2. Finding Scholarships For Non-Traditional Students
Finding scholarships can be a challenge. As an adult learner, it may seem like there isn t anything left
to help you as you go back to learn. However, there are plenty of scholarship and funding
opportunities available for non traditional students. You just need to know where to look.
Your first step should always be filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The
FAFSA tells you how much in federal grants, scholarships and loans you qualify for based on income
and the school you are attending, among other factors.
Next, check out scholarship matching websites such as Fastweb.com or Scholarships.com. These sites
ask you to fill out personal information and then match you to scholarships that fit your needs and
qualifications,

3. The Battle Of Kapyong During The Korean War
The Battle of Kapyong was initiated by the Chinese and Korean forces that were attempting to
recapture lost territory. Aware of how crucial the land was to their enemy, UN forces dug in to
Kapyong Valley and prepared to cover the South Korean forces that were withdrawing from the 38th
Parallel. The Canadians were located in Hill 677, and the Australians on Hill 504. The Australians
bore the brunt of the first attack and were forced to withdraw, overwhelmed by the vast number of
enemy troops. However, the soldiers of 2PPCLI stood their ground, and prepared to meet the
communist assault headfirst. Their defence proved to be a success, and the last remaining soldiers of
the Chinese army retreated with haste. The soldiers of 2PPCLI were replaced by American
reinforcements, allowed to get the rest they dearly deserved. From that point onwards, little full scale
battles took place, instead replaced by smaller skirmishes across the 38th Parallel. The victory at
Kapyong Valley was a turning point in the war; it stabilized the frontlines, successfully covered the
South Korean retreat, and protected Seoul from re occupation. If it weren t for the Canadian s stand,
the Chinese army would have an an excellent position to make an assault on the South Korean Capital
Seoul, and would meet comparatively little opposition with the South Korean and UN forces
weakened from previous battles. At the end of the war the 2PPCLI and the other units that were
defending the valley each received a

4. Patriarchy Of Ancient Indian Women
In Ancient India, much like many other ancient civilizations, women were dominated by men. In these
patriarchal societies, women served only to please and obey her husband. Men were viewed as heros,
with intelligence and strength, while their wives value was simply due to their beauty. The Ramayana,
which was written in this patriarchal era, exemplifies these beliefs. It achieves this by blaming females
for the unfortunate events that take place throughout the story. This Hindu story was written around
500 BC by one of the first well known poets, Valmiki. This epic poem is written in the ancient
language of Sanskrit and explores human values. Because of its lasting impact, it provides an example
in the duties of relationships, and how Hindu s must be the most ideal father, brother, king, and wife.

anyone enter the house, but is too naive to avoid Ravana, the disguised evil ruler of Lanka, and
ultimately invites him into her house. Because of this she can do nothing to prevent her kidnapping. It
is Sita s individual decision to allow Ravana into the home that causes her capture. She was not even
able to protect herself from harm. Here, Valmiki, is blaming a woman for the troubles that ensue
throughout. He implies that if not for her lack of intelligence, Rama would have never had to go and

What is CSR and why has it risen to prominence in the past decade?
There are now several concepts of CSR and its definition, along with the meaning across corporations.
In my opinion, and according with our textbook in page 11. CSR is about a particular set of business
and strategies that deal with social issues. In addition, we can clearly perceive that CSRs application
along corporations has increase in the past decade due to the several local, and international
regulations in order to enforce business to act responsible.

SMEs, the public and civil sectors.
There are several factors that determine that at the moment CSR is primarily relevant to large private
sectors, according with our textbook, First, SMEs are informal in nature and this reason lack the need
for bureaucratic systems and its structures due to the advantages of small size businesses. Second,
large corporations, are often under the loop of the society and their actions are visible and vulnerable
to criticism. And third, usually the small business are manger by the owner and for this reason, there is
not obligation or direct pressure to serve the shareholders to maximize or return their investment at
any cost.

6. Uses And Limitations Of Biosensors
Detecting bacteria is a rapidly expanding field of research, producing innovative and effective ways of
overcoming a variety of existing limitations. Current laboratory based bacterial detection and
identification techniques often require long procedures, provide low sensitivity and specificity as well
as slow turnaround times. These conventional techniques include microscopy, culturing bacteria,
polymerase chain reactions (PCR) and biochemical assays.
There is a heavy emphasis on developing new biosensors to overcome these prominent drawbacks. An
ideal biosensor would provide a detection sensitivity less than 103 CFU/ml within minutes,
distinguish between serotypes of bacteria in complex environments, be compact and portable, require

