Analysis Of Sandy Hess s Basic Computer System
Sandy Hess has four basic computer needs for her new computer; bookkeeping, invoicing, listening
to music, and instead of paying for cable she would rather view content online. Her new system
must also be portable and inexpensive. Wanting to purchase the best computer system for her needs,
she has requested a recommendation before making her purchase.
In order to accomplish the tasks Sandy wishes to perform on her new system it is recommended
that she use Windows 8 due to the new features it offers over Windows 7. The first new feature
Sandy is shown is when she logs in to Windows 8. The first screen she sees is the new Start
Screen . Instead of Icons, the new Start screen has Tiles to open Apps. The default home screen for

The first is the traditional desktop based application, where the app runs the same as Windows 7.
The second option, however, is completely different from what Windows 7 and other versions
have offered in the past and is known as Modern. Modern apps appear as tiles on the Start Screen
of Windows 8, and an individual has to only click or tap one of the tiles in order to launch the
service. The Windows 8 Metro applications are designed to run much like mobile apps that a user
might find on their Smartphone. These applications are essentially designed to access small
amounts of data and stay away from file information that is not important to the application. On the
other hand, a traditional desktop application is larger, is able to work with more information and
can receive approval from the admin of the device to access information from other outside sources.
Sandy is also shown some peripherals she may hook up to her computer to fulfill her computing
needs. Since she needs her computer to be portable such as a laptop, she will not need to buy a
keyboard, mouse, or monitor. However, in order to perform printing needs, Sandy will need a
printer. A printer is used to print documents, photos, and anything else that appears on screen.
There are many types of printers available, including inkjet, laser, and photo printers. Sandy can
also buy an all in one printer, scanner, and copier. An option for Sandy to purchase at a later date

The Negative Impacts Of The Creation Myth On The Earth
Damiana Schell

World Mythology
Nicholas Morris
Man was created to keep the earth but we have failed at that, we have not listened to the Genesis
myth about being the caretakers, we have destroyed and pillaged the land. The creation myth was
supposed to keep the earth pure but we justified it as a way to do what we want with it(Earth) and
therefor have had a negative effect on the earth due to the genesis creation myth.
Positive:
The Genesis myth made man and woman more curious, God put a mysterious tree straight in front
of man and we took it in our palms to try and understand what it was. After Eve bit into the apple
we had ultimate truth and we wanted more knowledge, thus began man s inexhaustible search for
knowledge.Without the Genesis myth man would never have considered knowledge as a powerful
thing, but since God did not want to share the apple man began to crave it and eventually took part
of it. Without genesis we would have stayed behind the line, not touched the tree, and would have
stayed blind.
Power, the apple gave us power, after eve bit into the apple we became self aware and thus had
power over ourselves as well as our surroundings. And just like knowledge we yearned for power,
some came in information, some in goods, and others in people s lives; such as human contact and
families. We wanted to have it all and with ought the Genesis myth we would not have been given
that power, the power to realize we are our own.
Negative:

Comparing Marie Clements s The Unnatural And Accidental Women
Between 1965 and 1988 Gilbert Paul Jordan was linked to the murders of ten women of aboriginal
dissent. Marie Clements play The Unnatural and Accidental Women puts a fictional account to the
realistic murders of the aboriginal women in Vancouver. During the original murders the large
misunderstanding and misinterpretation around aboriginal culture caused the murders of the
women to be ignored, the women themselves to be viewed as invisible, or the murders to be
deemed not important or accidental . In her play Clements recreates the original murders of the
boozing barber , Gilbert Paul Jordan, however in the play she creates an identity for the murdered
women that was not shown by the media, police or culture in Vancouver at the time of the original
murders. The original murders of the boozing barber were completed by... Show more content on

One of the most important aspects that Sharon Sullivan highlights in her article about the play is
how its surrealism allows for the focus to be on the women, and not the killings. Clements
decentres the act of murder by focusing on the experiences and actions of the women before and
after death, emphasizing their individuality and the possibility of redemption. (Sullivan, 68) The
film, however, nullifies any attempt by the play to humanize these women, for it cuts out the witty
dialogues between the women, portraying them only as they are represented in the media, as
alcoholics, prostitutes, and victims. The movie places the murder and Rebecca, Aunt Shadie s
Daughter, at the center of the plot line and completely erases the side stories of the murdered
aboriginal women. While the screenplay is also written by Marie Clements, it dehumanizes the
women by stripping them of their identity and turning their stories back into a classic Hollywood
horror

Television Impact On Australia
The first television that introduced to Australia was in 1956, and it was the primary source of
entertainment. The television had a major impact on the lifestyles of Australians. After using the
television, all Australians spent more time staying at home and entertain themselves rather than
going out to the cinema or other venues. Televisions effects were not only of activity associated
with interests, but in terms also of the intensity or strength of the viewer s feeling of interest in
different things. The television was one of the most popular products that helped make professional
and college sports big businesses. However, it provided comedy and dramatic shows to a vast
audience that might not otherwise have had access to them. Television

The Democratic Alliance and the Future of South Africa
Good morning. As a representative and leader in the Democratic Alliance, I have come here
today to explain to you why the DA sees a brighter and more opportune future for South Africa.
However, we need your support in order to change our country into a nation of hope and for our
dream of everyone to live in peace and prosperity to become a reality.
To understand our manifesto and views, one needs to understand that the DA does not place people
in a position of power according to their race, name or wealth, but rather their talents and efforts.
This country cannot move forward without change, and as it stands the unemployment rates and
the ever increasing problems are being put aside by the current government for personal ventures
such as Nkandla that is surrounded by houses without running water. But dwelling on the negatives
and current failures is not our objective. I am here to vie and let you decide that we are working
towards a brighter future.
it is understandable that people are worried that if they do not vote for the current government that
the circumstances of apartheid and a dark past will reappear, but it can be assured that the DA are
working towards changing the past and aim for a country that has equal opportunities for all. Our
work is evident in the Western Capewhere we govern and 76% of the provincial governments
budget is spent on poor communities. The Western Capes unemployment rate is the lowest in the
country, 12% lower than anywhere else in South

