Count Dominic Sinclair s The Assassination Of The King
Count Dominic Sinclair the Third was the name that he was going by in the court these days, letting
people think that he was his own grandson so that he could of course continue to enjoy the title and
the positions that he was often appointed too.
A hundred years ago he had been gifted the title of course along with some lands and a great deal
of wealth by the King when he had returned as the only survivor of a battle that he had won for the
kingdom.
Sixty years later he spent three decades as the assassin of the king who followed, ensuring that his
political enemies were removed from any position they could be a threat at the point of a blade or
with a cord around their neck.
Now he had returned thirty years later, this time to work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Something had reached out to him, a old and forgotten god that had long been discarded by
humanity, its final temple had once stood in that very field but eventually had broken down by
the elements. Ma al offered Dominic a chance to survive, not only to just live but to thrive for
eternity so long as he was willing to give it what it desired... Dominic was a talented killer and
the god wanted someone who would kill for him, so long as Dominic did this he would not only
live but he would thrive with the blessings of a god. He limped home over the course of several
weeks, killing as he went, regaining his strength, until he eventually stood in the court and was
offered rewards for his hard work.
A little less then a month he had been employed to teach the young prince how to defend himself
with sword, spear, and anything else he might have close at hand should something go wrong.
Of course he wasn t just here to serve as a weapons master to the heir... he wanted to kill a
member of the royal family. For over a hundred years he had served them and now he grew tired
of murdering peasants, whores, and minor members of the court... he wanted to kill the prince but
he wanted the prince the be able to defend himself so it will at least be

Ns The National Security Agency
USA Today confirms: the National Security Agency has been secretly collecting the phone call
records of tens of millions of Americans, using data provided by AT T, Verizon and BellSouth.
With access to records of billions of domestic calls, the NSA has gained a secret window into the
communications habits of millions of Americans. (Opsahl 28 Sep. 2013) It s no secret that the U.S.
government agency known as the NSA, National Security Agency, has been monitoring phone calls
and Internet usage of United Statescitizens since the early 2000 s during George W. Bush s time
in office. During his presidency, Bush authorized the motorization of millions of citizen s phone
calls. (Tebbutt 25 Sep. 2013) The NSA created a secret program called The Highlander Program
which was designed to monitor satellite phone transmissions on the Inmarsat network in the
Middle East. During this secret program, the NSA did not monitor any United States citizens.
Bush claimed the surveillance was limited to the al Qaeda, but that simply was not the case.
(Forgang 27 Sep. 2013) Does the United States government have the right to listen in on civilian
s phone calls regardless of the reason? As seen in the media, most citizens don t want the NSA to
be listening in on their calls and other forms of communication. In Samuel Greengard s magazine
article, Spies Among Us, he explains, The boundary between protection and privacy has always
been fuzzy. (Greengard 27 Sep. 2013) The point he is offering is

The Influence Of Tax Credits
The Influence of Tax Credits The impetus behind the tax credits appears to be two fold. As
taxpayers work to improve energy efficiency, decreasing usage, and lessening the environmental
impact of their daily activities, they may receive financial rewards based on their actions. The
offer of tax credits is an attempt to achieve a certain behavior from the consumer. However, two
important things must take place before the consumer takes action. First, the consumer must be
aware that a tax credit is available. Sales are highly publicized, but publicity relating to tax
credits is limited. Once the consumer is made aware of a tax credit, they must view the tax
credit as a reduction in price, but a tax credit is much more complicated with several caveats.
Environmental tax credits offered by various levels of government are extremely popular with
both the governing bodies and those who benefit from the credits. Government is seen as taking a
positive step not only towards improving the environment, but reducing the United States
dependency on fuel from other countries which in turn allows for greater security. Tax credits
allow the individual or business to decide how to spend their money and the financial benefit of
a particular behavior. The financial benefit may be in the form of reduced operating costs or
taxes. However a closer look at eco friendly tax credits for the individual consumer points to a
class discrepancy. These tax credits require an initial and

Plagiarism And The Consequences Of Plagiarism
In this paper we will cover plagiarism. We will cover a brief history of plagiarism and look at the
different types of plagiarism, as well as compare and contrast the different types. We will also
look at who is most prone to plagiarize and why. We will also discuss the role plagiarism plays in
academia and the consequences to plagiarizing. Webster s online Dictionary defines plagiarismas to
steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one s own: use (another s production) without
crediting the source [... or] to commit literary theft: present as new and original an idea or
product derived from an existing source. Many people believe that plagiarism is a relatively
new concept that came about as technology became more and more accessible, however this is
not the case. It is said that Shakespeare s plays are not his own work. Shakespeare traveled to
different regions and heard folk tales and stories from the people that lived in these areas and
wrote down what the people were saying and wrote it in play form. He tweaked the stories so
that they may be relatable to the English men and women that would attend his plays. Even
though Shakespeare s works are not his own, he is one of, if not the most recognized playwright
in the history of play writers. According to Turnitin.com there are 10 different types of plagiarism.
These 10 types of plagiarism are: clone, hybrid, ctrl c, mashup, find replace, 404 error, remix,
aggregator, recycle, and re tweet. Cloning is

Rhode Island Hospital Meeting Summary
On December 8, 2015 I attended a meeting at Rhode Island Hospital with Lou Sperling,
Matthew Taibi and Matthew Maini concerning the Trustees resolution to develop a RFP for EAP
Services. The meeting convened at 9:05am. Lou indicated the RIH has conducted two (2) RFP s
for similar services and wound up sticking with the same provider, Coastline EAP. Matt Taibi
proposed combining EAP services with the broader responsibilities of a member advocate, who
would have Social Work skills. Matt Maini agreed. The Trustees agreed the duties would be
regional in scope rather than limited to Rhode Island. Lou indicated that the RIHEAP Program
goes well beyond substance abuse, and Mr. Taibi agreed that that is what he has in mind for HSIP.
He indicated at a staff level, HSIP could still have an individual whose duties would include EAP
referrals.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lou indicated that EAP companies usually have a per member cost, or might be persuaded to
have a monthly fee. He suggested that the RFP request various pricing structures. Lou also
suggested that the EAP request results and levels of success. Matt Taibi asked that the RFP
included information about responses to advertising and self admissions. Lou indicated the
EAP should ask for the specific process for referrals and the results of the referrals. Lou indicated
that he would try to get the RIH RFP s for the Fund to use as a model. Mr. Maini indicated that
the primary goal would be to improve and broaden the program and also reduce costs if possible.
Mr. Maini added that UPS has its own EAP referral system which is stricter than the HSIP

The author states that children who are immunized are less healthy in general than non immunized
children.
One of the strengths of this article is that the author encourages research before making a decision
in regards to immunization.
There are a number of weaknesses to discuss, the validity of the research is questionable, (due to
further research, contradicting her claims. ) The statement made about Japanese immunization was
found to be incorrect.
Some of the authors information is generalized such as statements like I have NEVER met a fully
vaccinated child that is healthier and more robust than a well nourished, unvaccinated child.
A lot of the statements made are based on her own beliefs and are not backed up by facts and
figures. Someday there will be a study that shows that unvaccinated children have many less health
problems than their vaccinated peers. Don t wait until this study is finally done because it will be
too late for your child. Is an example of this kind of statement.
The article seemed biased and did not base statements on facts and research or any scientific proof.

