“Planning and resourcing took a bit of work”
 “The rewards for staff were a nice idea”,[object Object]
 “We liked the variety (IWBs not necessarily being the central focus for all of the lesson),[object Object]
In Feb 2010, we said teachers will be saying more of this.... How else could you have done that? Who did that a different way? Which are the tricky bits? What’s tricky about them? What could you do when you are stuck on that? What would have made that easier for you? What else do you know that might help? How could you help someone else do that? How could you make that harder for yourself?
In Feb 2010, we said that students will be saying more of this....  “I feel more involved in the lesson’  “The teacher made it feel as if it was our project, not theirs”  “I like being challenged to come up with my own questions” “It was good making up our own mark scheme as it made us think more about what success should look like” “We knew how to improve and edit our presentation as we were making it”
One year on....so what have we learnt ? Range of IL opportunities Resources e.g. Wikis, course outlines, exam syllabus, assessment criteria, tracking sheets... Scaffolding 4. 	Model, teach and praise the skills 5. 	Variety is important...
Variety?  They like to be enthused Enthused/Inspired ,[object Object]

  • 13. In Feb 2010, we said teachers will be saying more of this.... How else could you have done that? Who did that a different way? Which are the tricky bits? What’s tricky about them? What could you do when you are stuck on that? What would have made that easier for you? What else do you know that might help? How could you help someone else do that? How could you make that harder for yourself?

In Feb 2010, we said that students will be saying more of this.... “I feel more involved in the lesson’ “The teacher made it feel as if it was our project, not theirs” “I like being challenged to come up with my own questions” “It was good making up our own mark scheme as it made us think more about what success should look like” “We knew how to improve and edit our presentation as we were making it”

Continuing to reinforce the skills – 5Rs (model, teach, praise) Students preparing work at home/ own time Greater opportunities for students to work collaboratively in and outside of lessons Scaffolding and support in place to support independent work Greater use of technology to support IL We might not get GOLD?