Nike Economic Recession
In my opinion, if the sales volume were starting to suffer due to an economic recession, it would
be absolutely necessary to change the corporate strategy. This is particularly true if the recession
may have long term effects. One of the primary areas a recession affects in terms of products is
the price. The current corporate strategy adopted by Nike is clearly geared towards the higher end
of the market, and such a strategy may not be sustainable if consumers are searching for value in a
market recession. Therefore, a change in corporate strategy would involve cost cutting, either from
sponsorships or by reducing stores overheads. A change in the market, as significant as a recession,
requires a new strategy for organizations in ensuring

A Study of the Healing Process from Slavery and Racism Essay
A battle lost or won is easily described, understood, and appreciated, but the moral growth of a
great nation requires reflection, as well as observation, to appreciate it. Frederick Douglass
When you think of slavery, you may want to consider the effects of an earthquake because that s
how powerful it was. Like many earthquakes, slavery produced various damaging ramifications
to everything around it. This included devastation to family structures and in worst cases the
loss of human life; and without doubt slavery claimed the lives of many just as Harriet Jacobs
expressed I once saw a slave girl dying after the birth of a child nearly white. In her agony she cried
out, O Lord, come and take me! Her mistress stood by, and mocked at... Show more content on

According to Frederick Douglass, it was the blood stained gate, the entrance to the hell of
slavery, through which I was about to pass. It was a most terrible spectacle. I wish I could
commit to paper the feelings with which I beheld it (p.4). Frederick Douglass and Toni Morrison
literatures examine the stigma of slavery, and the perceptions of its dangers. They illustrate what
life was like and the mental as well social impact it had on enslaved African Americans and their
life after gaining freedom. Richard Wright convinces his audience in Black Boy that he was tired of
the limitations and outcries in the South I was not leaving the South to forget the South, but so that
some day I might understand it, might come to know what its rigors had done to me, its children
(284). Alice Walker obtains her readers attention by transforming young women into their own
characters with a voice using spiritual guidance. In Native Son, Bigger has achieved is lost after
being apprehended and brought into captivity, as he transitions back into silence and passivity and
begins to recover only in his final confrontation, whereas Douglass in the same prevailing
convention, only heals after the regaining of his freedom. Through these literatures, and many
others, African Americans find multiple ways to alleviate and recover from the intensity of
undesired bondage and bigotry. In essence, Douglass born into

Henry II And The 19th Century
Times started to transform in the 12th and 13th century with how the government ran in
England. Henry II was King at this time and had developed a government system where he had
professionals work for him. These professionals had schooling and got paid salary by the King.
The government was very institutionalized with royal officials administering both revenues and
law. The king did not have to be present much, in place, he had his officials do administrative
work and record keeping. The king traveled all throughout the European continent because he
was able to, while his working officials did his work in place. Henry II extended and
strengthened the institutions of the English government. He became king during a horrible civil
war between two royal claimants. The chaos had benefited the English barons and high
churchmen, who gained new privileges and powers as the monarchs authority waned (355). Henry
II s father Henry had built new castles and when Henry II took throne he confiscated the castles
and regained the crown land. He then extended monarchical power by imposing royal justice. He
built it on an already well developed legal system. The Anglo Saxon kings had royal district courts:
the king appointed sheriffs to police the shires, muster military levies, and haul criminals into
court...to these established institutions, Henry II add a system of judicial visitations called eyres
(357). With proceeding this system, royal officials went all around Englandto judge

The Glass Castle Symbolism
People read books for many various reasons, like being relatable or fascinating. The Glass Castle
by Jeanette Walls is a book that many would enjoy because it is well written and interesting story. It
has many good qualities such as; constant symbols and hidden meanings throughout the story,
beautifully written and composed, and the real life issues that the story takes its viewers through.
The Glass Castleis a very enjoyable and insightful read that I would definitely recommend for
someone to read. Throughout the entire book the reader is constantly confronted with hidden
meaning and symbols that add depth to the story. One of the major symbols is the glass castle
itself, and how it represents the unrealistic and unstable life of the Walls

Gongche Paper
In most cultures, there are many ways to write and express music. Here in America, there are chant
notations, staff notations, solfege, and many more. China has another form of notation called
Gongche. Gongche is written in traditional Chinese characters that represent the note or part of
solfege that should be played. However, recently there are forms of writing musiccalled Jianpu,
which are numbered notations that represent the note that needs to be played. Jianpu is a simplified
version of Gongche, however, instead of using Chinese characters, numbers are used to represent a
solfege. In standard American staff notation, there are different notes that are placed on a series of
five lines that represent different notes. At the beginning of the line, there are symbols that show...

In gongche, every character represents a note, which makes up their solfege. To tell how much
strength each note should be played for, there are accents placed on top of the characters, and a
tiny open circle placed under them. The accent on top of the note means that it is weaker than a
normal note, and the open circle means that it is stronger. This is done to assist with the rhythm of
the overall piece. These marks are made for the percussion, instructing them to take the rhythmic
lead. In the simplified, Jianpu notation, the numbers represent the notes position on the solfege.
The scales that are represented here are major and minor. When the dot is placed on top of a
number, it means it should be raised to the higher octave, and underneath means a lower one. In this
system, the length of the note played is shown to the musician by dashes placed underneath the
number. This indicates an equivalent of half and quarter notes. There are also zeroes that can be
found on the musical piece, this means that there is a rest. Similarly to staff notation, the meter is
established by the vertical line after a certain number of

