Set induction
(5 minutes) Some possible questions that will be ask:
 How you celebrate any festivals?
 What kind festivals you celebrate?
 What other festivals in Malaysia that you know?
1. Teacher asks pupils about festivals.
2. Introduce the topic to the pupils.
3. Asks the pupils to open their texts
book.
Materials:
 Texts book
Presentation
(5 minutes) 1. Read the non-fiction texts. 1. Teacher asks the pupils to read the
texts in the texts book.
2. Teacher also may explain the texts
and some difficult words to the
pupils during the explanations.
Materials:

book page 97.
Practice
(10 minutes) 1. Fill in the table activity 1. Teacher paste some categories based
from the texts at the board.
2. Based on the texts that they had read,
teacher asks the pupils to paste some
word cards at the correct category.
3. Teacher will call out a pupil to the front
to paste the word card correctly.

(5 minutes)
Answering the worksheet. 1. Teacher spread the worksheet to
the pupils.
2. Teacher explains the worksheet to
the pupils.
3. Teacher monitors and guide pupils
while they are doing the worksheet.
4. Teacher discusses the answer with
the pupils.

(5 minutes) Conclusion 1. Teacher revises on what the pupils
had learnt today.

English Year 4 Lesson Plan Date : 22 July 2017 Subject : English Language Class : 4 Arif Day : Tuesday Time : 10.45am – 11.15am Enrolment : 29 students Level : Moderate Language Proficiency Theme : World of Knowledge Topic : Unity in Diversity Focused skill : Reading Integrated skill : Writing
  • 2. ‘ Learning standards : 2.3.1 Able to read information and enjoyment with guidance: (b) non-fiction Learning objectives : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to a) Read independently for information and enjoyment. b) Understand to non-fiction texts in a variety of contexts. Educational emphases : CCTS - answering Wh-Questions Moral values - We must appreciate the uniqueness of festive season in our country. - .we also must love our country. Multiple intelligences - Interpersonal intelligence, linguistic intelligence Language content : Vocabulary - Description of different festivals in Malaysia. Steps/ Time Content Teaching and Learning Strategies Remarks Set induction (5 minutes) Some possible questions that will be ask:  How you celebrate any festivals?  What kind festivals you celebrate?  What other festivals in Malaysia that you know? 1. Teacher asks pupils about festivals. 2. Introduce the topic to the pupils. 3. Asks the pupils to open their texts book. Materials:  Texts book
  • 3. Presentation (5 minutes) 1. Read the non-fiction texts. 1. Teacher asks the pupils to read the texts in the texts book. 2. Teacher also may explain the texts and some difficult words to the pupils during the explanations. Materials: 1. Text book Refer to the texts book page 97. Practice (10 minutes) 1. Fill in the table activity 1. Teacher paste some categories based from the texts at the board. 2. Based on the texts that they had read, teacher asks the pupils to paste some word cards at the correct category. 3. Teacher will call out a pupil to the front to paste the word card correctly. Material: 1. Word cards Refer to Appendix A Production (5 minutes) Answering the worksheet. 1. Teacher spread the worksheet to the pupils. 2. Teacher explains the worksheet to the pupils. 3. Teacher monitors and guide pupils while they are doing the worksheet. 4. Teacher discusses the answer with the pupils. Material: 1. worksheet Shown in Appendix B Closure (5 minutes) Conclusion 1. Teacher revises on what the pupils had learnt today. 2. Teacher revises on festivals and difficult words.
