Sonoran Desert Ecosystem Lab Report
There are different sorts of environments scattered over the earth, but what and where are they? In
World Biodiversity Expedition, the reader is to collect data about these organisms and the
environment they are settled at. A biome is often mistaken as an ecosystem, however, it is defined by
non living factors such as climate, soils, and vegetation. This unit helped me understand more clearly
that there are so many organisms that I did not know anything about. I learned a lot from this specific
unit when it comes to discoverying animals and organisms that I did not know exist.
Firstly, we are going to survey life and environments at the Sonoran Desert with temperatures
reaching 118℉ with over 16 inches of rain each year in total. The Desert ... Show more content on

The Blue whale has two flippers that are close the chest along with two blowholes that make
navigating the ocean better. The Blue whale is the largest animal known to man with lengths and
width of 29.9 meters. Whales bodies coloration is grey white on the ventral side while the dorsal side
is blue gray. Nearly 2,000 9,000 pounds of Krill can fill a fully grown Blue whale daily, nearly 8,000
pounds of Krill is eaten during the whales peak consumption period. The next organism I identified is
the Antartctic krill that is 6 centimeters in length. This animals is consumed by many marine animals
such as the Blue whale, but what does the krill eat? The Antartctic krill consumes phytoplankton
which is a componet of the Plankton family. Although the krill is transparent, it has coloration such as
red, pink, yellow and blue.
In conclusion, one can see that there are organisms that they may not have known exist or know
anything about. This unit takes the reader around the world to observe beginiing with the Soran
Desert, Antarctica, Yellowstone, Great Barrier Reef, Deep Ocean, and Central Park. Learning about
habitats and the settled life forms that thrive for survival. Seeing the variety of temperatures these
animals are settled in along with their weight and length. Frigid climates have animals that are adapted

39 Pounds of Love Refection
The 2005 documentary 39 Pounds of Love follows Ami Ankilewitz of Israel on a journey across the
United States. Ankilewitz is determined to attain his persistent desire of finding Dr. Albert Cordova,
who incorrectly diagnosed Ankilewitz with muscular dystrophy and gave him only five years to live.
Ankilewitz was born in Texas in 1970. After noticing her son was playing and interacting differently
than other children his age, Ankilewitz s mother took him to be evaluated. There she was told her
precious child would not live even to his teen years. As the movie shows, 39 pound Ankilewitz (who
is now 34 years old and correctly diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy) began using a wheelchair
and microphone to assist in his daily living. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Against all odds, Ankilewitz not only eventually sits down with Dr. Cordova, but also fulfills his life
long dream of riding a Harley. The viewer sees just one sliver of Ankilewitz s life, but it is apparent
that he has faced all his challenges in life with this same degree of tenacity. With his 39 pound frame,
Ankilewitz backs down to no one, helping him exceeding Dr. Cordova or anyone else s expectations.
39 Pounds of Love shows Ankilewitz as a romantic, for life and love. Ankilewitz finds passion in
everything he does and friendship with everyone he meets. Ankilewitz s fragile frame mesmerizes
onlookers. Some stare, some walk away. Given the opportunity, Ankilewitz rapidly turns a stranger
into a friend. He is heartfelt, honest and transparent. His passion for life invites people in. These
relationships provide him with meaning and purpose. It is his life force. It motivates to do more than
simply get through life. Instead, Ankilewitz lives life and loves life. Ankilewitz s life proves other
people s perceptions of us do not have to define us. There comes a certain point in a person s life
where one must choose if outside perceptions are going to dictate their lives or serve as a catalyst for
the drive and determination to be proven wrong.
Examining others can provide for great introspection, which allows for the constant personal
reflection needed in the education field. Having the opportunity to observe the onlookers behavior in

Cardio Myopathies Are A Group Of Diseases
Cardio myopathies are a group of diseases, which affect the myocardium of the heart (kumar and
Clarke). They can be differentiated into groups with different characteristics: dilated, hypertrophic,
restrictive and arrythmyogenic right ventricular hypertrophies (report of the 1995 WHO).
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a familial condition affecting the heart, is characterised by
unexplained and variable hypertrophy of the left ventricular wall and the inter ventricular septum in
the absence of any alternate causes such as aortic stenosis or hypertension (Oxford Concise Medical
Dictionary, Kumar and Clarke). It differentiates itself from other cardiovascular diseases by the fact
that onset can occur during any phase of life. (maron 2002)
It is the most common cause of sudden cardiac death in young people with a predilection for children
and adults under 30 years of age (Maron BJ, 2010). The risk of sudden death decreases with age and
occurs significantly less frequently in those over the age of 60 with morbidity and mortality more
likely to be related to other co morbidities within this age group (Maron et al. 2011). Other severely
affected patients may experience chest pain, tachyarrhythmia or heart failure to a varying degree
(Oxford Concise Medical Dictionary).
Diagnosis is based on electrocardiography and echocardiography with pharmacological interventions
successfully controlling symptoms in some patients while others need cardiac catheterization or

Who Is Tom Brady A Hero
Tom Brady can be defined as a hero in many ways. Tom Brady has been an underdog throughout his
life. Whether one is talking about his high school, college, or NFL career, he has been considered a
long shot, and many people doubted his capabilities. Tom Brady was born on August 3rd, 1977. Since
he was very young he attended San Francisco 49ers games, and after watching Joe Montana, he fell in
love with the sport and the quarterback position. Since that day, his football career took off, and the
rest is history ( Tom Brady 2017). Tom Brady is related to the Greek Heroes, Theseus and Achilles
because he was not fearful and he showed his abilities when starting his first season as quarterback
because he won the super bowl, which relates to Theseus and the Minotaur, and he got caught with
deflate gate and got dragged around and got taken advantage of, like what Achilles did to Hector after
he beat him. Tom Brady was picked in the sixth round of the 2000 draft by the New England Patriots.
He did not start at Michigan until his junior year, and he did not have the physical build of a starting
quarterback ( Tom Brady 2017). He was tall and lengthy, and lacked a strong arm, which made it
difficult for him to compare to others coming out of the draft that year. Because of his average
abilities, he did not start his first year. He backed up Drew Bledsoe. However, his chance finally came
in his second year in the NFL. In 2001 Drew Bledsoe got hurt, and Tom stepped in to fill his position (
Bledsoe Replaced by Brady 2011). This is when Tom could really show himself off, and express what
he could do. He led the patriots to an 11 3 record in the regular season, and won the rest of the games
in the playoffs, including a super bowl upset against the Rams. Even if that is not remarkable enough,
he went on and had a 40 12 record through his next 3 seasons ( Tom Brady 2017). This shows his
abilities and many attributes, such as his leadership, his ability to not be afraid, and his mindset to
strive for greatness. This point is highly relatable to the Greek Mythology book, Theseus. They are
relatable because the same attributes were expressed for Theseus as well as well as Tom Brady
throughout their life s. Theseus and the

