The document discusses the history and definitions of the Internet, intranets, and extranets. The Internet began in the 1960s as the ARPANET network for researchers and has grown exponentially over the decades. An intranet is a private network that connects computers within an organization, while an extranet allows selective internal information from the intranet to be accessed by outside partners and remote employees. Key differences are that the Internet is largest but least secure, an intranet is private but smaller, and an extranet provides security with limited external access. In conclusion, while each has advantages and disadvantages, the systems differ mainly in their scope and levels of access.

According to the Census of India of 2001, India has 122 major languages and 1599 other languages are spoken by the 1.38 billion population of India. According to the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, twenty-two (22) of them are considered as official languages; viz. Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Bodo, Santhali, Maithili and Dogri. Hence, Translation services are essential for various sectors. Because most people only know one or two languages, translation services assist them in obtaining necessary information in their own tongue by eliminating the language barrier. In this study, we discussed the translation service in brief, its various types & facets, working techniques and current status of translation services & available centres in India.

Classaurus is a vocabulary control tool.
Developed by Ganesh Bhattacharyya and used for POPSI, the pre-cordinate indexing system.
It is a faceted systematic scheme of hierarchical classification incorporating all the essential features of a conventional retrieval thesaurus,i.e control of synonyms, quasi-synonyms and antonyms in extended senses.
Like faceted classification schemes, there are separate schedules for each of the elementary categories (entity, property and action) and for common modifiers (form, time, place and environment).

Definition of information science
Information science is that discipline that investigates the properties and behavior of information, the forces governing the flow of information, and the means of processing information for optimum accessibility and usability.
It primarily concerned with the analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval, movement, dissemination, and protection of information.
This includes the investigation of information representations in both natural and artificial systems, the use of codes for efficient message transmission, and the study of information processing devices and techniques such as computers and their programming systems.
It is an interdisciplinary science derived from and related to such fields as mathematics, logic, linguistics, psychology, computer technology, operations research, the graphic arts, communications, library science, management, and other similar fields. It has both a pure science component, which inquiries into the subject without regard to its application, and an applied science component, which develops services and products." Library and Information Science Education for the 21st Century / Lyn Robinson Infodays
This presentation will consider the recent development of library and information science as an academic discipline, and the consequent changes required to library school curricula, in order to prepare professional practitioners for employment in today’s information society. These changes, led primarily by technological developments, include the need for consideration of new forms of documents, new methods of dissemination, new information behaviour patterns and increasing demand for novel information architectures. Alongside changes in technology, we can see the emergence of overlap with companion disciplines such as the digital humanities, and these must be accommodated, alongside more obvious connections, such as those with computer science. In conclusion from all of this, we can see that a course focused solely on traditional workplace skills will be insufficient for today’s portfolio-based workforce. We must have an emphasis on thinking skills, new literacies, and resilience, so that we prepare our graduates for employment beyond their first position.

1.Wireless Communication System_Wireless communication is a broad term that i...JeyaPerumal1
Wireless communication involves the transmission of information over a distance without the help of wires, cables or any other forms of electrical conductors.
Wireless communication is a broad term that incorporates all procedures and forms of connecting and communicating between two or more devices using a wireless signal through wireless communication technologies and devices.
Features of Wireless Communication
The evolution of wireless technology has brought many advancements with its effective features.
The transmitted distance can be anywhere between a few meters (for example, a television's remote control) and thousands of kilometers (for example, radio communication).
Wireless communication can be used for cellular telephony, wireless access to the internet, wireless home networking, and so on.

The Internet is a growing network established in the”1960”
to meet the needs of the researchers working in the defense
industry in the USA then called the ARPANET.
The ARPANET on Internet grew to 10,000 computers by
1987 and to more than 1,00,000 by 1989.In 1990
ARPANET ceased to exist but Internet continued to grow
to an estimated:1 million computer in 1992 ,2 million in
1993.
The Internet new offers both Information access and a fast
and inexpensive means of communication to the public.
