My name is Joshua A. Milan. I’m an independent
recording producer, singer/songwriter. I grew up
in Brooklyn, NY in the 70’s when the music
industry was mainly about talented singers and
songwriters.
 

Since then, the focal point of the industry has
changed drastically, however, I’m a believer that
talent has a major place in the industry. In 2010,
I started a record label that focuses on talented
artist rather than marketability. We’ve enjoyed a
successful 11 years of doing business. With 3
Grammy nominations under my belt, I’m looking
to grow the company with the assistance of a
major label.

Royalty/Guy Next Door - As with Royalty Archetypes would have it, I
like to present my business and myself in a way that is impressive. I feel
that success is an energy. That energy will show itself through my
professionalism. It demands respect from clients.

Royalty and guy next door brand archetypes, to me, feel like polar
opposites. However, my approach to clients and co-workers is very
family oriented, and team based. I like the idea of working with my team
as I lead. Guy next door brand archetype include people that are
approachable, and friendly. Someone you feel you can trust. Those
characteristics are very important to me because my company’s success
depends on my relationships with the staff. They need to know that they
can trust and depend on me to properly oversee the progress of the
company so they can in turn be inspired to perform better. Staff
commitment is the direct result of quality leadership.

know. I’ve been around long enough to procure relationships
with industry leaders that know Sylvia Rhone personally. I’d
use my relationships to get in contact with her personally.

much rather try to land a meeting with him through a
mutual associate.
 

• After initial contact, I’d give him 30 days to respond.

• Upgrade my website with enhanced graphic designs

‣ This would be a matter of discussing content with my partner,
and deciding what company or graphic design artist we’d use to
design our page. Content would take most of the time. We’d
start with content we own.

KPI: Upgraded website in 30 days
.

Mid Term
:

• At my label, we’ve produced 4 releases last year. All of which have
charted number 1 in sales. We want to double that number this year. We
have a budget to work with this year which will allow us to get a lot more
done and quicker. The idea is to build our catalogue with as many
charting songs as possible. My goal is to double the releases for this
year. We have an advantage that we didn’t have last year. And we have
the songs. That’s put’s us way ahead of schedule.
 

‣ KPI: I’d like to produce 40 charting releases by 2027
.

Long Term:
 

• I run a record label with a partner. We’ve enjoyed 11 successful years of
developing artist and songs that feature soulful dance music. Our goal is
to become a subsidiary label for a major label. We would then run our
label under the umbrella of a major label such as Universal Music Group.
The long term goal is to sell the company and work as co- presidents for
the label
.

• Primary Content: My content will feature working recording artist in the
studio, on stage, and the like. Our label features skilled musicians. Our

• Primary Tools: I have two Internet radio shows, and one with 12 million
listeners on average. I’m active on 2 of my social pages, while I have a
team to post on group and fan pages.

I will do most of my marketing on my pages and our website at this stage
of my career. When our budget can handle it, we will look into
outsourcing for help with our social presence

• Website: My digital portfolio is something I’ll go over with a graphic artist.
I’d need the artist to make my portfolio appear as a visual journey into
where I’ve been and where I’m headed.

• What type of mentor will you seek as you embark on your career path? What I’d like
in a mentor is someone I can relate to. Someone with similar experiences I’ve had
in the industry.

• Currently attending Fullsail University for a Bachelors

• I will use a graphic designer to help with making my website come
alive. I need an upgrade by December 202

• My online presence is low in my opinion. I need a photo shoot
twice a year. I will schedule a shoot with Mario Romay
Photography Studios in Chicago for April 2022, and August 2022.
This will give me new content to exploit after April

Soft Skills
• LinkedIn Learning offers a class in leadership that I will take. I
think I’m pretty good at leading, however, there’s so much I
can learn. I will have taken that class by December of 2022.
• I could certainly use help with critical thinking. LinkedIn offers a
class they’re calling “Value Investment Philosophy and
Practice **** a free master class on critical thinking. That class
I will have taken to just to sharpen myself up in that area. This
class will be completed by December 2022.