Use Of Stereotypes In Stephenie Meyer s Twilight
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer follows Bella Swan through her romance with the vampire Edward
Cullen. However, the novel is extremely harmful, especially to its young adult audience. Twilight s
use of sexist stereotypes for its main characters and the portrayal of them as ideal makes it necessary
to censor. From the first chapter of Twilight, Bella Swan is placed into the traditional stereotype of a
damsel in distress. In this stereotype, the woman is a delicate beauty. Bella fits this description, as she
says that she is ivory skinned...I had always been slender, but soft somehow (Meyer 10). However,
Bella being the delicate beauty means that, she is therefore seen by men as an object to be conquered.
For example, a boy named Tyler asks Bella to go to a school dance with him. ... Show more content on

He, on the outside, is Bella s knight in shining armor, even driving a shiny Volvo (Meyer 14). He is
handsome, rich, a perfect prince for the delicate princess Bella. However, Edward is really far from
being the hero . Putting aside the fact that he is a vampire, Edward is nothing more than a controlling,
insulting, obsessive man. For example, Bella walking in the direction of her car after Edward rescues
her, when something caught my jacket, yanking me back. Where do you think you re going? he asked,
outraged. He was gripping a fistful of my jacket in one hand (Meyer 103). Edward doesn t stop, but
pushes, forces and even commands Bella into his car. He even goes as far as threatening to just drag
you back , should she attempt to escape (Meyer 104). So, what does Bella do, she simply goes along
with this (Meyer 105). This brutal force of will comes from a character that is supposed to every teen
girls crush . This twisted version of an ideal guy, only strengthens the book s sexist implication that a
woman is nothing more than an object that must be controlled by a man, to young impressible teen

Hunger Is A Moral And Humanitarian Crisis
Despite all the atrocities and problems that bedevil the world, what has always horrified me is the
hunger that exists amidst the world of so much plenty. Indeed, hunger exists even in the First World
countries, including the most advanced nation, the United States of America. It is inconceivable how
even the poorest nations allocate big portions of their budgets to military hardware and not food
production. Hunger is a moral and humanitarian crisis, exacerbated by unjust policies and practices,
market distortions caused by excessive financial speculation by the deviation of food resources to
produce energy (News VA).The overall effect is that the population of people who are hungry is
increasing, instead of decreasing, despite the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem is more common on the streets where the homeless depend on the increasingly unreliable
Food Stamp for their upkeep. However, the countries that are most affected by chronic are some of the
most impoverished in the world. A good example is Honduras. The Republic of Honduras is the
second poorest country in Central America, with persistent poverty and inequality challenges and a per
capita income of about US$1,880 in 2010 (Rural Poverty Portal). 62.8% of Hondurans live in poverty
(World Bank, 2013).This puts Honduras in the league of the least developed nations on earth. With a
population of only eight million people, it is surprising how the state has failed to channel funds to
agricultural activities in order to feed its small population comfortably. 62.8% of Hondurans live in
poverty, and 6 out of 10 of households are subject to extreme poverty of incomes of less than $1.25
per day (World Bank, 2013). This situation is replicated in almost every country that is at the bottom
of economic food chain. Still, the Honduras hunger story reads like a horror movie as it is affecting
almost every child born and brought up in the country. With one in every four children suffering from
chronic malnutrition, one doesn t have to look far in Honduras to find a child in desperate need of
food (World Food Programme). Obviously, this is a chilling statistics. And with shortage

Aung San Suu Kyi And The Lottery By Shirley Jackson
Different people make the world go round Human clones may make an exceptional story line for a
mainstream science fiction movie. However if we all were clones, our world would lack the diversity
it thrives on. We would be stuck in a humdrum cycle without the diversity others bring. Barbara
Johnson expresses acceptance of diversity by saying We, as human beings, must be willing to accept
people who are different from ourselves. Discrimination, acceptance and tolerance toward diverse
people are values that today s society s struggles with the most. American Flag stands for Tolerance

Allowing people to flourish by their own means gives them the power to dictate their own beliefs.
Whatever these beliefs may be we must learn to accept them through ways presented in Aung San Suu
Kyi s speech in order to avoid disarray. She states the only way out of an impasse of hate , bloodshed
and social and economic chaos credited by men is for those men to get together to find a peaceful
solution ( Suu Kyi CR 12). The answer to peace and acceptance is within the place it was loss,
ourselves. We have to change our instinct to judge people to an instinct of acceptance. Society must
make this change through interaction and conversation, ways brought up in Suu Kyi s speech, with
one another to ultimately understand and accept people different from ourselves. In order for society
to accept people unlike ourselves, we must learn to have tolerance for their views. Emphasis on
differing views and the importance of tolerating them is shown when Ronald J. Allen wrote with
controversy comes debate, enlightenment, and renewed commitment (Allen 20). Tolerating
contrasting ideas to our own brings new arguments and
Sears 3 points to the surface that would have otherwise been left unaddressed. Putting prominence on
contradictory views opens society up to learn and continue to grow from one another. Without

Developing And Managing Offerings Process
DEVELOPING AND MANAGING OFFERINGS The seven steps in the offering development
process are idea generation, idea screening, features specification, development, testing, marketing
and evaluation. THE ACTIVITIES INVOLVED: 1. Idea generation This is the first stage and it is easy
and less expensive to generate, but the most expensive part of this is making it a reality. The activities
involved are carrying out a research using SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and
Threat), focus group and corporate spies to get an idea into developing a new product. Creating the
idea and gathering information from customers by watching and listening to them is another activity
involved in idea generation and determine if the offering is worth pursuing. The idea can come from
anywhere; it could be from employee, customers, suppliers, competitors and distributors. 2. Idea
screening This is the second stage in the offering development process. At this stage, the idea created,
gathered and about to be developed is looked into properly to determine if: i. it will add value to
customer, ii. it will it meet the need of the customers, iii. it will it be ready, the quantity and the price
to sell to the market iv. it is within the budget of the company; v. the company will make a profit and
how much. The organisation must be able to assess that the offering looks and work right (investment
risk) and fit for the purpose (opportunity risk) and if not, the idea needs

Cultural Diversity And The American Culture
Culture Diversity Today our society is built of different cultures and races. Cultural Diversity is a
diverse group in society, with varying racial classifications and national origins, religion affiliations,
language, physical size, gender, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, and geographic
locations (Taylor, 2014, p.74). Nurses need to know the different types of cultures in our society in
order to provide adequate care to clients with a different cultural background. As nurses, we need to
understand that each client has different values and beliefs which are learned from families and
communities. These values and beliefs can influence client s health. For example, Muslim clients may
refuse prescriptions containing gelatin, pork products, or alcohol while Jewish clients may be
prohibited the use of the patient controlled analgesia pump because it might be considered work
during a Sabbath day (Arritt, 2014). These two cultures are different from the American culture in
many ways, but they all need a good health care regardless of their values and beliefs. In the first
place, many Muslims come to the United States to meet with their families, find better job
opportunities, life, education, and health care system. When we talk about the Muslim culture in the
nursing field as nurses we need to understand a known what are their values, beliefs, and traditions of
the medical care. Muslims prefer a same gender nurse or doctor for medical care, especially for