These methods allow for quantitative and kinetic measurements of interactions and often measure
refractive index changes, which determines the sample concentration or surface density. [7]
Traditionally, label free techniques were not highly sensitive due to the lack of signal amplification
which would be provided by a label. However, there have been advancements in this field that will be
discussed which have provided label free biosensors with high sensitivities.
For specific sensing applications, it is desirable to have the bacterial detection sensor immobilized
rather than suspended in solutions. Immobilisation allows the static sensor component to be washed
and re used, thus decreasing the long term cost to the user. These sensor surfaces are commonly
designed to resist fouling and non specific interactions, as well as provide a permanent attachment of
the sensing components without negating the sensing capabilities. Without immobilization of the
sensing components, the systems often leave the sample contaminated with the sensing components.
Depending on the hazard levels and toxicity of the sample post detection, it could require waste
disposal protocols which are inconvenient, expensive and reduce the probability of wide scale
implementation of the detection method. To counter this setback, a number of optical bacterial

7. What Is The Theme Of The Senttry By Wilfred Owen
Hello my name is Jarod Class: Y2JB and today for my IOC I ve chosen the poem The Sentry by
Wilfred Owen. In this poem Wilfred Owen actually experiences this event as they were taking cover
from enemy artillery shells and unfortunately one of the sentries was hit by one of the shells and were
blinded therefore this poem was very personal to him. Owen began writing the poem the Sentry while
he was receiving hospital treatment in Crag Lockhart in 1917. He then made alterations while he was
in Scarborough 1918 when he was training to return to France and the poem was finally completed in
September of 1918 a few weeks before his timely demise during the war. This is personal to Wilfred

before they graduate. Every student is assigned to a social service organization. In the same way, I was
assigned to work at St. Xavier s Social Service Center whose primary target was to help children who
lost their parents during civil war. I still remember the first day of my social service. As soon as I
entered the social service center, I was in a huge hall where more than 30 children were studying. The
hall had nothing but a thin carpet. Everyone was so surprised to see a new face. I introduced myself
and said that I was there to help them with their studies. After few minutes of ice breaker, everyone
continued with their works. After roaming for some time and helping some children with their work, I
saw a little boy in the middle of the hall. His feet was covered with a blanket. He seemed confused. I
went to him and asked if he had any problems. He was shy at first, but after sometime he told me that
he had problems solving his mathematics homework. I helped him and stayed with him until he
completed everything. He was quite a talented guy. He grabbed the concepts quickly. After an hour, it
was time for him to go to his school. He signaled one of his friend something. After few minutes, his
friend showed up with a wheel chair. This was when I realized that the kid didn t have his left leg. I

10. America Stands At A Crossroads
America stands at a crossroads. The Fascists in Europe and the Imperialists in Japan threaten the very
foundation of our nation. Our troops fight valiantly to beat back these enemies who seek to encroach
upon our values of freedom and equality. Yet, in the background, a domestic war wages on. Of course,
I refer to the plight of Negro Americans against Jim Crow. Our political leaders constantly request the
patience of Negro promising change is right around the corner. However, many have come to
understand the emptiness of these words. If change will not come from the top then it must come from
the people, and it begins with the integration of baseball. Why baseball? you may ask. It is because
baseball is the quintessential mark of being an American. European immigrants, who are often
different from native born Americans in terms of language and religion, have been able to integrate
into American life simply by playing or being fans of the sport. The connections formed on the field
and in the stands have given native born Americans and immigrants an opportunity to connect, to
understand, and to respect one another. This pattern of understanding and respect coming through
association has been seen elsewhere as well. I remember how Negroes and Whites worked alongside
one another in New York during the Great War. It was undoubtedly a rough transition, yet because of
firm management, very few problems arose as I recall, not a single hate strike occurred during that
time.

11. Symptoms Of Chronic Wasting Disease
In the last 13 years, cases of Chronic Wasting Disease have increased to over 25% in bucks and over
10% in does (Marien). With CWD being such a deadly disease, the rising percentage of cases has led
to decreasing deer populations. Because the spread of CWD has resulted in many deaths, fewer
hunting tags are allowed in affected areas to help the deer herd get healthy again. It is possible,
though, that as the populations grow back, CWD may also become more prevalent. Actually stopping
this tragic disease is a challenge, but plans must be put in place to bring its spread to a halt. Therefore,
it is important that hunters and the general public be informed of what CWD is, how it is spread, how
it affects animals, and what can be done to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To avoid the death of the entire herd, it is important for the farmer to be able to identify the symptoms
and confirm whether or not CWD is present. If any of the deer test positive, the farmer should put
those animals down. This will not only stop the spread of CWD, but it will also stop the animals from
suffering as it can take a long time for them to finally expire after getting this disease. Unfortunately, it
is hard to tell whether an animal is infected with CWD, since it could take up to as much as 18 months
for the disease to disable the central nervous system of the deer. Of course, it can set in sooner or later,
but with a deer infected for such a long time, it could lead to the owner having to put down the rest of
his animals due to possible contamination.
Killing captive animals that may be infected is a necessary safety precaution in case some of them
escape into the wild. In fact, this happened in Fairchild, Wisconsin. Twenty deer from an infected deer
farm fled when a tree fell and knocked over the fence. Of them, 17 were either shot or returned and
eventually put down. In the end, all of the deer at the Fairchild farm, 228 in total, had been put down.
Of those 228 deer, 23 were found CWD positive. It is certainly possible then that any of the three
unfound escaped deer could have also been infected and spread CWD throughout the surrounding
herds. After the gun season in that