Analysis Of Theodore Roethke Root Cellar
In Theodore Roethke Root Cellar , there is a heavy use of vivid and stylistic imagery. In the first
line, the speaker states, Nothing would sleep in that cellar, dank as a ditch. We are given that
something is refusing to sleep that is, to die and at the same time being dank gets us thinking
about things that are undead . In line two, the speaker states, Bulbs broke out of boxes hunting
for chinks in the dark. This tells us that things are still growing and they are looking for the light.
In the next following line the speaker mentions, Shoots dangled and dropped (3). This gives us
the image of the shoots coming out of the bulbs. The shoots dangle and droop towards whatever
light possible. In line four, the speaker gives us an idea of the type of housing they are in,
mildewed crates. The moisture creates mold and mildew. It also creates prettier life like plants.
As you can see, mold and mildew are life, and they grow alongside the plants. In line six, the
speaker brings us a smell by saying congress. Roethke must mean just the coming together or
gathering of smells. In line seven, the speaker give us another sense of smell, Roots ripe as old
bait, pulpy stems, rank, silo rich, leaf mold, manure, lime, piled against slippery planks. He gives
us this image and the sense of smell of mold and rot to show it is still life. These words for
example would be ripe, pulpy, rank, and rich. The last two lines, Nothing would give up life: Even
the dirt kept breathing

Negative Effects Of Technology On Cell Phones
With the growth of new technology, society is becoming too dependent on cell phones. Although
communication and information may be important over a screen, it may take away from
interaction in society. Overuse can cause negative side effects when it is not available as well as
take away the overall experience of life itself. Cellular technologyhas contributed to negative and
positive factors. It is best to view each side and understand how to best use it for a healthy lifestyle.
To begin with, skills such as oral communication and face to face conversations are crucial to
success and understanding how to interact in society today. With the overwhelming amount of
young people over using their phones, face to face communication might be ... Show more content

Given these points, they strongly correlate with how they reveal the dependence on cell phones and
that they contribute to psychological effects in the most unwilling and detrimental ways.
Lastly, cell phones can take away experiencing life. Getting outside and going beyond a screen
can be seen almost as therapy for people who get everything out of their phone. Breathing fresh
air, going on a trip, being with the people who love you most can be a life changer and can
present how much life has to offer without depending on technology. Mentally taking a break from
cellular technology and social media included can bring down levels of stress and can help an
individual connect with who they are as well others. Ultimately, everyone should take a break from
their phones and screens to really see beyond the painted picture. It s importance truly shows how
generations change with times continuance.
Given these points, cellular devices have also contributed to some of the easiest accessible
information and communication ever possible. Cell phones have enriched international
communication and access to information revolutionizing the way humans are able to interact. Cell
phones allow conversations to be taken through text and over the phone providing easier access to
communication without the need to be face to face. Information can also be accessed efficiently

Cannibalism And Its Impact On Society
Introduction
Throughout the course of our evolution hominids have engaged in, what today would be
considered savage, inhumane practices, such as manslaughter, torture and mutilation (Lewis,
Jurmain Kilgore, 2013). These actions today are considered almost taboo in society, however
anthropologists who study such behaviour and historians who have meticulously documented it are
completely comfortable divulging their work to the scientific community. Based on this acceptance,
one would expect the topic of cannibalism to be met with the same understanding within academia.
Astoundingly though, the discussion of cannibalism within our ancestral past encounters much
controversy and is greatly looked down upon within the general population (White, 2001). For those
who study this highly provocative practice, like paleoanthropologist Tim White, the idea of
cannibalism is as significant to the holistic study of anthropology as the idea of evolution is to the
study of creationism. This viewpoint is only one of many related to cannibalism today and is shared
by a very small group of individuals. The thought of cannibalism within modern society though
comes with so much displeasure to the point that conferences go to the length of entitling
presentations such that the notion of one human being consuming another is eluded altogether. An
example of this tactic would be the Multidisciplinary Approaches to Social Violence in the
Prehispanic American Southwest symposium which outlined

Comparing The Sefer Ha-Bahir And Revelations Of Divine Love
The Jewish text The Sefer ha Bahir as well as the Christian Julian of Norwich s Revelations of
Divine Love are both considered to be works of mysticism, although they are entirely different
styles of writing, the prior being a rabbinic commentary of the Torah while the latter is in an
autobiographical style. Mysticism is generally defined as a direct, personal experience of the
divine. This definition lacks a key component of the mysticism found in these two works. The
authors are not merely experiencing the divine, either through the Torah or visions, they are
gaining knowledge of the divine in the process. This is evident in the titles of the texts as well as
within the texts. The Sefer ha Bahir and Revelations of Divine Love do conform... Show more

The reason why the definition of mysticism should be expanded upon in light of these two texts,
even though the original definition is not incorrect, is because it does shroud the significance of
the knowledge and understanding gained in these works of mysticism. Mysticism is not simply
a spiritual experience or the presence of the divine; the texts demonstrate that knowledge of the
divine is deepened through these experiences. It can be seen in this quote from The Bahir that
the rabbi are coming to a deeper understanding through reading the Torah: Why does the verse
not say, And it was so ? What is this like? A king had a beautiful object. He puts it away until he
had a place for it, and then he put it there (haKana 25). The Bahir writes of more than just a
divine experience because the rabbi are gaining knowledge of the meaning behind passages of the
Torah. Julian also writes not only of journey to God, but a journey that teaches her divine
knowledge. On the first page she writes, ...with many fair shewings of endless wisdom and
teachings of love... (Norwich 1). Julian is

The Execution Of Third Of May Francisco Goya
There is a particular painting that portrays the style of Romanticism very effectively. In the
painting The Execution of Third of May by Francisco Goya, we can see a great example of an
artist who utilized the style of the day to create a piece of art that leaves an impression. Francisco
Goya was from Spain, and a large part of the Romantic work that took place there was portrayed
through Goya s work. This particular painting of his, is an example of Romantic Nationalism.
There is a large story behind what is seen in paint. The historical context of this painting involves
Portugal, when Spain and Franceinvaded into Portugal. Spain was defeated, and overrun by
Napoleon. Napoleon made his brother King of Spain, but on May 2 1808 the Spanish

Alliance System and the New Imperialism Paper
Great Britain is a country founded by a union, the Act of Union, of 1707, states that England and
Scotland should be united into one kingdom which they named Great Britain! Even though it has
been many years since the 19th and 20th century many facts have not changed from that time.
Great Britain till this day is part of the greatest powers of allies of the world. In this paper we are
going to talk about the alliance system and about the new imperialism in Great Britain by
answering a few questions. First, what alliances did Great Britain belong to and who were their
primarily allies and what were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many different countries such as France, Germany and the United States, were trying to make
improvements to their empires by expanding their territory. This was a form of expansionism.
There was an industrial boom in this period. Many railroads were created, steam power was used
and ways to communicate faster, pushed Britain to expand their empire. Countries like Russia
and Germany were traveling through eastern Europe to see what land was out there. Russia was
looking for new territory so they would not have to be dependent on imports. The lack of land
and bread forced Russia to search for new territory. As Germany expanded their arsenal other
counties were looking for ways to keep up with the arms race. New technology such as machine
guns and trench warfare made other countries aware of the fulled race for empire expansionisms.
After napoleon s reign through western europe Germany, Russia and the U.S had to come up with
the system of alliances in order to protect their land and political interest. This paticaular
movement of communism and the spread of dictatorship domanance forced countries to expand.
Like German Britain was trying to position themselves in a place where they would not be
defeated by any of its neighbors. Britain s major imperialist activities in the 19th century was the

