggots to eat her alive). Also, the memories that Naomi
was talking about happened around the same time the Jews were sent to extermination camps. As a
child, Naomi was also physically abused by an adult; however, his intention was in a sexual manner
compared to the disciplinal intention that the Nazis committed to their prisoners. Lastly, Joy and Elie
were both survivors of the horrific events they had to experience and they ended up writing novels that
are heavily based on all the traumatic events they had to go

How Culture Affects Financial Reporting And Auditing With...
Abstract In today s society, the international trading constitutes an increasingly significant portion of
the world economy than ever before. Having opened more subsidiaries in different countries and
invested in foreign markets, companies and investors are more exposed to problems reading
accounting records and auditing reports composed under different accounting principles. To better
understand the reason behind the accounting diversity, we need to dig into countries different cultural
background which imposes great influence on formation of accounting and auditing principles and
ways people practice. This paper will analyze how culture affects financial reporting and auditing with
the support of classic culture theories and facts. Introduction International accounting, a term given
birth by modern society, is a concept which encompasses all function areas of various accounting
principles and practices followed by every nation in the world. The international accounting consists
of three different levels. First level is the supranational level which signifies principles, standards and
guidelines of accounting, auditing and taxation issued by supranational organizations such as UN,
OECD and IFA (International accounting, Timothy and Hector, 2011, P1). The second level is the
company level which denotes the principles and techniques that people follow to report transactions
and evaluate foreign companies performance. The third level, the broadest one, can be viewed as the

The Between Heat And Energy
The term thermodynamics is known as the branch of physics that covers the relationship between heat
or temperature and all the forms of energy, including mechanical, electrical, or chemical.
Thermodynamics is a combination of four laws, which are known as zeroth law of thermodynamics,
first law of thermodynamics, second law of thermodynamics, and third law of thermodynamics.
According to Wolfram, The relation between heat and energy was important for the development of
steam engines, and in 1824 Sadi Carnot had captured some of the ideas of thermodynamics in his
discussion of the efficiency of an idealized engine (1019). After this statement was made, scientist
developed its laws. The term thermal equilibrium is when two bodies are at the same temperature.
Therefore, the zeroth law of thermodynamics states that if two bodies are in thermal equilibrium with
a third body, they are all in thermal equilibrium. In other words, they are all have the same
temperature. Joseph Black was one of the first scientist and physic known as founder of the zeroth law
of thermodynamics in the late 18th century.
The first law of thermodynamics states that heat energy can not be created or destroyed. It can be just
transformed into other forms or transferred into another location. Rudolf Clausius and William
Rankine were the first physics that made a full statement of the first law of thermodynamics in 1850.
It is also known as another version of the law of conservation of energy.

How Did Alexander The Great Influence Rome
King Philip ruled ancient Greece from 359 BC right up to his death in 336 BC. After his demise, his
son, Alexander, took up his fathers mantle and continued his work as a ruler. Thus began the reign of
one of the greatest rulers in human history, Alexander the Great, who ruled almost all of the
Mediterranean. Alexander s empire strectched from Greece to India, spreading Greek ideas throughout
and many cities were named after the great ruler. Alexander s reign only lasted 13 years, but his
impact has left a mark on human history as many cities throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe still bare
his name and the fact that his death triggered the start of a new era. Alexander the Great ruled during
an era known as the Classical Era, which greatly influenced the Roman empire, this era ... Show more

The Hellenistic era ended in the year 31 B.C. with the battle of Actium, it was the final battle between
Octavian s army and Cleopatra s army. The Roman s not only conquered Italy, but it also had power
over the entire coast of the Adriatic sea and much like Alexander the Great, they were looking to
expand throughout the continent of Europe and seeked to conquer beyond Europe. After the battle of
Actium, the entire Hellenic world was under Rome s control and Greece was controlled by various
rulers until it s independence in the 19th century. The new Roman era was one that will change the
world forever with many wars and battles that shaped our history and of course, the birth and death of
Jesus Christ thus beginning a new world religion, Christianity. Now, every era in human history has
given us something that has shaped our contemporary world, the Hellenistic era gave us the modern
library, but an era is named and timed not by the people living through it, but the historians who study
it centuries later. So where did the Hellenistic era get it s name and where did it come