13. Comparison Between Good And Evil In Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
Good Vs. Evil in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde The battle line between good and evil runs through the heart
of every man. (Solzhenitsyn) In the story Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson,
Dr.Jekyll has this battle of good and evil within himself. He has the idea to separate his evil half
known as Mr. Hyde with a potion. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde focuses on duality of man and human
nature. Stevenson develops the theme of good and evil throughout the story using the setting,
characters, and the city of London. In the beginning of the story Mr. Utterson, a lawyer, and Mr.
Enfield, a doctor, are taking their normal sunday stroll, as they are walking they pass by a house that
catches their attention. This house seems out of place, to be in the neighborhood they re in because
they are in a richer neighborhood and the door on the house looks old and rugged. Which reminds
Mr.Enfield of a story of a girl whom he witnessed getting trampled one night, and how he made the
evil man who trampled her pay money to cover what he had done. The trampling of the girl is
represented as an evil thing. Strangely, the check contained the name of a very respectable man which
aroused Enfield s suspicions about the check. Enfield refuses to reveal the name on the check.
However we find out that the evil man is actually Hyde and he wrote a check signed by Jekyll. No one
has heard of Mr. Hyde so Mr. Utterson makes it his mission to find out more about Mr. Hyde. Utterson
is a lawyer and, in fact he is Dr. Jekyll s lawyer he opens a safe that had Jekyll s will in it. He looks
over it for a long time. The terms in the will say all of the doctor s possessions are to pass into the
hands of his friend Edward Hyde if Dr. Jekyll disappears or has an unexplained absence. Utterson
goes to visit Dr. Lanyon. He thinks that Lanyon can explain Dr. Jekyll s relationship to Hyde. Lanyon
greets his friend into his home, and the two men talk for a while till Utterson says to Lanyon that they
are probably two of the oldest friends that Henry Jekyll has. Lanyon replies that he hasn t seen much
of Jekyll for years, ever since Jekyll ...became too fanciful... and ...wrong in mind...
(Stevenson,11).Which infers something of the evil act.

Introducing Object Oriented Programming to Engineering Technology students with an App
Development Tool Abstract: Object oriented programming concepts are frequently a difficult topic for
Engineering Technology educators to teach to students that have no previous object oriented
programming experience. With the recent rise of mobile computing, a powerful and robust tool is now
available to easily develop software for the Android mobile device operating system. Through App
development with a highly interactive interface and real time device feedback, difficult programming
concepts are conveyed in a highly visual and tactile learning environment. Introduction The need for
OOP and a better way to teach it. Introducing object oriented computer programming (OOP) to
Engineering Technology students who have never programmed is often difficult. Even those students
who have programmed before in other non object based languages are often apprehensive or
completely lost when introduced to Java and related OOP languages. This apprehension inhibits the
learning process and has shown a need for a more inviting development environment aside from the
blank text document with which the student is presented. A modern mobile platform application (app)
development tool offers an innovative and exciting approach to the introduction of many basic
programming skills. This free software development tool called MIT App Inventor (Abelson, 2011) or

History Research Paper on Meditation
May I be well and happy. May I be peaceful and calm. May I be protected from dangers. May my
mind be free from hatred. May my heart be filled with love. May I be well and happy. (1) Meditation
is a powerful tool that can be used by anyone regardless race, gender, social standing, religion, and
intelligence. It s a unifying practice. Meditation is a conscious effort to change how the mind works
for better understanding the world and yourself. Throughout history into present day times, meditation
is used as a key to unlock hidden areas of our subconscious mind, providing us with answers about the
meaning of life.
Meditation is believed to have had early traces all the way back in prehistoric to times, where some
religions involved rhythmic clapping and chants called Mantras. Some researches also believe that
primitive hunter gathering societies quite possibly could have discovered the different states of
consciousness while staring at fires that were used in many rituals that they had. Eventually these
simple rituals evolved into a practise that was not much more complicated to use on a daily basis. An
important source for records of meditation are the Upanishads, which are texts that discuss meditation,
philosophy and spiritual knowledge. Meditative traditions were included in the Vedas for the Hindu
religion but also had ties to Buddhism. Although mediation was happening before the time of the

According to the CDC, cardiovascular disease claims 614,348 lives in 2014 making it the leading
cause of death in the United States, accounting for 46.9% of all deaths in 2014. This percentage is
estimated to increase threefold by the end of 2016 (Heron, 2016). This is a significant issue, mainly
because, for the most part this is a preventable ailment. If not closely control, this can quickly become
an epidemic as the overall death rate increase each year. To fully understand this disease, we need to
first look at the root cause, coronary artery disease.