Is Hell Exothermic Essay
How Logical is the Essay
Regarding to the essay question Is Hell exothermic or endothermic, though the answer that the student
gave was not exactly logical per se, but was certainly well deserved for the grade that he got due to his
creative and innovative way of thinking.
First, the question itself was based on the premise that Hell does exist, which we know most of the
scientists do not agree, as well as the existence of Heaven and God/gods. And since Hell is not to be
found in a place where we can probe, and no one has ever been there and came back, nobody can tell
for sure how does Hell functions . Thus we know that the intension of this question was not actually to
find the answer of the operation of Hell, but to test on how the

Essay On Sacred Heart Vs Notre Dame Hockey Game
On Thursday, October 19, I attended the Sacred Heart versus Notre Dame hockey game. I have
previously attended hockey games at Compton Family Ice Arena both in and out of the student
section. However, this experience was slightly different than my previous ones since many students
were still away for fall break. The lack of students created a much different atmosphere especially
because at Notre Dame Hockey games the crowd tends to feed off the excitement of students. This
was obvious during certain songs such as Turn Down for What by DJ Snake and Lil Jon which elicits
strong responses from students but created little excitement minus the students. However, the crowd
did feed off the band. The crowd joined in during let s go Irish ... Show more content on

The first was the constant matchup graphic on the ribbon board as I found the animation kind of
distracting throughout the game. It would be helpful if the players on the ice were shown with their
statistics similar to the way it is done at both men s and women s basketball games, however, I also
understand that may be unrealistic in hockey since there are such quick line changes. Another possible
area of improvement is the intro video. It felt very generic compared to the ones that I m used to
seeing for Notre Dame sports. Unlike this year s intro videos at volleyball (which features team
expectations matched with player highlights) and football (which focuses on the excellence and
tradition of the program), the only words in the hockey intro video were what a hit and takes a shot
which seem like placeholders for something more. Since this team did reach the Frozen Four last year,
I expected the intro video to build on last year s excellence or how they succeeded despite having one
of the lowest seeds in the tournament. Another big aspect of in game entertainment at hockey is the
intermissions. At this game, the first intermission was filled by a youth hockey league playing. I really
enjoyed watching all the little kids play hockey. It involved the community and created positive
memories for the kids and their parents. The second intermission was used for the Slap Shot contest.
The Slap Shot contest is always fun and really engages the

Case Study Booth House
An assessment is the evaluation of what a client s needs and issues are. Assessments are more in depth
than screening. A screening is brief and aims to get a quick understanding of the problem that is
affecting the client, and the severity of the problem. Booth House does a screening process in the form
of their Hotline call, and an assessment when they do their Intake. A Hotline Call is the screening
process that will inform those looking for shelter if they can receive shelter at Booth House. The first
question aims to get the name, age and sex of the individual who is seeking shelter. It than askes about
who is making the call and the reason why the individual or the person who is calling needs to receive
shelter. This question is important because if factors into the decision of if the youth will receive
shelter or not. The other questions during this screening process that is a deciding factor is if the teen
has a medical illness, is a firer starter, or has a mental health diagnosis. ... Show more content on

Upon arriving housekeeping policies have to be met before completing the assessment. Once those are
done the assessment must begin. The assessment is a continuation of the Hotline call but is more in
depth. The question in the assessment are geared more toward getting a better understanding of what
the teen s problem is, why they are seeking shelter and what they are feeling about the process. This
always the staff to get a better understanding of the issue in the words of the teen. Unfortunately, the
assessment does not take into account the youths strength. It would be beneficial for the youth to
know that someone saw a strength on them. Many of the youth that come to Booth House have low
self esteem and do not believe in themselves. Just asking them what they think their strengths are and

Mary s Role In Religion
Imagine yourself as a young girl of only twelve and on a cold night in Nazareth, an angel from God
appears and asks you a question that would change the rest of your life. This is exactly what had
happened to Mary. She had a choice to answer yes or no and she chose the hardest path. Mary is
important in history because she was the accepted God s invitation to be the mother of Jesus, and
devoted her life to God. She also raised, taught, and influenced our Savior. Mary was born in circa 20
B.C. in Nazareth, Israel. There was no exact month or date that she was born, but the Catholic Church

Crude, primitive, vulgar ; muddle instead of music ; a cacophonous and pornographic insult to the
Soviet people . Pravda, the Soviet government newspaper, made these comments after Joseph Stalin
attended a 1936 performance of Dmitri Shostakovich s opera. His second and final opera, Lady
Macbeth of Mtsensk, got it him into all sorts of trouble because it denounced sexism in Russia. After
this intense criticism from the government and threats of arrest, Shostakovich was forced to withdraw

People who are well rounded are perceived differently by different people with respect to what they
consider as balancing of the world around them. More considerations are given to the nature of the
surrounding around people in terms of how they behave, what is expected of them and if they coincide
with their age, success in life or anticipated wisdom at specific age. The level of socialization of a well
rounded individual is expected to be moderate in such a manner that one can converse with almost

Essay On Assault Weapons
Policy:
At least 84 people have been killed and 119 have been injured so far this year in 86 shooting incidents
involving assault style rifles, according to data compiled by the Gun Violence Archive, a not for profit
corporation that tracks gun violence. The reason for the shootings can happen for numerous reasons
such as terror or criminal acts. Regardless, this is happening because these delinquents have an easy
access to assault weapons. Consequently, assault weapons should be banned and made illegal in the
United States, unless used by governmental armed forces. Assault weapons are dangerous,
impractical, and when not properly operated can misfire and kill innocent bystanders.
Why the issue is a problem?
Assault weapons are a major ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, assault weapons cannot be used during the sport of hunting since they fire automatic rounds and
are extremely loud. In that case, the reasoning for owning an assault when is not valid.
Why the problem continues to exist?
When the second amendment was written, in 1791, assault weapons did not exist. Further, there was
never intended to include assault weapons in such amendment. It was written solely for people to be
able to use weapons for self protection. In fact, the first assault rifle made was the StG 44 in 1944,
during World War II, strictly for military use. Nowadays, many states in the US permit citizens to
purchase many handguns and assault weapons to their liking, without much supervision. Because of
that, the United States has more guns than any other country in the world. There are an estimated 270
million to 310 million firearms in circulation in the United States. With the American population at
319 million, that breaks down to nearly one firearm for every American.
Additionally, gun lobbyists are very strong in the political area, influencing lawmakers in believing
that assault weapons can actually benefit the public, where in fact they do not. These gun lobbyists
give the politicians large amounts of money, causing them to vote in their favor on certain topics
related to gun legislation. The phenomenon has been addressed many times but anti gun activists, yet
not action has been taken towards changing the corruption

It s Robotic Arm Hovers
With the click of a button, a small machine buzzes to life. It s robotic arm hovers, lowers, then
promptly repositions to hold a pair of syringes over a set of petri dishes. With short, rapid bursts the
syringes release a milky white paste, forming tiny little hexagons in each dish. After only a few
minutes they grow, resembling small honeycomb shaped structures. But these are no ordinary
honeycombs they re human livers (Tomo News). These small phenomenon of biomedical engineering
are identical to tissue samples of the real thing and constructed from actual human cells. But instead of
being grown in the lab or taken from a donor, the biomedical professionals at Organovo print them,
just like they would a document. In the past two decades, 3 D printing has grown from a niche
manufacturing process to a $2.7 billion industry, responsible for the fabrication of all sorts of things:
toys, jewelry, machine parts, and even food (Griggs). But now scientists are working to apply that
same technology to the field of medicine. In labs around the world, like the one at Organovo,
scientists have begun to print prototype body parts including heart valves, ears, artificial bone, joints,
menisci, vascular tubes, and skin grafts, ( Bioprinting ). The innovation of this technology lies in the
fact that it generates actual living human cells, allowing for the reproduction of organs and tissue that
mimic the form and function of native tissues in the body ( Bioprinting ). Since its

Fracking: Main Cause of Seismic Activity in the Central Parts of the United States and Solutions for

that do not normally have seismic activities are experiencing an increase of quakes near oil and natural

As a result there has been new research that has been devoted to the effects of hydraulic fracking.