What Plato Meant by the Form of the Good Essay
What Plato Meant by the Form of the Good The basis of Plato s philosophy is his theory of
Ideas, or doctrine of Forms while the notion of Forms is essential to Plato s philosophy, over years
of philosophical study, it has been difficult to understand what these Forms are supposed to be, and
the purpose of their existence. When examining Plato s forms and evaluating the theory, some
conclusions have proved to be unclear and unanswered. However, the doctrine of Forms is essential
to Plato s philosophy. Plato came to his view of the Forms based on two premises: first that
knowledge cannot come through the senses; and second, we do nevertheless manage to know
things in mathematics, for instance.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The slaves know nothing of reality except the one of which they are presented as the Sun, which
represents the Form of the Good is outside the cave but the slaves have no idea of its existence.
One day a prisoner is released from his shackles and goes up to the upper part of the cave and
sees the fire and the objects, which are casting the shadows, and he also sees the sun and is
blinded by this higher form of reality. Plato believed that the way to find or realise true reality is
not through gathering empirical evidence or through deep scientific tests such as studying the
shadows to determine what they are. But rather that in order to break the chains we can only do so
through inner contemplation or philosophical investigation in order to ascend out of the cave and
see the sun which gives light to all the forms. For every sense object in the empirical world, there is
a corresponding perfect Form. These Forms are non physical, permanent, eternal, and invisible.
How then, you may ask, can one ever know of the Forms if they cannot be known by sense
perception? Plato answers this question by stating that the Forms are known in thought. They are
the objects of thought, therefore, whenever you are thinking, you are thinking of Forms. An
important point to note about the Forms is the idea of permanence as the Forms are forever
unchanging. An

Cell phones popularity has grown exponentially in the last few years. Almost every college
student has a cell phone or smartphone. They are seen all over the world and in every building.
Cell phone use while driving has increased exponentially in young adults over the past few years,
many reasons such as dependency and addiction can lead to this but there are also ways to try to
limit cell phone use by different sensors or helpful tips. Cell phone use has grown in popularity
in college students and young adults all over the world, because of this, cell phones are being
used more and more while driving. More and more college students and young adults are getting
smartphones and other cellphones, A recent Australian survey found that 75% of mobile phone
users now have smartphones; this figure more than doubled between 2011 and 2014 and is
expected to reach 91% by 2017 [6]. There are cell phones in every store or building whether they
are a customer s phone or an employee phone. In the research conducted 99.8% of the
participants owned a cell phone and 82.1% of them had their drivers licenses [1]. The large
quantities of cell phones are causing large distractions in young driver s lives. College students all
over the world are being distracted by their cell phone while they drive, Half of the participants

The Smarter Generation Is Not The Dumbest Generation
The dumbest generation is not the Millennials. Indeed this generation is smarter than previous
generations because of better technology, and better learning of new vocabulary on everything
that we watch and play as on video games, TV shows, we are always learning new stuff every
time. New generation s also have proof that we are more intelligent in test that people have taken
to compare older IQ levels and newer generations IQ levels. There can be some proof that this
generation is getting lazier and learningis lacking and we always depend more on our phone, but in
my opinion we are still the smartest generation yet. Is this generation the dumbest yet to come?
No. people do not think the Millennials are the dumbest generation in fact, this generation is
thought to be smarter than previous generations. Millennials have so many things that this
generation has improved that has also made millennials smarter, everything they do makes them
smarter each time just like playing video games which you always remember on how to pass a
mission, which you remember that last time you died when you made a wrong move so
obviously next time you won t go through that spot or you won t do the same act that got you
killed in your other game life. Newer generations also have proof to tell the older generations that
they are smarter because of proof that we have betterIQ levels than the older generation, yes older
generations can say that this new generation may be dumber, but they just have opinions not
facts at all, but us, we have facts that we are smarter. IQ score have been on the rise since 1930s
(B, Begley). With this evidence it is more valuable than any of Bauerlein s claims because they are
just his opinions against actual evidence that has been tested by scientist to actually approve that
we are getting smarter. Also video games have helped us a lot in improving our skills and better
competitivity to learn/win.
Did video games ever sound so learnful to parents? You may guess not, but actually video games
help us on our learning of everyday. Video games do not look like a learning factor for some
people, but actually video games have helped lots of kids learn new vocabulary words that are

Albinism Research Paper
Imagine having little or no pigment in your eyes, skin, and hair. You re constantly putting on
sunscreen and covering up your skin because you are worried you will develop skin cancer down
the road. No matter what doctors can do, you will never have 20/20 vision. This is what it is like
if you have Albinism. Albinism is a genetic disorder children can inherit from their parents. First
of all, people with Albinism have little or no pigment in their hair, eyes, and skin. With no
pigment comes lack of color eyes, skin, and hair so they have light skin and hair. Albinism is a
recessive trait so both parents have to give the child the Albinism gene. Secondly, Albinism is
caused when a child inherits one defective gene, which is responsible for producing Melanin, from
each parent. Melanin is responsible for absorbing ultraviolet rays so the skin isn t damaged. Thirdly,
Albinism has many negative symptoms. People with Albinism don t tan when exposed to sun and
easily get sunburns. They have a greater risk for skin cancer than people without Albinism. The
retina doesn t develop correctly when the Melanin pigment isn t present. People with... Show more

cure for Albinism. Doctors can prescribe glasses to help vision problems but they can t give a

Characteristics Of The Leopard
The Leopard
Long ago, the leopard and the Ethiopian, his white hunting companion, lived in a place called the
High Veldt. The two dominated this vast grassland, and they were able to hunt and catch any
animal they wished. Their favorite meals consisted of the plain sandy yellow brown coated giraffe
and zebra. One sunny day, the giraffe and zebra were hiding from the leopard and Ethiopian within
the shadows of the trees. Mysteriously, jagged shadow shapes appeared on the fur of the giraffe
and the zebra. The prey became permanently striped and spotted and were so well camouflaged
that the leopard and Ethiopian were now incapable of finding lunch. The two hunters knew they
needed to up their game, so the Ethiopian turned his skin black. The leopard asked his companion
to give him spots so he could blend in, too. The Ethiopian pressed his five fingertips all over the
leopard s plain coat; both of them were now camouflaged just like the giraffe and zebra.
This retelling of Rudyard Kipling s How the Leopard Got His Spots is a fanciful fable which
portrays the cunning nature of the leopard. Besides its stealthiness and competitiveness, this
spotted wonder possesses several other traits which display God s originality in creating it. In order
to understand the significance of the leopard, one must understand its physical characteristics and
behavior, unique habitat and hunting strategies, and extreme threats to its existence.