An Errand of Beauty
Dearest Marcellina Avitus,
I m afraid I must be again the bearer of bad news my dear sister. After bringing yours and Lucanus
petitions to my own husband, and then to our local Aedile last week, I had no such luck in having
them answered. I thought perhaps, with my noble blood and the respected Patrician name of my
husband I could perhaps get an audience with our beloved Emperor. So, there I was last week,
walking through the streets of Rome, my ladies in waiting all aflutter around me, dodging Plebian
neighborhoods like a plague from the gods, following whispers from strolling senators in their
bright white togas. My only mission was to find our emperor Trajan and command to have your
petitions answered.
However, as you know dear sister, I am easily distracted by the wondrous beauties the gods have
bestowed upon our great city. Sister, have you ever actually taken the time to look at the beauty
around you? I know there is not much where you reside on the outskirts of town, but next time you
go to the market, please do. In fact, visit the markets outside of Emperor Trajan s forum the next
time you come further into the city.
Can you imagine two whole levels of market stalls? Each one with more and more goods to
purchase, by the gods it is a sight to behold sister. I had to send one of ladies in waiting to run
home and fetch more slaves just to be able to carry back the abundance of luxury items I
purchased from one of the first floor shops, located just beneath a

Freud The Uncanny
It would make sense to firstly explain and elaborate on Freud s theory of The Uncanny . The word
uncanny derives from German origin, unheimlich , which translates to unhomely . This concept
regards elements which arouse fear, dismay and unfamiliarity; these apply to everything that was
intended to remain behind closed doors, but has emerged into the open . The very purpose of
Gothic texts regardless of the era coincides with Freud s theory of The Uncanny , thus allowing
myself to begin the presented investigation. The 19th Century was a transition from the Romantic
period to that of the Enlightenment (1800 1850), in which individualism, analysis and reason were
placed upon a pedestal. A rigid dichotomy formed between science and religion,

Remember The Titans Reflection

Professor Abdul Salaam
Remember the Titans is a film based on the true story of Coach Herman Boone, who takes on the
task of integrating a racially divided football team in order to achieve victory. In 1970, the Supreme
Court ruling in Swann v Charlotte Mecklenburg Board of Education permits busing students to
achieve racial integration in public schools. In 1971, T. C. Williams High Schoolhires successful,
black coach, Herman Boone as head coach to lead the school s newly integrated football team,
depriving Bill Yoast, former head coach and nominee for the Virginia High School Hall of Fame,
of the head coach position. Yoast debates pursuing opportunities elsewhere, but when most of his
white players vow to sit out the season unless he coaches, he changes his mind and stays on as
Boone s assistant and defensive coordinator. Throughout training camp and the season, Boone
and Yoast s black and white players learn to accept each other, to work together, and that football
knows no race. As they learn from each other, Boone and Yoast also learn from them and in turn,
the whole town learns from the team, the Titans. During their practices, black and white football
team members often clash in racial conflicts. The biggest fights occur between the white captain,
whom also acts as the unofficial leader for the white football players, Gerry Bertier, and black
player, whom also acts as the unofficial leader for the black football

Money, Bond, Returns, And Amortization Schedule
Money, Bond Returns, and Amortization Schedule The flow of funds within financial markets is
stimulated by the money, bond and mortgage markets. A money market is the trading of highly
liquid financial instruments with a duration of one year or less and includes the trading of Treasury
bills. Furthermore, bonds are long term investments, with a duration greater than 1 year and are
issued by corporations and the U.S. government. In addition, the mortgagemarket creates loans to
finance the real estate market. Once mortgages are issued on a property, banking institutions
securitize the mortgages and sell them on the secondary market (CSU Global, 2016). Due to the
scale of these three markets they have an extensive impact on the monetary supply and economy.
Treasury Bills Money market securities are short term instruments created by governments and
corporations to obtain short term funding. Treasury bills (T bills) are common instruments used
in the money market and are issued by the U.S. government. Moreover, T bills are used by the
government to refinance maturing debt and to cover budget deficits. The Federal Reserve also
uses T bills as a fundamental technique to implement monetary policy (Saunders Cornett, 2015).
If a one purchases a T bill that is 90 days from maturity, for $9,970 and with a face value of
$10,000, the quoted yield is 1.200%, the bond equivalent yield is 1.2201% and the EAR is 1.222%

Dance Camp Short Story
Dance Camp
Lily got out of the door of their black car and saw the Interlochen Fine Arts Camp sign. She let
out a small squeal and said, I can t believe I am going to the Fine Arts Camp!
Lily looked to her dad and he said, Well you deserve it since you are the top dancer in your dance
studio. Also, you didn t spend hours of dancing for nothing.
As they pulled up to the large white gateway a person was standing by it she had a white shirt on
and navy pants. The woman looked up and yelled , What s your name, what category are you in?
My dad said, Her name is Lily Huston and she is in the dance category. We drove through the
large white gateway and went to the dance dorm room location. There were large beautiful
bushes and bright blue hydrangeas. They parked in the driveway and my dad said softly and a
little bit teary eyed, I will miss you over the summer. I hope you have a good time and be safe.
Don t fall, don t get sick, and do not cheat! Then he gave her the biggest hug she ever had.
She said I will miss you too, don t forget to pick me up! She gave him one more hug and her dad
hopped into the car, waved and drove off.
Lily walked into her assigned dorm and saw her best friend, Kaitlin.
After they said their hello s and then Lily looked at the other side of the pale, white room and saw
a girl named Lydia. She was scoffing at them as they were done saying hello .

Example Of P2p Energy System
2Applications for this research in Industry
A peer to peer electricity system would optimise the last mile of the distribution grid. In fact, the
most direct benefit sits below the level 1 transformer. If the local community can move
electricity and balance the grid on a local level, below the level 1 transformer, there is a
reduction in the remaining grid infrastructure. I will illustrate this reduction using a simple
example, that of a new house with 3kw of general load and 16 kW of air conditioning that
replaces an old house with 3 kW peak load (kettle, stove, and fridge). The new house turns on the
16kw air conditioned only at times when the grid is at its peak (during hot weather.) The grid
infrastructure in a business as usual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is seen in the report Emerging Technologies Information Paper (AEMO, 2015) and the
domestic customer has now emerged with a clear voice in Australian energy planning.
The neighbourhood effects of PV adoption researched by Graziano et al. (2014) means that this
research could be used in government policy to develop communities that would share energy
resources and reduce the peak load on the electricity network (hence reducing infrastructure costs.)
Newman in a 2010 CSIRO publication covered the relevant policy and social dynamics in
Australia ((Newman et al., 2010). Their focus in this paper was on the role of renewable energy in
building resilience into Australian cities. Peter Newman is a specialist in socio ecology systems
but in my view missed the need for the consumer to engage in trading and sharing of energy
resources before the economics of renewable energy can be acceptable to the broader society. His
view is that integration of more renewables is possible ipso facto. I argue that to do this, policy
development must allow sharing and trading of electricity.