Many experts in this field say that the large number of seismic events in Kansas is directly linked to
fracking. Although hydraulic fracking is an old process, it is more widely used today. (Petit, 2015, p.
14) The process that is being used for hydraulic fracking is by using pressurized water to break apart
the layer of shale. After the water is removed it is filled with salt and many other minerals which are in
the rocks. Once that is done, then the companies will transport it to a waste site. The disposal site can
be several hundred or thousands of miles away, depending on where they must dispose wastewater.
When the water is being disposed of the wastewater is being put underground in one of the disposal
sites. When this is done there are certain regulations that must be followed. There are many scientists
that have done research on the link between fracking and earthquakes. Wastewater disposal, at least in
the U.S. has been the primary cause of earthquakes. as stated by Arthur McGarr. (BOB, n.d., para. 10)
There are several people have differing opinions about hydraulic fracking. The likelihood that induced
seismic events will occur in properly, permitted and operated [disposal wells] is very small, as stated
by Edward Cross. (Wayne, 2015, para. 6) The experts in this field still have to determine when
hydraulic fracking is the main cause of earthquakes or if the main cause of seismic activity is due to
the disposal of wastewater. (BOB, n.d., para. 11) There are many people in the United States that think
the same thing when it comes to fracking. When Americans were asked to explain the surge of the
earthquakes many of them said that the cause was fracking. (Petit, 2015, p. 15) The industries that are
using hydraulic fracking are trying to take the necessary precautions when it comes to facking and the
disposal of the wastewater. Furthermore,

Kevin Plank Under Armour
Under Armour was started in 1995 by a man called Kevin Plank. A young college graduate made it his
goal to find a new kind of T shirt for athletes. Kevin found the kind of fabric he was looking for, went
to a tailor and had numerous prototypes made. Kevin then handed these prototypes out to friends that
he had known from playing football for his a large portion of his life. His old teammates too these
products, spread the word and before Kevin knew it he was selling thousands of shirts to athletes all
around the world.
Is Under Armour 21st Century Material?
Now while the story of Kevin Plank and his entrepreneurship success might sound pretty amazing
there are some key things that Kevin had and used to his advantage. Primarily what has Under ...

In my opinion, without his past he wouldn t not have been successful. If some random person walked
up to these football players and offered them t shirts to wear, majority of the players would have
thrown it away like all the other free merchandise they get. Due to the fact that Kevin had a
relationship with the people that he gave the t shirts away to allowed him to be able to get his product
recognized. Kevin originally started sending his prototypes away in pairs. Telling his old teammates
take one for you and one for the guy next to you. By doing this he allowed the relationship that his old
teammates had to establish one with their teammates and get his product furthermore recognized. If
you refer to Figure 1. You will see that originally Under Armour started out with 5000 employees in
1996. In 2006 Under Armour s revenue was 431 Million Dollars and by 2011 it was 1, 473 Million
Dollars. In about 5 years Under Armour increased their revenue by 1 Billion Dollars. From starting off
selling T shirts in his grandmothers basement to having his company worth Billions of dollars. Now
while these numbers might be impressive, something that is just as impressive is what Under Armour
continued to do. Looking at Figure 2. From Under Armour s CSR Report in 2013 you will see that
they took that 1.473 billion from 2011 and two years later almost doubled their revenues again. In
2013 Under Armour s

Hills Like White Elephants, a Theme Analysis Essay
Ernest Hemmingway uses time, place, and symbolism in Hills like White Elephants to intensify the
central dilemma in a story about a man and a woman deciding on whether to go through with an
abortion. Although a literal reading of the title may not seem to have any relation to the story, the title
is rich in implications. Critics suggest that Hills refers to the shape of a woman s stomach when
pregnant, and Webster s 21st Century Dictionary defines white elephant as: [An] awkward, useless
possession. The term is also defined in Webster s as an item that is worthless to some but priceless to
others. According to Victor Lindsey, the child in the story is a white elephant in the view of the man,
who is trying to convince the girl to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The train depot is surrounded on both sides by fields: one side with trees and fields of grain, and the
other contains nothing but dust (Hemingway 324). The two sides of the train tracks represent the
choice Jig will have to face between pregnancy and abortion.
Every time the man or the woman try to change the subject and avoid talking about the abortion, they
end up saying something that refers to or alludes to the baby or the abortion. The woman suggests that
the hills look like white elephants (324), which the man fails to acknowledge. The lack of clear
communication between the two causes tension and arguments at every turn. When the woman agrees
sarcastically that the man has never seen white elephants, he says, Just because you say I wouldn t
have doesn t prove anything (324). The woman is clearly annoyed at the insensitivity of the man s
negative feelings toward her pregnancy. For her, the baby is a priceless treasure, but for him it is a
worthless fetus.
Time and place are very significant in the story. The author describes where the train is boarded and
where it is headed to, but he never tells the reader where the man and woman are at the moment.
Hemingway notes that the train stopped at this junction for two minutes and went on to Madrid (324).
Baker argues that this limited time symbolizes the time she has to have the abortion (Baker, 145).

The Windows that Changed Our World Essay
How Windows can change our lives? is the question of the hour. The Windows that is being spoken of
is the Windows operating program on the computer in the typical office, the typical home and even

personal computers. Computers have had a profound effect on the typical American s life over the last

problem in this new social world is the applications that are addicting. There are places , games, as in
Yoville, Farmville, My Town and many more that become addictive and steal family time and reality

Length of School Calendar For every problem there is a solution. However, no solution can be found
by running in three different directions. The same thing can be said about the current education system
in the United States. Everyone has his or her own way of fixing the current program and everyone
wants to solve it in a different manner. Recently, the main focus has been on improving the United
States standardized test score rankings among other countries. The country has been scoring incredibly
low for how developed we are considered to be. Several solutions have been proposed: get rid of

It is clear that summer seems to be causing a huge gap in education. The students remember more
when they spend less time out of the classroom. This is why year round school is a better option for
students. A common misunderstanding of the year round school year is that the school has more days
than an original school year. In all actuality, students in both types of schooling only attend around
180 days. The only difference is that students in year round attend school with different arrangement
in breaks. It is called the 45/15 plan. This is allows students to spend 45 days in the classroom and
then take a 15 day break. By following this plan students do not forget as much material they learn.
There is not much time to forget it. Students take a short break from school and then roll right from
one grade to another. By students remembering more, teachers do not have to spend weeks reviewing
the material students should have remembered from the previous year. Year round schooling adds on
time to the learning year without literally added more time. Not only does the year round school
system improve memory recall for students, it also eases transitions for them. The