This exertion increases the production of catecholamines and inflammatory mediators that causes

are not rectified within 20 minutes, then irreversible cell death occurs, thus making early intervention
imminent.
Therefore, an awareness of early warning signs is important. The first symptom of a myocardial
infarction is severe and prolonged chest pain that may radiate up into the neck and/or jaw as well as
down the shoulders, back or left arm. Other symptoms include nausea and vomiting, weakness, severe
fatigue and dyspnea. It is important to note that diabetic patients and the elderly may have no pain,
thereby having a silent infarction (p.607). Another important group to take note of are women as they
often have atypical signs of a myocardial infarction and as such are often under noticed and
undiagnosed.

nursing was promoting patient adaptation. Johnson encouraged her to develop her concept of

The internal and external environment provide input or stimuli. The environment is always changing
and interacting with the person. The stimuli are divided into focal; contextual, and residual categories.
Focal stimuli immediately confronts the adaptive system. Contextual stimuli or background stimuli is

traits which may be relevant but effects are indeterminate and therefore cannot be validated. Nursing
According to Roy, the Nurse using the Nursing Process, promotes adaptation responses during health

Goals, mutually agreed on and prioritized, are proposed to meet the global goals of: survival/growth

They are thus in an objective rather than subjective category. In any case what feel is always more real
to us than what we know, and we feel the family relationship while we only know, and we feel the

If Willy is not totally unsympathetic (and he is not), much of the goodness in him is demonstrated in
his devotion to his wife, according to his lights. Though he is often masterful and curt, he is still
deeply concerned about her: I was fired, and I m looking for a little good news to tell your mother,

Linda, for all her warmth and goodness, goes along with her husband and sons in the best success
manual tradition. She tries to protect them from the forces outside and fails. The memory of her
suffering and her fidelity does not keep Willy and Happy from sex or Biff from wandering. Miller s
irony goes still deeper. While Linda is a mirror of goodness and the source of the family s sense of

American Government (Politics 113)
20 Nov 2014
The Legacy of John Marshall Few individuals have left as prominent a mark on the United States as
Chief Justice John Marshall. An ardent Federalist, he worked throughout most of his life to separate
the powers of national and state government, furthering the agenda of his party long after they
dissolved.
In Marbury v. Madison, he led the Court in striking down an act of Congress that was in conflict with
the Constitution, legitimizing the doctrine of judicial review. Over the course of his thirty four year
term, Marshall oversaw numerous landmark cases, his decisions in which played an undeniably
critical role in the early development of American law. Thanks to his firm hand and consistent
principles, he was able to secure the institutional power of the Supreme Court in the face of staunch
Jeffersonian opposition affirming its place as an equal among the Executive and Legislative branches
of government. The Supreme Court was established in 1789, with its powers stated in Article III of the
newly ratified United States Constitution. In the years leading up to the Marshall era, the Court was
little more than a shadow of its future self. It lacked both the prestige and authority of the latter 19th
century. John Jay and his successors, Rutledge and Ellsworth oversaw few cases, and ever fewer
significant ones. Often cited as an example of the early Court s inefficiency, their most

To Kill a Mockingbird is a book about the struggles and many issues that happened in the south when
racism was very big, and is seen through the eyes of a young girl. One of the issues Scout doesn t
understand is the idea of racism. The Ku Klux Klan was very popular during the time period that the
book takes place. Many events that took place in the book could have easily been influenced by the
Ku Klux Klan. It also explains the message they depicted against blacks. The Ku Klux Klan originated
in Pulaski, Tennessee. The goal of the KKK was to reestablish white supremacy throughout the
country. Anyone against blacks could easily be part of the Klan. The government tried to stop the
KKK in the early 1800´s, but failed. Its members waged an underground campaign of intimidation and
violence directed at white and black Republican leaders. After a period of decline, white Protestant
nativist groups revived the Klan in the early 20th century, burning crosses and staging rallies, parades
and marches denouncing immigrants, Catholics, Jews, blacks and organized labor. The KKK beat and
killed black political figures and politicians. They also beat and whipped thousands of blacks to keep

After the bloodshed among devotees of different faiths resided in South Asia, India, though

All India Muslim League led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah moved to Pakistan where the whole

Multicultural competency is the awareness and unification of people of diverse

where globalization has taken a center stage in every industry. Before globalization in the
business world, multicultural competency was rife during the colonization era. It could not have
been felt anywhere better than the United States of America when British decedents crossed the
sea to North America in their adventurous pursuits. They met the Red Indians, the natives who
were pushed to the mainland and later to the South of America. Whilst the British imposed their