Whether the issue is a continuing problem of significant...
Whether the issue is a continuing problem of significant importance to society, or a relatively new
and unheard of phenomenon, public attention and activism tends to follow similar patterns of
cycling attitudes and behaviors. As Anthony Downs explains in an article written more than 30
years ago, issues regarding the environment tend to suddenly leap into prominence, remain there for
a short time, and then gradually fade from the center of public attention. He calls this process the
issue attention cycle, one of the most intriguing theories regarding environmental public opinion.
Even though this article was written in the 1970 s, Downs theory contains crucial insight into what
is currently happening with public opinion about the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next two stages highlight the decline of interest within environmental issues, resulting in an
immense decline in euphoric enthusiasm. Thus, the third stage of the issue attention cycle is
realizing the cost of significant progress. This entails the spread of a gradual realization that the
cost of solving the problem is much higher than originally expected. More specifically, it would
take a great deal of money and resources, as well as major sacrifices by large groups in the
population. This results in a realization by the public that the problem is usually a direct result
from some extremely beneficial aspect of their lives. For example, smog and air pollution can be
a result from the increased use of cars, so not only would cutting down on how often one drives a
car decrease this pollution, but would also decrease in the advantages that owning a car contains.
For some people, sacrificing these advantages comes as no easy task, and most don t want to
sacrifice at all.
Hence, and as Downs so succinctly puts it, the previous stage almost imperceptibly transforms into
the fourth stage; the gradual decline of intense public interest. Essentially, and as more and more
people realize the difficulties and time

Skyhawk Descriptive Writing
I was a little nervous about the wind as we climbed into the cockpit and did our preflight checks.
I explained to Trevor that I have been in small airplanes before but not in this much wind. I wasn

terrifying as I thought it would be. I was surprised on how smooth the flight was once we

I both loved to fish in the area, so we aimed towards the 81 ponds and actually flew over Lake

5 Sleep Stages
There are five stages of sleep. Each one is distinguishable from the others. During the course of a
night s sleep, on average, humans cycle through all of these stages several times, usually about 4
to 6 times. Circadian rhythms in the body tell us when it is time to sleep. Before sleeping, while
alert, beta waves appear on an EEG. During a state of relaxation, immediately prior to sleeping,
alpha waves appear on an EEG. After drifting off into sleep, the first sleep stage begins. This is
characterized by being the lightest stage of sleep, with brain waves being slow and irregular. After
drifting further to slumber, the second stage begins. Body temperature drops, and both heart rate
and brain waves slow down. Breathing becomes shallow as well.

Persuasive Essay On Restorative Justice
Many schools implement the concept of restorative justice, in particular; Good Shepherd Catholic
College Mount Isa. The college implements restorative justice in their disciplinary system, they ve
created a new process in dealing with misbehavior through the Responsible Thinking Process
(RTP). This process allows the the students to identify what s wrong in their behavior and gives
them a chance to reflect upon this. The student is first warned when they misbehave then the
teacher proceeds to give them a second chance to correct said behavior after a warning. If the
student continues to misbehave, the teacher will go through the responsible thinking process in
which they ask What are you doing? What should you be doing? Where will you go if this
continues to happens again? This allows the students to take responsibility for their actions and
think about their wrongdoings which allows them to correct themselves. This is more effective
than sending a student away and punishing them, because without verbally addressing the issue,
they don t understand the repercussions of their actions and will often re offend. If the student then
chooses to misbehave again they will be sent to The Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC), in
which they will have to further reflect on their actions. Once this process has occurred, they then
have to negotiate with their teachers about returning to the class and what they have to do, in order
to be allowed in. (Good Shepherd Catholic College, 2017)

Masculism In Things Fall Apart, By Chinua Achebe
According to Merriam Webster, the definition of masculism is an advocate of male superiority or
dominance in social rights. Masculism is one of the main theme shown throughout the book,
Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe. In the novel, women seem that they do not have any equal
rights as men. Also, they have little power in their society and are often mistreat by men.
However, women play key roles throughout the novel diversely. Through the main character,
Okonkwo, women s role are well described in the novel. Women represent a symbol of wealth and
education, and in the other hand, they represent both weak and strong. Okonkwo, the main

High School Law
How would teenagers react to a law that states that one must receive a high school diploma in
order to obtain a driver s license? I, for one, would not be a jolly camper, as I rely on the ability
to drive for functions similar to school or work. I also see countless young adults would oppose
this law for the same reasons. In this essay, I will dive into the effects of this law, including the
hidden obscurities that would have those effects tied to them. One effect would be the availability
for teenagers to work. Firstly, if teens cannot work, then they might not be able to support their
families. Families that exist on welfare need as much money as they can acquire, and a child not

Firstly, the entire reason many teens receive driver s licenses is for the reason that they can be
free. Taking the freedom from a teen is identical to imprisoning them. The statement is true since
neither situation allows them to leave at their own whim. Secondly, teens obtain driver s licenses
for the reason that one might desire to clear their head, or remove themselves from an abusive
family. Being able to escape is needed in one s life, lest they wish to be trapped in their own
regrets and shame. Escaping an abusive family is an absolute must, for the simple reason that is
isn t ethical to force them to stay. Finally, teens enjoy hanging out with friends. It s a natural part
of society to aspire to be with other people than their family from time to time. Parties remain an
example of a piece of society that would be demolished if driver s licenses were retrieved from
teenagers until the completion of high school. This, along with the other two factors, stands the key
reasons teens should retain their licenses once they obtain it at age

Loneliness And Obsession In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
Victor Frankenstein The choices we make set our path to our destination in life. Victor
Frankenstein created a monster to heal his own disease of loneliness, obsession, and suffering. By
doing so, he designed a monstrosity that spiraled out of control. He was on a journey of self
fulfillment to finding access to the key of life. Humans are not meant to live in isolation. It has been
known that humanbeings thrive and flourish in groups; we feed off of each other. Victor
Frankensteins story began with subtle details of his education and childhood throughout the
years; he progressively isolated himself from his loved ones. I threw myself into the chaise that
was to convey me away and indulged in the most melancholy reflections. I, who had ever been
surrounded by amiable companions, continually engaged in endeavoring to bestow mutual
pleasure I was now alone. In the university whither I was going I must form my own friends and
be my own protector. (Shelley 1818: pg44) The segregated Victor is void of multiple points of

Analysis Of Nella Larsen s Passing, Issues Of Race,...
In Nella Larsen s Passing, issues of race, identity, and privilege are explored. Irene Redfield, the
African American wife of a doctor, is herself passing in the Drayton Hotel s rooftop garden when
she comes across Clare Kendry, a childhood friend. Clare is passing as white in her daily life with
her husband believing that she is a white woman. Although Irene does not approve of Clare s
passing, and tension exists among the characters, Irene grows to feel sympathetic for Clare and
becomes closer to her. The tension that exists between the two women is suggestive of another
form of passing and sublimated desire. Through the novel, Larsen demonstrates that passing
manifests.
By developing unsteady characters, Larsen communicates how simple it is to escape one s
appreciation of themself. Clare breaks the tragic mulatto stereotype, but never has the chance to
identify to a particular race. While she passes as white, Clare still seeks comfort from her friend
Irene who is from the African American community. In Irene s mind, Clare has become a
mysterious double of herself due to their contrasting lives they lead. Irene is obsessive and
envious of Clare. She destroys her own self by psychologically ruining herself, thinking that Clare
is having an affair with her husband, Brian. While openly discussing racial passing, the book also
secretly analyzes gender passing. Irene s connection with Clare is based on desire, jealousy, and
obsession. Both Clare and Irene fail to try to