I Have Discovered Is Adeline Yen Mah s Chinese Cinderella
Throughout the years, reading and writing have had an impact on my life unlike any other. Specific
writings have prepared me for the journey of life. These pieces of literature consist of, Chinese
Cinderella, Life s for the Living, Forever in our Hearts, an autobiography written by my great great
grandfather, the phrase Mind over Matter, and Project Semicolon. Chinese Cinderella, Life s for the
Living, and Forever in our Hearts have influenced me to be unyielding. The autobiography inspires
me to work diligently and never concede. Optimism is encouraged by Mind over Matter and The
Semicolon Project.
One significant autobiography that I have discovered is Adeline Yen Mah s Chinese Cinderella. Mah
shares the incessant struggles of growing up with a family that detested her and how she dealt with
them. Her mother died as she was giving birth to Adeline; in turn, she was viewed as a cursed child.
As a matter of fact, reading helped Mah cope with these particular problems for the duration her life;
from her love of reading, Mah decided that becoming a writer would be her ultimate goal. In her story,
she remarked I read because I have to. It drives everything else from my mind. It lets me escape to
find other worlds, (Mah). This young girl was capable of pursuing her dreams through difficult times;
as a result, the pursuit of reaching my goals has become feasible.

The Ethical Standing On The Delivery System Of The United...
Environmental Footprint of Mail Distribution Most of us don t consider how our mail is transported
each and every day and the impact it has on our environment. Thousands of letters are shipped out
daily, but what steps do these messages take in order to arrive in our mailboxes? This mail delivering
process uses mail trucks to carry our letters. Can the vehicles we use to transport our mail have a
negative impact on our environment, and if so are there any programs in place to help reduce this
impact? In this paper I will discuss the ethical standing on the delivery system of the United States
Postal Service. I will research the statistics of their vehicles pollution rates and what it takes to use
these services. In this paper I will uncover the current circumstances of postal transportation vehicles
and discuss ways to improve these methods. In this paper you will come to a greater understanding of
the environmental footprint of the distribution of our letters. You will recognize the emissions
produced through this transportation. I will present the solutions in progress to help reduce the amount
of pollution from these mail delivery vehicles. The United States Postal Service has put green policies
in place. Not only have they been working to reduce fuel emissions and pollution through their new
trucks, they have begun using recyclable stamps to conserve the environment. They have been
working to establish a more ethical supply chain. Folks at the USPS believe we

Cirque Du Soleil Swot Analysis
Question 1
1.1 Undertake a detailed SWOT analysis of KBB Resources Group Berhad Malaysia.
KBB Resources Berhad Malaysia is concerned about their profitable growth. Additionally, top
management has concerns pertaining to the sustainability of the organisation s competitive advantages
in its strategic business segments. The organisation thus requires that a SWOT analysis be conducted
in order to determine its current position and where the organisation would require to focus its
strategic objectives in the future in order to remedy the current problems that are being faced with
regard to sustainable profitable growth.

The factors that Cirque du Soleil reduced well below the industry s standard are the dependence on the
use of animals, individual performers, and the focus on adolescent audiences (Lazenby, 2014).
The factors that Cirque du Soleil raised well above the industry s standard were the emphasis on
creating a new form of entertainment which is expressed through dance, music, and acrobatic skill;
they also focussed on group performances instead of individualistic efforts (Lazenby, 2014). Cirque du
Soleil also concentrated on conveying a sense of intellectual sophistication (which is priced at a
premium) especially appealing to adult audiences (Quartz, 2015).
The factors that Cirque du Soleil created that the industry has never offered are the introduction of a
premium circus (appealing specifically to adults) that do not have any animals (cutting costs
immensely and avoiding unfavourable public backlash) and focus specifically on performers with
exceptional acrobatic skill in a new form of entertainment that the world has never been able to

At the GNYRC ACSM 2017 conference, there were two presenters that stood out to me the most.
Dennis Cardone, a sports medicine physician, an orthopedic surgeon who discussed current research

practical way to analyze the pitching mechanics and the key moments in the movement of this
overhead motion.
In Cardone presentation, His main focus was on Platelet rich plasma (PRP), (plasmas that come from

athlete, in particular, Tommy John, an American professional baseball (left handed) pitcher, who
permanently damaged his ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching arm, leading to a revolutionary
surgical operation. known as Tommy John surgery. It replaced the ligament in the elbow of his
pitching arm with a tendon from his right forearm. The surgery was performed by Dr. Frank Jobe in
1974. After the surgery, the odds were against John, since there was a 1 in 100 success rate for that
operation. But, he took a season off to recover and worked with a kinesiologist, who taught him a
completely different way to pitching, eliminating the chance of him hurting his knee and arm. Before
his surgery he won 124 games after his surgery 164 games won, John continued to play for 14 more
years, retiring in 1989. Marcos, went on to discuss scapular strength and positional impairments such
as scapular dyskinesia, insufficient posterior tilt, excessive abduction and prominent inferior medial
border, which are all factors that play a part in the inverted W pitching position; that Marcos believes,
is one of the driving forces behind the some pitcher s injuries and the Tommy

Renewable Sources of Energy
Biofuel is Fuel produced from renewable resources, especially plant biomass, vegetable oils, and
treated municipal and industrial wastes. Every time we drive in a vehicle we are using nonrenewable
resources that are bad for the environment. Using gasoline or diesel release chemicals called green
house gasses into the environment. Because of theses harmful chemicals people have started to use
biofuels. There are two types of biofuels, ethanol and biodiesel. Biofuel is Fuel produced from
renewable resources, especially plant biomass, vegetable oils, and treated municipal and industrial
wastes.
Ethanol
Ethanol is made from the sugar in grain and plants. It is mostly made from common crops like potato,
sugar cane, and corn. It is usually mixed with gasoline to reduce the amount of fossil fuels used by
vehicles.
The world production of ethanol tripled between 200 and 2007. In 2011 22.36 billion gallons were
produced the United States was the top producer with 52.6 liters made. This accounted for 62.2% of
global production followed by Brazil.
One gallon of ethanol is equivalent to 1.5 gallons of fuel. Most cars can run of blends of up to 10%
ethanol. High blends of ethanol have presented problems with vapor pressure needed for fuel to
evaporate and spark the ignition during cold weather around 52 degrees. We have started using E85 in
flex fuel vehicles because that is what they run the best on but in colder areas like Michigan E70 is
used during winter months and still

Examples Of Being Extrovert Essay
I am not famous, I am extroverted My friends in school think that I am just a normal with no life at all.
However, outside of school, I have a whole different kind of personality which is being extroverted. I
disagree with my friends in school that I have no life and have not many friends. In my friends
perspective, being extroverted means being very famous and is the kind of person who stands out from
the rest, but for me, it just means that I can relate to other people by having a kind heart and an open
mind. The word extrovert came from the Latin word extro meaning extra and vertere meaning turn.
Having said this, the real meaning of the word is if the person has an attitude of being friendly,
sociable, and talkative. However, people who are extroverted have a different approach of the
meaning. These people think that people should be famous to be extroverted. Being famous leads to
having more friends. Having more friends means they have more social life and they feel that they

