•Agri portal is a website that provides numerous free
services that enhance the web experience. It has all
service like agricultural technologies, commodity
price, email, chat, news greeting, address book etc.
3. FEATURES OF PORTALS
• Integration: Ability to integrate with current tools or the possibility of
adding new tools. It has outlook calendar and email integrated within
intranet.
• Security: Enables user or group based security to secure documents and
sites throughout the intranet portal.
• Customization: Software that is flexible to allow for organization. Web
parts can be used to create custom modules which can make interaction
easier with the site.

User friendly: Application is easy to use and understand due to a wide
range of technical abilities.
Remote access: Ability for users to access content away from the office.
People search: Search enterprise wide for employee information such as
contact information, specialty areas, group membership, and personal
interest.

• The Department of Agriculture & Cooperation (DAC), Ministry of
Agriculture, Govt. of India launched Kisan Call Centers on January 21,
2004 across the country to deliver extension services to the farming
community.
