The Khajuraho temples are located in Madhya Pradesh, India and were built between 950-1050 AD during the Chandela dynasty. Originally there were 85 temples, but only 22 remain today. The temples follow the Nagara style of North Indian architecture and are known for their elaborate carvings, including both religious sculptures and erotic artwork. The largest and most ornate is the Kandariya Mahadeva temple, standing over 100 feet tall with intricate stonework covering its walls and pillars.