Religion played a very important role in the Aztec and Inca culture. Religious rituals consisted of
human sacrifice and polytheism. Their deities were inspired by nature and the earth s physical

It is difficult for modern day society to understand how human sacrifice can exist in such advanced

They made two turns around them, and after finishing, the Inca summoned the provincial priests and

Attfield allows her feminism to flourish in a distinctive style of writing which not only engages the

Attfield discusses the current situation of discrimination and inequality in the design business that she

Characterization of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy in Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice
Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice, is an authentic character, allowing
readers to identify, sympathize, and grow with her. Unfortunately, Austen does not create a match for
Elizabeth who is her equal in terms of characterization. Mr. Darcy, Elizabeth s sometime adversary,
beloved, and, finally, husband, is not so carefully crafted as she, for his character is somewhat
undefined, made up of only mystery, inconsistency, and conventionality.
Elizabeth is, initially, quick to make judgments and just as quick to hold fast to those preconceptions.

The shadowy Darcy is at once a compelling presence in the novel (Auerbach 346), but a mysterious
one as well. Reaching nearly mythic proportions, his capabilities are far reaching, but ambiguous;
Elizabeth wonders at how much pleasure or pain it was in his power to bestow! How much of good or
evil must be done by him! (Austen 159).
Then there is the mystery of his pride. Is he? or isn t he? readers question. His pride is an issue from
the start: for he was discovered to be proud, to be above his company, and above being pleased . . . He
was the proudest most disagreeable man in the world (8). Yet as the novel comes to its conclusion,
Mrs. Reynolds states that though some people may call him proud, I have seen nothing of it (164),
Mrs. Gardiner writes, He has been accused of may faults at different times; but [obstinacy] is the true
one (207), and Elizabeth finally pronounces him as having no improper pride. He is perfectly amiable
(242). Yet Mr. Darcy himself acknowledges his pride and says, By [Elizabeth], I was properly
humbled (237). Therefore, either Mr. Darcy never really was the proud man everyone judged him to
be, or he was proud and then humbled. It is difficult to say which is the truth.
Other inconsistencies abound in the character of Mr. Darcy. At least one declaration of his strikes an
odd note. Quite out of character, he remarks, I have been used to consider

Western Imperialism
Beginning in 1880, there was a growing desire for European countries to expand and control their
rule. The only continent at that time that was left uncontrolled and, in the European s eyes uncivilized,
was Africa. This was the start of Western Imperialism. All European countries wanted their piece of
Africa and to get it, they would let nothing stand in their way. They would change the entire
government, religion, market, and behavior of most of the African nation and affect almost every
person living there. An account of the impact of Imperialism is given in Chinua Achebe s Things Fall

In Things Fall Apart there is a good example of this. The tribe of the main character Okonkwo has a
polytheistic religion that they have followed for as long as they can remember. When the Europeans
get there they build a church and the missionaries that came get many of the people to convert to
Christianity. Okonkwo is one of the few who sticks to the traditional view and keeps his original
religion. This changing of religion was a very important event that occurred in Africa but another
important result of Imperialism in Africa was a change in Government. When the Europeans got to
Africa they brought with them their governments and enforced them as if they were the new
governments of the Africans. Most African tribes had their own government system that they had
developed over time. When the Europeans settled in Africa they totally dismissed these government
and inflicted their own government on these people. In Things Fall Apart, the elders of the village
make the laws, which the people live by. They also have a ritual called the Egwugwu in which the
leaders of the village dress up as Gods and give laws and direction to the villagers. When the
Europeans get there they dismiss the laws the elders have made and live under their own government.

Respect for women s rights to reproduce self determination also requires governments to ensure that

government? These are the questions people ask every day. These are questions that potentially impact
us as people. People have asked What is the role of government? There has never been a definite
answer and there might never be one agreed upon answer.
What I Knew
Government. This has always been a subject that I have been very interested in. I remember when I
was a little kid in second grade and my Dad took me down to the voting booth let me go with him to
fill out his ballot. It was an experience that has stayed with me for a very long time. I remember being

role of government?
There are many different forms of government such as a dictatorship and democracy. These two

Effects of Games on Learning Disabilities
Having a learning disability should not stop students from learning or doing well in school. The
placement of special education can be beneficial to those who need extra help in school. Games can be
helpful for those in special education programs. By implementing games and new strategies of
learning, one could learn easier and more efficiently. For example, a particular case was with those
who have ADHD, in which the study was comparing the effects that training one s working memory
in children using regular techniques versus a game like approach. The study concluded that children
aged 9 to 12 who had ADHD appeared to show greater levels of motivation, better training
performance, and superior working memory in the post test compared to the pretest, before the game
started. (Prins, 2011). In fact, with the help of games such as chess, memory games, and brain games,
student learning can actually aid in minimizing symptoms of learning disabilities. In fact, chess could
be a valuable learning aid for children with learning disabilities due to the fact that chess instruction
facilities the transfer of cognitive skills from chess to mathematics (Bart 1). Not only those with
learning disabilities, but in general, those put in special education can benefit from games by learning
how games can have an impact on learning tactics and how one could cooperate efficiently. The goal

