This document provides an overview and training objectives for familiarizing members of Ladder 37 with the controls and operation of the reserve ladder truck. The summary includes hands-on practice and drills to ensure familiarity with cab controls, setting up and operating the aerial ladder, waterway and generator, and completing ladder placement scenarios within timed drills. Certification requires successful completion of the training presentation and drills.

1. Ladder 37 Familiarization

2. Goal
• To acquaint our members with the controls
and operation of reserve Ladder 37. After
successfully completing this training, and the
provided handouts, members will be certified
to operate Ladder 37.

3. Objectives
• Through presentation and hands-on practice,
the Firefighter will become familiar with the
control layout and operation on Ladder 37.
• Given different scenarios, the Firefighter will
gain familiarity with the operation of Ladder
37 by successfully completing a series of
operational sets.

• Given a scenario handout, and working as a
team, the shift will complete a ladder pipe
scenario in 5 minutes or less.
• Through presentation and hands-on practice,
the Firefighter will become familiar with, and
operate the auxiliary equipment and power
tools on Ladder 37.
