KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER BETWEEN
PROJECTS
So, whats actually the problem is? We all know that when organizations fail to meet its
knowledge requirements within the organizations then it will buy the knowledge means
hire the contractors from external sources. They will hire the people with the more
diverse skills but for a limited period of time for specific projects only. Sometimes, a
project team often includes members who have never worked together in the past and
do not expect to work again in the future. In these circumstances, effective knowledge
management is complex.
Mostly enterprises hire temporary contractors and face a risk of losing expertise. the
knowledge is created in one project and then misplace, once the expertise walk out of
the door. We forget the knowledge, we lose the expertise once the project is done. In
this situation Organizations need to find out a way to keep the knowledge within the
organization.
And one of the ways to solve this problem is knowledge transfer between the projects.
Knowledge transfer
Re-use Of Knowledge From Similar Projects Into New Projects
It is basically a practice of learning from current and past project experiences to improve
future projects. The emphasis is on capturing experiences so others can learn from it.
In second case we won’t talk about contractors, we will talk about current employees,
who are working in the organization. As an employee you know you can get the
knowledge and experience from the
 Documented records of the organization.
 And you can observe your senior employees and their working processes, like
how they are doing their work in order to learn from them.
But what if your valuable/competent employee leaves the organization, what if there’s
no documentation of his work, that’s why there’s need to transfer the knowledge
between the projects, whatever you have done in a given project, do transfer the
knowledge, share your experience either through the communication or in the written
format.
And why we should do? to avoid “reinventing the wheel” means find the solution of the
same problem again. If you have experienced the same situation in the past then why
you are doing all the things from starting, why you are reinventing the wheel. You
should transfer the knowledge; you should keep the records in your organization.
We have a example of checklist here in which you Record What, when and how You
Did something. Checklist gives you the opportunity to see what works well in which
situation. List down all the important factors that should be considered in the future
projects.
So don’t waste your time in trying to remember the things, just follow the list.

  • 1. KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER BETWEEN PROJECTS So, whats actually the problem is? We all know that when organizations fail to meet its knowledge requirements within the organizations then it will buy the knowledge means hire the contractors from external sources. They will hire the people with the more diverse skills but for a limited period of time for specific projects only. Sometimes, a project team often includes members who have never worked together in the past and do not expect to work again in the future. In these circumstances, effective knowledge management is complex. Mostly enterprises hire temporary contractors and face a risk of losing expertise. the knowledge is created in one project and then misplace, once the expertise walk out of the door. We forget the knowledge, we lose the expertise once the project is done. In this situation Organizations need to find out a way to keep the knowledge within the organization. And one of the ways to solve this problem is knowledge transfer between the projects. Knowledge transfer Re-use Of Knowledge From Similar Projects Into New Projects It is basically a practice of learning from current and past project experiences to improve future projects. The emphasis is on capturing experiences so others can learn from it. In second case we won’t talk about contractors, we will talk about current employees, who are working in the organization. As an employee you know you can get the knowledge and experience from the  Documented records of the organization.  And you can observe your senior employees and their working processes, like how they are doing their work in order to learn from them. But what if your valuable/competent employee leaves the organization, what if there’s no documentation of his work, that’s why there’s need to transfer the knowledge between the projects, whatever you have done in a given project, do transfer the knowledge, share your experience either through the communication or in the written format. And why we should do? to avoid “reinventing the wheel” means find the solution of the same problem again. If you have experienced the same situation in the past then why
  • 2. you are doing all the things from starting, why you are reinventing the wheel. You should transfer the knowledge; you should keep the records in your organization. We have a example of checklist here in which you Record What, when and how You Did something. Checklist gives you the opportunity to see what works well in which situation. List down all the important factors that should be considered in the future projects. So don’t waste your time in trying to remember the things, just follow the list.