He is helping her rehearse her lines and he shows her what they are wanting and she responds you

Julie he immediately seems to fall in love at first sight.
The main film style in Tootsie is seeing TV on TV. Since much of the film setting is the recording
of the soap opera it is shot sometimes where the audience is seeing what is going on through a
screen on TV or its shot as though you are watching the soap opera as the soap opera and not as
part of the movie.
Compared to later films with men dressing as women for some purpose or another Tootsie set the
trend. Like Mrs. Doubtfire a man dresses as a woman for a reason. This creates humor as well as
sympathy in some ways that the man must go that far to achieve what he is after.
I found the Tootsie to be a very entertaining film. Besides the fact that it was funny to see what he
had to go through to appear as a woman but as the woman she was very outspoken. On the show
he took everyone by surprise because it was a soft spoken older woman speaking her mind that
stood up to everyone.
I think this film was great because first of all it was genuinely funny. Second, the film takes a man
that discovers that being a woman has made him a better man. Finally

The Effects Of Oceans On The Climate System
Oceans are huge components of the climate system. The big cause for most climate change on
Earth is the atmosphere and the oceans are an essential factor. Even though they do not respond to
the climate changes they do have a role in the climate system. Earth is a big planet with at least 71
percent covered with water and 96.5 percent is located in the Earths oceans. There is an extreme
interaction between the atmosphere, ocean and ice. In the past, ocean circulation has strongly
impacted the climatesway of ice ages and oscillations of the circulations could have been the
subsequent cause of some climate variations.
Oceans absorb most of the sun s radiation compared to the atmosphere and land surface.
Movement of the heat through local and global ocean currents affect the regulation of weather and
temperature conditions. Understanding the essentials of the ocean s circulation has advanced
during the past decades and scientist are able to model and find new data on past climates.
Oceans move an extensive amount of heat across the planet in the same amount as the
atmosphere. The difference is the oceans are confined by land masses so its heat is channeled into
specific regions. Ocean currents are located at the surface and 300 meters deep below the water.
Currents are powered by wind, tides, the Earth s circulations, the sun (solar energy) and water
density. These characteristics affect the shape, size, directions and speed of ocean currents.

Materials and Methods/Experimental: The materials used for this experiment was an
Erlenmeyer flask and a vacuum filtration. To start off, in an Erlenmeyer flask approximately 0.51
g of E stilbene with 10 mL of acetic acid was dissolved. A hot water bath was prepared and the
mixture was warmed until the solid is completely dissolved. After the solution was dissolved,
1.02 gram of pyridinium hydromide perbromide was added. The crystals around the flask were
rinsed with a small amount of acetic acid and the solution was continued in the hot water bath
for one to two minutes. The stilbene dibromide precipitated immediately as small plates. The
mixture was cooled under tap water helping crystals form. The mixture was cooled before
collecting the product by a vacuum filtration. For the crystals not to stick in the flask, the
solution was washed with small amounts of ice cold methanol. When done pouring, the isolated
solid dried for a few minutes in the filtration. To increase drying time, the crystals were pressed
down. When the solid was collected, data such as melting point, percent yield and infrared
spectroscopy spectrum values were collected. Results and Discussion: When all the data was
collected, the solid was weighed and in total the watch glass with the solid weighed 16.52 grams.
When the weight of the watch glass was subtracted, 0.77g of the solid stilbene bromide is left. In
order to calculate the percent yield, the theoretical yield is taken.

Comparing Emily Bronte s And Frankenstein
What does it mean when one describes a noble beast , and to what extent must a damaged
character wreak havoc for their actions to be deemed monstrous? How do we define a monster?
These questions are posed to readers of Frankenstein and Wuthering Heights, two novels tied by
threads of revenge and discrimination. Both stories are about created monsters and how they have
been wronged by those around them. Those monsters proceed to seek vengeance on the people who
have harmed them. Several parallels can be drawn between Heathcliffand Frankensteins monster,
although the circumstances and results of their warping differ, and these comparisons help one
determine whether their actions are justified or are impossible to redeem. Both characters have
been victims of abuse that they did not deserve. Frankenstein created a grotesque creature who was
still biologically human. His horrendous appearance got him maltreatment from those around him,
including getting scolded by his own creator for existing, a feat that Victor himself committed.
Heathcliff was also subject to discrimination, due to low social status and even racism from his

Why Do People Use Drones
War has been a part of life for centuries, from the days of sword and shield to advanced rifles with
high fire rates. Conflict is a part of human life and it is inevitable no matter the preparation.
Mankind has always sought to improve their means of fighting in hopes to preserve peace with the
newest weapon unveiled being the drone. When waroutbreaks, drones are used to great extent, they
are efficient and coordinated, calculated and powerful, however, drones are costly and at times
cause innocents to die. The usage of drones, however, is heavily debated.
The main cost of warfare is human life with few people hope to see their neighbors dying on the
front lines of a grueling and brutal conflict. The death of a drone is much more acceptable ... Show

In a span of hours, a Reaper can wipe out a terrorist alcove, and as described by Jeff Davis, a
pentagon spokesman, A senior leader of the group, Noureddine Chouchane, and 48 other Islamic
State fighters were killed (Thomas 3). A precise drone strike can wipe out dozens of hostiles, and
prevent the need for land based forces to enter the conflict and endanger themselves. The drones
also save on the manpower and strategic planning needed to coordinate a ground assault, getting
the job done quickly. Drones also add a new dimension of tactics to battles, involving much safer
air vehicles to perform bombing runs. On the other hand, drones aren t free, and are far from it.
Infantry in the modern day have a cost of roughly $17,500 per soldier (WSJ 5), a drone is much
more expensive than a single soldier. According to Joakim on Aeroweb, a Gray Eagle is roughly
$4.45 billion to purchase, and a Reaper has an average cost of $12.23 billion (Joakim 1).
Hundreds of soldiers can be outfitted and sent out compared to a single aerial drone. Humans are
also more capable of handling themselves in an armed conflict, able to think on their feet and plan
accordingly, while a drone cannot. It is utterly more cost efficient to raise an army than a