Bad Knees Weaknesses
Bad Knees
1.What are bad knees?
Apart from aching backs, a significant number of people who exercise and workout, complain about
aching knees. Exercise, sports and other activities, can cause serious injuries, muscle strains, and
tendonitis. For some people, knee pain can become so severe that daily activities become limited.
Others might experience mild pain, which might be a hindrance to their healthy lifestyle.
If you are dealing with a knee problem, chances are very high that you are suffering from bad

main reasons that lead to bad knees. Older people tend to experience knee pain more than the

The method applied will normally depend on the reason behind the pain, as well as the extent of
the problem. If the problem is not severe, then there are simple home remedies applied and the
problem will be over within a few days. The most common home remedy is RICE. It stands for rest,
ice, compression, and elevation. These activities promote better knee movement while reducing the
swelling.
Medications are normally prescribed for pain relief or treat an underlying knee condition. Physical
therapy is another popular method. It is frequently used to fix bad knees. Sometimes, all you need
is to strengthen the muscles around the knees making it to withstand high activity levels. This helps
in avoiding further injuries, or even worsening the present injury.
Certain medical injections directly to the knee are prescribed, to alleviate the pain during certain
knee injuries. The most common injections used are lubricants and corticosteroids. Corticosteroids
are used to relieve inflammation and treat certain forms of arthritis. However, this needs to be done
frequently, to keep the condition in check. Doctors will usually prescribe lubricants, to add extra
fluid in your knee joints. Lubricants are familiar to knee fluid. They promote better movement and

Fuel Efficiency Regulations And The American Automotive...
Fuel Efficiency Regulations and the American Automotive Industry
In conversations globally the environment is a hot topic. Issues with the ozone layer, depleting
natural resources, and health risks associated with emissions and changes in climate coupled with
its resulting natural disasters; have pushed conservation issues into the spotlight. The
environmental issues presented today are not the result of one country, one type, or one industry
actions but a communal failure of a mixture of several. With that said many countries and industries
are going through policy changes to combat environmental issues that will hopefully benefit the
environment, the consumer, and industries.
One industry that is currently undergoing environmental challenges that call for changes is the
American Automotive Industry. Vehicle emissions are a major contributor to the issue of global
warming. When speaking of emissions we are referring to the amount of carbon dioxide and other
gaseous chemicals that are released into the atmosphere. The release of these gasses creates
respiratory issues in the populace, as well as creates thinning (and eventually holes) in our ozone
layer. These gases are expelled from vehicles when fuel is burned; the greater the fuel usage of a
vehicle the more it burns off into the atmosphere.
The American Auto Industry, in the form of vehicles it produces, account for almost one fifth of
emissions in the United States. Subtracting emissions created from production,

The Reality Of Romanticism In Madame Bovary

The reality of Romanticism
Realism is a literary movement and artistic movement of the 19th century where authors give an
exact representation of society, nature and people as they are. Throughout this century, numerous
problems were emerging in society in Europe because of the Industrial revolution which took place
between 1760 until around 1840. Problems such as poverty, poor working conditions, poor living
conditions, and life was no longer a fairy and these changes influenced art and literature. In France,
many writers, painters and artists represented the reality of life in their works.
Gustave Flaubert as well as many other French artists described their society with as much detail
and honesty as they could possibly fit. They wanted art to be a testament of the contemporary
society and the romantic works did not quite represent life accurately. The artists of the realism
period valued science over supernatural, dirty truth over beautiful lies and sometimes they were
criticized for exposing problems of the society that no one dared to expose, such as the role of
women in society.
After publishing Madame Bovary, Flaubert received a lot of criticism for his work. The main

Questions On Initial Public Offerings
Isaac Smith Sinha: FIN 494 4/23/15 Initial Public Offerings Introduction: Initial Public Offerings
are when any type of security is sold to the public for the first time within a company s history.
The main reason for this is to hope that a liquid market will grow within this security, where
people are trading shares on a daily basis. The reason that I have decided to do research on IPO s
is because it sounds very simple, yet there are many things that must be done in order to reach a
point to offer an IPO and there are also many ups and downs for companies to weigh to see if it
is worth taking their security to the general public. Throughout this paper I will introduce to you
why company s want to issue IPO s, how they do it, and how they try to create the initial price
per share. Along with those key ideas, I will talk about why most IPO s are underpriced when
they go to market, price changes once on the market, and lockup agreements. Finally, I am going
to give a few examples of recent IPO s such as Facebook and Sportsman s Warehouse, and other
IPO fallouts. Why do firms want to go public? As noted above an IPO occurs when a security is
sold to the public for the first time. Most firms start out generating equity privately from a
relatively low amount of investors. With this type of funding there is no liquid market for any of
the shareholders to sell their stock within a privately funded company. When companies decide that
they need to raise more capital than what

How Web Analytics Can Help Businesses Or Organizations...
Introduction Web analytics can help businesses or organizations with a web presence stay
competitive, leading to profitability. The use of analytics can be a powerful tool in a company s
strategic approach that can be used to differentiate it from its competitors and serve as a form of
competitive advantage for the organization in competing in this twenty first century. In this essay,
various definitions of web analytics and other key terms used in this field will be examined.
Definitions According to on online behavior.com, analytics is defined as the process of obtaining
an optimal or realistic decision based on existing data. [1]. Davenport and Harris (2007) defined
analytics, as the extensive use of data, statistical and quantitative analysis, explanatory and
predictive models, and fact based management to drive decisions and actions. [2]. Web analytics is
defined, according to a document from Clark University, as the practice of measuring, collecting,
analyzing and reporting on internet data for the purposes of understanding how a website is used
by its audience and how to optimize its usage. [3]. The same document gives a much more simple
definition of web analytics, as the study of visitor, navigation, and traffic patterns to determine the
success of a given website. [3]. The document states further that web analytics does not purely focus
on the amount of traffic which might only be helpful in evaluating your bandwidth usage and

Similarities And Differences Between Rikkki Tikki Movie...
Rikki Tikki Tavi s great adventure
Rikki Tikki the mongoose that has nothing to fear has many similarities in it s book and the
movie. A mongoose is a very sociable animal in the book/movie and in real life too. The Title of the
mongooses book is Rikki Tikki Tavi and the author is Rudyard Kipling. The movie Rikki Tikki Tavi
is found on Vimeo Rikki Tikki Tavi video clip on Vimeo. The producer of the movie kept the true
version of the story to the concept. The similarities in the book and movie are so close together with
a few distinguished differences, but nobody could straighten them apart through differences. The
Movie is very similar to the book through the characters, setting, and the conflict through the
characters.
The first similarity between the movie and the book is the characters and what they do in it.
The snakes are the first people that are the same, especially Nag and Nagaina. They do the same
strike, or at least try to strike, Rikki Tikki when they first saw him. The brave Rikki Tikki asks
Darzee But I am a stranger here, who is Nag? Then Nag rises from the ground, then Nagaina tries
to strike Tikki from behind but fails before Darzee s wife warns him.(Kipling pg. 146) The
second person that is the same is Darzee, or the singing bird. Darzee in both the book and the
movie sang through everything even when Rikki Tikki had died . He even sang a song when they
thought Rikki had died, So he sang a very mournful song that he made up on the spur of the