healthier relationship. It allows young people become more confident. Towards the end of the novel,
Marina realised she did not exactly hate her father even though he permanently scarred her face. The
relationship between the two got a bit stronger towards the end, when they decided to send letters to

The Wright Brothers Essay
The Wright Brothers The world was changed on December 17, 1903 when Orville Wright flew the
first airplane for a period of 12 seconds. Orville, born in 1871 and his brother Wilbur, born in 1867
grew up in Dayton Ohio with two other brothers, Reuchlin and Lorin and one sister Katherine. They
grew up in a loving family, which helped the brothers with the success in their future. Many people
are not aware that much of their knowledge that went into the makings of the airplane came from their
mother Susan and the bicycle repair shop they owned. Interestingly, Wilbur and Orville were not the
men who first thought of flying. In the 16th century, Leonardo de Vinci had thoughts of a flying
machine that was ahead its time, though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As for Orville, he did not enjoy or excel in school, as had his brother. He was an average student. He
was problematic, and his behavior caused him to drop out of high school in his junior year. He
developed aspirations to start a printing press firm. The brothers built their own press with cheap
parts, and used it to print their own newspaper as well as other printing jobs. Their attempt at the firm
was unsuccessful, so the boys bought a bicycle shop in 1893. This bike shop became a place where
much thinking and production towards aviation took place. The Wright Cycle shop opened in 1893.
They made bike repairing their own business. After three years of this business they made their own
bikes called Van Cleves and St. Clairs. They moved their store 6 times before they converted their
store into machinery shop for their manufacturing business. The men of aviation before the Wright
brothers had little but significant impact on the process of building the airplane. George Cayley lived
in the late 1700 s and early 1800 s. He was one of the first men to understand that to fly is not to
imitate the flapping wings of a bird but to use rigid wings. This was a very important idea that proved
to be true for the future. Europeans were at work to beat the Americans in building the first heavier
than air plane. Otto Lilienthal, a German engineer, experimented with hang gliders. His main focus
was on a fixed wing glider not on a

  • 2. Server Virtualization And Software Virtualization Server Virtualization Abstract: During past thirty years, the term concept of server virtualization has invoked in order to allow the large expensive main frame servers to be used and shared among the different application layered environments from various geographical locations. Server Virtualization is a process of portioning the single main server into several server partitions . In clear terms to state, main server is being used as many number of cloned severs where maximum programmers/users can access that cloned server in their work area location locally satisfying the user requirements reducing the cost effectiveness. Availability of hardware in market made virtualization concept to fade away. In modern era, virtualization at the different levels alike network, storage and system has gained much more importance in terms of improving the system security, reliability and availability. Server Virtualization is a gate way for the organization in order to reduce their cost efficiency compared to any other modern technologies. Concept of Server virtualization is the most effective and desired method of executing and to make run on the different virtual operating systems which are collectively used on single physical layer which would be maximizing the cost investment on hardware. • 3. Analysis Of Martin Luther King Jr. s Letter From... A just law is a man made code that squares with the moral law, or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. (3) In 1963 in this particular statement made by Martin Luther King Jr. in his Letter from Birmingham Jail, he explained how man made (white men) laws were created to persecute the black race, and how it is his duty to fight against such laws. He was the one who articulated the progressive hope of many African Americans along with other colored Americans to have civil rights. At that time, African Americans were battling against racial segregation and discrimination and they fought it continually and solely until they achieve the freedom they want. His main goal was to achieve justice and peace amongst colored people, including white Americans. The civil rights movement in 1964 has led to remarkable forward advances for individuals rights for African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics, and Asian Americans. Today in this country, individual rights are highly valued and this was because of the four racial groups who had fought and faced the different struggles for this movement. However, African Americans suffered more than the other groups in terms of political, social, and economic roles while making progress for the advancement of the civil rights movement. During the slave trade era (1619 1863), millions of Africans were brought to the U.S. to be sold as slaves. The need for slavery existed in the plantation of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Antony And Cleopatra Research Paper In the year 51 B.C. Cleopatra became queen when she was 18 years old. She ruled with