This document discusses notation guidelines for online proctoring sessions. It outlines different types of notations for precheck, security concerns, and item verification situations. Examples are provided for complete and incomplete precheck notations. Guidance is given on including details about phone placement, clutter, additional behaviors addressed, approved test aids, unidentified objects, and environmental information in notations. Activities are included to practice writing notations for different sample situations.

3. INTRODUCTION
Notations play a great role in every
session that we handle. Some may
need specific environmental
descriptions based on what they are
escalated for and some needs a simple
'Precheck Complete' to indicate that
we have conducted a verification
process for the candidate.
Let's meet them one by one.

6. COMPLETE PRECHECK
PREFACE NOTATION : Precheck Complete
The precheck steps that should be done is listed in
the ADA Description that is set depending on the
Test Sponsor. These may include (but not limited
to) ID, PAN, SSTA, TAV, and Bathroom Breaks.
Here is an example on how the notations may look
like:
Precheck Complete - Audio/Glasses verified. Phone
was removed from the area. Window looking outside
to candidate's right, window to hallway on left. No
immediate items near the candidate

7. INCOMPLETE PRECHECK
PREFACE NOTATION : Precheck Incomplete
The precheck verification was not done due to
technical issues or environment security concerns.
We are to notate what has been verified as a guide
to the next agent who will handle the session.
Here is an example on how the notations may look
like:
Precheck Incomplete - ID verified. Video dropped
during panning. Advised to exit and relaunch.

8. We need to verify and see where they have
placed their phone if it was used or seen
during precheck. It needs to be included in
the notations as well as guidance for the
proctor that will observe the session.
We need to indicate where the clutter is in
relation to the candidate's testing surface.
(Is it within reach? Are there any items that
can disrupt the security and integrity of the
examination?)

9. We need to include in our notations what
behavior that we have addressed (such as
leaning out of view, talking, etc. ) and/or
objects that could be concerning

10. Approved test aids are the items that needs
to be verified and is approved of usage by
the candidate's test sponsor.
These are objects that needs to be verified
to ensure the security and protect the
exam information.

11. Leaving detailed information about the
environment that is useful for the whole
duration of the examination. This will help
the proctor observe the session if the
candidate would display suspicious
behavior.
It also answers to questions (but not
limited to) :
Where is the candidate sitting? Are there
multiple points of entry to the room? Are
there pets or children in the area? Are they
in a public area?