Farmers Who Often Carry Guns And Run Prisons
The XPCC: Farmers Who Sometimes Carry Guns and Run Prisons
Faced with an alarming rise in Xinjiang violence over the last two years, Beijing is searching for a
high visibility, public solution. Most recently, officials attention has settled on the Xinjiang Production
and Construction Corps (XPCC), known informally in Chinese as bingtuan ( Corps ). While it has
been a martial organization in name and structure since its inception, the international media is getting
ahead of itself in playing up the military role played by Xinjiang s bingtuan. Controlling 700,000
hectares, almost 30% of Xinjiang s arable land, along with 2.6 million residents in its cities, the is first
and foremost a bureaucratic corporation.
The history of the XPCC goes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ebb and flow of political sentiment has left its mark on the structure and raison d être of the
XPCC. By the early 1970s, the organization had visibly suffered from its experience of the Cultural
Revolution, the only time the organization has ever been directly overseen by the army. In 1979,
however, the Soviets invaded Afghanistan and the latent threat posed by the USSR became more
active. Chinese leadership, newly recovered from the death of Mao, felt surrounded. Already in a
heated hearts and minds propaganda competition with the Soviets for Xinjiang s Muslim minority
groups, the importance of Xinjiang to the geopolitics of an isolated PRC suddenly crystalized.
In a decisive reversal that highlights officials sense of insecurity, the XPCC was restored in 1981
during a time when other border provinces bingtuan were being permanently abolished (such as
Hainan s, abolished just two years before).
Since the fall of the Soviet Union, the XPCC has continued to play a quiet but ubiquitous role in
Xinjiang s development. However, the circumstances surrounding the organization s reinstatement
does not mean that the post 1981 bingtuan was any more substantively militarily oriented than before.
Instead, its primary practical function increasingly became the generation of profits.
One of lesser known functions of the bingtuan is the large penal system it

