A section of an under-construction flyover collapsed in Kolkata, India, killing at least 21 people and injuring over 60. A 100-meter section of the Vivekananda Flyover crashed down onto a crowded street, crushing pedestrians, cars, and other vehicles under concrete slabs and metal. The construction company, IVRCL, blamed the disaster on an "act of God" while the Chief Minister announced stringent action would be taken against the company for the collapse.
