1. The Layout
The writing is all on the left page and a photograph is placed over the whole right page, this is
a very simple layout but can also be quite effective. The reader’s eye will be hooked to the
image straight away which will make them want to read all the information on Katy Perry.
Though the idea that the writing is in small print and there is a lot to read can be off putting as
people may not be bothered to read it all as it looks like a lot there, if they had cut it up more
into different sections then this could maybe be more effective. Though the image can be a
good idea having it all on one page as it can also be used as a poster, and the bigger the
image, the more it gets your attention.
The Image
The image is of Katy Perry wearing very little clothing in a kitchen, this is to appeal to men
because of the portrayed sexy woman doing the stereotyped work of a woman in this kitchen
but with an attractive twist. Katy Perry is a very popular artist so it will attract the audience of
all of her fans to read the article on her.
The Content
There is writing in the middle of the article which is bigger than the rest, this is to grab the
reader’s attention onto that bit, and if they are interested in that then this makes them want to
read more about it. The main line is ‘Underneath her brassiness’ which relates to the picture.
I think that this is a good
spread but could be set out
in an easy way to read.
