The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

1. How effective is the main combination of your final product and ancillary task?
2. In order to create our brand image, we researched a number of ideas from similar trailers to ours, we found that Paranormal Activity 2 was inspirational to us as it is also a supernatural horror genre and follows the same storyline as ours. Throughout this trailer they have used colour grading and low-key lighting, which is reflected throughout their advertising posters. We intended to use this throughout brand image. Another film which uses colour grading through their brand image to be recognised by their audience is The Last Exorcism. The colour grading of red is shown throughout the trailer and posters. In order for us to show the genre clearly through our brand image we decided to use a font that related well to the genre and trailer. We decided to look at example of this on the website “Dafont” and from this we chose a font that stood out. As you can see from the poster and magazine we have followed this font throughout in order for our audience to feel the familiar and we believe that this font definitely shows the horror genre and it connotates blood.
3. The idea of us using the same font for the title and colour throughout our products worked well as it helped our audience recognise the film. The creation of our logo “disturbed”, which incorporates the theme of horror and supernatural works well throughout our products especially on the film poster as it is the thing that stands out the most to our audience. The font creates the image of blood and the idea of someone writing it in their own blood and the colour also reflect and backs up this idea.By incorporating these themes we were able to for fill our idea of targeting our products to our audience.
4. When filming the trailer we focused on the use of props and mise en scene in order to emphasise on the brand image of supernatural. By using costumes such as ‘day to day’ clothing, we were able to convey the idea of ‘normal life’ to our audience but showed a contrast of this by using blood on the ‘possessed’ scenes to show supernatural and the horror genre. When thinking of how to show the idea of supernatural against normal life we though of ways in which we could show something isn’t right. An example of this within our trailer is when the protagonist is sat in the kitchen reading a magazine and the door mysteriously closes. The setting we chose of a big haunted looking house was deliberately chosen to show the idea of the house being haunted and again portraying our brand image to our audience. The use of low-key lighting in most of the trailer was also used deliberately as this sort of lighting is used a lot within horror genres. If I was to chose a company to promote this trailer I would use a British film company. I would use the British Lion Film Corporation as they have been around since 1919 and have produced well over 170 films making them a successful company to use.