The beginning of political parties started in 1787 with the federalist, then later on the anti federalist in

the anti federalist; who called themselves the Democratic Republicans. Our first president, George
Washington warned us about having parties and the danger of them. However, not until Congress

clearly emerge ; the Federalist and the Anti Federalist. Today the most influential parties are the
Democrats and the Republicans. These parties win all of the presidential elections as of today.
Political parties formed because the United States was beginning to grow and expand. Many people

FIFA the largest soccer organization, is now being investigated by the Swedish, and Americans for
fraud, illegal ticket selling, and accepting bribes. FIFA started being questioned from certain events
that occurred throughout the years. In 2006 FIFA s Ethics Committee censured Warner after an audit
revealed he made at least $1 million illegally selling World Cup tickets. (Davis 1) They also
suspended Warner later for a rumor about him skimming deals . The world cup, the greatest event for
soccer, has bids between countries to see who can host it. In order to host it the country must show
they are economically stable, and win the votes. The 2018 World Cup and 2022 World cup are being
hosted by Russia and Qatar. People speculate that Qatar won the votes by bribing the ... Show more

Cause and effect is the action during an event that results in a reaction that affects others that are
involved. In order to find a solution for the results of a problem depends on what the situation is. In
the FIFA scandal you can solve the problem by having Sepp Blatter resign, or have him telling the
truth. The federal agents can arrest Sepp Blatter and FIFA will have to change how they run the
organization to make sure they change their policies. A single cause can be responsible for a single
effect. An example is throwing a rock into the river and a ripple effect is created. Throwing the rock is
the cause while the ripple effect is the effect of throwing the rock into the river. Responsibility is
taking charge and making sure everything is in check, while Blame is putting the liability on someone
when something does not go to plan. To arrive at a solution, one needs to find the core of the problem
and they need to group up and have a meeting on how they can fix the

41. Persuasive Speech On Organ Donation
Everyday, 79 people receive a transplant, but at least 20 people die waiting, because of the shortage of
donated organs. (Brazier) Due to the shortage of organs, this causes many people to go to extreme
measures to save a loved one. Maybe even to the point of doing something illegal. The more we help
promote and contribute to organ donation, the more lives we can save. There is a new name added to
the list every 10 minutes while around 20 people die a day waiting for an organ.
Organ donation is the process of surgically removing an organ or tissue from one person (the organ
donor) and placing it into another person (the recipient). Transplantation is necessary because the
recipient s organ has failed or has been damaged by disease ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In some cases, people are murdered for their organs. When their body is found, there are organs
removed. Even though the community is willing to donate their organ, there are too few donors in the
position to give. There are many factors to consider when matching people for organ transplants.
Blood type, tissue type, urgency, time spent on the waiting list, and distance between the donor and
recipient are some factors to whom the organ goes to. A majority of donors have died from an
automobile accident, stroke, gunshot wound, or suicide. All of these result in the donor being brain
dead. Being brain dead is when the patient s brain has no signs of life while a machine keeps the body
alive for organ donation. On the other hand, one does not have to be dead to be a donor, of course.
There is living donating, where one can donate an organ or tissue while they re still alive. People of all
ages should consider themselves potential donors. (Organ Donation and Transplantation). About four
out of every ten donations each year are from living donations. The strongest supporters of organ
donation tend to be women, under 65 years old and people with higher levels of education (Brazier).
Some people don t consider transplants due to financial reasons. For example, a heart transplant
ranges from $57,000 $110,000. Another reason is the risk of infection or rejection during or after a
transplant. If this happens, it could

43. Herniated Disk Research Paper
Introduction/Overview When somebody gets back pain they don t think much about it, maybe it s just
a sore muscle or I just threw my back out. That s what we all think but there could be something much
bigger, like a herniated disk or bulging disk. When I didn t do any research on a herniated and bulging
disk I thought they were the same things. I learned fast that they aren t close to the same thing, yes
they have a few things in common. The extremes of a herniated disk can result in surgery, which leads
to removing the inflamed nerve or as simple as ice/heat and therapy. A bulging disk isn t really all that
painful but it can turn into a herniated disk if conditions get bad enough. Basically for a bulging disk