dance music’s place on charts around the world, one record at a time. In

  • 2. My name is Joshua A. Milan. I’m an independent recording producer, singer/songwriter. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY in the 70’s when the music industry was mainly about talented singers and songwriters. Since then, the focal point of the industry has changed drastically, however, I’m a believer that talent has a major place in the industry. In 2010, I started a record label that focuses on talented artist rather than marketability. We’ve enjoyed a successful 11 years of doing business. With 3 Grammy nominations under my belt, I’m looking to grow the company with the assistance of a major label. IDENTITY Picture of You Goes Here

I feel that success is an energy. That energy will show itself through my professionalism. It demands respect from clients.
 Royalty and guy next door brand archetypes, to me, feel like polar opposites. However, my approach to clients and co-workers is very family oriented, and team based. I like the idea of working with my team as I lead. Guy next door brand archetype include people that are approachable, and friendly. Someone you feel you can trust. Those characteristics are very important to me because my company’s success depends on my relationships with the staff. They need to know that they can trust and depend on me to properly oversee the progress of the company so they can in turn be inspired to perform better.   • 4. Major Record Label CEO’s TARGET AUDIENCE Sylvia Rhone Outreach Plan : • I will certainly prepare my portfolio with hard facts about my successes in the industry. I want her to see that my experience supersedes many in this industry with 30+ active years in the industry . • In the music industry, unfortunately, a lot of it is about who you know. I’ve been around long enough to procure relationships with industry leaders that know Sylvia Rhone personally. I’d use my relationships to get in contact with her personally. • I’d give her 30 days to get in contact with me, and then I’d send a follow up email. PROFILE PICTURE CEO at Epic Records John Janick Outreach Plan : • I’d prepare all of my visual presentations to point towards what I want from him . • I would rely on my sources in California to assist me in getting a lunch date with Mr. Janick. • I think 30 days is an appropriate time to allow him to respond. PROFILE PICTURE CEO at Interscope Records Rob Stringer Outreach Plan : • For Mr. Stringer I’d do my video presentations quick and to the point of what I can offer and what I expect from the company . • I’m always one to try to engage with people personally, I don’t know anyone that knows Mr. Stringer, but I’d much rather try to land a meeting with him through a mutual associate. • After initial contact, I’d give him 30 days to respond.   • 5. GOALS Short Term : • Upgrade my website with enhanced graphic designs . ‣ This would be a matter of discussing content with my partner, and deciding what company or graphic design artist we’d use to design our page. Content would take most of the time. We’d start with content we own.
 KPI: Upgraded website in 30 days . Mid Term : • At my label, we’ve produced 4 releases last year. All of which have charted number 1 in sales. We want to double that number this year. We have a budget to work with this year which will allow us to get a lot more done and quicker. The idea is to build our catalogue with as many charting songs as possible. My goal is to double the releases for this year. We have an advantage that we didn’t have last year. And we have the songs. That’s put’s us way ahead of schedule. ‣ KPI: I’d like to produce 40 charting releases by 2027 . Long Term: • I run a record label with a partner. We’ve enjoyed 11 successful years of developing artist and songs that feature soulful dance music. Our goal is to become a subsidiary label for a major label. We would then run our label under the umbrella of a major label such as Universal Music Group. The long term goal is to sell the company and work as co- presidents for the label . ‣ KPI: Established our label as a subsidiary label for a major label by the end of 2030.

They should be Full Time musicians, committed to the art.They should have established a way of living through their art form alone.I will have established this relationship by June of 2022. Formal Education • Currently attending Fullsail University for a Bachelors degree in Music Business. Graduation is Oct 2023. Technical Skills • I will use a graphic designer to help with making my website come alive. I need an upgrade by December 202 2 • My online presence is low in my opinion. I need a photo shoot twice a year. I will schedule a shoot with Mario Romay Photography Studios in Chicago for April 2022, and August 2022. This will give me new content to exploit after April . Soft Skills • LinkedIn Learning offers a class in leadership that I will take. I think I’m pretty good at leading, however, there’s so much I can learn. I will have taken that class by December of 2022. • I could certainly use help with critical thinking. LinkedIn offers a class they’re calling “Value Investment Philosophy and Practice **** a free master class on critical thinking. That class I will have taken to just to sharpen myself up in that area. This class will be completed by December 2022.