  • 2. Sonoran Desert Ecosystem Lab Report There are different sorts of environments scattered over the earth, but what and where are they? In World Biodiversity Expedition, the reader is to collect data about these organisms and the environment they are settled at. A biome is often mistaken as an ecosystem, however, it is defined by non living factors such as climate, soils, and vegetation. This unit helped me understand more clearly that there are so many organisms that I did not know anything about. I learned a lot from this specific unit when it comes to discoverying animals and organisms that I did not know exist. Firstly, we are going to survey life and environments at the Sonoran Desert with temperatures reaching 118℉ with over 16 inches of rain each year in total. The Desert ... The Blue whale is the largest animal known to man with lengths and width of 29.9 meters. Whales bodies coloration is grey white on the ventral side while the dorsal side is blue gray. Nearly 2,000 9,000 pounds of Krill can fill a fully grown Blue whale daily, nearly 8,000 pounds of Krill is eaten during the whales peak consumption period. The next organism I identified is the Antartctic krill that is 6 centimeters in length. This animals is consumed by many marine animals such as the Blue whale, but what does the krill eat? The Antartctic krill consumes phytoplankton which is a componet of the Plankton family. Although the krill is transparent, it has coloration such as red, pink, yellow and blue. In conclusion, one can see that there are organisms that they may not have known exist or know anything about. This unit takes the reader around the world to observe beginiing with the Soran Desert, Antarctica, Yellowstone, Great Barrier Reef, Deep Ocean, and Central Park. Learning about habitats and the settled life forms that thrive for survival. Seeing the variety of temperatures these animals are settled in along with their weight and length. • 3. 39 Pounds of Love Refection The 2005 documentary 39 Pounds of Love follows Ami Ankilewitz of Israel on a journey across the United States. Ankilewitz is determined to attain his persistent desire of finding Dr. Albert Cordova, who incorrectly diagnosed Ankilewitz with muscular dystrophy and gave him only five years to live. Ankilewitz was born in Texas in 1970. After noticing her son was playing and interacting differently than other children his age, Ankilewitz s mother took him to be evaluated. There she was told her precious child would not live even to his teen years. As the movie shows, 39 pound Ankilewitz (who is now 34 years old and correctly diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy) began using a wheelchair and microphone to assist in his daily living. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Against all odds, Ankilewitz not only eventually sits down with Dr. Cordova, but also fulfills his life long dream of riding a Harley. The viewer sees just one sliver of Ankilewitz s life, but it is apparent that he has faced all his challenges in life with this same degree of tenacity. With his 39 pound frame, Ankilewitz backs down to no one, helping him exceeding Dr. Cordova or anyone else s expectations. 39 Pounds of Love shows Ankilewitz as a romantic, for life and love. Ankilewitz finds passion in everything he does and friendship with everyone he meets. Ankilewitz s fragile frame mesmerizes onlookers. Some stare, some walk away. Given the opportunity, Ankilewitz rapidly turns a stranger into a friend. He is heartfelt, honest and transparent. His passion for life invites people in. These relationships provide him with meaning and purpose. It is his life force. It motivates to do more than simply get through life. Instead, Ankilewitz lives life and loves life. Ankilewitz s life proves other people s perceptions of us do not have to define us. There comes a certain point in a person s life where one must choose if outside perceptions are going to dictate their lives or serve as a catalyst for the drive and determination to be proven wrong. Examining others can provide for great introspection, which allows for the constant personal reflection needed in the education field. Having the opportunity to observe the onlookers behavior in response to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Cardio Myopathies Are A Group Of Diseases Cardio myopathies are a group of diseases, which affect the myocardium of the heart (kumar and Clarke). They can be differentiated into groups with different characteristics: dilated, hypertrophic, restrictive and arrythmyogenic right ventricular hypertrophies (report of the 1995 WHO). Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a familial condition affecting the heart, is characterised by unexplained and variable hypertrophy of the left ventricular wall and the inter ventricular septum in the absence of any alternate causes such as aortic stenosis or hypertension (Oxford Concise Medical Dictionary, Kumar and Clarke). It differentiates itself from other cardiovascular diseases by the fact that onset can occur during any phase of life. (maron 2002) It is the most common cause of sudden cardiac death in young people with a predilection for children and adults under 30 years of age (Maron BJ, 2010). The risk of sudden death decreases with age and occurs significantly less frequently in those over the age of 60 with morbidity and mortality more likely to be related to other co morbidities within this age group (Maron et al. 2011). Other severely affected patients may experience chest pain, tachyarrhythmia or heart failure to a varying degree (Oxford Concise Medical Dictionary). Diagnosis is based on electrocardiography and echocardiography with pharmacological interventions successfully controlling symptoms in some patients while others need cardiac catheterization or surgical ... • 5. Who Is Tom Brady A Hero Tom Brady can be defined as a hero in many ways. Tom Brady has been an underdog throughout his life. Whether one is talking about his high school, college, or NFL career, he has been considered a long shot, and many people doubted his capabilities. Tom Brady was born on August 3rd, 1977. Since he was very young he attended San Francisco 49ers games, and after watching Joe Montana, he fell in love with the sport and the quarterback position. Since that day, his football career took off, and the rest is history ( Tom Brady 2017). Tom Brady is related to the Greek Heroes, Theseus and Achilles because he was not fearful and he showed his abilities when starting his first season as quarterback because he won the super bowl, which relates to Theseus and the Minotaur, and he got caught with deflate gate and got dragged around and got taken advantage of, like what Achilles did to Hector after he beat him. Tom Brady was picked in the sixth round of the 2000 draft by the New England Patriots. He did not start at Michigan until his junior year, and he did not have the physical build of a starting quarterback ( Tom Brady 2017). He was tall and lengthy, and lacked a strong arm, which made it difficult for him to compare to others coming out of the draft that year. Because of his average abilities, he did not start his first year. He backed up Drew Bledsoe. However, his chance finally came in his second year in the NFL. In 2001 Drew Bledsoe got hurt, and Tom stepped in to fill his position ( Bledsoe Replaced by Brady 2011). This is when Tom could really show himself off, and express what he could do. He led the patriots to an 11 3 record in the regular season, and won the rest of the games in the playoffs, including a super bowl upset against the Rams. Even if that is not remarkable enough, he went on and had a 40 12 record through his next 3 seasons ( Tom Brady 2017). This shows his abilities and many attributes, such as his leadership, his ability to not be afraid, and his mindset to strive for greatness. This point is highly relatable to the Greek Mythology book, Theseus. They are relatable because the same attributes were expressed for Theseus as well as well as Tom Brady throughout their life s. Theseus and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Use Of Stereotypes In Stephenie Meyer s Twilight Twilight by Stephenie Meyer follows Bella Swan through her romance with the vampire Edward Cullen. However, the novel is extremely harmful, especially to its young adult audience. Twilight s use of sexist stereotypes for its main characters and the portrayal of them as ideal makes it necessary to censor. From the first chapter of Twilight, Bella Swan is placed into the traditional stereotype of a damsel in distress. In this stereotype, the woman is a delicate beauty. Bella fits this description, as she says that she is ivory skinned...I had always been slender, but soft somehow (Meyer 10). However, Bella being the delicate beauty means that, she is therefore seen by men as an object to be conquered. For example, a boy named Tyler asks Bella to go to a school dance with him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He, on the outside, is Bella s knight in shining armor, even driving a shiny Volvo (Meyer 14). He is handsome, rich, a perfect prince for the delicate princess Bella. However, Edward is really far from being the hero . Putting aside the fact that he is a vampire, Edward is nothing more than a controlling, insulting, obsessive man. For example, Bella walking in the direction of her car after Edward rescues her, when something caught my jacket, yanking me back. Where do you think you re going? he asked, outraged. He was gripping a fistful of my jacket in one hand (Meyer 103). Edward doesn t stop, but pushes, forces and even commands Bella into his car. He even goes as far as threatening to just drag you back , should she attempt to escape (Meyer 104). So, what does Bella do, she simply goes along with this (Meyer 105). This brutal force of will comes from a character that is supposed to every teen girls crush . This twisted version of an ideal guy, only strengthens the book s sexist implication that a woman is nothing more than an object that must be controlled by a man, to young impressible teen ... • 7. Hunger Is A Moral And Humanitarian Crisis Despite all the atrocities and problems that bedevil the world, what has always horrified me is the hunger that exists amidst the world of so much plenty. Indeed, hunger exists even in the First World countries, including the most advanced nation, the United States of America. It is inconceivable how even the poorest nations allocate big portions of their budgets to military hardware and not food production. Hunger is a moral and humanitarian crisis, exacerbated by unjust policies and practices, market distortions caused by excessive financial speculation by the deviation of food resources to produce energy (News VA).The overall effect is that the population of people who are hungry is increasing, instead of decreasing, despite the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The problem is more common on the streets where the homeless depend on the increasingly unreliable Food Stamp for their upkeep. However, the countries that are most affected by chronic are some of the most impoverished in the world. A good example is Honduras. The Republic of Honduras is the second poorest country in Central America, with persistent poverty and inequality challenges and a per capita income of about US$1,880 in 2010 (Rural Poverty Portal). 62.8% of Hondurans live in poverty (World Bank, 2013).This puts Honduras in the league of the least developed nations on earth. With a population of only eight million people, it is surprising how the state has failed to channel funds to agricultural activities in order to feed its small population comfortably. 