her brother Ptolemy XIII, who was only 10 years old and not old enough to rule by himself. She also became his wife, which was a formality because of his age. Cleopatra was strong willed and ambitious. She wanted to bring her county to the glory of its former days. However Ptolemy s advisers drove Cleopatra out of Egypt by the time she was 20 years old. Cleopatra was determined to fight for the throne, so she made an army in Syria and prepared to go to war against her brother. However, before the battle could begin it was interrupted by the arrival of Julius Caesar the most powerful man in all of Rome. He was pursuing his defeated rival in a Roman Civil war. ... While she was distracted by this conversation, Octavian s men brought a ladder around to the very window through which Antony had been carried. Once inside, they rushed down the stairs and took her captive. Octavian allowed Cleopatra to give Antony a lavish funeral, as befitted a king. Then he ordered her to make ready for a voyage to Rome. She knew what would happen to her there. Cleopatra would be the highlight of Octavian s triumphal parade. She would be led in chains through the streets of Rome where the crowd would mock and curse her. She returned to her room and washed up after she enjoyed a sumptuous meal. It was her last. I continue to apply this life long lesson on the wrestling mats with my coaches at every meet, practice, and free time. It was the Bend City Championships (wrestling). Part 1: Descriptive Data and Summary Statistics of the Five Mutual Fund Table 1: We selected 5 mutual funds that have 80% of more invested in stock equity securities in the mutual fund. The 5 mutual funds all have different investment styles according to Morningstar. The investment objective defines what each mutual fund s long term goals are. It includes things such as required return, the risk tolerance, and investment time horizon. The investment style is the different strategy used to set asset allocation of the mutual fund. It sets expectations for long term portfolio performance. For example, VTICX focuses on large blend, where HASCX focuses on small blend; meaning that they will target different portfolio asset allocations. Each fund will allocate its funds differently and in different proportions. The investment strategy is a set of rules, behaviors or procedures designed to guide an investor s selection of an investment portfolio. • 8. Essay on In Defense of Historical Fiction The genre of historical fiction novels can be subdivided into many categories and often crosses genres, such as historical mysteries and romances. The traditional definition of the historical fiction genre is fiction set in the past where the author is writing from research rather than personal experience. This definition leaves a lot of room for interpretation, controversy, and contradiction. Critics in the media, even when they praise individual historical novels in their reviews, somehow manage to turn this praise into criticism of the genre as a whole. In 1950, author Howard Fast, a historical novelist himself, wrote: This is an era of many historical novels, few of them good and very few indeed which have more than a nodding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain is a classic example of a successful historical fiction novel depicting the life and adventures of youthful boys in the Mississippi River town of St. Petersburg, Missouri and various locations along the river through Arkansas. Readers of this novel are confronted with difficult themes such as slavery and revolution in the south before the Civil War. In chapter 6 of the novel we see Huck s father, Pap, confronted with a finely dressed and educated free African American. As the man passes Pap states, There, now that s a specimen. They call that a govment that can t sell a free nigger till he s been in the State six months. Here s a govment that calls itself a govment, and lets on to be a govment, and thinks it is a govment, and yet s got to set stock still for six whole months before it can take a hold of a prowling, thieving, infernal, white shirted free nigger. (Twain 151). This little speech by Pap shows that he s a blatant racist who treats African Americans as though they are not at all human beings. This novel is full of authentic points of view from the various characters Huck encounters on his adventures. Twain uses dialog such as this to educate readers about past conflicts such as the Civil War and slavery. Although highly controversial, this novel has been used as an educational tool in English literature classrooms for years. The point is there are numerous historical fiction ... Most people probably imagine an American Flag, maybe some are thinking of their home, but one thing that will not be far from everyone s mind when they think of America, is democracy. Democracy is one of the foundations of our country, and is one of the thousands of things that make America a free nation. Although America prides itself on freedom, specifically freedom of expression, only about half of our citizens are taking part in their civic duty. There are many reasons for this, some that are unsolvable, but as a nation, we must do better to make voting more readily available for all citizens. One way to do this, is to allow early voting. Currently, 37 states allow some form of early voting, but Pennsylvania is not one of them (STATE LAWS GOVERNING EARLY VOTING.) I m proposing for the Pennsylvania State Government to take action, and allow early voting for the sake of their people. The 