Analyzing the Learners
 The students I will be teaching is a small 10
student 2nd grade class in the state of West
Virginia
 The ethnicity of the group is 95% Caucasian and
5% African American
Objective
 The objective for my class is to be able to locate
all states in the United States. They will be able to
locate all states by using matching and listening
to songs. Students will have to learn the location
of the states with 80% accuracy in 5 days and
100% on the 7th day.
Breakdown
 Day 1 – I will give students a brief history of the United States and
show kids what state they are from in correlation to all the other
states.
 Day 2-3 - Review all the states on a map within the classroom and
use internet with music to address different learners
 Day 4 - Students will have a blank maps with cut outs of the states
and clue each state to the correct location.
 Day 5 – Students will be able to locate states with pencil on a blank
map with state lines with 80% accuracy
 Day 6-7 - Students will study at home and review maps given to
them to study
 Day 8 – Students will be able to locate states with pencil on a blank
map with states with 100% accuracy
Use of Technology
 Use youtube to address future generations
 Also use original maps of the united states
