1) Jane McConnell is an intranet and portal strategy consultant based in France who has created several surveys and groups related to intranet management.
2) She presented at an Enterprise 2.0 conference in 2010 where she discussed how intranets have evolved from controlled "waltzes" to more fragmented initiatives, and how governance is still a challenge.
3) She argues intranets are moving from rigid rules and control to empowering more open collaboration, though full adoption of social tools is still in early stages for many organizations.

Does networking really make a difference? The answer is a resounding yes! In a study performed by Partnering Resources, 93% of completely successful change initiatives were led by leaders with very strong or strong personal networks. Not one change initiatives described as less successful was led by a leader with strong or very strong personal networks. Furthermore, a recent study featured in Sloan Management Review showed that high performing project teams had almost twice as many non-core contributors affiliated with the team.
In this highly interactive session, we learned about the science behind networking. We drew on insights from researchers and practitioners in the social sciences and in business to learned about the networking practices of high performers. We dispelled the myth that people who want strong networks should never eat alone and, instead, we learned about the simple actions that significantly contribute to the health of your network. We merged the art and science by mapping individual participants’ networks, identifying gaps, and developing plans for filling those gaps.

Social tools are booming nowadays. Even if it was, at the very beginning, restricted to innovative students and Web evangelist it is now gaining the business world.
In this paper we explain the power of social networks and we look over their multitude. We bring out the possible use in enterprise to optimize communication, collaboration, corporation and connection. And we draw, at the end, a theoretical model for enterprise to start Web 2.0 integration in their information system.

In this webinar, participants learned about the science behind networking and how that science can help engineers, technologists, and introverts make connections successfully and strategically.
We drew on insights from researchers and practitioners in the social sciences and business to learn about the networking practices of high performers.

Can we make a difference in societies – especially in Africa – by fostering the growth of a new generation of creators, entrepreneurs, makers that use mobile and web technologies to provide locally relevant services?
We think so, and that’s why – last year – the Web Foundation started working on 2 mobile entrepreneurship labs, in Ghana and Kenya. The session will present some of the cool things happening in these innovation hubs, will reflect on the challenges and will help participants understand what are the future opportunities in the region, and why they are important for Europe.
How Businesses Use Web 2.0 and Social Media. Presentation by Charlie Kreitzberg and Anne Pauker Kreitzberg, Cognetics at CIO Summit, April 2009, Valley Forge, PA. www.cognetics.com
Employee work habits are radically diverging from historical patterns. Anywhere–the emergence of ubiquitous connectivity--is changing both where people work and how they collaborate. Remote working is becoming a prerequisite for workers. However, companies have been slow to react, resulting in lower productivity and isolated employees.
According to a Yankee Group survey, nearly three-quarters of workers believe allowing employees to work from home benefits the company. In addition, the majority of workers indicates that the ability to work from home is the single most important thing their company could do to increase their productivity. Employees are demanding flexibility, and the companies that fail to react to this trend will be at a severe competitive disadvantage in the war for talent.
This presentation covers the workforce of tomorrow–what employees' technological, social and professional needs will be and how to keep them connected. It includes:
* The pitfalls of and connectivity solutions for remote working
* Framework for mobilizing the workforce
* Recommendations for companies

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

A tale of scale & speed: How the US Navy is enabling software delivery from l...sonjaschweigert1
Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navy’s DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATO’s (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images