2016 election was one that most would consider the most in your face election The United States has ever seen, and still only 55.7% of eligible citizens voted (Bureau, US Census.) According to the Pew Research Center, the US ranks 31 out of 35 when compared to other developed nations around the world (Pew Research.) Two of the most common forms of communication in this field are current affairs programs and news broadcasts. This is due to the fact that an Intelligence Officer must compose and distribute reports and briefings to military units and other military leaders, effectively lead the soldiers they may have under their command and finally, they have to be able to interrogate people captured by military combat units. When presenting briefings and reports, the officer, as the sender, must be able to articulate, ascertaining the receiver understands the message even if there are other environmental conditions mitigating his ability to hear. Doing this will ensure that whenever those who attended the briefing are deployed or go to make plans they will be able to have the best information ensuring that the objective can be accomplished. Another reason that interpersonal communication is so important for an Intelligence Officer is that without being effective at interpersonal communication they will not be able to effectively lead soldiers in their platoon (Hawkins, 1985). Communication in the army goes far beyond that of simply exchanging information. Commanders use communication to strengthen bonds within a command. He created the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to protect the revolution within his country and keep the conventional army forces, who remained loyal to the Shah, from rising up against him. He also hoped that the large population of Shi a Muslims in Iraq would support his mission and rise up against their secular leader; this would keep the revolution going strong. Iran cut all ties with the United States and lost its dominance in the area; it s army was disorganized and weak. The Iranian Revolution created disorder in many Iranian military units and Iranian confrontation with the U.S. ensured it would be cut off from its primary weapons supplier. During the year after the fall of the Shah, many areas of Iran were approaching civil war; this frenzy in Iran made the country seem much more vulnerable than it really was, and led Saddam Hussein to feel he had his first genuine opportunity to make Iraq the dominant power in the area and the Arab world (Cordesman Wagner, 1990). Hussein knew that there was a possibility that the Shi a population in Iraq could rise against him, but he also knew there was a chance that he could get the Arabs in the southwest regions or Iran to rally behind him. Iran publicly supported Shi a and Kurdish rebellion in Iraq and due to tense relationships and continued border clashes over territorial disputes, tensions increased. • 20. Women During The Nineteenth Century Women both in Europe and America during the nineteenth century were living in a society that was characterised by gender inequality (Wwnorton.com, 2015). In the early periods of the century, women were expected to remain passive and subservient to the male counterparts. They were denied many of the legal, social, or even political rights, which in the modern world we consider as a right (Wwnorton.com, 2015). Thus, generally speaking women who belonged to the middle and upper classes remained home; they were expected to care for their children and run the household. In contrast, lower class women worked more frequently and so had other roles to play in society, which was outside the home. However they were likely to be poorly paid servants ... The roles of women were undergoing significant change, and so therefore many of the writers reflect this change in their writing, and so we see different explorations of the roles of women in society. Many of the writers in the nineteenth century explored the role that women played in society. The historical changes that occurred in this period prompted much discussion and argument about the nature and role women played in society. The reform bills of 1932 and 1867 stimulated the discussion of women s political rights (Wwnorton.com, p. 418). These changes inevitably were reflected in the works of many of the nineteenth century writers, as the industrial revolution presented a challenge to the traditional perceptions of the female stereotype. Emily Bronte s Jane Eyre being a very prominent work of literature at the time, as she challenged stereotypes by creating a female heroine that did not meet the social conventions of a woman living in the nineteenth century. The female protagonist Jane articulates passionately the view that women are not different from men, but need a field of action as much as their brothers (Wwnorton.com, p. 420). Bronte presents to her readers a character that challenges the notion that women depend on men, and so we see Jane striving for independence. Bronte challenges the Victorian ideals as her character Jane finds love on an equal basis, and not for financial security, which was an important feature in Victorian society. This ... It is the most solemn day of the Jewish year, Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement offers an entire day devoted to self examination. Many spend the day in synagogue devoted to prayer and study while abstaining from food and drink. The goal is to begin the New Year with a clean slate, which can be good for many of the Jews who do bad things and