On Oct. 11, 2017, the world celebrated the International Day of the Girl. This is a
movement to support more opportunities (機會) for women and to become aware (意識到)
of the disadvantages (不利條件) women face because of inequality (不平等). The Global Goals
(全球永續發展) YouTube channel released(推出) a video called Freedom- International Day of
the Girl. Using the song Freedom by Beyonce, it featured (以…為特色) young girls from all
over the world performing to the song. Statistics (統計數據) at the end of the video showed
some very moving (令人感到撼動的) facts. For example, one in four females(女性) are married
as a child.
The video itself is so moving on its own, but the facts and statistics (數據) in the video prove
(證明) some powerful points. It’s such a shock that to this day we suffer from (因…而受苦) so
many disadvantages (不利條件). It’s important for everyone to watch and understand there
are many girls suffering (受苦) just because they are girls.