The Piracy Of Music Piracy
AC8 The Abomination of Music Piracy A new type of theft has had a spike in the recent years,
in which the internet has become extremely prominent at this time. This new theft is called
online piracy This theft occurs when an online user uses a P2P(Peer to peer) website for file
sharing, and shares files such as songs or software. This is considered theft due the fact that the
files aren t free, they have a price to them. Music Piracy is an abomination to artistry, and the
creation of Art. It must be abolished. According to the Musicmetric Digital Music Index;in 2012,

Racial Inequality In The NFL
For many, speaking up for what you believe in can be difficult and risky, but ultimately worth the
risk. Colin Kaepernick took this risk, by kneeling during the national anthem to stand up against
police brutality and the inequality that people of color (NFL). With many unjust shootings and
police beatings of African Americans, Kaepernick s teammate Eric Reid couldn t stand the
violence anymore after the killing of Alton Sterling in my hometown Baton Rouge, La (Reid).
Reid joined Kaepernick in taking a knee during the national anthem, in doing this Kaepernick and
Reid inspired other players to raise awareness and help those in need. This decision caused huge
impacts on the nation, the NFL, and the youth who look up to the players of the NFL. Racial
inequality will always be a huge topic in the United Statesof America, and continues today to still
be a huge topic. With the NFL players raising awareness by kneelingand locking arms together

Lastly, the bitter taste buds are located in the far back of the tongue. There are some taste buds
on the palate that pick up different tastes (Smith, David). Smell, on the other hand, is the sense
that comes from odor molecules attaching to the olfactory nerve. Air carries the odor into the
nose. Then odor contacts the olfactory nerves at the top of the nasal passages. The the olfactory
nerves send a signal to the olfactory bulb of the brain, and the nerve sends a signal to the front of
the brain. The forebrain translates the signals of the odor into a specific smell (Swindle, Mark).
Smell and taste are so interrelated that many scientists think that taste is about 80% of aroma
and 20% actual taste (American Academy of Otolaryngology). It changes as people age, the
sense of smell seems to be better in adults than in kids. Usually at age 60 or over, adults may
start to lose their sense of smell. Scientists have proven that women have a better sense of smell
than men. People who have head injuries often lose their sense of smell and lose weight because
the taste of the food they eat has been impaired through the injury. Also, people with sinus
problems or upper respiratory problems lose weight because of a decreased sense of smell and
appetite (American Academy of Otolaryngology). In previous studies, Frank and Byram s article
suggest that taste and smell interactions are dependent on taste and odor. In their experiments, they

Impact of Global Competition on Trade Unions
To what extent does global competition undermine the power of trade unions? The development
of free market economics has, since the 18th century, resulted in the spread of a set of ideas,
creeds and practices all over the developed and much of the developing world. Today, the
globalisation of trade, capital, technology and innovation has accelerated competitive conditions
for businesses all over the world. Globalisation may be defined as the opening of markets to the

As global competition has intensified in the last thirty or so years, companies are increasingly
looking to cut costs through outsourcing business functions, units and operations. Cheaper
labour and business costs pull businesses away from developed economies to developing markets
such as China, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, and so on. Technological advancements also mean that
businesses need to operate 24/7, seven days a week and e commerce is inevitable for any
company that wants to survive and thrive. The virtual corporation (Davidow and Malone, 1993)
has become common. It is built on a global invisible network of relationships, suppliers,
distributors and contractors, all coordinated out of an office somewhere in the world. The human
worker at the heart of such an enterprise is in a very different position to someone working in a
factory to company a hundred or two hundred years ago. Stable relationships, hierarchical orders,
lines of command, even the predictable routines of work, rest, and so on have all but disappeared
in the networked economy. Outsourcing clearly affects workers whose jobs and pay rely on those
functions which have now been outsourced. Further, such developments negatively affect morale
among workers who may still have jobs in house but who are nervous about whether they, too, face
redundancy and reduced hours and, therefore, reduced pay. Trade

Evaluation Of A Theory Of Supervision
Theory of Supervision
Melany Zwilling
Eastern Illinois University Theory of Supervision Supervision is designed to facilitate growth and
learning among supervisees and supervisors through specified theoretical framework and
characteristics (Bernard Goodyear, 2014). A theory of supervision incorporates multiple techniques,
focus areas, and evaluation assessment tools to integrate developmental advancement among
practitioners (Tadlock Marlo, 2015). Addressing supervisory roles, incorporating multiculturalism,
and taking into account developmental levels among clinicians are factors imperative to form a
theory of supervision to form a clinical baseline in supervision (Tadlock Marlo, 2015). An analysis
of clinical supervision, specifically tailored to Bernard and Goodyear s discrimination model, will
reveal multiple foci and supervisory roles with alterations to fit desired counseling personhood.
Additionally, multiculturalism, supervisory relationships, and developmental stages will include
specific framework influencing factors of Bernard and Goodyear s discrimination model of

Literature V And Catullus
Literature from different time periods and different parts of the world has served as a mode of
influencing people and sparking reform. However, sometimes pieces of literature have unknowingly
influenced other modern day aspects. These similar connections may be found in other present day
literary works, or films, songs, events, and just about anything. For instance, the ancient poem,
Carmen 8 written by Roman poet, Catullus greatly influenced the modern day song, I Fall Apart
performed by Post Malone through similar uses of egocentric tone, masculine stereotypes, battling
internal conflicts, the theme of rejection, and a sense of a deranged mind.
To being with, the ancestor work, Carmen 8 written by Catullus in a few words is a pep talk to
himself, after an illicitly amorous affair between Catullus and a woman by the pseudo name of
Lesbia suddenly ends. The poem opens with Catullus chiding himself for being too gullible and
not noticing the obvious end to the affair. He describes the end as a cease of light in the lines,
once there were sunlit days when you followed after where ever a girl would go... Those were
the bright days gone; now she s no longer yielding, (Gregory, L. 3 8). After Catullus reminisces
over his love for Lesbia, he again rebukes himself for being emasculate by weeping over a
woman. Furthermore, Catullus slanders Lesbia and sneeringly rhetorically asks her what man
will compliment her, claim her, and kiss her, if it is not him anymore. Catullus ends the poem
reassuring himself to be firm as rock as, (Gregory, L. 17). Similar to Carmen 8, the descendant
work, I Fall Apart performed by Post Malone is a reflection of a breakup. The song starts with a
quick summary of the breakup, which was the girl not thinking Post Malone was sufficient for her,
thus she left him suddenly and heartbroken. Post Malone goes on to reiterate the feeling of his
heart breaking, and also stating that he had never loved with greater immensity in the lines, never
caught a feelin this hard, harder than the liquor I pour, (Malone, L. 17 18). Moreover, Post Malone
insults the girl, after he states he cannot move on from her even after everyone else but him had
seen the end coming. Towards the end of the