need a new start at life. And after that would come Sukkot. This seven day festival celebrates the fall harvest and also commemorates the time when the Hebrews dwelt in the Sinai wilderness on their way to the Promised land of Israel, which is important for the Jewish people because they don t want to end up in what they called pit of fire. Also, the holiday is celebrated by building (and then dwelling in) ceremonial huts called Sukkot. Finally comes Hanukkah. This beloved eight day winter festival celebrates the miracle of a small cruse of oil when it burned for eight days, instead of only one. It also celebrates the military victory of the Jewish Maccabees over the powerful Syrian Greek army in 167 BCE. The victory was followed by a rededication(Hanukkah) of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. Additionally, I asked my girlfriend if she had a movie recommendation out of the list of films that were available after removing the movies I had already seen. Ultimately, Precious stood out to her as an excellent movie that painted an insightful illustration of life in the poor inner city community. Although she saw the movie several years ago, she recalled that the film evoked many strong emotional responses which made a lasting impact and enduring perspective. Once she gave that feedback, the decision of which movie to watch was not difficult. The Gospel Of Mark And The Synoptic Gospel The Gospels of Mark, Luke and Matthew are called the Synoptic Gospels because they all share many of the same stories including some verses that are word for word identical. Most scholar believe that the Gospel of Mark was written first with the Gospel of Luke and Matthew having been written later using Mark and other sources. Since the authors of Luke and Matthew had Mark as a guide while writing, the differences between the three gospels are purposeful and have theological importance. The selected verses in the three gospels contain the same general structure with Jesus asking who the public and his disciples think he is and then correcting them. However, the additions, removals and revisions Luke and Matthew contain change the focus of the argument and have theological implications. In the Gospel of Mark, the disciples are predominantly mentioned to highlight their and by extension, the public s, lack of understanding of Jesus and his ministry. In Mark 8:29 however, Peter distinguishes himself from the public and correctly answers that Jesus is the Messiah. The title of Messiah is not explicitly defined in the Gospel of Mark but instead I used to differentiate Jesus from the prophets who came before him. As Black writes on page 195 Messiah does not define Jesus; to the contrary, Jesus redefines the term Messiah. Many Landlords wanted farmers to grow crops to be sold on their rented land. Cities grew rich from specific things such as dying cloth in Florence and glassmaking in Venice. • 40. Joe R Feagin Systematic Racism Several researchers suggest that America s foundation was created on racism and discrimination. In history it shows that racism began with white Anglo Saxons taking over Native American lands, and then eventually bringing in slavery of African people; which ultimately led to white wealth. White people have ultimately flourished by making minority groups inferior to them. Joe R. Feagin s (2014) article Systematic Racism: A Comprehensive Perspective, explains the history of America and how it was created on racism and discrimination and how unjust enrichment and impoverishment have created today s society. Joe R. Feagin explains that systematic racism has been a dominant concept since the founding of the United States. Racism began with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unjust enrichment is defined as circumstances that give rise to the obligation of restitution, that is, receiving and retention of property, money, or benefits which in justice and equality belong together (11). Black American s were subjected and forced to work so that the wealth would continue to grow amongst the white population. President Abraham Lincoln suggested in his Second Inaugural Address in 1865 that the war was caused by the greed and wealth of the white Americans. White American s taken all of the wealth and prospered as much as possible which led the black Americans to poverty and oppression that is still seen today. Unjust impoverishment is a way to describe the conditions of those who suffer such oppression (11). Since the poverty and oppression that was created by white Americans, black Americans sill struggle today. For instance, Black full time male workers earn less per week than white full time male workers, in most of the country s major occupational groups (18). Unjust impoverishment is continuously seen in today s society not only through the wage gap but in housing and education as well. • 41. Resurrection In Charles Dicken s A Tale Of Two Cities The concept of resurrection has always been an alluring subject in all cultures. Some believe this can be achieved through purification and repentance. Throughout the book, situations arise in which characters allude to rising again in a new life. The reader sees to what length people will go to bring about improvement in a beloved s life, or to achieve a much desired afterlife of one s own. In Charles Dicken s novel, A Tale of Two Cities, the idea of resurrection plays a huge role in the lives of many characters, including Dr. Manette, Sydney Carton, and Jerry Cruncher; the theme also adds to Dickens s message by