Understanding William Wordsworth s Imagination
The Romantic Movement of literature in England sparked a rapid change in the
common themes of writings produced by the nation s most renowned authors and
poets. Writers often explored more subjective topics such as the effect of nature on
the individual rather than the chemistry of the mind, a topic of greater importance to
philosophers of the Enlightenment. Onto the open stage of this newly flourishing
literary movement stepped William Wordsworth, at that time only a young man in
his twenties or thirties. Wordsworth would soon become a highly influential poet
in this literary era as well as during several political eras that occurred in his
lifetime both in England and the rest of Europe. His presence during such a lengthy
period of rapid change both in literature and other aspects of society made
Wordsworth more than just a great composer of verse. While his poems retain their
value as great reads to this day, Wordsworth serves as a portal into the thoughts of
people living in his time period. The subject matter of his poetry reveals what issues
held the most importance for writers and other citizens of England at the time and the
way in which contemporary politics may have affected writers including Wordsworth.

I. Definition
The concept of tax expenditure was created in 1967 since Stanly S. Surrey, former
Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, noticed that many tax preferences were
accomplished through federal spending.1 Tax expenditures are defined under the
Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 as revenue losses
attributable to Federal tax laws which allow a special exclusion exception, or
deduction or which provide a special credit, a preferential rate of tax, or a deferral
of tax liability. 2 Exclusions, deductions, credits and other tax preferences are

Under current law, taxpayers can reduce their tax liability by excluding certain types
of income from gross income, deduction certain amount of taxes from AGI, and
claiming itemized deductions or a standard deduction. Under Sec. 61, gross income

legitimately excluded from gross income, including interest on State or local bonds,
amounts paid by employers and

The Veldt by Ray Bradbury focuses on the unintended consequences of parents letting
their two children have unregulated use of technology. Bradbury conveys tone
through imagery, diction, similes, and sentence structure. In this story, Bradbury
repeats a set of sentences. He writes a long, smooth, flowing sentence followed by a
series of short, choppy sentences. The long sentence draws the reader into an African
scene, while the short sentences, such as the lions came running at them , abruptly
ends the fantasy and makes the danger of the situation feel quite real (Bradbury).
This creates a tone shift from calm with a sense of amazement to anxious and
fearful. Diction also plays a large role in creating a more dramatic tone shift. Bradbury

Lupe Algarin is a very interesting person In the setting of lupe s house she says that

her poem (page 38) she is saying through the poem that she would be better of with

because she thought about a type of setting of if she would have a baby.
Like what she said on (page 65) she says I mean, I hardly ever see him anyways. Plus,
I ve been thinking if I m ever going to have a baby, I need to find a better father than
Marco somebody who gots time for me, at least.
Other people that know Lupe Algarin may not know that she is facing internal and
external conflict because because she believes that she does not belong inside the
house that she lives in and the internal conflict about that is she believes it and she
doesn t try to face it at it s source so she is trying to resolve the problem by thinking
that she doesn t belong in her own house what makes it an internal conflict but it is
an external conflict at the same time but just a different part of the problem is her
step dad and he is an outside force known as an external conflict and he is causing
the conflict because she believes that he doesn t care about any of the kids accept

As a result of urbanization and population growth, how urban areas and planned and
orientated towards climate change adaptation and mitigation is becoming more
important. As urban areas accommodate more and more people in increasingly higher

Both modern conservatism and liberalism are exceptionally reasonable ideologies.
The classic liberalism of Adam Smith and classic conservatism of Edmund Burke and

Throughout Martin Luther King Jr s. speech, he uses violence as a form of getting
his perspective and view across to his audience. King uses violence in order to
persuade the audience for other reasons differing from Barack Obama s view on

better. King uses words like brutalized and murdered to convince and persuade the
audience into having a different view on why violence isn t okay while Obama uses
his view on violence to persuade his audience in a different manner. Barack Obama
brings up the fact that non violence would not have put a stop to Hitler s armies
just like negotiation between the U.S. and al Qaeda s leaders wouldn t have made
them put their arms down and act any differently (pg.6). Barack Obama is trying to

Depleting nature of the conventional energy sources and increasing cost of electrical
energy are forcing mankind to look for possible modifications in the existing systems
towards lower energy consumption without sacrificing the purpose for which it is

various food products is one such system which accounts for the substantial part of

Private Preschool Development My observation of a private preschool taught me
that teaching kids appropriately is essential to a child s development. Being a
teacher is a very important position in society. A preschool teacher has a
responsibility to teach young kids to become adults that will be this society s future.
It is important to have proper emotional support within a classroom to develop good
relationship between children and teachers, and create a fun learning experience.
Teachers need to understand what is developmentally appropriate to educate their
students in a way that they will flourish cognitively, emotionally, and socially. On
October 30th, I had the chance to analyze a KinderCare in Rocklin. In that
observation I learned what a private preschool classrooms quality looks like
compared to a public preschools quality. When I walked into the KinderCare
classroom I noticed a contrast to the public schoolright away. The classroom smelled
very bad. According to professor Michelle Boucher a preschool should be kept
smelling very good, because as the children grow up they will always remember
the smell of their classroom. Teachers that exercise positive climate will keep their
classroom well attained, both emotionally and spatially. Looking at the atmosphere
of the classroom helps determine the quality of the school. My first impression did
not show great quality. As I waked into the class the classroom all the kids ran up
to me. They were very talkative and very interested in me.That made me think that
they don t have many visitors. I analyzed that the teachers are understaffed. The
classroom is a one to twelve ratio. The kids simply do not have enough attention for
their age. The ratio is compared to the ratio in Montessori school. Their ideal is one
adult per twelve kids, as in the Kindercare I observed. According to my analysis of
the public and private schools, the more teachers the kids get the better it is for the
child s successful education. The private schooldid not have enough teachers to give
proper attention to the children. Some kids didn t even get help when they cried for