My Last Shot-Personal Narrative
Friends are like family you cherish them no matter what. NO!Don t shoot don t shoot! I screamed
with laughter.
It was a gorgeous, clear sky Friday in April and today was going to be the best day ever. My class
and I were going to our teachers, Mr.Ferguson s, house because we had earned it by reading for
reading month. He had told us that his house was so close by that we could walk to it. My friend
Grace s nickname was wagon , and when we got to Mr.Ferguson s house there was a wagon her
long lost cousin.
Once Grace was done reuniting with her cousin we went inside, and Mr.Ferguson told us the rules
and to go have fun. All of us headed down stairs. Luke and Andrew found the nerfguns and started
planning something, while Emma and Kenzie were stealing Aarons shoes. Then all ... Show more

Then we hide. I suggested.
Ok, that s a good plan, but then what? Aggy asked.
Then once we see him in range we shoot him until he surrenders.
Once we got to the door we heard someone cocking their gun.
Oh no! I exclaimed.
We heard Luke coming towards the door, so I sprinted towards the porch while Audri was
pretending to just relax as if nothing happened. When I was on the porch I felt a soft thud on my
back and I heard a mischievous cackle break the silence. Luke had shot me. Then I bolted so
rapidly without looking back and that s how I finished our war.
After the war I was bored, so I decided to go play soccer, and right at that moment Mr. Ferguson
decided to play. It was so much fun then my mom said we had to go.
That year was the most fun I ve had since fourth grade. Sadly, that all came to an end when
Mr.Ferguson told us he wasn t going to be there the next year when we were going to be in sixth
grade. We all were devastated. All the girls started sodding our hearts out. I know we all be
together always because my friends are my family and i will cherish them

Hurley s Trust Model
Resources:
Hurley (2012), a resource recommended by the Leadership Practice Inventory (LPI), utilizes the
Decision to Trust Model (DMT), to allow leaders to better gauge when to make trusting decisions
as well as to how to identify trust factors and build trusting relationships. The action steps
delineated in this performance plan were adapted from Hurley s Trust Interventions because these
actions are intended to help leaders build trust among peers and subordinates (2012). They reinforce
the need for me to delegate tasks, provide sufficient support, but yet allow subordinates the
opportunity to carryout the task.