illustrating the importance of love, morality, and faith. One very significant example is of Dr. Manette, who originally was traumatized as a result of his unfair imprisonment but eventually is recalled to life (Dickens 13). While Dr. Manette was in jail, he grappled exhaustingly every day trying to deal with his deteriorating mental state. His time spent in the Bastille is compared to him being buried alive for this reason; it was so inhumane and cruel that he felt dead. Dr. Manette was essentially being brought back to life with his release from prison. However, Dr. Manette s rebirth has just begun and does not become complete until he is reunited with his daughter (Dingyuan and Xiaohua 91). His freedom does not only affect his life, it has a huge impact on his daughter and even other characters like Darnay. Lucie s unconditional love for her father is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Night By Elie Wiesel Book Report Connector Introduction: The majority of the content perceived in Obasan are interconnected to another novel ( Night , by Elie Wiesel) that I read previously. Night Connection : First of all, the author of Night experienced many catastrophic occurrences the most brutal one was being a victim in a concentration camp (luckily, Elie was a survivor and he immigrated to France once the US helped free all the prisoners), along with his family who were sundered from each other. Similarly, the novel also tells us the story of a boy (roughly the age of Naomi from Obasan) whose name is Elizer , who lives in Hungary where he is raised in a family that have the beliefs of an Orthodox Jew. As a child, Naomi was also physically abused by an adult; however, his intention was in a sexual manner compared to the disciplinal intention that the Nazis committed to their prisoners. Abstract In today s society, the international trading constitutes an increasingly significant portion of the world economy than ever before. • 45. The Between Heat And Energy The term thermodynamics is known as the branch of physics that covers the relationship between heat or temperature and all the forms of energy, including mechanical, electrical, or chemical. Thermodynamics is a combination of four laws, which are known as zeroth law of thermodynamics, first law of thermodynamics, second law of thermodynamics, and third law of thermodynamics. According to Wolfram, The relation between heat and energy was important for the development of steam engines, and in 1824 Sadi Carnot had captured some of the ideas of thermodynamics in his discussion of the efficiency of an idealized engine (1019). After this statement was made, scientist developed its laws. The term thermal equilibrium is when two bodies are at the same temperature. Therefore, the zeroth law of thermodynamics states that if two bodies are in thermal equilibrium with a third body, they are all in thermal equilibrium. In other words, they are all have the same temperature. Joseph Black was one of the first scientist and physic known as founder of the zeroth law of thermodynamics in the late 18th century. The first law of thermodynamics states that heat energy can not be created or destroyed. It can be just transformed into other forms or transferred into another location. Rudolf Clausius and William Rankine were the first physics that made a full statement of the first law of thermodynamics in 1850. It is also known as another version of the law of conservation of energy. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. The Wright Brothers Essay The Wright Brothers The world was changed on December 17, 1903 when Orville Wright flew the first airplane for a period of 12 seconds. Orville, born in 1871 and his brother Wilbur, born in 1867 grew up in Dayton Ohio with two other brothers, Reuchlin and Lorin and one sister Katherine. They grew up in a loving family, which helped the brothers with the success in their future. Many people are not aware that much of their knowledge that went into the makings of the airplane came from their mother Susan and the bicycle repair shop they owned. Interestingly, Wilbur and Orville were not the men who first thought of flying. In the 16th century, Leonardo de Vinci had thoughts of a flying machine that was ahead its time, though ... He was problematic, and his behavior caused him to drop out of high school in his junior year. He developed aspirations to start a printing press firm. The brothers built their own press with cheap parts, and used it to print their own newspaper as well as other printing jobs. Their attempt at the firm was unsuccessful, so the boys bought a bicycle shop in 1893. This bike shop became a place where much thinking and production towards aviation took place. The Wright Cycle shop opened in 1893. They made bike repairing their own business. After three years of this business they made their own bikes called Van Cleves and St. Clairs. They moved their store 6 times before they converted their store into machinery shop for their manufacturing business. The men of aviation before the Wright brothers had little but significant impact on the process of building the airplane. George Cayley lived in the late 1700 s and early 1800 s. He was one of the first men to understand that to fly is not to imitate the flapping wings of a bird but to use rigid wings. This was a very important idea that proved to be true for the future. Europeans were at work to beat the Americans in building the first heavier than air plane. Otto Lilienthal, a German engineer, experimented with hang gliders.
