and my Grandmother was in a nursing home with stage III Lymphoma. The nursing
home was near where I worked and so at lunch time a couple times of week I
would go and read to her. At the time, I didn t focus on the wonderful people taking
care of her, however I remember friends and family coming to see my Grandmother
and they would talk very loudly to her and some times she wouldn t even respond.
Whereas, I and the nurses could sit right next to her bed and in a normal voice
have a conversation with her and she never had trouble hearing us. During these
discussions she would express to the nurses how wonderful they were and what a
noble thing they were doing by helping take care of people in need. She always told
me that the two most important professions were nurses and teachers. This
experience taught me that my most important goal is to always treat people as a
whole person not just a disease or condition. To take the time to listen and understand

Scientists have found 2500 year old charred remains of honeycombs along with
other artifacts in Milan, Italy at the town trade center. The honeycombs were made

Within Cormac McCarthy s Blood Meridian lies a chaotic, lawless wasteland
corrupted with violence and nihilism. This violence and nihilism, however, is not
limited to just to the landscape, but to its inhabitants as well, transforming them into
merciless killers with no regard for the fragility that comes along with being human.
Throughout Blood Meridian, Cormac McCarthyprovides an image of the American
Southwest during the 1850s, one that is of savagery and lawlessness. The entirety
of the plot focuses on the kid , viewed as the main protagonist throughout the book,

This current news article talks about how poverty is one of the main reasons for a
mysterious disease that citizens from Africa have been reporting for nearly a
century. This disease called Konzo causes permanent paralysis on whoever
consumes a crop named cassava. Hans Rosling, an epidemiologist and pop star
statistician, who died of pancreatic cancer earlier this month was the first person
who found the cause Konzo disease back in 1990. However, he also argues that a
secondary reason for this disease is the lifestyle and social class of many members