Your spine is made up of 24 vertebrae, seven cervical, twelve thoracic and five lumbar. Cervical is the
neck region, the thoracic region is the upper back and the thoracic is in the lower back, added onto the

cord. The spine gives stability, gives moment in all direction and still returns back to normal shape,
gives a place for attachment for flexible bands and elastic cords, is a shock absorber. An exaggerated
curve in the thoracic region is referred to as kyphosis, and one in the lumbar region to as a kyphosis,
and one in the lumbar region is referred to as a lordosis. Kyphosis curves have a backward convexity.
Lordotic curves have a forward convex curve. A lateral deviation of the spine is called scoliosis.1

44. Marginalization Of Mental Health Essay
Service users have reported to construe a sense of labelling and marginalisation by health care
professionals, suggesting inequality in the level of care received once the illness becomes apparent to
the professional. This inequality is further apparent as many professionals use the Mental Capacity Act
1983 to section people with Schizophrenia. For example: (Chaplin (2000 see Coppock Dunn, 2009)
argued that psychiatric practice and mental health services maintain the stigma of mental distress this
is well documented in western culture. (Fernando, 2010) noted the visible presence of medical, social
work and police services in compulsory Mental Health Act assessments and the over diagnosis of
medications prescribed by psychiatrists; all having a negative impact on services users. McKenzie,
2001) have argued that within the mental health services psychiatric have reinforce their power to
diagnose and assessed these groups due to perception from the media. As a result of this medical
model been dominant within the NHS which meant that more emphases is placed on focus on
medicalization which can result in distress.

services. In particularly Black and minority ethnic groups ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

45. The Rocket Man Literary Devices
In the short story, The Rocket Man, an adaptation of, The Illustrated Man, the author Ray Bradbury
describes the life of an astronaut who is torn between living an ordinary life with his family and
traveling through space on a rocketship. The story, written in 1951, is based around how the father s
space travel affects his son, Doug, and the father s relationship with his wife. The Rocket Man, was
written during the modern period of literature, a time when science fiction and new technology was up
and coming. During the 1950 s, the United States was at the beginning of its space program, and space
travel was quickly becoming a reality. The Rocket Man was influenced by its time period, and the
story describes a futuristic place where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sleep good Doug? he said, as if he has been here all the time, and hadn t been gone for three months
(2). The author writing through Doug in the first person allows him to give more detail and clarity to
the situation as well as highlight how Doug views his father as a man who leaves his family for a long
period of time, yet returns as if he never left. Doug s view of his father after his return sheds light on
the recurring notion of a poorly functioning family, a key theme within the reading. Furthermore, the
author inserts dialogue within Doug s story of events to add more credibility to Doug s version of
events. Dialogue is added when Doug speaks with his father while on vacation, Doug .... I want you to
promise me something. What? Don t ever be a Rocket Man. .... I mean it (7). Doug s conversation
with his father is an example of how Bradbury tells the story through Doug, just another way the
author is able to exemplify the father s unhappiness and dysfunctional family while keeping a
consistent and eventful storyline. Second, Bradbury integrates conflict and irony into the story to
demonstrate the recurring unhappiness from the characters. One major form of conflict is within Doug
s father, as he speaks with Doug about his internal struggle, Don t ever be a Rocket Man. I stopped. I

to be out there (7). The

46. Network Coverage Based On Cell Size Essay
Heterogeneous Network The operators are using better modulation schemes [1], better coding rate,
multi antenna technique for increased throughput and efficiency. But this alone will not suffice as the
resources are limited and there are near far problems associated with a macro cell. One alternative to
increasing the throughput and quality of service is through cell split. To increase the capacity of a cell,
a large cell is divided into smaller cells with each cell having its own serving base station and serving
an area much less than that of a macro cell. A cell can split into micro, Pico and Femto cells. A micro
cell serves an area of less than 2kms with the base station having a transmit power range of 5 watts.
With further reduction in the transmit power, a cell known as Pico cell can serve an area of 100 meters
or less and is mostly used to provide coverage in buildings. A Femto cell with transmission power of
less than 200 Mw provides the least amount of coverage. Fig. 1 Network coverage based on cell size
Thus while Macro cell can provide a wider coverage, in high density areas small cells can be used for
data offloading, both indoors and outdoors. This architecture shown in Fig. 1 results in Heterogeneous
Network. Thus Het nets have been introduced in the LTE Advanced to provide increased throughput
and capacity [5]. But there are some implementation issues associated with Het Nets 1.2 Het Net

So Jon Taffer, the guy who does the show Bar Rescue, wrote an extremely insightful book into what
he thinks makes a successful bar and it s titled Raising the Bar I picked it up a couple years ago but I
decided to read it again and the very first chapter is titled You Sell One Thing: Reactions So in this
chapter, Jon goes on and talkes a lot about how the number one thing that business owners fail to
realize is that it s not enough to just have a business that s running, rather you need to have a business
that leaves a good and positive impression on people to truly succeed. Here s a paragraph from it that I
really enjoy: Think about this: Two people get dressed in the morning. One person throws on whatever
clothes are available; the other takes the time to select an outfit and make sure it s clean, pressed, and
put together. WHo makes the better impression? The carefully dressed person is thought of as calmer,
more powerful, smarter, and more thoughtful than the sloppy one. In an experiment to test perceptions
and appearance, teaching assistants who wore formal clothes were perceived as more intelligent than
those who dressed more casually. A Harvard study found that women who wore makeup were
considered more competent and likable than their barefaced counterparts. ... Show more content on