62.8% of Hondurans live in poverty, and 6 out of 10 of households are subject to extreme poverty of incomes of less than $1.25 per day (World Bank, 2013). This situation is replicated in almost every country that is at the bottom of economic food chain. Still, the Honduras hunger story reads like a horror movie as it is affecting almost every child born and brought up in the country. With one in every four children suffering from chronic malnutrition, one doesn t have to look far in Honduras to find a child in desperate need of food (World Food Programme). Obviously, this is a chilling statistics. And with shortage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Aung San Suu Kyi And The Lottery By Shirley Jackson Different people make the world go round Human clones may make an exceptional story line for a mainstream science fiction movie. However if we all were clones, our world would lack the diversity it thrives on. We would be stuck in a humdrum cycle without the diversity others bring. Barbara Johnson expresses acceptance of diversity by saying We, as human beings, must be willing to accept people who are different from ourselves. Discrimination, acceptance and tolerance toward diverse people are values that today s society s struggles with the most. American Flag stands for Tolerance newspaper editorial by Ronald J. Allowing people to flourish by their own means gives them the power to dictate their own beliefs. Whatever these beliefs may be we must learn to accept them through ways presented in Aung San Suu Kyi s speech in order to avoid disarray. She states the only way out of an impasse of hate , bloodshed and social and economic chaos credited by men is for those men to get together to find a peaceful solution ( Suu Kyi CR 12). The answer to peace and acceptance is within the place it was loss, ourselves. We have to change our instinct to judge people to an instinct of acceptance. Society must make this change through interaction and conversation, ways brought up in Suu Kyi s speech, with one another to ultimately understand and accept people different from ourselves. In order for society to accept people unlike ourselves, we must learn to have tolerance for their views. Emphasis on differing views and the importance of tolerating them is shown when Ronald J. Allen wrote with controversy comes debate, enlightenment, and renewed commitment (Allen 20). Tolerating contrasting ideas to our own brings new arguments and Sears 3 points to the surface that would have otherwise been left unaddressed. Putting prominence on contradictory views opens society up to learn and continue to grow from one another. Without understanding others, who are different from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Developing And Managing Offerings Process DEVELOPING AND MANAGING OFFERINGS The seven steps in the offering development process are idea generation, idea screening, features specification, development, testing, marketing and evaluation. THE ACTIVITIES INVOLVED: 1. Idea generation This is the first stage and it is easy and less expensive to generate, but the most expensive part of this is making it a reality. The activities involved are carrying out a research using SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat), focus group and corporate spies to get an idea into developing a new product. Creating the idea and gathering information from customers by watching and listening to them is another activity involved in idea generation and determine if the offering is worth pursuing. The idea can come from anywhere; it could be from employee, customers, suppliers, competitors and distributors. 2. Idea screening This is the second stage in the offering development process. At this stage, the idea created, gathered and about to be developed is looked into properly to determine if: i. it will add value to customer, ii. it will it meet the need of the customers, iii. it will it be ready, the quantity and the price to sell to the market iv. it is within the budget of the company; v. the company will make a profit and how much. The organisation must be able to assess that the offering looks and work right (investment risk) and fit for the purpose (opportunity risk) and if not, the idea needs ... • 10. Cultural Diversity And The American Culture Culture Diversity Today our society is built of different cultures and races. Cultural Diversity is a diverse group in society, with varying racial classifications and national origins, religion affiliations, language, physical size, gender, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic status, and geographic locations (Taylor, 2014, p.74). Nurses need to know the different types of cultures in our society in order to provide adequate care to clients with a different cultural background. As nurses, we need to understand that each client has different values and beliefs which are learned from families and communities. These values and beliefs can influence client s health. For example, Muslim clients may refuse prescriptions containing gelatin, pork products, or alcohol while Jewish clients may be prohibited the use of the patient controlled analgesia pump because it might be considered work during a Sabbath day (Arritt, 2014). These two cultures are different from the American culture in many ways, but they all need a good health care regardless of their values and beliefs. In the first place, many Muslims come to the United States to meet with their families, find better job opportunities, life, education, and health care system. When we talk about the Muslim culture in the nursing field as nurses we need to understand a known what are their values, beliefs, and traditions of the medical care. Is Hell Exothermic Essay How Logical is the Essay Regarding to the essay question Is Hell exothermic or endothermic, though the answer that the student gave was not exactly logical per se, but was certainly well deserved for the grade that he got due to his creative and innovative way of thinking. First, the question itself was based on the premise that Hell does exist, which we know most of the scientists do not agree, as well as the existence of Heaven and God/gods. And since Hell is not to be found in a place where we can probe, and no one has ever been there and came back, nobody can tell for sure how does Hell functions . Thus we know that the intension of this question was not actually to find the answer of the operation of Hell, but to test on how the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Essay On Sacred Heart Vs Notre Dame Hockey Game On Thursday, October 19, I attended the Sacred Heart versus Notre Dame hockey game. I have previously attended hockey games at Compton Family Ice Arena both in and out of the student section. However, this experience was slightly different than my previous ones since many students were still away for fall break. The lack of students created a much different atmosphere especially because at Notre Dame Hockey games the crowd tends to feed off the excitement of students. This was obvious during certain songs such as Turn Down for What by DJ Snake and Lil Jon which elicits strong responses from students but created little excitement minus the students. However, the crowd did feed off the band. The crowd joined in during let s go Irish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first was the constant matchup graphic on the ribbon board as I found the animation kind of distracting throughout the game. It would be helpful if the players on the ice were shown with their statistics similar to the way it is done at both men s and women s basketball games, however, I also understand that may be unrealistic in hockey since there are such quick line changes. Another possible area of improvement is the intro video. It felt very generic compared to the ones that I m used to seeing for Notre Dame sports. Unlike this year s intro videos at volleyball (which features team expectations matched with player highlights) and football (which focuses on the excellence and tradition of the program), the only words in the hockey intro video were what a hit and takes a shot which seem like placeholders for something more. Since this team did reach the Frozen Four last year, I expected the intro video to build on last year s excellence or how they succeeded despite having one of the lowest seeds in the tournament. Another big aspect of in game entertainment at hockey is the intermissions. At this game, the first intermission was filled by a youth hockey league playing. I really enjoyed watching all the little kids play hockey. It involved the community and created positive memories for the kids and their parents. Many experts in this field say that the large number of seismic events in Kansas is directly linked to fracking. Although hydraulic fracking is an old process, it is more widely used today. (Petit, 2015, p. 14) The process that is being used for hydraulic fracking is by using pressurized water to break apart the layer of shale. After the water is removed it is filled with salt and many other minerals which are in the rocks. Once that is done, then the companies will transport it to a waste site. The disposal site can be several hundred or thousands of miles away, depending on where they must dispose wastewater. When the water is being disposed of the wastewater is being put underground in one of the disposal sites. When this is done there are certain regulations that must be followed. There are many scientists that have done research on the link between fracking and earthquakes. Wastewater disposal, at least in the U.S. has been the primary cause of earthquakes. as stated by Arthur McGarr. (BOB, n.d., para. 10) There are several people have differing opinions about hydraulic fracking. The likelihood that induced seismic events will occur in properly, permitted and operated [disposal wells] is very small, as stated by Edward Cross. (Wayne, 2015, para. 6) The experts in this field still have to determine when hydraulic fracking is the main cause of earthquakes or if the main cause of seismic activity is due to the disposal of wastewater. (BOB, n.d., para. 11) There are many people in the United States that think the same thing when it comes to fracking. When Americans were asked to explain the surge of the earthquakes many of them said that the cause was fracking. Hills Like White Elephants, a Theme Analysis Essay Ernest Hemmingway uses time, place, and symbolism in Hills like White Elephants to intensify the central dilemma in a story about a man and a woman deciding on whether to go through with an abortion. Although a literal reading of the title may not seem to have any relation to the story, the title is rich in implications. Critics suggest that Hills refers to the shape of a woman s stomach when pregnant, and Webster s 21st Century Dictionary defines white elephant as: [An] awkward, useless possession. The term is also defined in Webster s as an item that is worthless to some but priceless to others. The train depot is surrounded on both sides by fields: one side with trees and fields of grain, and the other contains nothing but dust (Hemingway 324). The two sides of the train tracks represent the choice Jig will have to face between pregnancy and abortion. Every time the man or the woman try to change the subject and avoid talking about the abortion, they end up saying something that refers to or alludes to the baby or the abortion. The woman suggests that the hills look like white elephants (324), which the man fails to acknowledge. The lack of clear communication between the two causes tension and arguments at every turn. When the woman agrees sarcastically that the man has never seen white elephants, he says, Just because you say I wouldn t have doesn t prove anything (324). The woman is clearly annoyed at the insensitivity of the man s negative feelings toward her pregnancy. For her, the baby is a priceless treasure, but for him it is a worthless fetus. Time and place are very significant in the story. The author describes where the train is boarded and where it is headed to, but he never tells the reader where the man and woman are at the moment. Hemingway notes that the train stopped at this junction for two minutes and went on to Madrid (324). Baker argues that this limited time symbolizes the time she has to have the abortion (Baker, 145). In all actuality, students in both types of schooling only attend around 180 days. The only difference is that students in year round attend school with different arrangement in breaks. Every time we drive in a vehicle we are using nonrenewable resources that are bad for the environment. Using gasoline or diesel release chemicals called green house gasses into the environment. Because of theses harmful chemicals people have started to use biofuels. There are two types of biofuels, ethanol and biodiesel. Biofuel is Fuel produced from renewable resources, especially plant biomass, vegetable oils, and treated municipal and industrial wastes. Ethanol Ethanol is made from the sugar in grain and plants. It is mostly made from common crops like potato, sugar cane, and corn. It is usually mixed with gasoline to reduce the amount of fossil fuels used by vehicles. The world production of ethanol tripled between 200 and 2007. In 2011 22.36 billion gallons were produced the United States was the top producer with 52.6 liters made.