  • 2. Count Dominic Sinclair s The Assassination Of The King Count Dominic Sinclair the Third was the name that he was going by in the court these days, letting people think that he was his own grandson so that he could of course continue to enjoy the title and the positions that he was often appointed too. A hundred years ago he had been gifted the title of course along with some lands and a great deal of wealth by the King when he had returned as the only survivor of a battle that he had won for the kingdom. Sixty years later he spent three decades as the assassin of the king who followed, ensuring that his political enemies were removed from any position they could be a threat at the point of a blade or with a cord around their neck. Now he had returned thirty years later, this time to work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Something had reached out to him, a old and forgotten god that had long been discarded by humanity, its final temple had once stood in that very field but eventually had broken down by the elements. Ma al offered Dominic a chance to survive, not only to just live but to thrive for eternity so long as he was willing to give it what it desired... Dominic was a talented killer and the god wanted someone who would kill for him, so long as Dominic did this he would not only live but he would thrive with the blessings of a god. He limped home over the course of several weeks, killing as he went, regaining his strength, until he eventually stood in the court and was offered rewards for his hard work. A little less then a month he had been employed to teach the young prince how to defend himself with sword, spear, and anything else he might have close at hand should something go wrong. Of course he wasn t just here to serve as a weapons master to the heir... he wanted to kill a member of the royal family. • 3. Ns The National Security Agency USA Today confirms: the National Security Agency has been secretly collecting the phone call records of tens of millions of Americans, using data provided by AT T, Verizon and BellSouth. With access to records of billions of domestic calls, the NSA has gained a secret window into the communications habits of millions of Americans. (Opsahl 28 Sep. 2013) It s no secret that the U.S. government agency known as the NSA, National Security Agency, has been monitoring phone calls and Internet usage of United Statescitizens since the early 2000 s during George W. Bush s time in office. During his presidency, Bush authorized the motorization of millions of citizen s phone calls. (Tebbutt 25 Sep. 2013) The NSA created a secret program called The Highlander Program which was designed to monitor satellite phone transmissions on the Inmarsat network in the Middle East. During this secret program, the NSA did not monitor any United States citizens. Bush claimed the surveillance was limited to the al Qaeda, but that simply was not the case. (Forgang 27 Sep. 2013) Does the United States government have the right to listen in on civilian s phone calls regardless of the reason? As seen in the media, most citizens don t want the NSA to be listening in on their calls and other forms of communication. In Samuel Greengard s magazine article, Spies Among Us, he explains, The boundary between protection and privacy has always been fuzzy. (Greengard 27 Sep. 2013) The point he is offering is ... • 4. The Influence Of Tax Credits The Influence of Tax Credits The impetus behind the tax credits appears to be two fold. As taxpayers work to improve energy efficiency, decreasing usage, and lessening the environmental impact of their daily activities, they may receive financial rewards based on their actions. The offer of tax credits is an attempt to achieve a certain behavior from the consumer. However, two important things must take place before the consumer takes action. First, the consumer must be aware that a tax credit is available. Sales are highly publicized, but publicity relating to tax credits is limited. Once the consumer is made aware of a tax credit, they must view the tax credit as a reduction in price, but a tax credit is much more complicated with several caveats. Environmental tax credits offered by various levels of government are extremely popular with both the governing bodies and those who benefit from the credits. Government is seen as taking a positive step not only towards improving the environment, but reducing the United States dependency on fuel from other countries which in turn allows for greater security. Tax credits allow the individual or business to decide how to spend their money and the financial benefit of a particular behavior. The financial benefit may be in the form of reduced operating costs or taxes. However a closer look at eco friendly tax credits for the individual consumer points to a class discrepancy. These tax credits require an initial and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Plagiarism And The Consequences Of Plagiarism In this paper we will cover plagiarism. We will cover a brief history of plagiarism and look at the different types of plagiarism, as well as compare and contrast the different types. We will also look at who is most prone to plagiarize and why. We will also discuss the role plagiarism plays in academia and the consequences to plagiarizing. Webster s online Dictionary defines plagiarismas to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one s own: use (another s production) without crediting the source [... or] to commit literary theft: present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source. Many people believe that plagiarism is a relatively new concept that came about as technology became more and more accessible, however this is not the case. It is said that Shakespeare s plays are not his own work. Shakespeare traveled to different regions and heard folk tales and stories from the people that lived in these areas and wrote down what the people were saying and wrote it in play form. He tweaked the stories so that they may be relatable to the English men and women that would attend his plays. Even though Shakespeare s works are not his own, he is one of, if not the most recognized playwright in the history of play writers. According to Turnitin.com there are 10 different types of plagiarism. These 10 types of plagiarism are: clone, hybrid, ctrl c, mashup, find replace, 404 error, remix, aggregator, recycle, and re tweet. Cloning is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Rhode Island Hospital Meeting Summary On December 8, 2015 I attended a meeting at Rhode Island Hospital with Lou Sperling, Matthew Taibi and Matthew Maini concerning the Trustees resolution to develop a RFP for EAP Services. The meeting convened at 9:05am. Lou indicated the RIH has conducted two (2) RFP s for similar services and wound up sticking with the same provider, Coastline EAP. Matt Taibi proposed combining EAP services with the broader responsibilities of a member advocate, who would have Social Work skills. Matt Maini agreed. The Trustees agreed the duties would be regional in scope rather than limited to Rhode Island. Lou indicated that the RIHEAP Program goes well beyond substance abuse, and Mr. Taibi agreed that that is what he has in mind for HSIP. He indicated at a staff level, HSIP could still have an individual whose duties would include EAP referrals.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lou indicated the EAP should ask for the specific process for referrals and the results of the referrals. Lou indicated that he would try to get the RIH RFP s for the Fund to use as a model. One of the strengths of this article is that the author encourages research before making a decision in regards to immunization. There are a number of weaknesses to discuss, the validity of the research is questionable, (due to further research, contradicting her claims. ) The statement made about Japanese immunization was found to be incorrect. Some of the authors information is generalized such as statements like I have NEVER met a fully vaccinated child that is healthier and more robust than a well nourished, unvaccinated child. A lot of the statements made are based on her own beliefs and are not backed up by facts and figures. Someday there will be a study that shows that unvaccinated children have many less health problems than their vaccinated peers. • 9. Analysis Of Theodore Roethke Root Cellar In Theodore Roethke Root Cellar , there is a heavy use of vivid and stylistic imagery. In the first line, the speaker states, Nothing would sleep in that cellar, dank as a ditch. We are given that something is refusing to sleep that is, to die and at the same time being dank gets us thinking about things that are undead . In line two, the speaker states, Bulbs broke out of boxes hunting for chinks in the dark. This tells us that things are still growing and they are looking for the light. In the next following line the speaker mentions, Shoots dangled and dropped (3). This gives us the image of the shoots coming out of the bulbs. The shoots dangle and droop towards whatever light possible. In line four, the speaker gives us an idea of the type of housing they are in, mildewed crates. The moisture creates mold and mildew. It also creates prettier life like plants. As you can see, mold and mildew are life, and they grow alongside the plants. In line six, the speaker brings us a smell by saying congress. Roethke must mean just the coming together or gathering of smells. In line seven, the speaker give us another sense of smell, Roots ripe as old bait, pulpy stems, rank, silo rich, leaf mold, manure, lime, piled against slippery planks. He gives us this image and the sense of smell of mold and rot to show it is still life. These words for example would be ripe, pulpy, rank, and rich. Although communication and information may be important over a screen, it may take away from interaction in society. Overuse can cause negative side effects when it is not available as well as take away the overall experience of life itself. Cellular technologyhas contributed to negative and positive factors. It is best to view each side and understand how to best use it for a healthy lifestyle. To begin with, skills such as oral communication and face to face conversations are crucial to success and understanding how to interact in society today. With the overwhelming amount of young people over using their phones, face to face communication might be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Given these points, they strongly correlate with how they reveal the dependence on cell phones and that they contribute to psychological effects in the most unwilling and detrimental ways. Lastly, cell phones can take away experiencing life. Getting outside and going beyond a screen can be seen almost as therapy for people who get everything out of their phone. Breathing fresh air, going on a trip, being with the people who love you most can be a life changer and can present how much life has to offer without depending on technology. Mentally taking a break from cellular technology and social media included can bring down levels of stress and can help an individual connect with who they are as well others. Ultimately, everyone should take a break from their phones and screens to really see beyond the painted picture. It s importance truly shows how generations change with times continuance. • 11. Cannibalism And Its Impact On Society Introduction Throughout the course of our evolution hominids have engaged in, what today would be considered savage, inhumane practices, such as manslaughter, torture and mutilation (Lewis, Jurmain Kilgore, 2013). These actions today are considered almost taboo in society, however anthropologists who study such behaviour and historians who have meticulously documented it are completely comfortable divulging their work to the scientific community. Based on this acceptance, one would expect the topic of cannibalism to be met with the same understanding within academia. Astoundingly though, the discussion of cannibalism within our ancestral past encounters much controversy and is greatly looked down upon within the general population (White, 2001). For those who study this highly provocative practice, like paleoanthropologist Tim White, the idea of cannibalism is as significant to the holistic study of anthropology as the idea of evolution is to the study of creationism. This viewpoint is only one of many related to cannibalism today and is shared by a very small group of individuals. The thought of cannibalism within modern society though comes with so much displeasure to the point that conferences go to the length of entitling presentations such that the notion of one human being consuming another is eluded altogether. An example of this tactic would be the Multidisciplinary Approaches to Social Violence in the Prehispanic American Southwest symposium which outlined ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Comparing The Sefer Ha-Bahir And Revelations Of Divine Love The Jewish text The Sefer ha Bahir as well as the Christian Julian of Norwich s Revelations of Divine Love are both considered to be works of mysticism, although they are entirely different styles of writing, the prior being a rabbinic commentary of the Torah while the latter is in an autobiographical style. Mysticism is generally defined as a direct, personal experience of the divine. This definition lacks a key component of the mysticism found in these two works. The authors are not merely experiencing the divine, either through the Torah or visions, they are gaining knowledge of the divine in the process. This is evident in the titles of the texts as well as within the texts. The Sefer ha Bahir and Revelations of Divine Love do conform... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason why the definition of mysticism should be expanded upon in light of these two texts, even though the original definition is not incorrect, is because it does shroud the significance of the knowledge and understanding gained in these works of mysticism. Mysticism is not simply a spiritual experience or the presence of the divine; the texts demonstrate that knowledge of the divine is deepened through these experiences. It can be seen in this quote from The Bahir that the rabbi are coming to a deeper understanding through reading the Torah: Why does the verse not say, And it was so ? What is this like? A king had a beautiful object. He puts it away until he had a place for it, and then he put it there (haKana 25). Throughout training camp and the season, Boone and Yoast s black and white players learn to accept each other, to work together, and that football knows no race. As they learn from each other, Boone and Yoast also learn from them and in turn, the whole town learns from the team, the Titans. Money, Bond, Returns, And Amortization Schedule Money, Bond Returns, and Amortization Schedule The flow of funds within financial markets is stimulated by the money, bond and mortgage markets. A money market is the trading of highly liquid financial instruments with a duration of one year or less and includes the trading of Treasury bills. Furthermore, bonds are long term investments, with a duration greater than 1 year and are issued by corporations and the U.S. government. In addition, the mortgagemarket creates loans to finance the real estate market. Once mortgages are issued on a property, banking institutions securitize the mortgages and sell them on the secondary market (CSU Global, 2016). Due to the scale of these three markets they have an extensive impact on the monetary supply and economy. Treasury Bills Money market securities are short term instruments created by governments and corporations to obtain short term funding. Treasury bills (T bills) are common instruments used in the money market and are issued by the U.S. government. Moreover, T bills are used by the government to refinance maturing debt and to cover budget deficits. The Federal Reserve also uses T bills as a fundamental technique to implement monetary policy (Saunders Cornett, 2015). In fact, the most direct benefit sits below the level 1 transformer. If the local community can move electricity and balance the grid on a local level, below the level 1 transformer, there is a reduction in the remaining grid infrastructure. I will illustrate this reduction using a simple example, that of a new house with 3kw of general load and 16 kW of air conditioning that replaces an old house with 3 kW peak load (kettle, stove, and fridge). The new house turns on the 16kw air conditioned only at times when the grid is at its peak (during hot weather.) The grid infrastructure in a business as usual ... The neighbourhood effects of PV adoption researched by Graziano et al. (2014) means that this research could be used in government policy to develop communities that would share energy resources and reduce the peak load on the electricity network (hence reducing infrastructure costs.) Newman in a 2010 CSIRO publication covered the relevant policy and social dynamics in Australia ((Newman et al., 2010). Their focus in this paper was on the role of renewable energy in building resilience into Australian cities. Peter Newman is a specialist in socio ecology systems but in my view missed the need for the consumer to engage in trading and sharing of energy resources before the economics of renewable energy can be acceptable to the broader society. His view is that integration of more renewables is possible ipso facto. I argue that to do this, policy development must allow sharing and trading of electricity. 4Conclusions and Future Research Apart from the emerging interest in government energy planning, there is also action in the private sector. Whether the issue is a continuing problem of significant importance to society, or a relatively new and unheard of phenomenon, public attention and activism tends to follow similar patterns of cycling attitudes and behaviors. As Anthony Downs explains in an article written more than 30 years ago, issues regarding the environment tend to suddenly leap into prominence, remain there for a short time, and then gradually fade from the center of public attention. He calls this process the issue attention cycle, one of the most intriguing theories regarding environmental public opinion. Even though this article was written in the 1970 s, Downs theory contains crucial insight into what is currently happening with public opinion about the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next two stages highlight the decline of interest within environmental issues, resulting in an immense decline in euphoric enthusiasm. Thus, the third stage of the issue attention cycle is realizing the cost of significant progress. This entails the spread of a gradual realization that the cost of solving the problem is much higher than originally expected. More specifically, it would take a great deal of money and resources, as well as major sacrifices by large groups in the population. This results in a realization by the public that the problem is usually a direct result from some extremely beneficial aspect of their lives. For example, smog and air pollution can be a result from the increased use of cars, so not only would cutting down on how often one drives a car decrease this pollution, but would also decrease in the advantages that owning a car contains. For some people, sacrificing these advantages comes as no easy task, and most don t want to sacrifice at all. Hence, and as Downs so succinctly puts it, the previous stage almost imperceptibly transforms into the fourth stage; the gradual decline of intense public interest. The college implements restorative justice in their disciplinary system, they ve created a new process in dealing with misbehavior through the Responsible Thinking Process (RTP). This process allows the the students to identify what s wrong in their behavior and gives them a chance to reflect upon this. The student is first warned when they misbehave then the teacher proceeds to give them a second chance to correct said behavior after a warning. If the student continues to misbehave, the teacher will go through the responsible thinking process in which they ask What are you doing? What should you be doing? Where will you go if this continues to happens again? This allows the students to take responsibility for their actions and think about their wrongdoings which allows them to correct themselves. This is more effective than sending a student away and punishing them, because without verbally addressing the issue, they don t understand the repercussions of their actions and will often re offend. If the student then chooses to misbehave again they will be sent to The Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC), in which they will have to further reflect on their actions. Irene Redfield, the African American wife of a doctor, is herself passing in the Drayton Hotel s rooftop garden when she comes across Clare Kendry, a childhood friend. Clare is passing as white in her daily life with her husband believing that she is a white woman. Although Irene does not approve of Clare s passing, and tension exists among the characters, Irene grows to feel sympathetic for Clare and becomes closer to her. The tension that exists between the two women is suggestive of another form of passing and sublimated desire. Through the novel, Larsen demonstrates that passing manifests. By developing unsteady characters, Larsen communicates how simple it is to escape one s appreciation of themself. Clare breaks the tragic mulatto stereotype, but never has the chance to identify to a particular race. While she passes as white, Clare still seeks comfort from her friend Irene who is from the African American community. In Irene s mind, Clare has become a mysterious double of herself due to their contrasting lives they lead. Irene is obsessive and envious of Clare. She destroys her own self by psychologically ruining herself, thinking that Clare is having an affair with her husband, Brian. • 35. Fuel Efficiency Regulations And The American Automotive... Fuel Efficiency Regulations and the American Automotive Industry In conversations globally the environment is a hot topic. Issues with the ozone layer, depleting natural resources, and health risks associated with emissions and changes in climate coupled with its resulting natural disasters; have pushed conservation issues into the spotlight. The environmental issues presented today are not the result of one country, one type, or one industry actions but a communal failure of a mixture of several. With that said many countries and industries are going through policy changes to combat environmental issues that will hopefully benefit the environment, the consumer, and industries. One industry that is currently undergoing environmental challenges that call for changes is the American Automotive Industry. Vehicle emissions are a major contributor to the issue of global warming. When speaking of emissions we are referring to the amount of carbon dioxide and other gaseous chemicals that are released into the atmosphere. The release of these gasses creates respiratory issues in the populace, as well as creates thinning (and eventually holes) in our ozone layer. These gases are expelled from vehicles when fuel is burned; the greater the fuel usage of a vehicle the more it burns off into the atmosphere. The American Auto Industry, in the form of vehicles it produces, account for almost one fifth of emissions in the United States. Subtracting emissions created from production, ... • 36. Idiom In The Great Gatsby The old saying, two steps forward, one step back originates from a Chinese anecdote, illustrating a frog trying to climb out of a well. Every two steps the frog makes up the wall of the well, he falls back another, essentially making the process exhausting and seemingly worthless. However, the frog eventually reaches the top and recognizes that his hard work has paid off. The strenuous process this idiom captures reflects the realities of the American Dream during the 1920s: a time where people were encouraged to become successful regardless of their attributes. Eckleburg in the Valley of Ashes are illustrated as seeing the realities of America during the twenties, alluding to the Great Depression as a result of the wealthy suppressing the poor. However, although Fitzgerald is able to understand this reality, [he] knows that there is greatness to our country and our idealism, (Hearne). • 39. The Reality Of Romanticism In Madame Bovary Darrell Ahouansou Mrs DeVaney Lovinguth ENG 272 research paper 11/22/2014 The reality of Romanticism Realism is a literary movement and artistic movement of the 19th century where authors give an exact representation of society, nature and people as they are. Throughout this century, numerous problems were emerging in society in Europe because of the Industrial revolution which took place between 1760 until around 1840. Problems such as poverty, poor working conditions, poor living conditions, and life was no longer a fairy and these changes influenced art and literature. In France, many writers, painters and artists represented the reality of life in their works. Gustave Flaubert as well as many other French artists described their society with as much detail and honesty as they could possibly fit. They wanted art to be a testament of the contemporary society and the romantic works did not quite represent life accurately. The artists of the realism period valued science over supernatural, dirty truth over beautiful lies and sometimes they were criticized for exposing problems of the society that no one dared to expose, such as the role of women in society. After publishing Madame Bovary, Flaubert received a lot of criticism for his work. The main character Emma Bovary did not have the characteristics that a woman of his time is ... • 41. Questions On Initial Public Offerings Isaac Smith Sinha: FIN 494 4/23/15 Initial Public Offerings Introduction: Initial Public Offerings are when any type of security is sold to the public for the first time within a company s history. The main reason for this is to hope that a liquid market will grow within this security, where people are trading shares on a daily basis. The reason that I have decided to do research on IPO s is because it sounds very simple, yet there are many things that must be done in order to reach a point to offer an IPO and there are also many ups and downs for companies to weigh to see if it is worth taking their security to the general public. Throughout this paper I will introduce to you why company s want to issue IPO s, how they do it, and how they try to create the initial price per share. Along with those key ideas, I will talk about why most IPO s are underpriced when they go to market, price changes once on the market, and lockup agreements. Finally, I am going to give a few examples of recent IPO s such as Facebook and Sportsman s Warehouse, and other IPO fallouts. Why do firms want to go public? As noted above an IPO occurs when a security is sold to the public for the first time. Most firms start out generating equity privately from a relatively low amount of investors. With this type of funding there is no liquid market for any of the shareholders to sell their stock within a privately funded company.