This may also be done in the basement or crawl space by boring through the sole plate. Repeat
the following process at the machine the cabling is being installed. After completing the
following, check the fit of old work boxes in the hole of the drywall. Adjust the cutout if needed.
You are now ready to pull the wiring through the walls, attic, or cellar. A pathway free from
obstruction will make the cable pull to termination points simpler. You need to measure from
router wall box to device wall box. Calculate an extra two feet into the length of wire necessary.
Cut the CAT5e wire to the appropriate length for your run using wire cutters. Afterwards, push
the wire down through the wall from the attic or use a fish tape to push up from the basement or
crawlspace. Once the CAT5e wire is detected inside the wall box, it can be pulled through the
wall cavity and old work box. Continue by securing the old work box in the precut hole by
tightening the screws in the corners of the work box. It is equally important to repeat this step for
the opposite side of your CAT5e run. It is also essential to have an additional six inches of cable
extending out of the work box to accommodate terminations. Once completed, you may now begin
the final phase of installation of your home network. The final phase of the project is terminating
the CAT5e cables. Popular connections used in a household are the CAT5e keystone jack and RJ45
connectors. The

  • 2. Analysis Of Sandy Hess s Basic Computer System Sandy Hess has four basic computer needs for her new computer; bookkeeping, invoicing, listening to music, and instead of paying for cable she would rather view content online. Her new system must also be portable and inexpensive. Wanting to purchase the best computer system for her needs, she has requested a recommendation before making her purchase. In order to accomplish the tasks Sandy wishes to perform on her new system it is recommended that she use Windows 8 due to the new features it offers over Windows 7. The first new feature Sandy is shown is when she logs in to Windows 8. The first screen she sees is the new Start Screen . Instead of Icons, the new Start screen has Tiles to open Apps. The default home screen for Windows 8 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first is the traditional desktop based application, where the app runs the same as Windows 7. The second option, however, is completely different from what Windows 7 and other versions have offered in the past and is known as Modern. Modern apps appear as tiles on the Start Screen of Windows 8, and an individual has to only click or tap one of the tiles in order to launch the service. The Windows 8 Metro applications are designed to run much like mobile apps that a user might find on their Smartphone. These applications are essentially designed to access small amounts of data and stay away from file information that is not important to the application. On the other hand, a traditional desktop application is larger, is able to work with more information and can receive approval from the admin of the device to access information from other outside sources. Sandy is also shown some peripherals she may hook up to her computer to fulfill her computing needs. Since she needs her computer to be portable such as a laptop, she will not need to buy a keyboard, mouse, or monitor. However, in order to perform printing needs, Sandy will need a printer. A printer is used to print documents, photos, and anything else that appears on screen. There are many types of printers available, including inkjet, laser, and photo printers. Sandy can also buy an all in one printer, scanner, and copier. An option for Sandy to purchase at a later date would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Negative Impacts Of The Creation Myth On The Earth Damiana Schell September 1, 2017 World Mythology Nicholas Morris Man was created to keep the earth but we have failed at that, we have not listened to the Genesis myth about being the caretakers, we have destroyed and pillaged the land. The creation myth was supposed to keep the earth pure but we justified it as a way to do what we want with it(Earth) and therefor have had a negative effect on the earth due to the genesis creation myth. Positive: The Genesis myth made man and woman more curious, God put a mysterious tree straight in front of man and we took it in our palms to try and understand what it was. After Eve bit into the apple we had ultimate truth and we wanted more knowledge, thus began man s inexhaustible search for knowledge.Without the Genesis myth man would never have considered knowledge as a powerful thing, but since God did not want to share the apple man began to crave it and eventually took part of it. Without genesis we would have stayed behind the line, not touched the tree, and would have stayed blind. Power, the apple gave us power, after eve bit into the apple we became self aware and thus had power over ourselves as well as our surroundings. And just like knowledge we yearned for power, some came in information, some in goods, and others in people s lives; such as human contact and families. We wanted to have it all and with ought the Genesis myth we would not have been given that power, the power to realize we are our own. Negative: They myth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Comparing Marie Clements s The Unnatural And Accidental Women Between 1965 and 1988 Gilbert Paul Jordan was linked to the murders of ten women of aboriginal dissent. Marie Clements play The Unnatural and Accidental Women puts a fictional account to the realistic murders of the aboriginal women in Vancouver. During the original murders the large misunderstanding and misinterpretation around aboriginal culture caused the murders of the women to be ignored, the women themselves to be viewed as invisible, or the murders to be deemed not important or accidental . In her play Clements recreates the original murders of the boozing barber , Gilbert Paul Jordan, however in the play she creates an identity for the murdered women that was not shown by the media, police or culture in Vancouver at the time of the original murders. The original murders of the boozing barber were completed by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the most important aspects that Sharon Sullivan highlights in her article about the play is how its surrealism allows for the focus to be on the women, and not the killings. Clements decentres the act of murder by focusing on the experiences and actions of the women before and after death, emphasizing their individuality and the possibility of redemption. (Sullivan, 68) The film, however, nullifies any attempt by the play to humanize these women, for it cuts out the witty dialogues between the women, portraying them only as they are represented in the media, as alcoholics, prostitutes, and victims. The movie places the murder and Rebecca, Aunt Shadie s Daughter, at the center of the plot line and completely erases the side stories of the murdered aboriginal women. While the screenplay is also written by Marie Clements, it dehumanizes the women by stripping them of their identity and turning their stories back into a classic Hollywood horror ... The television had a major impact on the lifestyles of Australians. After using the television, all Australians spent more time staying at home and entertain themselves rather than going out to the cinema or other venues. Televisions effects were not only of activity associated with interests, but in terms also of the intensity or strength of the viewer s feeling of interest in different things. The television was one of the most popular products that helped make professional and college sports big businesses. • 6. The Democratic Alliance and the