48. Speech About The Aztec Empire
Even though the Aztec Empire is well known, I would not recommend you to move here. The citizens
themselves do take a lot of pride in being Aztecs, but only if you grew up in this civilization would
you feel comfortable with all of the traditions and rituals performed. The Aztec s are known for the
sacrificing of thousands of humans and some may think this is a great ritual, but for someone wanting
to go to a new civilization, this one may be a little too hard core. Not only this, but the way the Aztec
government ruled, was be inflicting fear into their people. The Aztec government is also power

the point where everyone focuses on securing the future without enjoying the present. The people are

anyone. If I were you, I would stay clear of the Aztec empire and look elsewhere to create a new

writer Catherine, also described the unique animal as having a monstrous head and being spiny , with
scales . Furthermore, Catherine wrestles with the animal identity. Keeping us from knowing what the
animal actually is, but she described it well enough to capture an image of it in your mind. To me I
believe she did it on purpose to keep the audience, the reader s attention; ending the poem as if they re

In the poem Dear Day Catherine used many different types of metaphors. One was to describe how

The ability of the citizens of a country to become entrepreneurs and stimulate the economy by starting

negative effect on an economy and one that is currently hurting Italy s economy is the mafia. An
indirect side effect of the mafia s impact on the Gross domestic Profit is the government s ability to
aid small business growth. Thus, the government must spend more money to help businesses to

First of all, there are different types of Italian mafias, depending upon which region that they are
located in and the market that they are exploiting. Italian organized crime is known all over the world,
to the point that the term Mafia is now understood across the globe as referring to the organized
criminal underworld. Literature on the subject is abundant, ranging from history, sociology and
criminology to fiction and plain entertainment. The distinctive character, looks, habits, idiosyncrasies
and jargon of the Mafiosi have been described, analyzed, explained and imitated. Apparently,
everybody is familiar with Italian organized crime (Europol 4). The top three mafia organizations
operating in Italy are Cosa Nostra, La Camorra and the Ndrangheta. Cosa Nostra is located on the
island of Sicily as the Mafiosi s main activity consists of their forced protection and they have strong
ties to Sicily s government. La Camorra is located in the region of Campania, but more specifically in
the capital: Napoli. La Camorra s main focus is controlling the food and coffee markets, black market,
as well as some drug trafficking. The Camorra clan, in turn, acquired from this relationship (1)
considerable economic resources from the firms (2) the consequent systematic control of economic
activity in the territorial area, the possibility of furnishing jobs and a marginal quota of the firm s
income, and hence widespread social consensus and even open legitimacy; (3) finally, through the
politicians, they secured the necessary institutional cover, in particular with the police and with
possible intervention in eventual judicial proceedings. This original relationship between the Camorra
and illegal non organized activities has not fundamentally changed over time, but has become stronger
and deeper as a result of two factors. (1) The omertà of its victims who do not denounce extortion for
fear of reprisal, but also not to bring

51. Analysis Of Delirium
Delirium poses many risks to the elderly population. This condition has been associated with
increased mortality, long term cognitive decline, and loss of autonomy (Kukreja, Gunher, Popp, 2015,
p. 655). The course of delirium is acute, and without accurate differentiation and intervention,
outcomes can be deleterious (Resmick, 2016). This research question will focus on exploring the care
team s knowledge about delirium prevention and assessment and its contribution to outcomes. The

According to Resnick (2016), there are recommendations of care that are supported by the National
Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE). However, these guidelines are not enough. As a
result, it becomes imperative to understand how to recognize delirium and develop a culture of care
that consistently implements processes that prevent its occurrence. While the awareness and
understanding of its impact can influence its recognition, a broader system wide approach needs to
become integrated into the daily practice of geriatric patients to sustain consistent outcomes and
improvements in care. The treatment options should be prefaced with knowledge sharing and
education surrounding the topic of delirium with the care team. Education will need to include
assessment, prevention, and management (Trogrlic et al., 2015, p. 15). Assessment components will
need to include an evidence based tool that is appropriate for the population and applies to patients
with and without cognitive impairments (Voyer et al., 2015). Preventive processes need to be taught,
understood, and operationalized. This would include identification of reversible causes and risk
factors, optimization of medications and elimination of inappropriate medications, integration of
family, and team collaboration (Resnick, 2016). Management options will need to include treatment of
electrolyte abnormalities, visual screening and correction for an identified impairments, ear aids,
