Project & Portfolio 1 Section for my classZaytownTone
The primary goal of this project is to develop a personalized online resume for the purpose of sharing it with potential clients. Throughout the course, I gained valuable insights, particularly in the realm of online presentation and its significant impact on one's credibility within their professional sphere. A noteworthy aspect of the course that resonated with me was the section dedicated to headshots, as it underscored the notion that a picture can convey a multitude of information, akin to a book cover telling a story. The class proved instrumental in enhancing my understanding of the nuances of online presentation, providing clarity on areas that require improvement and guiding me on how to enhance my social media presence accordingly.
This presentation was aimed towards exploring my personal brand. With this, I go into detail about my personal traits and beliefs, as well as my brand position. All my work is done in the name of improving my brand's credibility and online presence.

2. Arena
The arena that I want to work in is as an Artist and Repertoire (AnR) for Pop, R&B, and Hip-
Hop artists at a major recording label such as Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group
or Sony Music.
3. Identity
My name is Lamont Johnson and I was born in
Detroit, MI. I have lived in MI, FL, NY, MO,
HI and TN which has given me the unique
opportunity to experience different cultures
and different musical preferences around
the country. I am an artist, writer, producer,
modest mix engineer and hopeful
entertainment industry professional. What
makes me unique is that I am able to find
and develop talent while also being able to
deliver professionally recorded music.
4. Skills
I am able to properly identify talent that have the potential to reach rockstar status! The talents, skills, and
abilities that I have are exceptional written/verbal communication skills and proven leadership abilities. I
am also digital/technical savvy as I am proficient in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suites, Ableton Live 9, and
ProTools 2018.
5. Profession
What I do is analyze, plan, implement, and review.
My time in the military has helped me to learn how
to influence people by providing purpose,
direction, and motivation while operating to
accomplish the mission and improve the
organization!
6. Credentials
Full Sail University student who specializes
in Entertainment Business. Knowledgeable
in marketing, business marketing, data
analysis and reporting, economics,
business law, statistics, accounting, popular
culture, finance, intellectual property, and
entrepreneurship.
United States Army service member with 7
years of Active Duty experience (half of
which was spent in leadership positions).
Interned at commercial recording studio
(over 1 year) where I learned to setup,
track, mix, and produce professional
quality music.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite,
Ableton Live 9, and ProTools 2018.
7. Promise
The problems that I solve are locating and developing talent to meet their goals as well as the organization.
The reason this is so important is because too many times labels locate an artist who has a hit, but, the
same artist fades out of the light after failing to adapt to the next big sound! I specialize in locating career
artist.
I am able to plan and prepare advertising and promotional materials while assisting with sticking to the
project budget. I promise that if i am on the job we will do our best to never miss a deadline!
8. Positioning
You should hire me over the competition because I
have the experience and wisdom needed to read in
between the lines. I am also proficient in professional
recording music which allows me to deliver the
records needed to compete in the music industry.
One of my competitors is a creative intern A&R,
however, they are not capable of delivering
professional quality music by producing the content
with their artist in studio. I also started off as an artist
which helps me relate to our clients and what they
want to accomplish. My audience will think of me as
the next Rick Rubin.
9. Audience
The employers, clients, and customers that need me are executives at recording labels, fans who want to
purchase music, and musicians who feel they are ready to take their craft to the next level. Who
influences my employers are musicians who have great music and an established fan base. Who
influences my clients are industry experts who care and are knowledgeable in their craft.
Who influences my customers are artist who have great music and content.
The common denominators are great music, talent, and beliefs that are in line with theirs. I can find my
audience at musical festivals, live performances and conferences. The activities that they are engaged
in outside of work include listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying live
shows.
10. Networking & Marketing
I will gain the attention of my future employer, customers, and clients by discovering great talent and
building a fan base that results in generated revenue. I can create a strong relationship with my
audience by giving them great quality music and engage-able content. The type of content that I will
publish online to provide value to my audience is targeted social and streaming content. The industry
events that I will attend are music conferences, live events and networking events that brings out the
best business man, woman and artist within the industry.
11. Competitors
My competitors are students who aim to graduate college between the years of 2020 and 2021. Because
LinkedIn only allows you to view people within your network, this made it very difficult to properly identify
my competitors while using the website. However, they are students who have majored in and attained a
degree in Entertainment or Music Business.
12. Professional Development
What I need to do in order to reach my career goals
are finish school and obtain as much knowledge as
possible on the music and entertainment
businesses.
The skills that I need to improve to stand out from
competitors are having the ability to properly collect
fees, commissions, or other payments (in regard to
music streaming companies), and negotiate with
managers, promoters, union officials and other
persons regarding clients.
The type of mentor or coach that I seek to help me
me develop professionally is someone in a
leadership position at a major recording label. They
are also a “peoples person” whom care about the
well being of others.
The amount of time that I need to develop these
skills is approximately 2-5 months.
13. Goals
By developing my personal brand, I want to achieve the goal of standing out from my peers. In the music
industry, having your “own sound” is key to being successful; by developing my personal brand, that is
considered my “own sound”. I am seeking to grow my brand awareness and improve my professional
image. My purpose for my personal branding endeavors is to separate myself from the “noise” within the
world.
1.) I will grow my Instagram followers by 50% by 31 December 2021.
2.) I will expand my network of mentors from 0 to 3 by 31 December 2021.
3.) I will increase my LinkedIn connections by 20% by 31 December 2021.