Future of South Africa Good morning. As a representative and leader in the Democratic Alliance, I have come here today to explain to you why the DA sees a brighter and more opportune future for South Africa. However, we need your support in order to change our country into a nation of hope and for our dream of everyone to live in peace and prosperity to become a reality. To understand our manifesto and views, one needs to understand that the DA does not place people in a position of power according to their race, name or wealth, but rather their talents and efforts. This country cannot move forward without change, and as it stands the unemployment rates and the ever increasing problems are being put aside by the current government for personal ventures such as Nkandla that is surrounded by houses without running water. But dwelling on the negatives and current failures is not our objective. I am here to vie and let you decide that we are working towards a brighter future. it is understandable that people are worried that if they do not vote for the current government that the circumstances of apartheid and a dark past will reappear, but it can be assured that the DA are working towards changing the past and aim for a country that has equal opportunities for all. Our work is evident in the Western Capewhere we govern and 76% of the provincial governments budget is spent on poor communities. The Western Capes unemployment rate is the lowest in the country, 12% lower than anywhere else in South ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Nike Economic Recession In my opinion, if the sales volume were starting to suffer due to an economic recession, it would be absolutely necessary to change the corporate strategy. This is particularly true if the recession may have long term effects. One of the primary areas a recession affects in terms of products is the price. The current corporate strategy adopted by Nike is clearly geared towards the higher end of the market, and such a strategy may not be sustainable if consumers are searching for value in a market recession. Therefore, a change in corporate strategy would involve cost cutting, either from sponsorships or by reducing stores overheads. A change in the market, as significant as a recession, requires a new strategy for organizations in ensuring ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. A Study of the Healing Process from Slavery and Racism Essay A battle lost or won is easily described, understood, and appreciated, but the moral growth of a great nation requires reflection, as well as observation, to appreciate it. Frederick Douglass When you think of slavery, you may want to consider the effects of an earthquake because that s how powerful it was. Like many earthquakes, slavery produced various damaging ramifications to everything around it. This included devastation to family structures and in worst cases the loss of human life; and without doubt slavery claimed the lives of many just as Harriet Jacobs expressed I once saw a slave girl dying after the birth of a child nearly white. According to Frederick Douglass, it was the blood stained gate, the entrance to the hell of slavery, through which I was about to pass. It was a most terrible spectacle. I wish I could commit to paper the feelings with which I beheld it (p.4). Frederick Douglass and Toni Morrison literatures examine the stigma of slavery, and the perceptions of its dangers. They illustrate what life was like and the mental as well social impact it had on enslaved African Americans and their life after gaining freedom. Richard Wright convinces his audience in Black Boy that he was tired of the limitations and outcries in the South I was not leaving the South to forget the South, but so that some day I might understand it, might come to know what its rigors had done to me, its children (284). Alice Walker obtains her readers attention by transforming young women into their own characters with a voice using spiritual guidance. In Native Son, Bigger has achieved is lost after being apprehended and brought into captivity, as he transitions back into silence and passivity and begins to recover only in his final confrontation, whereas Douglass in the same prevailing convention, only heals after the regaining of his freedom. • 9. Henry II And The 19th Century Times started to transform in the 12th and 13th century with how the government ran in England. Henry II was King at this time and had developed a government system where he had professionals work for him. These professionals had schooling and got paid salary by the King. The government was very institutionalized with royal officials administering both revenues and law. The king did not have to be present much, in place, he had his officials do administrative work and record keeping. The king traveled all throughout the European continent because he was able to, while his working officials did his work in place. Henry II extended and strengthened the institutions of the English government. He became king during a horrible civil war between two royal claimants. The chaos had benefited the English barons and high churchmen, who gained new privileges and powers as the monarchs authority waned (355). Henry II s father Henry had built new castles and when Henry II took throne he confiscated the castles and regained the crown land. He then extended monarchical power by imposing royal justice. He built it on an already well developed legal system. The Anglo Saxon kings had royal district courts: the king appointed sheriffs to police the shires, muster military levies, and haul criminals into court...to these established institutions, Henry II add a system of judicial visitations called eyres (357). • 11. Gongche Paper In most cultures, there are many ways to write and express music. Here in America, there are chant notations, staff notations, solfege, and many more. China has another form of notation called Gongche. Gongche is written in traditional Chinese characters that represent the note or part of solfege that should be played. However, recently there are forms of writing musiccalled Jianpu, which are numbered notations that represent the note that needs to be played. Jianpu is a simplified version of Gongche, however, instead of using Chinese characters, numbers are used to represent a solfege. In standard American staff notation, there are different notes that are placed on a series of five lines that represent different notes. At the beginning of the line, there are symbols that show... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In gongche, every character represents a note, which makes up their solfege. To tell how much strength each note should be played for, there are accents placed on top of the characters, and a tiny open circle placed under them. The accent on top of the note means that it is weaker than a normal note, and the open circle means that it is stronger. This is done to assist with the rhythm of the overall piece. These marks are made for the percussion, instructing them to take the rhythmic lead. In the simplified, Jianpu notation, the numbers represent the notes position on the solfege. The scales that are represented here are major and minor. When the dot is placed on top of a number, it means it should be raised to the higher octave, and underneath means a lower one. In this system, the length of the note played is shown to the musician by dashes placed underneath the number. This indicates an equivalent of half and quarter notes. There are also zeroes that can be found on the musical piece, this means that there is a rest. Similarly to staff notation, the meter is established by the vertical line after a certain number of ... What Plato Meant by the Form of the Good Essay What Plato Meant by the