Â
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Â
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

2. i. Lathe Introduction
Lathe is a machine, which removes the metal
from a piece of work to the required shape &size
3. Working Principle of a Lathe-
-Workpiece is held in a chuck or between centers and
rotated about its axis at a uniform speed.
-cutting tool held in the tool post is fed into the workpiece
for a desired depth and in the desired direction
-there exists a relative motion between the workpiece
and the cutting tool therefore the material is removed in
the form of chips and the desired shape
is obtained.
8. 1. Speed lathe
a) It is one of the simplest types of
all types all lathes.
b) It is driven by power and
consists of a bed, a headstock, a
tailstock and an adjustable slide
for supporting the tool.
c) Since the tool is fed into the
work by hands and cuts are very
small, therefore this type of lathe is
driven at high speeds usually from
1200 to 3600 r.p.m.
d) The work may be held between
centres or attached to a face plate
on the headstock.
e) The speed lathe is used mainly
for wood working, centering, metal
spinning, polishing etc.
9. 2. Engine or centre lathe.
â˘It is a general purpose
lathe and is widely used
in workshops.
â˘Not production lathe,
found in school shops,
toolrooms, and job
shops
â˘Primarily for single
piece or short runs
â˘Manually operated
â˘The cutting tool may be
led both in cross and
longitudinal direction
with reference to the
lathe axis with the help
of a carriage.
10. 3. Bench lathe.
⢠so small that it can be
mounted on a bench.
⢠All the types of operation
can be performed on this
lathe that may be done
on an ordinary speed or
engine lathe.
⢠used for small work
usually requiring
considerable accuracy
such as in the production
of gauges, punches and
beds for press tools.
11. 4. Tool room lathe.
a) The tool room lathe is similar
to an engine lathe and is
equipped with all accessories
needed for accurate tool work.
b) It has an individually driven
geared headstock with a wide
range of spindle speeds.
c) Since this lathe is used for
precision work on tools, gauges,
dies, jigs and other small parts,
therefore greater skill is needed
to operate the lathe.
12. 5. Capstan and turret
lathe.
a) The capstan and turret
lathes are the modification of
engine lathes and is
particularly used for mass
production of identical parts in
the minimum time.
b) These lathes are semi-
automatic and are fitted with
multi tool holding devices,
called capstan and turret
heads.
c) The advantage of capstan
and turret lathe is that several
different types of operations
can be performed on a
workpiece without resetting of
work or tools.
13. 6. Automatic lathes.
a) The automatic lathe are
so designed that the tools
are automatically fed to
the work and withdrawn
after all the operations are
complete to finish the
work.
b) Since the entire
operation is automatic,
these lathes require little
attention of the operator.
c) These lathes are used
for mass production of
identical parts.
14. 7. Special purpose lathes.
a) The work which cannot be
conveniently accommodated
or machined on a standard
lathe, the special purpose
lathes are used.
b) The Gap bed lathe which
has a removable section in
the bed in front of the
headstock to provide a
space or gap is used to
swing extra large diameter
jobs.
c) The Wheel lathe is made for
finishing the journals and
turning the tread on railroad
car and locomotive wheels.
16. ⢠The height of the centers
measured from the lathe bed.
⢠The swing diameter over bed.
This is the largest diameter of
work that will revolve without
touching the bed and is twice the
height of the centre measured
from the bed of the lathe.
⢠The length between centers.
This is the maximum length of
work that can be mounted
between the lathe centers.
⢠The swing diameter over
carriage. This is the largest
diameter of work that over bed.
⢠The maximum bar diameter. This
is the maximum diameter of bar
stock that will pass through hole
of the headstock spindle.
17. LATHE ACCESSORIES- Used for holding and supporting or
holding the workpiece
⢠1. Centre
⢠2. Chuck
⢠3. Face plate
⢠4. Angle plate
⢠5. Mandrel
⢠6. Rests
⢠7. Carriers
⢠8. Catch plates
⢠9. Collets
18. 1. Centres:
There are two types of
centres ,
1. live centre
2. dead centre.
1. A centre which fits
into the headstock
spindle and
revolves with the
work is called live
centre.
2.The centre which is
used in a tailstock
spindle and does
not revolve is
called dead centre.
19. Lathe Centers
ďŹ Work to be turned between centers must
have center hole drilled in each end
ď Provides bearing surface
ďŹ Support during cutting
ďŹ Most common have
solid Morse taper shank
60Âş centers, steel with carbide tips
ďŹ Care to adjust and lubricate occasionally
20. 2. Chucks:
-used for holding and rotating the
workpiece
-too short workpiece to be held
between centres are clamped in a
chuck
-It is attached to the lathe spindle by
means of two bolts with the back
plate screwed on to the spindle nose
TYPES OF CHUCKS
i) Three jaw universal chuck
/self-centering chuck /scroll
chuck.-is used for holding
round and hexagonal work.
ii) Four jaw independent chuck:
has four reversible jaws, each of
which may be independently
adjusted to accommodate the work it
supports.
It can hold square, round and
irregular shape of work ineither a
concentric or eccentric position.
21. Work Holding Devices
THREE JAWS CHUCK
- For holding cylindrical stock
centered.
- For facing/center drilling the end
of your aluminum stock
FOUR JAWS CHUCK
- This is independent chuck
generally has four jaws , which are
adjusted individually on the chuck
face by means of adjusting screws
22. Three jaw chuck
- For holding
cylindrical stock
centered.
- For facing/center
drilling the end of your
aluminum stock
Four-Jaw Chuck
- This is independent
chuck generally has four
jaws , which are
adjusted individually on
the chuck face by means
of adjusting screws
23. ⢠Thin jobs can be held by means of
magnetic chucks.
Collet Chuck
Magnetic Chuck
Collet chuck is
used to hold small
workpieces
Thin jobs can be
held by means of
magnetic chucks.
24. other types- iii)combination chucks, iv) magnetic chuck,
v) collect chuck, vi) drill chuck
vii) air or hydraulic chuck
25.
26. 3.Lathe dog or carrier:
⢠The work placed on a
mandrel or held
between centres is
rotated positively by
clamping the dog or
carrier to the end of
the work.
This is engaged with a
pin attached to the
drive plate or face
plate.
27. LATHE DOGS
⢠LATHE DOGS ARE CAST METAL DEVICES USED TO PROVIE A
FIRM CONNECTION BETWEEN THE HEADSTOCK SPINDLE
AND THE W/P MOUNTED BETWEEN CENTRES.
Tail
Tail
28.
29. 4.Drive plate
⢠It is a circular plate which
is bored out and threaded
so that it can be attached
to the spindle nose.
⢠It also carries a hole for
the pin which is used only
when the work is held in a
lathe dog having straight
tail. When bent-tail dog is
used, this pin is taken out
and the bent portion of
the tail is inserted into the
hole
30. 5. Faceplate:
⢠It contains more open
slots or T-slots so that
bolts may be used to
clamp the workpiece
to the face of the
plate.
⢠The face plate is used
for holding work
pieces which can not
be conveniently held
in a chuck.
31. FACE PLATES
⢠A LATHE FACE PLATE IS A FLAT ROUND PLATE THAT
THREADS TO THE HEADSTOCK SPINDLE TO THE LATHE.
⢠THE FACEPLATE IS USED FOR IRREGULARLY SHAPED W/P
THAT CANNOT SUCCESFULLY HELD BY CHUCKS.
Workpiece
32. 6. Angle plate:
It is always used with the face
plate for holding such parts
which can not be clamped
against the vertical surface of
the face plate.