Form of the Good The basis of Plato s philosophy is his theory of Ideas, or doctrine of Forms while the notion of Forms is essential to Plato s philosophy, over years of philosophical study, it has been difficult to understand what these Forms are supposed to be, and the purpose of their existence. When examining Plato s forms and evaluating the theory, some conclusions have proved to be unclear and unanswered. However, the doctrine of Forms is essential to Plato s philosophy. Plato came to his view of the Forms based on two premises: first that knowledge cannot come through the senses; and second, we do nevertheless manage to know things in mathematics, for instance.... The slaves know nothing of reality except the one of which they are presented as the Sun, which represents the Form of the Good is outside the cave but the slaves have no idea of its existence. One day a prisoner is released from his shackles and goes up to the upper part of the cave and sees the fire and the objects, which are casting the shadows, and he also sees the sun and is blinded by this higher form of reality. Plato believed that the way to find or realise true reality is not through gathering empirical evidence or through deep scientific tests such as studying the shadows to determine what they are. But rather that in order to break the chains we can only do so through inner contemplation or philosophical investigation in order to ascend out of the cave and see the sun which gives light to all the forms. For every sense object in the empirical world, there is a corresponding perfect Form. These Forms are non physical, permanent, eternal, and invisible. How then, you may ask, can one ever know of the Forms if they cannot be known by sense perception? Plato answers this question by stating that the Forms are known in thought. They are the objects of thought, therefore, whenever you are thinking, you are thinking of Forms. An important point to note about the Forms is the idea of permanence as the Forms are forever unchanging. An ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The two dominated this vast grassland, and they were able to hunt and catch any animal they wished. Their favorite meals consisted of the plain sandy yellow brown coated giraffe and zebra. One sunny day, the giraffe and zebra were hiding from the leopard and Ethiopian within the shadows of the trees. Mysteriously, jagged shadow shapes appeared on the fur of the giraffe and the zebra. The prey became permanently striped and spotted and were so well camouflaged that the leopard and Ethiopian were now incapable of finding lunch. The big cause for most climate change on Earth is the atmosphere and the oceans are an essential factor. Even though they do not respond to the climate changes they do have a role in the climate system. Earth is a big planet with at least 71 percent covered with water and 96.5 percent is located in the Earths oceans. There is an extreme interaction between the atmosphere, ocean and ice. In the past, ocean circulation has strongly impacted the climatesway of ice ages and oscillations of the circulations could have been the subsequent cause of some climate variations. Oceans absorb most of the sun s radiation compared to the atmosphere and land surface. Movement of the heat through local and global ocean currents affect the regulation of weather and temperature conditions. Understanding the essentials of the ocean s circulation has advanced during the past decades and scientist are able to model and find new data on past climates. Oceans move an extensive amount of heat across the planet in the same amount as the atmosphere. The difference is the oceans are confined by land masses so its heat is channeled into specific regions. Ocean currents are located at the surface and 300 meters deep below the water. Currents are powered by wind, tides, the Earth s circulations, the sun (solar energy) and water density. These characteristics affect the shape, size, directions and speed of ocean currents. Then odor contacts the olfactory nerves at the top of the nasal passages. The the olfactory nerves send a signal to the olfactory bulb of the brain, and the nerve sends a signal to the front of the brain. The forebrain translates the signals of the odor into a specific smell (Swindle, Mark). The development of free market economics has, since the 18th century, resulted in the spread of a set of ideas, creeds and practices all over the developed and much of the developing world. Cheaper labour and business costs pull businesses away from developed economies to developing markets such as China, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, and so on. Technological advancements also mean that businesses need to operate 24/7, seven days a week and e commerce is inevitable for any company that wants to survive and thrive. The virtual corporation (Davidow and Malone, 1993) has become common. It is built on a global invisible network of relationships, suppliers, distributors and contractors, all coordinated out of an office somewhere in the world. The human worker at the heart of such an enterprise is in a very different position to someone working in a factory to company a hundred or two hundred years ago. Stable relationships, hierarchical orders, lines of command, even the predictable routines of work, rest, and so on have all but disappeared in the networked economy. Outsourcing clearly affects workers whose jobs and pay rely on those functions which have now been outsourced. • 41. Literature V And Catullus Literature from different time periods and different parts of the world has served as a mode of influencing people and sparking reform. However, sometimes pieces of literature have unknowingly influenced other modern day aspects. These similar connections may be found in other present day literary works, or films, songs, events, and just about anything. For instance, the ancient poem, Carmen 8 written by Roman poet, Catullus greatly influenced the modern day song, I Fall Apart performed by Post Malone through similar uses of egocentric tone, masculine stereotypes, battling internal conflicts, the theme of rejection, and a sense of a deranged mind. To being with, the ancestor work, Carmen 8 written by Catullus in a few words is a pep talk to himself, after an illicitly amorous affair between Catullus and a woman by the pseudo name of Lesbia suddenly ends. The poem opens with Catullus chiding himself for being too gullible and not noticing the obvious end to the affair. He describes the end as a cease of light in the lines, once there were sunlit days when you followed after where ever a girl would go... Those were the bright days gone; now she s no longer yielding, (Gregory, L. 3 8). After Catullus reminisces over his love for Lesbia, he again rebukes himself for being emasculate by weeping over a woman. Furthermore, Catullus slanders Lesbia and sneeringly rhetorically asks her what man will compliment her, claim her, and kiss her, if it is not him anymore. Catullus ends the poem reassuring himself to be firm as rock as, (Gregory, L. 17). Similar to Carmen 8, the descendant work, I Fall Apart performed by Post Malone is a reflection of a breakup. The song starts with a quick summary of the breakup, which was the girl not thinking Post Malone was sufficient for her, thus she left him suddenly and heartbroken. Post Malone goes on to reiterate the feeling of his heart breaking, and also stating that he had never loved with greater immensity in the lines, never caught a feelin this hard, harder than the liquor I pour, (Malone, L. 17 18). Moreover, Post Malone insults the girl, after he states he cannot move on from her even after everyone else but him had seen the end coming. Towards the end of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
